[REQ] Software to block unknown calls - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Hey guys,
I once had a program which I could block anonymous phonecalls automaticly with, but now I can not find that program and neither the name of the program. I found a program called "BlackList" but it does only support blocking ALL phone calls or just a black/white-list. So that is not what I am searching for...
Hope someone can help me out

the problem with that program is that it rings once, and then stops the phonecall so you still get bullied

on a previous winmob phone I managed to get a witheld number to save as a contact with a silent ringtone (2 seconds of blank ringtone). Worked rather nicely. haven't tried it on the TP2 yet, but then not many folks know the new number yet

Caller ID problems

In the last weeks I had probelms, because my qtek 2020 doesn't show the caller name, but only the number, for some calls.
I noticed that sometimes it do it also for outgoing calls.
I find the contact and call and after the call there is a number written instead of the name.
Is there a solution for this?
Thanks for the answer,
Uros
My lovely new swanky XDA2 is a waste of space in this respect too, as even after a reset or power off, my Caller ID app displays a photo in at most, about 45% of my incoming calls.
It's damn well driving me mad, and pEEs poor on the part of the XDA2.
Someone PLEASE tell me there is a way to get it to work for ALL my incoming calls, not just some of them on a very random basis.
I even find that re-running the app, so that it is a process in memmory, still makes no difference...

I took out the four xflashman.lnk from the startup folder gaining 4 processes for the 32 processes limitation.
True or not, my caller_ID works 100% now.
I dont use the permamnent save, so I could do it.
Hope this may help you.
What is the xflashman.lnk file etc please?

Hi,
I am sorry, I wrote "x" as a variable...
I meant:
aflashman.lnk
cflashman.lnk
nflashman.lnk
tflashman.lnk
They are used to startup the permament save. I do not use it, so I released these 4 processes removing them from the \windows\startup folder.
Everything works much better now (no more hangs from Activesync and caller ID works 100% )
Bye

Call Filter

I had a Palm software phone (Treo 600) before my current MDA Compact and the Palm had two programs that i cannot seem to find for this PocketPC, can anyone suggest a program
1/ a Call filter, one that does not pass the calls onto the voicemail a filter that will pick up and drop. The Parm one when you had a blocked call it sounded to the caller that they had been cut off, i have been given SmartFilter but you just end up with lots of voice messages.
2/ Was a SMS response program once set if you recieved a text it would make no sound but would send a reply with a message you had set.
as said two usefull program that i cannot find for PocketPC, have i missed then if so can anyone please tell me the names.
Better still PM to me

I have tried that program and it looks very good but is restricted to only 10 numbers from your contact list. I will keep my eye on this program but as said so far it looks very good.

I have a copy of Smartphone and yes it is good except if anyone calls you and they are blocked it goes straight to the voicemail. So i ended up with voicemails, i think a really good call filter should except the call (silently) and just hang up. Smartphone is good but could be better if it picked up and dropped the unwanted calls instead of pointing them to voicemail.
not quite true
it takes it's divert from the phone 'busy' setting.... I think the default is voicemail on busy, but in the phone settings, you can specify another number other than voicemail... I put in my office number....go to the phone application and then the 'call divertl settings
not sure what you mean by pickup and hangup....sounds a bit rude really to the poor caller!
I don't get what you want?
You want the phone to receive a call, and then just hang it up?

What i am after is simple, work ring me weekends and using Smart Filter i end up with a load of vorce mails i dont want that. Now Call Filter when you choise a number to ignore just hangs up No Call and No Voice Mails - Great. I will be glad when he has finished the program as its grippled to only 0 numbers from your phone book at the moment.

Does anybody know if there is application like call manager for my i-mate? I would like to limit some incoming calls and let others come through.

Mine usually does, but NOT over Bluetooth headset (that's explained in the documentation). However, if the calling number isn't identifiable (e.g., no caller ID), it won't announce anything at all. I've also noticed that sometimes it stops announcing incoming calls altogether; probably a reset will help, or perhaps it doesn't announce when ActiveSync or other connections are in operation, not sure...I'll keep an eye on mine and let you know. In any case, it can be spotty, sometimes yes and sometimes no. Cheers,

sorry if this sounded wrong but crap referes to the problem & not the forum, am here since 2 years, i have provided solution & would never leave this forum
anyhow i went back to 1.5 its perfect, untill someone figures the problem i will install 1.6 back

I as well am runnin 1.6 and names get annouced, but not thru bluetooth either I must've missed that in the documentation because it is set to bluetooth. But even "unknown callers" have their numbers read out aloud

[REQ] Visual Voicemail program (willing to pay!)

Hey everyone. For a long time now I have been waiting for someone to design a visual voicemail program for Windows Mobile. Unfortunately, it seems no one has been interested, which I find rather odd. There are a number of services available now that allow for customized voicemail storage, YouMail and Grand Central being the most popular. They also have the option to send a copy of the voicemail to your email with call details and the audio file as an attachment. I have been using YouMail to do this for the last year or so. Unfortunately, they don't offer a front-end for this. They have a mobile website page, but frankly I'm not impressed. What I have been hoping for is a program that will read the emails and parse out the appropriate information, and play the attachment. I have attached a picture of what I was envisioning. Anyone think they're up to the task of realizing this project?
Great idea, I myself would love to have this, it's one of the few things I miss from my old Treo. But, I don't know if it's possible to get info like the message time, caller name, and number. It would be a simple set of buttons that could be configured properly to choose an option.

Message time, caller name and number are all in the body of the email that is sent. It'd just be a simple matter of parsing the data correctly
i think the major issue no one has done it yet is because everyone uses some different service.
its not like ok all the iphone ATT people use X visual voicemail service and the vZW people have Y service. Youre talking about an interface for every possible service like grandcentral or those forwarding services- theres at least a dozen and they all use different audio formats and such.
The real issue is consolidation to please everyone, and devs dont want to put time into make niche programs for every possible service.

That's true, but the thing about that is that a) there are only a few voicemail services out there, and only a couple that a lot of people use (YouMail, GrandCentral, SpinVox, and b) in order for a program to support all of them, the only thing you would have to change would be to tell the program which email format you are looking at. In other words, you'd only have to specify the parsing format, which would be a relatively simple and short section of the code that could be specified in settings. Also, they don't all use different audio formats, they use standard ones which would all be played by the same standard API call, so that's not an issue either. Anyway, hopefully this thread piques somebody's interest.

The email that you get from YouMail or GrandCentral or whatever voicemail service you're using (the email that has the audio as an attachment).

Did they just release a new update or something? I tried mVisualVoicemail and it didn't parse the YouMail emails correctly and also didn't play the .mp3 attachments.
Does youmail work in the UK? Iv never thought of a service like this, and it actually appears useful.

Unless they have a UK # to forward to I wouldn't think so...the forwarding # is USA based and since it uses conditional call forwarding rates you'd be paying international minutes.
i've been using callwave for my visual voicemail with att this before they started making you pay i just gotta email sayin that there goin to end the beta program so i'm thinkin about switch back to youmail one think i don't like is that youmail doesnt automatically update after you recieve a new message
but the developers are working on it

I had the same problem about 8 months ago, so i was using callwave, but since its no longer free i switched back to youmail. mvisualvoicemail parses the names perfectly, doesn't do .mp3 though, only .wav

I'm not sure how you're saying that. It does the name sometimes, but not when the call was, or the duration of the call, or anything else like that, and as you mentioned, it doesn't play .mp3s so all together it's hardly a sufficient solution. Is there anyone here interested in developing a working solution?
