omapclock help - Wing, P4350 General

I had just overclocked my Wing to 264MHz and now my screen is going crazy and its set to overclock to that on startup also so not even rebooting or soft-resetting is working. Is there a remote registry utility I can use to set the clock back or unregister omapclock?

Nevermind I got it, just had to remove the omapclock entry in the Windows/Startup folder. Thanks!

OMAP Overclocking

Has anyone found a better way to overclock the processor? One that stays on at all times?
Thanks -Mike
Hi Mike,
If you mean you want OMAP Clock to run automatically when your device wakes up from sleep mode, then you can make use of Notification Queue.
I use Memmaid and add OMAP Clock into Notification Queue (set it to run when the device wakes up). Now, I can have my Prophet running at my desired speed at all times I use it. For me, it is perfectly OK, if it goes back to its orginal speed when it goes to sleep as I can save some battery.
Anox.
I have bad experience with OverClock my 818pro(ENG OS)
and would like to share with all user.
1. Don't set 276 HZ otherwise it will hang the phone function.
2. Don't set 300 HZ otherwise the PDA will hang.
It will cause the following problem:
1. Indox box cannot work.
2. When incoming phone call, it will automatically shut down the phone. However, outgoing call is fine.
3. Active sync cannot work.
I throught that hard reset can solve the problem but wouldn't work. It cause me to refesh the ROM from repair centre.
When I set the clock to 276 sometimes the device restarts so now I'm not using it anymore.
For me the original speed is acceptable.
I did crack it at speed 216 MHZ, works fine
I set it at 252 and I see a huge improvement. Avantgo opens faster than on my 624mhz Axim.

Further you can put this overclocked omapclock lnk to the startup directory to have it on oc at the get go...
i've kinda played with the startup order so that it boots up as one of the first programs.
Now i boot up in 1min 45 sec and that's with phonealarm, pocketbreeze, messaging (make it startup so that i don't have to wait 7-10sec everytime i wanna send out a Text or email) all starting up after a soft-reset.

hi can you pls post how to set this to run by every start up !!!
As far as MAX speed... that's individual. My 8125's (Wizard) ... one maxed out at 250 the other at 300 before crashing. It's trial and error. Go to the Wizard forum for details on how to test, and set it up on startup as well as wakeup. the thread says overclocking in the title.
cheers.
Well, the standard safe speed is 240, at least that's what they say most frequently. I also heard Jamin's working fine at 260. Anyway I don't belive there's a big difference between 240 and 276, considering 240 is already 33% faster than the normal clock.
Procedure of Overclocking at every startup
1.) Copy the program to anywhere you like
(e.g. Program Files\OmapClock.exe) In Pocket PC
2.) Copy the file and paste shortcut to anywhere you like
(e.g. Windows\start menu\OmapClock) In Pocket PC (Must use shortcut)
3.) Connect your computer with activesync, copy the shorcut file that store in Pocket PC to your computer.
4.) Use the Window XP software, "Notepad" to open the shortcut file >
Change the content to "\Program Files\OmapClock\OmapClock.exe" -clock 216 (Attention :-clock 216 means the speed of overclock is 216. Suggust you use 264 or below.)
5.) After make change the shortcut file, copy this file from computer to replace that shortcut file in the PDA.
6.) Open MemMaid program, select "Notification Queue"
(Second Icon that from left to right)
7.) click "Add" and select Program choose the shortcut file > select Event and choose "The device woke up" and click "Add"
8.) Select "Start Up Program" (Forth Icon that from left to right)
9.) click "Add", find the shortcut file.
10.) Close MemMaid 1.5 program and soft reset.
sas90850 many thanks for the advice.
However I can not keep omapclock running every time the device wakes up. when the device soft resets the clock speed will correctly be set to 252 however the notification que when the device wakes up does not work. can you advice more on the matter? I folloed your exact!! instructions .
thanks again for making things more clear.

