Backlight and External Power Problem - Touch HD General

Hi there,
I've done a search through the Blackstone threads and haven't stumbled across the same problem, so I started a new thread.
I'm using EnergyROM 3.0 Build 24/6/09 for my Touch HD. Whenever I connect my phone to an AC charger, I allow the screen to turn off automatically or I turn it off manually by pressing the power button. However, whenever the time on the clock changes by an increment of a minute, the screen lights up to show this happening and then turns itself off after about 3 seconds. This happens every minute regardless of the type of clock on the screen (HTC Touch Flo clock or Windows 6.5 Slide Lock Clock).
Is this supposed to be happening, or is there a way I can stop it from happening?
Cheers.

Maybe a useful and fast answer would come if you posted in the relevant ROM thread. Just a thought ...

I'm not sure if it's a ROM thing or an actual WinMo 6.5 for Blackstone thing.
Oh well, I guess I can live with it.

Annoying Screen Blink

Hello! I need help with my Touch HD.
Each time when i press on the power button its like the screen turns on then after a ½ second it turns off and after a ½ second its on again.
I have been trying alot of roms, dutty's for example. But now i am using the swedish rom that i found on the xda forums.
I don't remember to have this problem on my first original rom.
I have no idea on how to fix this and i have searched on google and xda forum and found 0 results.
It is very annoying, mostly when using PocketMusic and i have to first press the power button and then i have like only a second to touch the screen fast before it shuts off.
Thanks

X1 - Touch and Go

Hi everyone, I recently switched from HTC Touch to X1 and something has changed that I do not really like or at least I'm not used to this now and would like to have it in the same old way. I have WinMob 6.5 but this should not have anything to do with this effect.
Normally I use the stylus to press the touchscreen and immediately the device reacts, but now with X1 the device does nothing after first stylus press, and after a second pressing the device reacts as it should.this sometimes is annoying.
Maybe I also should say that this of course only happens when when backlight dims down. by first pressing backlight recovers and a second pressing make the device react. how to change this to direclty reacting after pressing in backlight-dim mode?
Thanks for feedback

This is something I LOVE about it! It really stops any unintentional presses!

Its not a bug, its a feature. And i like it....
Turn backlight dimming off, so that your x1 turns off after some time without to dim. Then you won't have the problem.
Dear Jordan, did your device react instantly even when the backlight was dimmed? I'd like this feature. Please tell me.

Disabling the lockscreen after waking the phone up

Hi guys!
So I'll have to wait for my preordered HD2 untill 20th November here in Poland, but watching all the preview videos, a question arose in my head. I know the device isn't out yet, but its rom builds are already flying around, so maybe someone knows the answer. Will it be possible to disable showing of the lock screen after waking up the phone with the end call/power button and the device taking you immediately to the homescreen? I'm used to that on my TD2, and I think that using the phone this way is just much faster.
If i have undersood ur question correctly by completely disabling lock screen of ur future Leo, then yeah, thats possible. If u navigate through ur moving cursor to Settings, then Sound and Display and finally to Backlight options, there two options exist, when phone its on battery and/or External power, to either set the time limit to have the screen locked (and dim backlight of course) or to completely diselect it, which actually disables Leo to show and/or show lock screen.
Hope that clarification helped you
It sure did, thanks a lot I just hope that the buttons on the face of the HD2 will turn out to be as "shallow", flat and "stiff" as they look like in the vids, so that no accidental pressing of the end key while the device is in the pocket will be possible in practice

