How do I backup from a rom dump?

Hi guys. I have a problem:
I don't want to have any warranty problems, but I don't want to use WM5 either. Vodafone gave me refurbished prophets several times, even after I had flashed AKU3.3 on it, the red theme was enough for vodafone, they didnt ask for a original rom, but I don't want to mess with my luck, so I thought it would be a good idea to have a WM5 rom backup ready:
I made a backup of the rom with the grab_it tool, but I have no idea how to convert it into a flashable format, like nbf.
I tried the "r2sd all" command on a jumpspl'd phone (mtty 1.1/1.42 and trueterm, none of these did work), but it gets stuck after some time, so that doesn't help either.
Dumping with aWizard didnt work the last time I tried it. The os was there I think, but without the bootlogo. And that isnt that great either.
Sadly Vodafone made xda-developers remove their rom backups from the ftp server. damn you vodafone .
So How do I get now get a backup of my rom? I can't hardspl it, because I need a backup of the 2.15 spl too and I dont know any other way to cid unlock my phone.

Restore original ROM.

Hi!
I've been trying some WM6 Roms for my QTEK 9100.
Before I flashed it I did a backup of the phone and ended up with 10 *.fls files.
Now I would like to restore the phone to the original state. Can I do it with these files or is it too late?
Thanks!
Backup files?
I think the backup was just for the personal files like the pimbackup does...
I know that making the hardSPL or unlockin lokiwiz or WST makes the phone loose its warranty I mean no full restore at all but you can back to your original WM% if you have it... on G3 but for G4 hardSPLed you need something more ask on G4 forum please if you are G4.
I have a G3.
I made the backup with a program called WST (Wizard Service Tool).
I can choose write rom from that program but not sure if I will brick my phone if I do it.
The files I have is:
WST_20080824-2226_CID.fls
WST_20080824-2226_EXTROM.fls
WST_20080824-2226_GSMCAL.fls
WST_20080824-2226_GSMRADIO.fls
WST_20080824-2226_HTC_Logo.fls
WST_20080824-2226_IPL.fls
WST_20080824-2226_OS.fls
WST_20080824-2226_SPL.fls
WST_20080824-2226_SPLASH.fls
WST_20080824-2226_UA.fls
Mmmmm neither me...
I already unlocked my wizard when WST has release its first version so why you dont post this trouble on the WST Thread? use the search button to get into the WST thread, maybe the developer can answer your question... and you will be sure about this kind of tricks.
Good luck men!!!

Trying out new roms without risks?

Hello,
I've got a new Xperia including a two year guarantee. So I'am able to exchange my mobile phone in case of some unexpected problems [Windows-Updates are as well possible] But I want to give new roms a try because they partly seem to be really beautiful. Is there the possibility to backup my original rom [I already read http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462926] and restoring it without any changes? When flashing a new rom I have to "install" HardSPL - Is it as well possible to restore the original bootloader?
I would be pleased about useful answers - Thanks a lot
Kind Regards
N0r0
Yes, it's possible to restore the stock ROM and stock_spl in case of guarantee. It's not necessarily required to backup your original ROM. You can download and flash an original ROM.
yes totally possible!
look at the Roms sub Forum @ the stickys. Probably you will find your providers stock rom there, so you dont need to back up your rom manually. (if you do it manually, make sure you do it after a hard reset with no programs and infos from you on it).
But note: If you USB Jack gets faulty or you destroy your phone in any other way you'll not be able to restore or flash anything.
Thanks
Yesterday I flashes some Roms and there's nothin else for it to hope for no problems/crashes In a pinch I'll try to restore everything

In case i need to revert to an original rom, do i need to have the original bootloader, or will hard spl be enough?

Click to collapse
If you want to go back to stock, the easiest thing you can do is first flash the original ROM and then flash back the original SPL.
You could also use sony ericsson update service to get the original ROM back, to then flash SPL back to normal.
