Hi y'all,
A friend gave me his Nike (branded as a T-Mobile TouchPlus). It was locked to T-Mobile (UK). I'm on Orange.
So I paid olipro for his unlock service.
The first part (flash hard spl) goes okay.
Then, every time I flash the radio it gets to 100%, but then I'm told there was an error. The phone freezes on the tri-colour screen and I have to use MTTY to make it boot.
I've emailed olipro several times but he hasn't answered.
Does anybody have any idea what's going wrong, and what I should do? I went into a store today that offers unlocking. They guy said he'd have to send the phone away for a few days, at a cost of £35.
I don't mind paying, cos I like the phone and what it can do. But is there an easier/cheaper way? I already paid olipro!

I have recently updated my sofware on the O2 website and after following the instructions to the letter the screen will just show a mess of green and red dots all over the screen in vertical sections?
I have tried a hard reset soft rest and all the other posible resets i can do but still this screen wont go away?????
Please help if you could suggest anything

I have had exactly the same happen to me, it appears that O2 are total amateurs when it comes to supplying ROM upgrades. not only that but you will find that the support no. on the site actually takes you nowhere. I sent mine back to the supplier and after trying to reflash the ROM they were unsuccessful and so i am now waiting on a new XDA. Dont bother with O2 as they were no help at all to me, firstly i couldnt get through at all and after 2 weeks of emailing them every day i got a response telliung me how to put the unit into boot loader mode (no help at all!!!!!)
Good luck to you in getting this issue resolved, i only hope that you have it insured like myself.
Once again O2 you are indeed crap!! thanks for the service that i didnt recieve, altho i pay way over the odds for this otherwise worthy handset.

my phone is using a vodafone sim card and i bought the phone off ebay so reciepts etc are nowhere

I tried unlocker and now my device is dead.
I have a x7500 that is broken so i bought a x7501 and downloaded unlocker and tried it and dead.
i charged the battery with other phone to make sure it isn't battery.
when i put the battery in it wont turn on.
when i plug it in with the battery inside no lights come on when i hit re reset button the red light blinks. when i take the battery off and replug the red light is on but it wont work.
what do i do now.
please help me...
Please describe exactly what you did, any error messages, and anything that you saw on the 7501 screen. It will help us diagnose the problem.
It asked me to debug something or ignore it and i hit continue to ignore and then the device turned off and died.
Which version of the unlocker did you use?
Im Shipping it out to HTC RMA. let see if they can replace it.

I have the same situation here. Same thing with the red-light single blink when I try to reset or bootloader reset or hard reset.
I am interested to hear what HTC says, if they void warranty with a flashed ROM or anything like that. I paid full price for the unlocked phone, so I hope they will support it.

looks like my bootloader is corrupted by Olipro unlocker i do not know wot to do now. im feeling sick customer is waiting to get his phone unlocked and upgraded to wm6.

OK. the good news is that they said it was the mother board and they replaced the mother board. FREEEEEEEE.

You have bricked your Advantage. Service needed. I did the same 2 months ago (mainboard replaced as well - FOC). Olipro released new version of unlocker. Second time was OK.

I used the Version 2.0 and vista.
It could have been vista... I dont know. i will get the device back 2maro and give it another shot with xp.

oh so you used the right version. did it say version 2.0 on it? can you tell us what did you use with vista, activesync or device center?
also, when did it throw the message about to debug the program? the athena died after you reset it?

I bricked my 7501 a month and a half ago. I sent an RMA request and explained i purchased the unlocked version, and then I sent in my old phone and they sent me a new one, no questions asked.
I think I used OliPro's unlocker previously, and to make matters worse, on vista. I think I'll stick to XP now, and use hardSPL.

so i sold my blackberry pearl and added 100.00 for a nice cingular 8525. i needed to unlock this phone so i came across "pof" tutorial and methods of unlocking myself.. i went through the process thinking i did have 1.04 radio because when i go to bootloader (tri color screen) it shows IPL 1.04 and spl-shipped.. so i thought 1.04 was the version... the tutorial mentions spl-xxx is the version but mine says shipped.. (whats with that? ) so basically i followed the steps and later got sucess word and punched in the code given by "pof" but it didn't work and now says "you have tried 6 times and wait until time"
so i don't want to screw this up anymore so come to you guys for help..
so i went to the device system menu
and radio version says 1.48
rom version is 3.0
win 6 mobile
phone is cingular and my sim card is tmobile
so i guess i have 1.48 and not 1.04 that is needed to unlock myself... so i heard if i don't have 1.04 i need to get the imei number and get the unlock code so i went to http://www.wirelessunlocks.com/ and hopefully the code they give me will work.. i paid 7.99 for this service..
so my questions.
1. since i followed "pof" instructions and got sucess at the end.. despite having a 1.48 radio version... did i permanently damage my phone? or i think the word is "bricking".
2. Wirelessunlocks.com i used... to get the code number (which hasn't come yet) does these services have a high sucess rate?
3. if the wirelessunlocks.com service doesn't seem to work.. what are my other options? perhaps i can downgrade to 1.04 from 1.48 ? or any method so i can start using this phone will be great.. has been very frustrating...process but i'm learning

