Mysterious digit in status bar - Touch Cruise 2 General

While operating my device, I can see an icon which looks like a big digit "1" to the left of the "E" (EDGE) or the "Connection active" icon on top of the screen in the icon area of the status bar.
When I disable the phone (meaning when I switch it to the Flight Mode or just disconnect the cellular connection), then the digit "1" disappears.
I could not find anything about the mysterious "1" icon in the manual. Could anyone please tell if you have it too and what it stands for?
Attached is a screenshot to better see what I am talking about. (In this case you can see the "1" to the left of the "Connection active" icon).
What does that "1" represent and how to get rid of it?
Regards,
Madana

You have a multi line SIM card, go to Settings > Phone > CLS or CSL, I don't remember well.
Try to change the SIM card with another one. I had the same behaveour with my previous operator.

Thanks, Fabiomtl.
I could not find any of the settings in my Phone menu. Anyhow, what is this feature good for and how to turn it off, if you know?
CHanging SIM does remove the "1" digit.

Madana: That number shows, which GSM line is used. By default, it is number 1, because you don't have two simcards or two line simcard inserted or it is not supported by your mobile operator. So there is nothing to be worried about .

Found a quick and easy solution for the annoying digit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Drivers>BuiltIn>RIL>ALSService
change value "1" to "0".
Save.
The "1" is gone.

How can I remove the GSM status icon (blueangel)?

I think it's annoying that the GSM status icon (which also shows active sync) is in the notifications tray, even when I don't have a SIM card. When no SIM card is inserted, Active Sync info is not showed either..
I desperately want to:
1. be able to remove the icon completely, at will.
2. talk to whatever process is in charge of the icon and eg. tell it to do stuff. I explain below.
Now, what I've tested is to replace cprog.exe, and this leads to the notification to not show any activity, even though I properly unlock the SIM and initialize TAPI and whatever. My theory is that the notification reads the GSM signal independent of the original cprog, and that cprog only tells the notification to start. But how!?
I have also fiddled with lots and lots of registry keys, looked in the db, investigated IShellExtInit, tried ConnMgr magic, etc...
So, if anyone has even a slight hint of a clue what to do, please tell me!

Ported number, old number still visible

I've ported my number to my new network. All ok there, works perfectly, etc
When I go to Settings - Menu - All Settings - Personal - Phone at the top it still displays my temporary number.
Does anyone know where I can access this to change is to my ported number, please?
Many thanks
Start > Calls > SIM Manager
Then go to Menu > Tools > List of Own Numbers...
Now select the number you want to change (LINE 1) and press edit
Thank you for that hollinshead
It worked within the SIM Manager though when I returned to the path I put in my first post, it didn't reflect the change, so I did the phone off/phone on and... yay! Result!
Many thanks for your help
I think the problem is it stores the Sim info when it loads the phone (or atleast this is the way it worked with 2003).
If you disable the phone then re-enable it, it should have the same effect.

+ plus before numbers

when i make a call from my contacts the telephone ads a + plus sign. how i can disable it?
if i dial a number and send. the + is not added.
i have tried disabling assited dial. but i still get the +
i use the imagio only on GSM
What's the plus?
The plus "+" is used to distinguish the country code of the phone number. Most in the US don't normally think about it. This is especially true since the country code for the US is "1" and the "1" is what you used to add from your land line to make a long distance call.
Don't sweat the addition and in fact get used to it. On your mobile phone you should always include the full phone number (including area code) for all your contacts and calls. You don't have the same concept of "long distance" calls on your mobile phone. Where you are is your calling location and this obviously varies.
For your contacts, get used to seeing the addition of the +1 for US phones. When making calls you can include it or not if you are in the US and calling someone in the US. In the US you should always use 10 digit numbers when you dial.
So in the US you don't need to use "1" to prefix a number to call "long distance" but you do need to use "+1" to call a US number if you are in a different country when you make the call.
(Someone is bound to point out that Canada also uses +1. I didn't include that above but you could substitute "USA and Canada" where I used "US")
How to disable this function, can anybody say? It do not let to make call in my country to contacts, just call if typing number manualy 8700... etc.
use a registry editor and set HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\PlusCodeDialing\PlusCodeEnable to 0.
2bawaji Thanks for help.
Another problem appear: when I change registry key vaue and restart phone it restart himself after verizon logo. I fix it by hard reset, but what i do wrong?
Mat be needs some other changes in registry?
Was it set to 1 before you changed it to 0? I notice that in the post above, the key is listed as "Plu sCodeEnable" and not "PlusCodeEnable" that I originally typed. There should be no space between the u and the s.
I regularly change the above key from 1 to 0 and back when I travel. I have not had the restart happen. I am using Energy ROM which does not have Assisted Dialing. You may want to try this with Assisted Dialing turned off and see if that makes a difference. Can't think of anything else.

