Picture contacts in the form of "square rows" ? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Hello all, I don't really like how the "Favorite People" Contacts are displayed in TF3D, Are there any upgrades/fixes to display the contacts like HTC HOME used to do back in the day? With "Rows" of little squares with the persons picture? I hate the rolodex style scrolling of contacts and the little bar on the side, I'd prefer a bunch of boxes lined up side by side, is this possible? thanks again.

Any cooked ROM with HTC Sense 2.5 (aka TF3D 2.5, Manila 2.5, etc.) ripped from the new HTC Leo has the new contacts tab, which has contacts arranged in a grid, similar to the HTC Home/Manila 2D contacts tab. If you take a look around the Rhodium ROM Development forum, you'll find a variety of ROM choices which have HTC Sense 2.5.

thank you for the fast response. I tried out the Sense 2.5 Rom ripped from LEO and this is exactly what I am looking for but I cannot use this rom. It doesn't recognize the slide-out keyboard and this is a major problem for me. I can't believe people actually use this rom when the phone doesn't go into landscape when the keyboard is slid out..very weird if you ask me. Anyways are there any programs that can give me a favorites tab with the grid I am looking for? thanks.

At the top of this forum, there's a thread titled [RELEASED]Full landscape for manila 2.5[v 1.0][PROJECT PULSE], which is a project to hack landscape support to Manila 2.5. As for the ROMs you've tried, the devices can still be in landscape in every other application. It's only the homescreen which couldn't, and now there's the project I mentioned above which hopes to fix that. But keep in mind that it's still an early release, and it might not work very elegantly.

What do people think of Manila 2.5

I just wondered what people thought of the Manila 2.5?
I've tried several ROM's and bugs aside, there are some things I like and some things I hate!
I like the weather on the clock on homepage, but I don't like the shortcuts as i think they are ugly and make the screen look cluttered. I much preferred the old programs tab. I also really need to see more calender data!
I like the new music player look, but dislike the new contacts look.
I really like the deeper intergration of WM into manila UI
I like the coloured icons and general look of manila, and i really love the new messaging system (when the bugs are fixed ).
What do other people think?
I don't like the look of the homescreen, I prefer Manila 2.0/2.1's look.
well.. the same food gives different tastes for everyone .
I like the new homescreen, its more usable, although I think the 3 buttons are too big... sliding down gives more shortcuts, which is more convenient...
I also really like the new people tab shortcut style... the old one is making me crazy when sliding those small thumbnails on the rite...
other than that, I dont know.. never used one before... for me, its all about convenience and usability... there is no point of having nice GUI, but hard to use. And to me, HTC is going on the right track

Manila Mixing Tabs ?

Am I right in assuming you want to mix tabs from Manila 2.1 and 2.5?
I don't think that's possible!
I also really hate the 6.5 Start menu, but what I do like in M2.5 is using the 16-shortcuts cab (its in themes and accessories forum, sorry off to work or would post link), which means that when you pull 'up' on the Manilla homepage you get 16 shortcuts, four to a line (e.g. very similar to 2.1's program list). You might find that useful. (I think Manilla 2.5's default of 3 shortcuts per line on the homepage is very ugly)
sad... well i think i'll go back to a rom with win6.1 and manila 2.1

Contact page from Manilla 2.1 in Manilla 2.5?

Is it possible to get the (old) contact page from Manille 2.1 into Manilla 2.5?
I really don't like the contacts presented in pictures, I really like the vertical sliding in Manilla 2.1 but I DO like the rest of Manilla 2.5 so I don't want to go back to the old one.
thanks!
I 2nd that question. Contacts in Manila 2.1 is way better specialy that you can select the contact and chose what to do with it n 2.1 and not just click and it dials like in 2.5.
I sure hope someone replies to this really important and valid question.

Twitter, 6.5.1 and NO Manila 2.5

Hello guys. I have improved a lot in terms of understanding your language but I still need some help.
I understand that Manila 2.5 roms won't do well with landscape because this is as designed so I am trying to find a ROM that fits this:
- Close buton at bottom interface (is this WM 6.5.1 thing)
- Manila 2.1 / Sense 2.5 / 2.1 - I already know what manila is but I am still trying to understand what Sense is. Since it shows at the Home screen configuration I assume its the HTC interface but if Sense is the interface, what's Manila?
- Twitter integration.
Do we have a ROM that fits those needs? The 2.5 Manila ones aren't good for me because I need the landscape and the 2.1 I've tested doesn't have the nice weather video at home screen nor the Twitter integration...

