Situation: 1) Micro USB car charger 2) 3.5 mm audio cable to car stereo (non-Bluetooth stereo)
Goal: Plug only a USB cable and receive charging AND audio from that single plug.
Is it even possible to get audio out via USB on the Treo Pro (similar to the HTC Snap)? I hate plugging in two wires each time I get into my car and pulling two out when I'm done. Idea:
Touch Pro >> Micro USB >> Micro USB Splitter >> 1) Cigarette lighter charger 2) USB to 3.5 mm Jack >> Stereo
Possible?
Well, The usb is Digital, and the audio-out is analog. You'd need an adapter to load files from your device and convert it to something readable to your stereo...
so you're saying that there is no way to get a usb to audio adapter (similar to the HTC Snap witch doesn't have a headphone jack)? does a device w/o a jack have a usb audio card?

Hi,
I just got an usb to mini jack cable but when i play audio it plays via the speaker and not the headphones.
is the cable not supported or do i need to change a setting somewhere
If i use the headphones that were with the phone they work.
But not my new usb to mini jack with my own headphones.
I also have a bleutooth unit but this uses mini-mini jack, and i twas supplied with a headphone inc Mic, the normal adapters for mini-mini jack to mini jack will enable the Mic all the time and can't play stereo, is there a solution for this?
I was already thinking about using tape or something
(the plug for headphones + mic is divided in 3 parts and a normal plug is divided in 2 parts)
thanks for any advise

Not exactly sure what you're asking, but I do know that regular mini USB cables work on the HD even though the HD doesn't exactly have a mini USB port (it has an extUSB port).
extUSB == miniUSB + audio
one can get converters from extUSB to 3.5mm
and I suppose one could make 3.5mm to extUSB too never seen any though
but one can't make extUSB -> miniUSB when it comes to audio as miniUSB is a serial digital interface which don't carry any type of audio
one can use a miniUSB cable to charge and datatransfer in a extUSB as the usb pins are the same
My car has the mini usb port and I bought the mini usb to USB adapter, took my micro usb cable and plugged it in. The stereo picked up as USB player but when I play music it wont work, it just plays through the speaker..
How can I get this to work and play through the car stereo?
Make sure USB debugging is off and storage mode is on when connected to usb

Does anyone know of a cable to do both charge and output audio to 3.5mm (AUX) using just a single USB connection? Trying to regain the ease of use of the dock connector on my old iPhone.
I found a Motorola cable that appears to be the right thing, but likely wouldn't be compatible with the Nexus 4:

Hi all,
I'm looking for a way to use my earphones with 3.5mm audio jack via the micro USB port. Ideally, without carrying around a bulky separate amp. I bought a small micro USB to 3.5mm jack cable but it doesn't do anything straight out the box.
I don't know if i just need some sort of software to get the cable I've already bought working, or if I need some other sort of hardware.
Reason for all of this - I managed to break my 3.5mm audio output (plugged it in to a cheap ebay car audio unit and have blown something). I have wireless earphones....but just don't like them as much as my original wired ones!!!!
Hopefully someone can help me out!!
Cheers
You will NEED external DAC and AMP.
Micro usb can only output digital signal.

You need a USB DAC. There a quite a few like FiiO Q1, AudioQuest Drangonfly, Oppo HA2-SE, Chord Mojo etc. Money is the limit
By itself micro USB does not transmit sound, it transmits a digital signal, you will need an additional USB DAC
Get a quality Bluetooth receiver. Here's a great one with apt-x low latency which is crucial for video.
