Hi sebastian.w,
I need a little more information here.
1) Did you root prior to attempting to install this ROM, if so what method did you use?
2) When you boot into recovery (Home+Power), does it show the android in the background with indicators you have cyanogen's 1.4 recovery?

Ok, that's you're problem.
You have not rooted. You can not simply install a rooted ROM without first rooting the phone.
The easiest way to get your phone back at this point is to install the CRB43 cupcake t-mobile pumped out.
Give me a couple minutes while I get this uploaded somewhere for you. I'll post back in just a few, sit tight.

Ok it's up on androidspin.
download this file ...
http://www.androidspin.com/download...OTA/&file=signed-kila-ota-148830.de6a94ca.zip
it's the CRB43 cupcake update from tmobile. Rename this to update.zip and copy it to your sdcard.
You can then boot into recovery (Home+Power) and install this "update". (Alt+s)
When it's finished, it will bring your phone back to life.

Ok, now MAKE SURE you do this exactly.
First off, please MAKE SURE you have plenty of battery on your G1. If you are unsure, then power it off and plug it into the charger and let it charge for at least an hour.
Once you're sure you got plenty of battery, do the following ...
Make sure your sdcard is formatted as FAT32.
Download this file http://koushikdutta.blurryfox.com/G1/DREAMIMG-RC7.zip
Unzip it.
There will be a file called DREAIMG.NBH, copy this to your sdcard.
Now boot into the SPL by pressing (Camera+Power) at the same time, you should see a rainbow screen. If it sees the file properly on your sdcard, it should ask you to perform the update. Proceed with the update and MAKE SURE you don't power off and let it finish completely.
This will bring your phone back to RC7 (pretty old version) but at least it will be back.
When you get this far let me know!

Ok,
I verified, that is the error you would receive when attempting to flash an DREAIMG.nbh on the wrong phone locale type.
All I can suggest at this point is to copy the DREAIMG.NBH RC-29 file to your sdcard again, overwrite it, and make sure it's called DREAIMG.NBH and perform the steps again.
If that doesn't work, then you need to try to RC-7 DREAIMG.NBH file again.
One of those files should definitely work.
Let me know.

To be honest, I am not sure. But it was my understanding that the RC7 should work on a like yours. That's why I recommended it.
I've never seen any other DREAIMG.nbh files for the G1.
Saw this while searching, this might be your case ...

Apparently, there is an entirely different rooting process for German G1's
Check out this link ...

Also, is this a brand new phone? If possible, you may want to send it back.

Here's a thing..
When I try and flash the RC29 image (FAT32 format microSD, copy DREAIMG.NBH over, boot with power / camera) the bootloader goes through the 'checking' process but then displays '00058002' in red text at the top and drops back to bootloader.
Any clues as to why it could be doing this? I've used the same process to root another G1 fine with same SD card, and Google searches yield no clues.
Making a GoldCard with QMAT did not help as well.

I've considered downgrading just a radio part to 1.22.12.29.
But I can't find a separate radio 1.22.12.29 or any info about weather it's possible at all.

URGENT MAJOR HELP REQUIRED *PLEASE*:
I am stuck on DFT boot screen (after doing 1234-vol up_down-wp7-reset) and this is *after* (wp7 here !) all the chains b4 that are done: ie: power on, hspl, htc, magldr- for windows phone 7 on hd2. Sometimes get thru to windows phone 7. but generally reboots. Done spl back to stock and leoimg on sd back to stock and tried task28s, 29s, etc but just reboots constantly and randomly.
Any thoughts here? What is warranty process? DO they replace at all with NEW? or new BOARDS/RAM? Gone back to 1.66 spl and sent in for repairs. because - the stupid recommended Romupdateutility HTC stock rom 'upgrade' did this damage. yes, was Windows Phone 7 and activated using dev hack with marketplace & xbox/live. Also - although I activate ok and can use it on market fine once it boots good - still when both my hd7 (hd2) and Mozart are signed into XboxLive using same address at same time: (mozart is legit fully/eula-signed etc) then the hd2 seems to reset a LOT here at this point. maybe this has something to do with usual xbox-live security? ie: http://www.wpcentral.com/hack-xbox-live-windows-phone-7-get-perma-banned-microsoft ?????????? please hlp me - I am fully capable of mtty, sd-leoimg, whatever it takes- but need to know why this would be the case? same with Android roms/stock too. Anyone know about task2a on hd2? how many bad blocks I should have? partition/re-partition droid or wp7 to avoid these bad blocks? I just WISH Cotulla/DFT let you run the windows phone 7 installer in such a way that all bad bloks could be excluded totally as if the never exist... ie make hd2 clean.

