Dear All,
I am one happy customer with my HTC hero, except the following:
1. When accessing gmail, some email message was clipped (...) not completed or truncated. Is there anyway or setting to correct this? Apart from setting up another POP mail ?
2. What's the best way to copy and paste email contents (since when you try to forward a email, the original content of the forwarded email was split into another section, which you cannot EDIT.) You will have to first copy the message and then paste it to the "Composed box". Which I find it very frustrating. A lot of time, when the email content is long, you can only copy bit and pieces of the content.
If anyone know any of the above solutions, would really appreciated it to share with us.
Thanks.

Hi,
I'm using the Athena heavily for mail and am wondering if any of you have come across an application that supports 'drag and drop' of mails into folders like Outlook (or other apps) do on a PC.
The current 'right-click', selecting 'move' and then pointing to the folder is a bit slow and with the amount of mails I get the drag-and-drop would definitely help.
I tried Flexmail and while they support the 3-pane look (folders on the left, email list on top and preview on the bottom - perfect!), this particular function doesn't seem to be in and a question / feature request I put in a few weeks back seemed to have gone straight to /dev/nul
so... anyone... anyone...???
Thanks!
Flex mail is so damn slow.. You'll notice it when your inbox gets bigger.
Currently I dont see any mail application requesting your functionality but I am in a similar situation to handle lot of emails. Usually the mails that you want to sort into a particular folder will most likely have a same or similar subject. Do you know that when you type something when in Inbox screen, it automaticalyy searches and lists the matched mails alone? Then Select-All, move will save a lot of time for me..
Regards,
Carty..
Hi guys,
Through the wonderful creations of a couple of guys here on the forum, I've installed the Deimos Scum Mod theme for the homescreen++ as shown here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...age=5&post=#49
However, everytime I click on the email button, it keeps on going to my outlook main page whenever email shows 0. If there's unread email, it will always go to my messaging main page. But it will always read the correct number of total unread email.
I don't and will never use outlook. I use push gmail through Seven (www.seven.com). Gmail is my primary email account.
How do I change or alter the xml file so that everytime I click the email button (whether there is or isn't any email), so that it will always go straight to my gmail inbox?
This is a perfect theme, except for this little glitch. I tried all the help from the forum archive but it doesn't seem to work.
link isnt working.
Sorry this is the correct link:

It has the cab file inside as well. Please help!
Hi XDA developers,
I have a T Mobile UK HD2 which has the latest 1.72 ROM loaded.
I set up 2 email accounts (vispa and O2) but then found I only need one. I have searched the menus and settings but cannot find out how to remove an email account. Any one able to tell me what clever place I have missed looking in? Ideally step by step for a none expert.
Thanks in advance
Richard
yeah no problem follow this
open up email than go to the inbox ->press menu ->Tools ->options->press and hold over the account you want to delete ->press delete
deleting email - fixed, thanks jmckenna
Hi jmckenna,
Many thanks for a very fast response, email accounts now deleted. Just rebooting to confirm it no longer comes up with incoming email screen with user name and password prompt.
Thanks
Richard
Hi all,
I have a little problem with email links in a email on my HTC HD2. When i click on the link it will open a screen to check the emailadress. And it will put the whole link there and won't recognize the mailto and subject.
What can this be, on my pc the link works correctly and on a iphone or older HTC it works.
thanks for any reply.
eelos.
ps. have tested HTML and plain text, same results
anyone? please help
You're doing the link wrong. Check this page...

Do a "view source" to see the tag.
hi john,
Thank you for your reply. I tried every format, but here is your link.
from the opera browser it works flawless, but when i paste your link in a email i get this
img526.imageshack.us/img526/396/screen001d.png
img268.imageshack.us/img268/6371/screen002wg.png
it asks me to check the emailadres en when i choose the first option to send a email with outlook it paste the whole link there.
maybe you know what's the problem.
eelos.
It's not actually a problem - it's just that it's a clickable link. Copy and paste on a PC would do exactly the same thing.
What are you trying to do exactly?
hi,
No, on the pc it will open up a new email with the adress and subject.
I get work mails on my HTC HD2 with two email links in it, to approv the order or to reject the order.
All my employees get them and it will open a new email with all the parameters and you only have to press send and are sales software (server) gets the message and process its.
It works on the iphone, older HTC models etc.
But the HTC HD2 thinks the whole link is the adress, like in the pictures (sorry no direct links, still a new member.....)
hope you can help.

Okay, so you're saying it works with a mailto: link in web pages, but not ones that are in emails?
If that's the case, then I don't see a way round it. It's just the way pocket outlook behaves.
yes, i think it's the UI (manilla), that opens a screen to check the mailadres before it will go to outlook. If i open it from opera, it will go directly to outlook.
I only think it's strange that i'm the only one stumbling on to this problem.
(google won't give me any other hit)
Will try to contact HTC about this. Thank you John for your time.
greetings,
eelos.

You're welcome mate. Good luck
This may have been covered before but the last one i could find was 2009.
What is the best way of sending your txt message conversation to an email, or have my PC back it up.
Thanks,
Crude but effective, is to tap and drag over the entire conversation to select it, then tap and hold and select Copy from the pop-up menu.
Paste it into a new email message and send it, or paste it into Pocket Word and save it. Copy it to your PC through ActiveSync.
To do this programmatically requires negotiating the POOM interface which is a bit of a pig at the best of times.
Thanks. Are there any programs these days that would allow me to interface my txt messages with outlook? I know there use to be but that was a couple years ago.
There is Microsoft's Outlook Add-In but that is only for pushing out SMS messages from Outlook on your PC, there is no way to go the other way.

I believe Jeyo's Extender may be able to do it. It can be downloaded as a 15 day trial version, but is $20 for the full product.

Try this http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-smssyncup.html
I've never used it so can't really say much about it.

I am not the original author of this program, it was created by computerjunkie. He graciously posted the source code when he stopped development, so I picked up where he left off. The original thread can be found here.
Cloud SMS Backup reads your SMS account and backs up the conversations by emailing them to an account of your choice. You can have them sent as separate emails each containing one of your conversations, or have all your conversations zipped up into one email. It also gives the options to empty your SMS account after backing up to prevent the slowdowns of having too many messages.
