Call Filter

I had a Palm software phone (Treo 600) before my current MDA Compact and the Palm had two programs that i cannot seem to find for this PocketPC, can anyone suggest a program
1/ a Call filter, one that does not pass the calls onto the voicemail a filter that will pick up and drop. The Parm one when you had a blocked call it sounded to the caller that they had been cut off, i have been given SmartFilter but you just end up with lots of voice messages.
2/ Was a SMS response program once set if you recieved a text it would make no sound but would send a reply with a message you had set.
as said two usefull program that i cannot find for PocketPC, have i missed then if so can anyone please tell me the names.

Any way , click on that link and you will see one of the programs that you can use, but as said, do a search and you will get a lot more answers.

Sorry "Hello" i was tired .
thank you i did a search but got a page full and was too tired to go through everyone.
Next time i will search harder and there was no need to shout.

Hi again. I think that you must give a try to that program,because it is doing very well the job that you are specting.

I have tried that program and it looks very good but is restricted to only 10 numbers from your contact list. I will keep my eye on this program but as said so far it looks very good.

try http://www.novomobile.com/smartfilter.php versions for both smartphone and pocket pc......... absolutely brilliant product.... i use it on holiday to allow only REALLY essential calls through and to divert all the others through to my office

I have a copy of Smartphone and yes it is good except if anyone calls you and they are blocked it goes straight to the voicemail. So i ended up with voicemails, i think a really good call filter should except the call (silently) and just hang up. Smartphone is good but could be better if it picked up and dropped the unwanted calls instead of pointing them to voicemail.

it takes it's divert from the phone 'busy' setting.... I think the default is voicemail on busy, but in the phone settings, you can specify another number other than voicemail... I put in my office number....go to the phone application and then the 'call divertl settings
not sure what you mean by pickup and hangup....sounds a bit rude really to the poor caller!

You want the phone to receive a call, and then just hang it up?

What i am after is simple, work ring me weekends and using Smart Filter i end up with a load of vorce mails i dont want that. Now Call Filter when you choise a number to ignore just hangs up No Call and No Voice Mails - Great. I will be glad when he has finished the program as its grippled to only 0 numbers from your phone book at the moment.

My own Call Filtering/Call Firewall

I write a Call Filtering program. It works in most PPC 2003 and WM 5.0. Unlike some similar program sometimes doesn't work well, this is perfect!
It supports:
- Black/White List
- Block All Without SMS
- Block All With SMS
Feel free to try it.

I also think that voicemail /answering machine is a good idea :idea: ! After all, SMS is limited in some situation.

I think this is a great tool.
I would be able to leave my phone on in the weekends (when I need loads of sleep ) and only a few (emergency numbers) would be able to contact me.

This tool is great. Fix a answering machine to and it would be great..
If you fix a answering it would be cool with like two functions on it so you can let the one who calls you decide if he wants to recive a sms with my mail adress on a sms if press #2 or something =D

I've got a doubt : what is the difference between Black list and White list ?
I thought the phone numbers in white list were able to join me whereas the others phone numbers can't.
And the Black list was the people to be redirected to my answering machine whereas the other number can reach me.
I ask this question because I try with my wife phone number : I put it in the white list and she was not able to reach me (I saw that it was block by CF)

Unfortunately there is a more stable/mature application (CSB), that's been around for a while now, that is able to do everything you're asking for.

I have myself developed a Profiles application. But I am not willing to reinvent the wheel, given there is a bunch of other 'Profilers' out there that do much more than my application does.
You'd better try to make your application 'different' from the others in some way.

Thank you all. I have added an icon in SysTray and updated the CAB file. Now you can know the status of CF on the today screen.

- could it be possible to create a log of the blocked Calls ?
- coud you add an exit option and a link to the CF settings and in the today icon ?
I try to put numbres in the balck to test but when I test to call myself with this phone numbers, nothing happen... I'm missing something if you could explain this it would be great :wink:

I'm sorry I cannot test hidden numbers blocking now.
If you enable black list, all incoming calls in black list will be blocked.
If you enable white list, all incoming calls NOT in white list will be blocked.
Outgoing calls are never blocked.

