Hey everyone,
I wanted to taket the time and say a quick thank you to everyone that has taken time out of thier schedules to try cook roms, tweak registries, and build cabs to share with the community. Being a college student I can tell you that there are numerous times that I wanted to throw my device out of the window due to issues that I did not understand. I have always been fairly tech savy but I am new to the PPC WM world. I have always been able to visit this site for help, and to find whatever else I needed to unlock the full potential of my device. Even though I cannot donate to everone, I just wanted to let you know that your hours of hardword and frustration are very much appreciated by myself, all of the other members, and the thousands of un-named that visit the site on a day to day visit. Just remember this when you feel that you are not getting the recognization that you deserve. There are thousands of people out there that you help on a day to day basis. Keep up the good work and always remember that you are appreciated.
P.S. I was not sure wher eto post this but feel free to move it to whatever forum you feel would best suite it's needs.
I wish to do the same, just can't find enough word to show my appreciation. That is why I'm going to say one simple and huge: THANK YOU!
I too would like to thank all of the developers here. I can tell you I was about to buy a new phone when I happened across this site and brought my Blue angel into 2008 with all the wonderful ROMs and software found here. Thank you all no matter how big or small your contribution has been it has been appreciated. As I am not a coder all I can offer is support, which I try to do as regularly as possible here. To everyone keep up the great work.
I too would have to add to this. If it wasn't for this site and its hard working developers I wouldn't realize the full potential of my cell-y.
The only way I can contribute to this site is by donating to these talented and hard working developers so that they may continue to create some of the most usable/innovative programs only to ask for donations in return.
Much Appreciated to all....
Huge THANK YOU to all the cookers and developers indeed!
Without this site and all the people here my life would be shallow and meaningless misery...Well, not exactly, but thank you anyway!
Thank you!
The Wingster: Access to all of the best Programs, ROMs, and Hacks for your T-Mobile Wing
As many of you already know, I created a website called "The Wingster", which is dedicated to everything for the T-Mobile Wing.
Programs - All programs are tested for compatibility with the Wing, any bugs or issues are reported, screenshots are created, features are listed, and more. I'm making all the apps on XDA accessable by the common user!
ROMs - There are a lot of ROMs out there, and since the cooks are busy creating newer versions, they don't always have time to make a nice detailed description page about their ROM. So I do it for them! Don't spend all of your time digging through a lengthy thread, if there was anything important that happened, it will be on The Wingster!
More - The Wingster is the place for everything T-Mobile Wing. If anything important happens about the phone, I'll be sure to tell everyone. The Wing II (HTC Touch Pro 2) will also be added to the site once I get it this July!
Enjoy using The Wingster!
Sneak Peak: A Mobile Wingster is coming in the near future! You can already visit the page, but I'd recommend not, because I'm still working on it. If you'd like an idea of how the mobile page will look in it's final version, visit this page. I know The Wingster is already freakin fast at loading, but I just wanted to make an even better mobile version!
And donations are always welcome! I've gotta pay $15 a year for the awesome website domain, so you've all got about 10 months to come up with $15 so we can keep the site! Just kiddin, I can pay that myself, but it'd be nice if I didn't have to. So yea, send the donations via Pay Pal, here: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=5401195
I hope I've helped all of you! And if anyone cannot donate with money, a nice reply saying how I helped you is always welcome! Just knowing that I'm helping everyone here makes me even more motivated to make the site better!
Thanks everyone, and thanks to Ivan especially, his awesome ROMs inspired me to make The Wingster.
Donations
C Peters: $15 My thanks to C Peters for being the first to donate!

Hi guys and gals, first I'll introduce myself properly. My name is Chris, I'm 22 and live near leeds in england. I'm currently setting up a small blog interviewing android developers to give the general public a little look into the life of a developer. My aim is to try and help people realise that developers however great or small have a life beyond programming. It will also help advertise work created by some of the lesser known devs out there.
Currently I have only interviewed one developer and am uploading that at some point today, but I do have a list of others I intend to speak with.
I've even had a suggestion from one of those developers to interview an XDA moderator, to show you guys how much junk they have to put up with and clean on a regular basis to help give you the nice friendly happy community we have now. (Mikey, your name was mentioned but any mod can participate)
So without further ado, the blog address is interviewing-devs.blogspot.com
As a comic twist to the whole thing, I intend to do the whole thing from my G1 which is proving a little complicated as I seem to be getting a few FC errors with androblogger, and the blogger website looks a little funky on the G1.
As a quick note, there is no profit to be made by myself doing this, but I will be placing donation links for each developer interviewed.
So, if you're a dev and want to join in, let me know. If you know a dev and would like to see an interview, let them know about me and get them to contact me
Code:
Interview with Maxisma online now
Many thanks to all the devs on my list so far for making this whole thing possible, and also a huge thanks to everybody here for having a community worth joining.
You should interview the Wrecking Crew to show what we have to put up with too.

