Request: HTC cube for VGA devices (Diamond, Pro etc.) - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I just moved from the Sprint Touch to the diamond. While tf3d is fairly pretty its functionality is buried too deep.
the part I especially miss the swipe up shortcut to the 9 contacts page.
Has anyone been able to port it to the Diamond ? I dont want to replace tf3D just add the swipe up to contacts page feature.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

What can be shown on Homescreen of the HD?

Hi Folks,
i´ve just ordered my Touch HD, and i hope it will come to me before Santa (end of November i guess).
My question is: what can be seen on the homescreen of the HD? Today i use my good old friend, the wizard100. On the Todayscreen i have full Battery and Storage information, Weatherforecast for 4 Days, and calendar appointments showing up to 3 days. Also a today-link for tomtom. Is TF3D able to show this too? I need to see all these things on just one quick view. How customizable is TF3D?
Of coz u can.
Just install the softwares.
Which softwares in particular are you referring to?
My question was how many things is TF3D able to do without any external software. On my Wizard 100 i´ve installed following software: SPB Weather, SBSH Phoneweaver, SPB Time, Calendar+ , DeviceLock, Battrey Status nad TomTom. Except Tomtom i hope that TF3D could show me things like weather,Appointments and other things without installing other software. I like to use the HTC Homescreen, but i dont know how many information it is able to show?
Afaik it has the same home screen as the Diamond but probably with a little more info because of the added screen height. The diamond home screen shows clock, missed call status and first next calendar item.
And this is what i wanted to know: Do you think the HD would show more informations than the normal TF3D from f.e. the Diamond? This must be an complete different TF3D, or not?
It's not completely different, it is in fact rather similar. It has the same tabs bar the stock tab, and most tabs just show a little more info to complement to extra screen height. Also, it has very nice transitions between FLO/programs, much like the iPhone zoom effect.
Same trick is applied on the HD to make it 'feel' more slick and responsive.
Anyway, if you look at the French video on YouTube you will catch a glimpse of many of the tabs, including the home tab. It shows exactly the same stuff as on the Diamond, except I am guessing it will show more upcoming calendar events in the bottom.
You have a choice between TouchFlo3D or the normal Windows Mobile that you used to.
What you have on it will depend what Apps you like, its like your old PDA / PDA Phone. In other words, almost anything.
If you are just talking about the homescreen itself, than you get to see the same thing like on the touch diamond but when you scroll down, the list will be much longer so you can see more appointments. which is a good thing
oh and in the case you didn't know:
there is also a new "customize tabs: rearrange and remove tabs" setting !!

touchflo 3d blocks access to system tray (grounded double post)

Hello. First, I'd like to apologize for double posting, BUT I think this is not wrong because I posted this thread into Raphael thread but it also is an equal issue for Diamond too (which is much more popular). Any moderator can delete this thread without any hard feelings from me if this act seems to be wrong
Here is the post: I am a bit unhappy Touch PRO user because I love touchflo interface but would like also to use system tray-controlled software like openvpn or vsUtil.
I already installed secondtoday (also replaced the "Phone" softkey with it) but there is no way to make REAL tray icons appear there, only fake launcher stuff with Homescreen PLusPlus. The way left to access tray-controlled apps is to quit tochflo today plugin thru loooong series of taps thru settings.
I-d love an alternative such as make real tray icons still appear in Secondtoday or a lightweight tray icons porting popup app. Any other ideas/clues how to get an easy access to tray icons from touchfo....
Thanks for reading
Looking forward to hear Your thoughts

Questions about Touchflo 3D on X1

If I was to install the touchflo 3d onto my X1, what exactly happens? Does a new panel get created specifically for Touchflo 3d? Does the X1's today panel get replaced with it? Or does the X1's entire panel interface get replaced with it? Also, what are those other Blackstone .cab's for that I see floating around?
I am new to this world, but here are my findings:
TF3D is set up as a single big element of the first today screen, and upong installing the Full Cabs of TF3D (or putting a TF3D ROM) you get it setup like this by default.
but you can easily go to setting and reconfigure your Today screen with the default elements like the Owner info and the rest of the stuff.
but there is also a TF3D as panel, that you install after having TF3D already running which creates a panel for TF3D, this my my current situation, i use the Touch-It 3.0 ROM by itje but TF3D disabled from first Today Menu and installed as Panel..
so if I want TF3D as a panel, what do I do? with some many threads and files about this, it gets a little confusing. Could you point me to the correct thread that gives the files and directions on how to get it running as a panel?

Todo's on front screen?

I am looking to buy the TD2 in the next 3 weeks and have a question regarding the touch flo interface
Can you display your upcoming/overdue todo's on the front screen as well as appointments?

Yes you can if you don't use TF3D. In the normal today screen, you can install a plugin called TodayAgenda (google for it) and that allows you to display and edit your Todo list. It's fantastic!
Unfortunately TF3D is not customizable except to remove or reorder its tabs. It does not work with Today screen plugins.
Thanks Jim
I knew I could display them without TF3D as I currently have PocketBreeze on my today screen of my current phone but really like the TF3D interface so I dont have to keep pulling out the stylus to do day to day stuff with the phone.
Are the ToDo's viewable from any of the tabs?

Please tell me how can you reorder the tabs.
I've been looking for this option and I haven't found anything yet.
Searching in this forum revealed only an old application for the "old" Diamond and old Manila.
Go to Settings, and click on Customize Tabs.
You can then untick ones you do not want to appear, and drag others into the order you want.
Thank you!
I've already solved this problem.
When you go to "Customize Tabs" there is a text on top of the page: "Drag Items to rearrange".
I must be blind but I didn't see that. The text is as big as my head but I didn't see it.
Dummy me …
That's what's happening when the interface is too user friendly
but... the items on the agenda do show up on the today screen.. I have a TD2 with TESS essentials ROM (WM 6.1 Manila 2.1), and the items that I have on my calendar do show up on the today screen as one line indicators.. but only when it's the day they are due...

Picture contacts in the form of "square rows" ?

Hello all, I don't really like how the "Favorite People" Contacts are displayed in TF3D, Are there any upgrades/fixes to display the contacts like HTC HOME used to do back in the day? With "Rows" of little squares with the persons picture? I hate the rolodex style scrolling of contacts and the little bar on the side, I'd prefer a bunch of boxes lined up side by side, is this possible? thanks again.
Any cooked ROM with HTC Sense 2.5 (aka TF3D 2.5, Manila 2.5, etc.) ripped from the new HTC Leo has the new contacts tab, which has contacts arranged in a grid, similar to the HTC Home/Manila 2D contacts tab. If you take a look around the Rhodium ROM Development forum, you'll find a variety of ROM choices which have HTC Sense 2.5.
thank you for the fast response. I tried out the Sense 2.5 Rom ripped from LEO and this is exactly what I am looking for but I cannot use this rom. It doesn't recognize the slide-out keyboard and this is a major problem for me. I can't believe people actually use this rom when the phone doesn't go into landscape when the keyboard is slid out..very weird if you ask me. Anyways are there any programs that can give me a favorites tab with the grid I am looking for? thanks.

At the top of this forum, there's a thread titled [RELEASED]Full landscape for manila 2.5[v 1.0][PROJECT PULSE], which is a project to hack landscape support to Manila 2.5. As for the ROMs you've tried, the devices can still be in landscape in every other application. It's only the homescreen which couldn't, and now there's the project I mentioned above which hopes to fix that. But keep in mind that it's still an early release, and it might not work very elegantly.
