Macroy,
What was the initial security problems in the first place? I am just wondering.
Cheers.
this is a new fix? they released one about a week ago as well...
I think this "new" fix is exactly the same as the one published on the 15th July. I don't have the original fix file to do a SHA-1 compare though.
This fix wouldn't install on my HD with 1.56 ROM, gave a device incompatible error.
Bluetooth Fix
Hi PoisonWolf!
This fix correct the security problem that was not correctly fixed in the previusly fix for a week ago you can reed more on the HTC site

In official RU ROM it works perfect...
How was this link found? The download does not exist in HTC when trying to find it from a number of routes. It always says the message "There are currently no software downloads available in this category."
Anyway, thanks for the link. My serial number worked and I have flashed the ROM. As has already been noted it looks the same as the one udk released recently.
Can upgrade from SD Card , i lost the cable!!!!

Thanks for the info. It's weird, that the file date still seems to be Jan. 7, 2009 (which is when people were having problems with it). However, I installed it just now and it worked fine.
Here is the link for other people.
Yes, can confirm! The new fix works fine. Release Date is the same, but filesize is different.
Works fine!

Do I need to uninstall the old version of this hotfix first? If so, which one is it? I've got three on the device:
BLA00241
BLA02889
BLA03337
Or can I just install the new version on top of the old hotfix?
Unistall Hotfix BLA03337 (slider fix) and the antifix(if you installed it), then download and install the new slider hotfix from htc support.

no, I overwrite the new one without unistalling the prev version.
it's BLA03337, if you want unistall it before use te new hotfix.
That's strange the UK got 4 fixes and when I look on the dutch site I only see 2
Is it still possible to download them ? even if there are english
Installed again and now the video caller icon appears again.
Thkx for the tip
Unfortunately, I unistalled the old hotfix (the one which messed up the videocall button) before installing the "new" hotfix, and now I cannot install it anymore: it says "please use the correct version". And BTW the text is still there... any ideas?
Does anybody still have the old version of the hotfix, such that I can try to reinstall it?
** EDIT:
I managed to get rid of the hotfix and have the video call button back thanks to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468608
Thanks

Hi everyone,
first of all sorry for my English.
with the rom 1.48 i remember there was a problem with the calendar: every appointment set to repeat every year was set the correct day, but always on random month. for example, an appointment on 15 February set with never repeat is saved correctly but if i set for repeat every 15 February then was set on 15 January 2011
i think that with the new rom, 1.66, this bug was fixed, but there is the same issue. it is very annoying.
There is a patch to fix it?
Thanks for the assistance

Hi!
Sorry for my bad english.
If you go to HTC website the calender fix is still there. And it's still for all ROM versions. So I guess we have to install the fix again, after installing 1.66 ROM.

Hi all
Everybody seem to be getting the update except for me :-(
I m using a debranded Orange(UK 2.73.61.66) Hero in India. And I rooted it and was running V ROM 10.3.2 peacefully. But I went back to my stock ROM(did RUU update) to get the official update. which is not happening at this moment.
So, first question, Am I supposed to get the update now..?? (Because HTC.com/uk site tells that its being released)
Second, whats that date trick again..? which everybody seems to be talking
And Sorry for creating a new thread, Didn have patience to search through all other threads

forward month and the year. Restart and wait.
You should have 405 prior to getting 2.1. Rather, you have 61...
You don't even need to restart - as soon as the phone figures out that its internal date is over two weeks after it last checked, it will check for update again. Mine did within 30 seconds after changing the date.
Only reason why this might not work is if you advanced the date before - in that case, you need to advance it even further.

Thanks for the reply guys. But was just wondering whether there is combination of brand and place to get the update. Like if u have Orange branded and u need to be in UK or something like that. (Coz I m in India, Strangely Indian versions have already received the updates)
FYI I have advanced the date to August..!! Still no luck :-(
If I read the numerous thread correctly, Orange UK users with carrier-crippled handsets don't see the OTA update at all yet. Someone correct me please if I'm wrong, though.
There is already a thread ** Official 2.1 UK UPDATE Thread ** .
Keep posts in the same area regards to this update then everyone can find it.

Yeah. Its true that they have not released the update for Orange Hero's. But I have seen threads where people did mention of receiving updates for Orange Hero.
So was just wondering