This has already been covered in another thread. Do a search on omapclock. It explains how to make the overclock program load everytime the device comes out of standby or when you load specific programs.
Does anybody has problems to the camera overclocking cpu over 204?
Nope am ocing all the time, and no problems with any app, including the camera @252

Thx it's works fine for me ... very good help
Overclock to 252Hz will have auto soft reset problem. Overclock to 240Hz work fine. Just let everyone know this.
heya sas, don't know if this is conclusive, but didn't suffer from auto-soft resets at @252. This observation was before flashing to the S200 qtek 2nd rom.

iphone slide2unlock ques.

hey, i just installed the iphone slide2unlock on to my htc mogul 6800. it works and everything when i open the file and click on the slide tab, but what i want to do is set it as a screen saver so that it come up everytime i power the screen off. because now what it does is it runs but when i slide unlock it it just goes back to the file i opened it from. Also, the date is correct but it always displays the wrong time, can anyone help me or give some insight on how to get it to do these things????
take a look at the readme file that's included in the slide2unlock installation directory. There are a bunch of registry entries that control the configuration of the program.
Also, make sure that 'ilock' is in your startup folder (it's installed there by default). This program must be running for the slide2unlock software to do things 'automatically'.

8525 - WM6 Slow boot time, slow draw, system bogged down

I posted this over at the cingular website, but I thought I might get a better response here.
I have an 8525 with WM6 installed. Sometimes when I perform either a soft or hard boot, the boot time is extremely slow. For example, I read here that a soft boot once a day is a good idea to free up memory. So I performed one. It takes my phone about 1 minute to go from the Windows screen to the screen where I enter my PIN. It then slowly "draws" the screen with the keypad to enter my PIN and eventually the word "unlock" appears in the lower left corner. It seems like it takes forever to not only load, but then draw the screen. Any touch input is then delayed. In WM6 does eventually load, its completely delayed and bogged down. This happens until about the 3rd soft reset when it is fine and the system is stable.
I have the following running on my system:
Sleuth255's PTTfix
enunutz HTC Home Customizer
Skunworks FlashVideoBundle
TCPMP The Core Pocket Media
C. Ghisler & Co. gtotal Commander
Vicsoft Clear Temp
Also, I have made the following registry tweaks:
1. disabled start-up animation and sound;
2. removed battery and communication from lower task bar;
3. moved battery to top of screen;
4. changed scheduling of activesync.
I have 25MB of storage space and 24MB of program space. I also have a 2GB micro-ram. Any ideas or other occurrences like the foregoing?
It may be helpful to see what's in your windows/Startup directory. There might be some sort of collision between two processes or something.
Windows start-up directory contents
Includes:
ClearTemp Startup (12/18/07)
Launcher (9/1/07)
poutlook (9/1/07)
PTTStart (9/20/07)
sddaemon (9/1/07)
TrayIcon_Manager (10/11/07)
Any help?\
Also, it does appear that after 3 soft boots, the system loads normally - in other words, three's a charm apparently for some reason or another.
My apologies if you have already tried to following, just need to know:
Did you try starting your 8525
- Without the microSD card?
- Removing the sddaemon.lnk from the startup folder (it seems to be optional, but to be safe transfer it to your PC first)
- Disabling cleartemp, either uninstall or removing it from the startup folder.
I suspect that it may be cleartemp, but I've never used it. Perhaps another process is competing with cleartemp by trying to write to the temp directory??
Also, which ROM are you using? The official wm6? Sorry for all of the questions.
I have read on many posts that removing the COMM MANAGER icon (your item # 2) from the lower taskbar causes a slow boot and system lags. It actually happened to me once after installing a program, but I successfully remove it yesterday and so far have not detected any problems. I don't know at this point why it would happen.
I've tried removing the SD Card - no change, removed ClearTemp from the startup - no change. What is sddaemon anyway? And I'm running the WM6 Rom that you could download from http://www.america.htc.com/support/8525/software-downloads.html - I guess that's the official version.
I'll try putting the comm. manager back in. It's hard to know if that was the problem, but I'll give it a shot. When you make a lot of registry edits and install programs in often hard to pinpoint exactly the problem.
dgaud007,
It may be a little early, but so far you're a genius. Looks like it may have been the removal of the Comm Manager from the bottom. I've had three soft boots now without incident. This begs the question, do some of those other today customizers which allow you to remove the Comm Manager slow down the system too, or is it just a product of using the registry tweak? On a side note, can somebody go into their registry at HKLM/ and see if there is a subdirectory called "5"? It's empty on mine and didn't know if I just created it by accident.
Thanks everyone!
Glad to help. I still would like to know why this happens. As I recall I had removed the comm manager icon when I first got this phone and it worked fine until I tried to install a kaiser type comm manager program, which didn't work. After that I experienced all the symptons, i.e. slow boot, slow redraw, etc. I then uninstalled the kaiser comm manager and put back the comm manager icon on the screen and the symptons were gone. A couple of days ago I removed the icon again just to see what happens, and so far is working fine WITHOUT the comm manager icon. I will try to duplicate the problem...
Update 12-26-07
I duplicated the problem installing this file: "JUVS_HTC_CommManager_Kaizer_fix.cab". After installing it with comm manager icon removed, it took > 4 minutes to reboot and all the symptoms re-appeared. I enabled the comm manager icon, did 2 soft resets and the symptoms were gone (i.e. boot time < 2 mins). I removed the application and installed "Kaizer Comm Manager(10 Buttons).cab" and so far is working fine without the icon in the today screen.
Same problems...
I can't really help much, but I've been having the same problem, both with the default ROM I had and with vp3g's ROM: extremely slow boot, with a successful boot on the third try...I'm thinking that the system keeps track of the number of times you try to boot, and streamlines the process the third time around to ensure a success.
Several days ago, I did this whole sequence of soft boots, and my phone actually "reset" itself: it went through the phone's "first-time-use" setup sequence, unpacking and installing default programs. I'm still running vp3g's ROM, but it now appears to be a blend of that ROM's customizations and the original system ROM, thanks to that weird reset. Anyone else know about this?