Hi,
Check out my bootloader screen, this doesnt look ok to me
Tried loading severel older radio's / rom's they all fail after 1, 4 or 19 % with the second error included as a jpg!
Can someone help me fix my 2nd HTC HD2 ?
TIA
Most recently, there seem to be quite a few people having issues with defective bootloaders. Somewhere in another thread, some guys actually were able to bring back the correct SPL with this method:
1. Took out the battery for about 30 seconds.
2. Put one of the LEOIMG.NBH on storage card
3. After putting the battery held the volume down button and pressed power button.
4. It went into HSPL mode straight away and started loading the win 6.5 OS.
Click to collapse
The key difference and important point is to take out the battery, keep it out for a while, and pushing the bootloader buttons while re-inserting the battery (yes, can be a little tricky).
The LEOIMG.NBH should be a ROM which is made for your device, eg. the stock ROM which was original on your device when it was brand new. If you´ve got a Leo1024 (US device), please make sure twice you´ve got a correct ROM. A wrong Radio ROM can completely brick your device, only professionals could fix that.
In case you don´t know where to get the leoimg.nbh file: Download the stock ROM for your device, decompress the RUU.exe file with WinRar (or a similar program), rename the nbh file which you´ll find in the decompressed files to leoimg.nbh, there you go.
The SD card should be freshly formatted FAT32.
Hope it works that way...
Thanks, havent tried it with the battery out for longer then 3 seconds. When i put a stock rom on the sd it just says loading, then checking and then it boots back to the bootloader!!! Gonna try it again but keep the battery out longer.

Just some questions.
- Witch SD-Card do you used? a 2GB SD-card is preferable. (And be format by FAT32.)
- Witch Stock Rom did you use?? Did you download it from the HTC webpage by using your S/N?
- And I don't know if you know it, but you need to rename the RUU_signed.nbh to leoimg.nbh.
1GB

hmm, for the moment I don't see a direct solution.
But just a question; how was this issue created/started?
I mean when did this problem become, what did you do?
I wanted to put android on my daughters hd2, i started working with this newb guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
Step 1 finished well i think:
1. YOU NEED A RADIO WHICH SUPPORTS 576 RAM (2.08.50 or later should be fine but the Radio NEEDS to be 2.**.50.**). I recommed the 2.15.50.14 Radio *HERE*
Then i did the HRDSPL bit and it showed we hacked it, then i did the magldr shizzle and it got screwed!
This is the screen is get btw!
Cant believe that this is it? I can toss the phone away now? Anyone?
This might be alil' stupid, but have you tried Task29 ?
P.S: Your tags to the thread are ~~~> xD !!
Thanks but i tried that, ClydeB1 gave me the a tip to try and will do so in 8 hours from now

Since your bootloader is corrupted, you can try SSPL?

Sorry but I've never heard of anything like that. There should be a recovery tool for windows. I only have this phone so you will have to investigate for yourself.
Keep looking in this thread someone else will come along soon.
I hope this helps.

It's obvious your phone is not rooted. Try flashing an RUU.
1: Visit here:
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=windows mobile&model=Buzz
2: Get any Eclair RUU,
RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.37.405.1_Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.35.19.25_release_151892_signed.exe
(I am assuming your phone was not operator locked / branded)
3: Connect your Wildfire to your PC, and, run the EXE file. (Note: Make sure the EXE file downloads fully. It is approx 130 MB in size)
4: Let the process complete (Takes ~15 minutes)
If it is successful, check whether the phone starts up properly or not. If it still doesn't, return it to you dealer and claim your warranty.

Is your phone an operator branded one?
Anyway, to solve that, you will need to create a goldcard. Guide here:
http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/10/how-to-create-a-goldcard/
But remember, if your phone is branded, this will remove their ROM and add a stock HTC WWE (Worldwide English) one, probably voiding the warranty if there is no RUU for your carrier.
problem solved i flash with same version..
tnx to all....