Mornin I sent you a shout out in another post. It looks like it's gonna be me and you and codini today. Gridlock told me he ain't gonna be on til like 8 tonight. I think he just don't want to get flamed like friday.
Interviewing devs is nice but if you want to catch the entire view of the G1 hacking/modding/rooting whatever term you want to use world. Then you need the point of view from new users, seniors, and devs. Remember devs don't deal with problems unless the problem effects alot of people and is verified by themselves or people he trusts. Also there wouldn't be an interest in a dev's interview without the masses following his work. Get those interviews first so you can ask the correct, hard hitting questions to the devs.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm at work at the moment but once I get home, Maxisma's interview will be posted, and I'll move onto another dev. At the moment probably the biggest names I have are Cyanogen and manup456. I did ask haykuro but he hasn't got back to me, and I'm still asking other devs.
Your constructive critisism is greatly appreciated, and ideas taken on board
Ladies and Gents, the second interview is underway, and you're all going to be surprised at who I'm speaking to. Keep watching this space for more news. Hopefully I'll get everything asked and answered before Monday, but due to a time difference of several hours there may be a delay, just depends if my dev and I can get online at the same time.
But anyway, provided everything goes well, it should be finished by Monday for your reading pleasure.
If you have any questions you wish to ask a dev not already interviewed, let me know and I'll add it to my list
Hello everyone! I wasn't sure where to put this... I wanted to put it under the android development section, but didn't want to clutter anything. So, I am pretty much a noob when it comes to all of these modifications to phones. I have pretty much been reading these forums non-stop for the past few days, and the amount of information on here is incredible. Last night I flashed the Axura 2.2.6 ROM to my phone with no problems! I was amazed at how easy it was! All of the applications people developed are so useful like ROM manager and Titanium backup. You could never get these kinds of tools and info from the manufacturer. I am truly in awe of the smarts and talent the people on this website have. So thank you so much, for taking the time to create and put tutorials together, so people like me, who don't understand all of the programming language and resources needed to make something like a custom ROM come together, be able to reap all of the benefits my phone has to offer.
-Tara
P.S. I wanted to click the "Thanks" button on a lot of the threads, but it wasn't there?!
Glad to have you around and glad that the Forums helped you out. This is a tight group (most of the time) even if a lot of issues around Samsung currently going on.
Thanks for the welcome! I look forward to what comes out in the future for these phones... as far as controversey around Samsung... I was part of the group that was dealing with Motorola and the Motorola Cliq. I was able to get out of that mess and switched to the Vibrant, and I feel like I'm encountering it all over again. I know the manufacturers have no obligation to give us updates, but then don't promise it! And if it comes, it's kind of like a really nice surprise! When companies make promises like an upgrade by a certain date, and don't follow through, of course people are going to be pissed! But, with the help of developers, we can enjoy all the benefits the phones have to offer. And probably, the modifications made by developers are better than the manufacturers would do anyway!
Welcome
Tara, glad to have you here, as you already know these forums are a wealth of information regarding your phone. I also got to the vibrant from a bad experience with a phone. (the Samsung Behold II) Follow along, don't be afraid to ask questions when you have them, as someone will most always be there to help. You may even find like I did that you don't need to worry so much about the updates promised by TMO and Samsung. Most of the 2.2 ROMS we have available to us now are already beyond what the updates would give us anyway. So I would encourage you to read, read, read through the threads and to support the developers wether it be Team Whiskey, Master, Eugene, or whoever.
But most of all, welcome
Welcome, because of the people here you will so much more enjoyment from the phone. You are right the stock item is really substandard compared to the custom awesome work of the people in the android family and specifically this forum.
Keep reading, especially the stickys/bible and other notable instructions.
Enjoy and welcome
I have been lurking around<(creepy?lol) and reading the crap out of stickies here for about a month now, and I too would like to extend a token of grattitude to all of the extremely intelligent and helpful members here. Thanks for taking the time to explain procedures clearly and concisely. The custom roms and information you have provide truly make this device awesome.
-Brad
P.S. Sorry for jacking your thread Tara, but I didnt want to add another thanks to the general.
Thanks for all the friendly messages everyone! And that's ok Brad! All day I have been watching folders open on my phone, and just the way the flip out, out of nowhere, is so cool!!! I am just amazed at the work the developers have put into making these phones run so well. And, on top of that, sharing the wealth with all of us, and including step by step written tutorials and videos. They have my complete gratitude and I truly look forward to see what they think of next!

If you're still looking for someone, I might be interested. This reply is my first post on XDA in the longest time, but I used to be very involved in the ROM, kernel, and theme scene. I've also recently begun building apps. I know my way around the source code, and the Java and xml inside the apk's, so I know I could be of some help with the theming at the very least.
This kind of project may just be enough to pull me out of "retirement", so please, feel free to contact me if you'd like. You can PM me here, and we can set up a Hangouts chat or something.