Can't find out how to disable the cube (elf).Help please

I followed this instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368269);
but it doesn't work.
I've changed the registry key to 0.
When i use resco explorer to overwrite files , a pop up message says:
the file is in the ROm and can't be overwritten
The instruction linked is for the polaris.
How can i find a way to disable the cube on my elf ? I don't use it and i wanna gain some more free memory.
Thank anyone in advance.
Sorry for my english, i'm italian...
Below works on my Touch Enhanced and stops the cube totally:-
STOP CUBE - To stop the Cube completely use a registry editor and go into:-
HKLM/Software/OEM/TFLOSettings
set the value of the "EnableCube" key to 0.
I used "regedit" which is a simple free app to do it and have had no problems.

I've done it.
Switching the registry key to 0 really stops the cube.
But during the boot windows still loads all the services needed to the cube to work, and these services drain free memory.
I would like to disable the loading of these services during the boot, this way i would gain free memory space.
How could i disable it ?
Thanks

[Q] How to hide the GSM line icon

Is it possible to hide the gsm line icon "1" from the titlebar in WM 6.5 ?
Good question! I hate the "1" in my task bar!
Seems it can't be done...
in registry edit this key, works instantly.
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"ALSService"=dword:00000000
one flaw: gets re-enabled with every phone restart...

a mortscript can solve that
paste a .lnk to this script into /windows/startup
regwritedword("HKLM", "\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\ALSService", "0")
BTW, what other icons can you dissable like this on the topbar?
Rn
hehe, been at this point 2 years ago... ^^
mortscript won't work this way. the reg-key get's reset with first pin-unlock after reboot, not during boot-process itself (startup-dir). so, unless you can trigger the script with pin-unlock, it would get set to 0 during boot, after pin it get's set to 1 again.
i tried with a startup-link to a reg-file back then, works the same way as mortscript (reg-files associated to sktools, resco would work too). settled with opening that link manually once after unlock.
(enabling flight-mode and then re-enabling phone doesn't bring the line-icon back, it's really just the very first pin-unlock after reboot)
dunno about disabling any other icons in taskbar, but them i want anyway.
In my ROM I remove the icon and edit the registry.

i thought that mortscript had a problems with windows/starup/ - in that case it also has a problem with /windows/start menu/ too.. (i never actually wanted to say anything incase i was wrong, but i noticed this a few weeks ago when using a script to delete .lnks.. )