I did not think about the accidental pressing of END key before, but this will surely worry me, atleast I get the handset myself and test it in real-life...
Well even if any accidental cliks will be happening, then the lock screen will actually come in handy
well even if the buttons get pressed somehow, the screen won't react to pressure so only buttons will work if there's no lockscreen
You're right, good point hehe I guess all of us WM fans will have to get used to capacitive screens and their advantages/disadvantages
I think there will be 2 potential risks...
1. "Send" button is pressed accidentally more than once (last dialed number will be dialed)
2. Any keys get accidentally pressed continuously (device will remain on impacting battery life)
So yet a good screen locking solution will be recommended
3. "end call/power" button pressed and hold -> device turns off (at least I think so..or is there a "confirmation screen"??) -> you don't get any incoming calls/messages/etc at all =)
Btw, if you turn off the stuff as B3ler3fonte said, would there be any locking at all? So would touchscreen etc be allways "ready" and consuming battery?
In my Diamond2 (I dont use any lock screen or anything) when the screen is turned off and I press long the power button, the confirmation for powering off the device does in fact pop up, but the screen remains turned off, so its impossible to confirm the power off prompt (I see the prompt popped up when I press the pwr button once again to turn on the screen). So probably no threat from here. And even if the screen activates and the prompt for turning off the phone does come out, there's no way of confirming it in your pocket - thats the capacitive screen advantage. But the battery draining issues may occur at some scale... I guess we'll see how it all turns out in real life. The probably unavoidable problem will be if the end button would be possible to get pressed by accident - then we would be facing constant battery drainage with the lockscreen always appearing for no reason.

That could help but won't much, because(at least current models) they wake up upon any reminder, battery low, call, text, etc. Besides you will have to use both hands to turn phone on (the top button, unless you got ET fingers ) HD is tall...
Cannot see that menu item

Sorry but there is no setting for lockscreen in this menu. There is only settings for the backlight in battery or charged mode.
There is no control for the lockscreen at all Still looking for a way to completely disable this damned lockscreen.
Agreed - even the entry in the Settings tab that claims to control the lockscreen seems to have no impact (I have mine set to 12 hours and it completely ignores that) and the standard registry hacks don't seem to have any effect.
This is a real puzzler!

back to the original topic:
changing the registry key: HKey_current_user/ControlPanel/Backlight/AutodevicelockEnable to value '0' (zero) works with other 6.5 roms
by default it must have seen to '1'
edit: my bad, its been solved already

Lock screen during call?!

Hello!
I've had my phone broken so I took it in service. The problem is that they did something to my light sensor and now, during call, the screen won't turn off. That is a big problem because I keep pushing buttons and I wnd up calling people.
So, What options do I have to lock the screen during a call? (I should be able to unlock it when I need it).
I saw something in WM 6.5 (oh, I forgot to mention: I still have WM 6.1 - the original). During a call, you have to slide to be able to push the buttons. There is an application for WM 6.1 that does this?
So, anyone could help?
Thank you!
Search for Touch Lock Pro. You can do a number of things every time the call connects, from lock to shut off screen to start an app.

hd2 freezes randomly with cht

I got my HD2 in hong kong:
manila:1.0.19211620.0
rom:1.72.831.1 (82124) WWE
OS: 5.2.21869 (2.1869.5.0.082)
so after installing the cab i noticed that everytime i tried to put the music player on the first homepage above the main page, i would encounter a manila problem and then the top left of my screeen would be replaced by a white box. thereafter, the music player and white box would be stuck on the screen even if i change homepage tabs.
but my main problem is that the phone will always freeze very frequently. It happens a lot after i lock my screen. I will press a hardware button and the buttons will light up but the screen will take a while to turn on (if it even ends up turning on). And even if it does, all i see sometimes is the notification bar at the top of the screen where the battery, reception and wifi info is. Sometimes i can click the start menu key or the screen key and access the start menu but not always.
another problem is that somtimes when pressing a key after hte phone has been locked and screen turned off, it will reappear at the last screen i was after before locking the phone. it may then suddenly go to the lock screen, or just freeze there.
another problem i have is that after soft resetting, it takes a REALLY long time to "load htc sense". sometimes the text telling me its loading will disappear for seconds and reappear. i have had a point where sense just refused to load so i had to reinstall the cab. luckily for me at the time i was still able to access the start menu.
also, sometimes when i'm just using my phone in general, the screen will freeze and then the phone will go back to the "loading htc sense" page. For the most part, htc sense does load in this situation
now the phone runs very slowly and glitches between previously viewed pages. the camcorder barely runs..
it seems that many things trigger the phone to freeze but its always the same things that do.
i would appreciate any help from the developers or anything with experiences that are like mine.
i know my manila version is off but i asked someone in a different thread and he said that my manila version should be compatable.. if it is not, i guess i have no choice but to uninstall it.. shame
if so, could someone tell me how to uninstall? thanks