When I first unlocked AT&T 8525 my phone, I read up all the articles on how it could be bricked, and by the time I finished reading them, I figured, well.....if my phone bricks....then, it was meant to be, lol. I used the pof unlocker v3a the day I got my phone, and it worked. I have no idea what version of spl, or ipl I had before, but the way that they talk about it on the site, it seems that its safe to use with any HERM100 phone. Oh, and when your phone is a brick, it means that it is useless, whether it be that when you turn it on, it freezes at the startup screen and never loads windows, or whether it doesnt turn on anymore, or any state that seems hopeless. I think that if your phone enters a state where it keeps going to the bootloader mode, that it still can be saved, but I'm not 100% sure. If anyone else reads this and disagrees, please correct me! Oh, and when you get your phone unlocked, feel free to contact me about any cool things you wanna do to it. I got about 6 months of experience now, lol. Doesn't come close to some of the senior members who create their own roms now, lol, but I can still be of help!
Ok, monkeyisland90, radio rom has got NOTHING to do with unlocking the hermes. Its the IPL & the SPL. To see these go into bootloader screen. How to do so are in Pofs instructions.... Follow the instructions STEP by STEP and you cant go wrong. A large number of people have done this successfully (including myself) so you should have no trouble. Most people "skip ahead" and thats how you will get into hot water. Try again and I think, if you go step by step, you will have no trouble. Dont forget to install hard SPl on before upgrading roms though. It'll help if things go wrong( and they will at least once) to recover your Phone. If the radio rom seems to work ok and there is no real battery drain LEAVE IT ALONE... This is probably the riskiest part to flash as a failure generally means a brick. Most, if not all, cooked roms dont include a radio so can be considered safer to flash. Personally I prefer to use the sd card method of flashing as there has been less problems for me with this method but it comes down to personel preference. Happy Flashing......
but when going to the bootloader (tricolor screen) it says

spl-shipped..
and pof says that after spl-xxx it should be your rom version.. but mine says shipped.. what the heck does that mean?
is this where i need to do the hard spl?

I stumbled across them while googling unlock sites...7.99 is a tough deal to beat, but the site was only registered in February and looking through HoFo, here and googling wirelessunlocks.com, yours is the only first-person account I've seen of ordering through them.
So...are they any good?

just apply Hardreset or simple softresets, wich rom do you have? maybe your abatt is dead... maybe you install something weird

Stop posting everywhere and read this, download the leaked official TMO upgrade from the link in my sig, you will not need hardSPL as this is an official upgrade from T-Mobile.
Can you post some detail about the problems you're seeing and the processes you've tried?
Some helpful information would be:
What OS is the computer you're running the SPL installer on?
Step by step, how did you attempt the SPL install? When and how did it fail? What were the errors (if any)?
I know when I did the SPL install, I had a driver problem on my XP computer. It was an easy fix, but not something obvious.

Simple, fill out a support ticket for the HardSPL unlocker (here) explaining your situation, any and all error messages, and everything you've tried so far. Olipro/cmonex should hopefully get back to you soon. They know a lot more about HardSPL and the unlocker than anyone else considering they designed and made it, so they should be able to solve your problem easily.
Man you guys are way too nice... $100 is a nice chunk towards your next phones... lol j/k!! Good looking out.

I bought a Touch HD off ebay which was an orange original unit but was unlocked so I could use any sim in it. However, two weeks into buying it and it started to vibrate as soon as I switched it on. I contacted HTC who replaced the whole of the internal boards and sent it back to me. i got it back this morning and now its asking me for a sim unlock code??? I get a white screen saying the network is locked and a long box in which to put an unlock code.
Is there any way I can re-unlock the phone without putting this code back in or do you think I'm going to have to ask HTC for a code???

Well first of all, all Touch HD's vibrate when they are switched on, but I assume you mean it kept doing it and wouldn't stop with yours or something. And secondly I'm sure HTC won't give you an unlock code to re-unlock your phone as you say it is an Orange branded device, but it's worth asking them. If they won't help you then your only options are to take it to a shop to have it unlocked, or do it yourself at home via one of the many unlock websites. You'll have to pay for these options though.

Ive sussed that it is indeed been relocked back to orange. The have apparently sent me a new replacement phone so I will have to get it unlocked( tried an orange cheepo sim this morning and didnt get the request for a code)
I cant believe I didnt think about it properly but Im that up to my eye balls with assignments and essays for uni my mind has been all over the place this past few weeks LOL
I was wondering if the unlock software from Oilpro might do the trick. Ive priced locally and it means being without the phone for four days and paying......35 quid to unlock it.
Back in the day when I had my SP3100 the software was free but I realise that I havent been a really active member on the forum- mainly because you guys are so damned brainy and I dont feel I have anything to contribute like you do. Give me a camera and I can talk for days( am a tog doing a ba hons degree in photography) but phones and techy stuff about roms....well, Im at a loss. Maybe thats a course I should take next LOL

forgot to say that it did indeed vibrate all the time when switched on( and got damned hot too) but that has now been sorted with a new phone.....
I did the OliPro way and it was easy to do. One of the cheapest options too I think.
Just tried to buy the unlock software from oliopro's site and tried to use paypal and it wont let me pay via that method. Its asking me to create an account and give my credit card details...
I'm not willing to give any details like that ATM and my money is tied up in a paypal account too.
If Oliopro is reading this any help gratefully received.