Sorry but it doesn't work for me (Qtek 9100 - WM 5.0)
When I choose black list => nothing happen, incoming calls in black list aren't blocked. Same for those who aren't in the black list.
And when I choose white list all incoming calls in white list are blocked.

I have tested it in i-mate JASJAR WM5.0. Do you save your change?
If you did it, I cannot realize what's wrong.
Maybe you can also check whether the incoming call number is the same with the one in list. I mean both have the prefix "+" or not.

I tryed this software on the Xda Executive and I have the same problem:
Numbers saved in the Black list are not blocked
Numbers saved in the White list are block
You have said in the earlier post that the Black list are blocked and the White list are not blocked.
Can you please check your coding it looks like you have got them the wrong way round.

Caller Id Gone

I did a search and it seems this has popped up before but no1 had an answer.
I've had my MDA for months now, and only a few days ago did this start happening. This happens for all calls. Including ones i have saved on SIM and phone. I even have some ppl with specific ringtones assigned, the ringtones work, but no caller ID.
When i get an incoming call, i only see half the Incoming Call Notification Bubble.
I don't get the CALLER's ID. I get INCOMING CALL and the answer or ignore options.
Thats it.
I've searched in all the phone options i could think off, maybe thinking i accidentally turned off the ID setting. But for the life of me can't find it.
I really do not want to hard reset, as I've had my device setup perfectly the way i want it...Any help or guidance is much appreciated.

I've suspected of currupt photo files 'cause me tom tom navigator lost iz settings at the same time. So i've copied the photos again from the PC and didn't fix it. When I try to add a pic to a contact, the program just freezes when I hit "preview".

Hey guys,
I once had a program which I could block anonymous phonecalls automaticly with, but now I can not find that program and neither the name of the program. I found a program called "BlackList" but it does only support blocking ALL phone calls or just a black/white-list. So that is not what I am searching for...
Hope someone can help me out

the problem with that program is that it rings once, and then stops the phonecall so you still get bullied

on a previous winmob phone I managed to get a witheld number to save as a contact with a silent ringtone (2 seconds of blank ringtone). Worked rather nicely. haven't tried it on the TP2 yet, but then not many folks know the new number yet

excuse me, my english is not perfect but what is a 'witheld number'? does that mean you added a contact in your phone without a number as the phonenumber??

Need an app that forward selected calls

Here's my scenario,
I'm receiving calls from 3 people that are annoying, I'm not looking for to block these people, but looking an app that can REDIRECT these SELECTED CALLERS to the number of my CHOOSING.
please help me find an app that forwards calls (THAT DOES NOT TAMPER WITH VOICEMAIL)

This won't help with your scenario, but might be useful for future reference.
Google Voice offers this functionality by default. You can send those callers to another number, or straight to voice-mail, or block them entirely if you choose.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any WinMo apps that will do that.

Not sure if MagiCall will help you. You can set up custom rules for each number.
Worked great when I was getting annoying calls.

I normally was using Magi call, but have it under hang up and drop. Problem is that it hangs up a second later (they can still hear my background and notice that it the call is being hanged up for the 1 second).
I have tried about 2-3 apps that they are suppose to block the call, instead it send s them to voice mail (I don't want them to have access to my voice mail) or does hang up immediately. Only if there is a TRUE CALL BLOCKER is would consider it.
I now focusing in finding a app that forwards these selected callers to any number of my choosing.
There has to be an app like this, someone hopefully comes through with that answer.

I'm looking for the same thing and PhoneAlarm Pro does support this feature from what I've read. I downloaded the Pro version and installed it. But after restart, it will get stuck on the main screen and nothing else will show. I waited for a while to see if it will load but nothing ever happened and I kept restarting over and over. I finally ended up doing a hard reset. I'm running on the Leo Cell Evo v5 rom tmobile and I don't know if it has something to do with it, but I don't feel like flashing to another rom to see if it works for me so I'll just leave it alone and let someone else figure it out.