I'm pretty sure that "Sense" is just the new name for "TouchFlo 3D" at version 2.5. "Manila" is the internal codename of the software, i.e. name of the program that runs, registry keys etc.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong ! So the Terms Manila and Sense are interchangeable really - Manila 2.5 is now called Sense.

2.1 does have weather animation in the home tab...and it runs considerably smoother on rhodium than 2.5 especially when you use your custom background + weather animation
As for twitter tab....its probably not possible to integrate into 2.1....but you can always use 3rd party app
2.1 only recently got the animated weather clock, It showed up the same time It transitioned form Touchflo3d to Sense.
Energy rom "AKEO" is cooked from the new com4 builds your looking for with the buttons at the bottom, and has the Sense package in it. There are others as well I'm sure.

Need some help with HD2 OS customizing.

I'm somewhat new to the UI customizing and need some help to get the desired effect, here's what i want to do, i want to keep the HTC Sense all contacts page, (only cause the functionality is amazing) the htc video and music player, the htc calender, and the HTC settings page (but for it to be set up like the manila windows settings), but i want the home screen to be the Manila Win6.5 screen. any and all help will be appreciated.

I think you're getting the terms confused a little there (which is understandable with this stuff). Manila is just the name for the behind-the-scenes elements of what you know as Sense, which runs on top of WM.
Unfortunately, all of the items you mentioned there are part of Sense, and while you can turn off most of the other tabs you don't want, you can't turn off the home tab without turning Sense off altogether...and when you do that, you then can't access any of the other Sense functions (vid/music players, calendar, settings, etc).
Okay, so is there and tweaks for WM that allow me to get the functionality like the mentioned features of the sense UI? or any that are better, cause as much as i love the SPB stuff, my dad uses it and i just wanna be different...or are there any tweaks for the sense UI that i can use to get what i want? because i kinda want plain WM homepage, but have the links on the homepage go to the parts of the sense UI? (i'll be happy to clarify anything i just said...

I noticed when I used the standard (titanium windows mobile) when I clicked on a few things they would go to the sence version of it but I dont think you can have both...search for titanium wm 6.5 themes and you might find something you like. Sense and SPB mobile shell are way different. Install this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=625483 in my opinion much nicer than SPB mobile and you can still use all your sense icons...search it on youtube for demos
I do like that one, and i know sense and SPB are real different, my dad uses it but i dont want to. D: BTW i got c0okies home tab that toreone suggested, and I LOVE IT! it gives me the freedom to customize it the way i want it, AND it keeps the functionality and the appearance of HTC sense. I <3 xda...

It's all clear, but that's the thing...aside from the messaging client in this build, there's no way to access the sense modules unless sense is running. And when sense is running, you can't access either the standard WM today screen, or the Titanium home screen (the new version of stock WM UI, also built in to your HD2).
Your next option would probably be to just find a 3rd-party app for each of the functions you mentioned...there's plenty of choices in each category, with the exception of the settings. For those, it's either the stock WM settings, or the sense settings, and it sounds like what you're asking for is kind of a hybrid of the two. Since the WM settings are available at the root of the start menu (if you don't have them there when you turn sense off, that can be added), that would be the easiest way to go with that. To find your options for media players and calendars, just do a search on the whole of the xda forums and you'll find a bunch. I don't know much about the calendar apps, but the most common media players in use around here include:
-nitrogen
-coreplayer/tcpmp
-kinoma
-pocket player
EDIT: in the time it took me to write all that, I see now that you've taken toreone's advice and found the joy of CHT...so it's probably a non-issue now anyways

It's called the taskbar, and the one at the bottom where the soft buttons are is just called the softkey bar, just fyi
You can change the color and style of both of those with something like what you'll find in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5807605&postcount=1
Now, if what you want to change is the notification icon set that appears on the taskbar, there's a bunch of different options for that. I personally use and love dinik's anastasia set, found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=679518
I've also used and liked brian's gfreek edition taskbar set, and the phoenix edition B&W taskbar set, at the links below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520547
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=602295
So could i use the taskbar and softkey bar color changer along with the icon sets?

yes, those elements aren't interdependent like that. most any visual part of sense can be changed independently of the others...but not all though
Okay, cool, hmn... is there a tweak that will getrid of the t-mo startup animation but keep the windows one... found!