no sir i just wanna open up my phone..,i dont know 1 day it was working fine then the battery drained then when i open my phone it was stock at stick together screen..so i plan to update the rom.,,,I have tried to do a hard reset but it reads "software update failed and to please try again."
When I try to update the file again, the phone freezes at 8% complete.
When doing the update, it appears as though the phone does not have any software in it.
It reads updating from " " to "2.13.531" . If it does not detect a number, does that mean because the software update failed, it erased the software inside? I downloaded it from the T-mobile website. The file reads: T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_2.13.531.1(2)
hope you can help me sir..i see there that we have the same phone..,

lol, fair enough.
ok, take the ROM.exe (that you downloaded from t mo,, it is definitely a tmous, right? green send key?)
anyway, right click the .exe file,, choose rename, change the .exe to .zip, then double click the zip file to open it, find Ruu_signed.nbh, extract it, rename it to leoimg.nbh , copy it to an Sd card that is 4GB or smaller (important, bigger cards won't work)
card into phone, reboot into bootloader, flashing should staRt. tell us what the blue writing on grey background says.if you don't see it you did something wrong.

If you are absolutely sure that the ROM you downloaded (and the radio it contains) are the right ones for your phone, then go to the boot loader and see what it says for SPL. If you do not find HSPL, flash HSPL 2.08 and then try the ROM.
Flashing aborting or getting stuck early on is an indicator of the flashing process bring stopped by SPL...

Samsamuel can tell you better but it sorta sounds like yet another stuck radio seeing as it is hanging at the 5% to the 8% area during flashing. I am not sure exactly when but hang in there and let Samsamuel post again he can give you your list of options better than I, hope you get it going again my friend.

If it was a SPL issue then that means it is a CID or a MID issue and if it is that then the Rom would not even start to flash at all no matter if it is via RUU or SD card. If the CID or the MID is wrong it would through a error saying something like "CID mismatch" or "Model I'D mismatch" when trying to flash.

I do not want to highjack this thread so after this post I will be contacting you via PM, or if you use G Talk you can hit me up on that. If you have a TMOUS HD2 I have the 3.14 stock RUU for theTMOUS HD2 on my computer and I can upload it for you if you want. But I think the ROM you have is the same as the one I have.As far as checking your radio version if you can not boot your device at least to the T-Mobile screen with the red text at the bottom left corner then you can no check your radio version.

do you have any facebook account sir,,maybe we can contact each other thru facebook..,yeah maybe that should work 3.14 ruu sir..,can you upload it on mediafire sir if its ok to you..and i cant go thru that t mobile screen with red text sir, when i open my phone it just stuck on black screen with a message "software update failed please try again.." and whats up with the vibrating?? my phone keeps vibrating..
yea I'm with TMacgnolia, , sounds like a stuck radio (albeit it's sticking earlier in the process than expected, perhaps indicating the stuck spl variant.)
combined with the vibrating I'd be thinking hardware, so I'd be trying sd flashing using the freezer trick.

sir yeah we manage to install a custom rom but the problem now is i think its on the cpu..,is there any way to fix this hardware problem..,
I could use some help, having the problem described earlier. I can't get past the 4color boot loader screen, - for a fraction of a second it goes to the insalling screen then comes back to 4color with "Serial" in the white.
Here is what I have on my HD2: Android 2.3.5 Radio 15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14
Here is what I have tried to install through sd card: RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.13.531.1_Radio_15.39.50.07U_2.10.50.26_Signed_LEO_Ship.zip (renamed .zip, was .exe) and T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_3.14.531.1.zip (renamed .zip, was .exe)
I tried 3 different sd cards; (2) 2 gig cards (1) 4gig cards. I reformated several times before copying and renaming the nbh file.
What next? Thanks
just to confirm, you rename the exe to zip, open the zip, extract Ruu_signed.nbh, rename that to leoimg.nbh, copy that t sd and reboot, correct?
also, please confirm that you do in fact have a tmous.
the brief flash usually means the file was renamed incorrectly, for example depending on the file extension settings, it has been known for a file to end up getting called leoimg.nbh.nbh
the fact that it flickers means it is detecting something, but finding a problem.

Thanks. That makes sense. I can't check for 6 or 7 hours until I get home for the day. I'm using W7, and have never really gotten how to view the real extension on a file, not like the good old DOS days. yes I have a tmous. After requesting the help, I tried the same card in my brother's HD2 that I need to restore as well, and got the same response, so it has to be the card/name not my HD2. I'll post back when I check it out. Thanks again.

I renamed the file, making sure there was only one .nbh extension. Still not working. I tried it with both tmos roms, I reformated the card, I tried it on both phones. Obviously, I have done something wrong with the file, but read and re-read the instructions and I can't find what it is.
Any ideas would be great.