[TIP][XT1033] Clear All SIM Preferences At Once For DUAL SIM Moto G

Hope you all would have used "Automatic SIM Selection" or "Remember SIM for a number" features in dual SIM Moto G (XT1033).
When "Automatic SIM Selection" is enabled, the phone will learn from pattern of use and automatically selects that as a preferred SIM when calling that contact.
"Remember SIM for a number" is available when you set “Ask every time I make a call” option in “Dual SIM settings->Call settings->Making calls”.
Once these are set, the dialer no longer asks for SIM for some contacts that have their preferences set. But you can always force a SIM for all calls by selecting a SIM as default in call settings.
The SIM preferences for a contact can be changed either by:
Tapping “Change SIM” during call. While this is the only option for unsaved numbers.
By opening contacts application and manually changing for each of the contacts by long holding the contact number
Though these are useful features, it can sometimes be frustrating if you dial a contact/number with wrong SIM (when rate cutter gets over in the SIM you have selected as default ).
You have to keep changing SIM for each and every contact/number for which you have given “remember SIM” or a SIM set automatically by the phone.
I was very much annoyed when I accidentally gave “Remember SIM” for an USSD code (the pop up dialogue to select SIM no longer appears). The code wasn’t saved on the phone or I didn’t get any calling screen (to tap change SIM) to change the SIM while dialing. The only option I had was to change the SIM in SIM settings whenever I wanted to dial that USSD code.
I tried clearing data of dialer/phone apps in settings, but of no use.. then I saw an built-in app called “Automatic SIM selection” (in Android 4.4.4, in older android versions - 'Smart Sim') under “ALL” category in settings->apps. Clearing data of this app deletes all the SIM preferences in one shot for all the contacts (even for unsaved numbers/USSD codes).
I googled a lot to find where these preferences are stored and how to clear them, but I wasn’t able to find. So I wanted to share this with you all.
Please click thanks if you find it helpful or share your ideas how you manage your dual SIM settings. Always happy to learn and help!
Mods, please delete/move this thread if this information is redundant/irrelevant.
Very well documented thank you for the clear cut points and procedure

Sent from my Moto G using XDA Free mobile app
I found a way to remove remember sim on USSD code on my Moto G
Just add a new contact with number is the USSD code you are using (include special characters e.g. *, #). Then go to the new added contact, tap and hold the number then choose 'Clear default calling SIM'.

I believe this information is relatable to the successors of the Moto G too since the feature has been integral to the entire device line. I have a Moto G Turbo Edition from last year currently running Android 6.0.1 stock OS. The issue is that even after clearing the data of the Automatic Sim Selection app, it doesn't make a difference. Neither does it remember "smartly" which SIM to use nor does it allow me to force a particular SIM as the preferred SIM for calling. Which means no matter what I do, I always get a prompt to choose between the two SIMS and that's very annoying. What do I do?
is this applicable only to the stock ROM. cant find either 'Automatic SIM selection' or 'Smart Sim' in CM
Automatic SIM selection is not part of most custom ROMs i've tried. but wierdly enough, i can't select SIM for all landline calls i make. i just thought this might fix that.
ok, this may be irrelevant but I need "always ask" feature both for call and sending sms. but for sending sms this feature does not working on every custom MM 6.0 rom. only ID6 and CM13 has this function working. anyone here, knows any cause behind that?
Is it possibile to extract the apk from the stock rom and try to install into a custom rom ?

it is possible, provided that the system app/apk you are referring to does not depend on external components/libraries which are part of the stock ROM and not part of any custom ROMs.

How to disable voicemail on S7 edege?

Thank you,
Open the phone app and on the top right corner tap on "more" and then "settings". Somewhere at the bottom there should be an entry called mailbox options. If you can't switch it off there, either remove the default mailbox number completely or let your provider's service Hotline turn it off.
Unfortunately, it still doesn't work.
Try to Google how to turn it off specifically for your provider. At my provider for example (Vodafone) there's an USSD code for that
