I followed this instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368269);
but it doesn't work.
I've changed the registry key to 0.
When i use resco explorer to overwrite files , a pop up message says:
the file is in the ROm and can't be overwritten
The instruction linked is for the polaris.
How can i find a way to disable the cube on my elf ? I don't use it and i wanna gain some more free memory.
Thank anyone in advance.
Sorry for my english, i'm italian...
Below works on my Touch Enhanced and stops the cube totally:-
STOP CUBE - To stop the Cube completely use a registry editor and go into:-
HKLM/Software/OEM/TFLOSettings
set the value of the "EnableCube" key to 0.
I used "regedit" which is a simple free app to do it and have had no problems.

I've done it.
Switching the registry key to 0 really stops the cube.
But during the boot windows still loads all the services needed to the cube to work, and these services drain free memory.
I would like to disable the loading of these services during the boot, this way i would gain free memory space.
How could i disable it ?
Thanks

· Speed Up Your Windows Mobile Pocket PC.
WOW my Pocket PC is fast! I just bumped into an old registry tweak that I have yet to use on Windows Mobile 2003. A foreign site todopocketpc had mentioned this and I was surprised I had not used it on my new install. once I applied this reg tweak I immediately saw a difference in how fast my Windows Mobile Pocket PC responded. Today plugins load faster my Games folder loads faster. Its just an overall better experience. I would highly suggest backing up your Pocket PC before you try this as playing with your registry can cause problems if you do not know what you are doing. Protect your Pocket PC BACKUP!
If you need a registry editor, you can find a free one at http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/regeditce.shtml
1. Open your registry editor on your Pocket PC
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\
3. Change the value of 'limit' from 8192 to 32768
4. Close registry editor and soft reset.
That's it! Let me know what your results are

Ive tried this and have seen no noticable diff.

It's not set for 2.06.00WWE ROM. Perhaps that's one of the few differences we are seeing for 2.02 and 2.06...and for that matter, 2.20.
what does it do anyway? i mean.. you say it speeds up the pocketpc response... how?
Dear,
[/quote]3. Change the value of 'limit' from 8192 to 32768
Not knowing what it actually does, I have given it a try. However, my WM2003SE (V2.06) has already had such value set at 131072. Any ideas about the differences.

Does anyone know the registry setting for the alarm tweak for WM2003?
yeah! like a correctly looping tone! with no pauses
here's a few
*** Speed Up Your Windows Mobile Pocket PC.
1. Open your registry editor o_n your Pocket PC
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\
3. Change the value of 'limit' from 8192 to 32768
4. Close registry editor and soft reset.
*** fix suspend timeout
The issue therefore is how long the unit is in the suspend power state before reverting to off. The time interval involved is stored in the registry at the following location HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\Timeouts\BattResumingSuspendTimeout and is initially set to 15 (seconds). The amount of time required seems to depend on the number of alarm entries in the Calendar - I have about 300 entries and find that 175 seconds works for me. The reason for just under three minutes is because my full power off timeout is set to 180 seconds (three minutes) and it seems more correct for the suspend time out to be shorter.
*** low battery alerts
Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877D663-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}\
Create a String value named "Default" and set its value to "Low battery warning".
Now go to Start > Settings > Personal tab > Sounds & Notifications applet > Notifications tab, select "Low battery warning" in the "Select an event" drop-down list and you can customize it.
*** disable start menu animation
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\
Change the "AniType" value from 6 to 0.
*** add date to start bar
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\
Create a binary value named "TBOpt" and set its value to "13 00 00 00".
Save any unsaved document and reset your Pocket PC.

AutoStart a Program
Do anybody know how to make a program run automatically when i soft reset my PPC
Autorun
Hi gwassef,
just create a shortcut for the program you want to start automatically and copy that shortcut into the /Windows/Autostart folder. Then the program starts on soft reset.
Greetings,
BGK

Hi,
Couple questions here.
First, is there any way to disable the sip without having to soft reset between active/inactive? I could of made a script but the only way I found so far to deactivate it is by turning HKCU > controlpanel > allowchange to 0. It works alright but requires a soft reset.
Second, how do you uninstall the pre-installed sips? I find the touch diamond's sufficient and would like to completely remove the others.
Thanks
From the nullkeyboard webpage:
This driver installs as a SIP more (selectable virtual keyboard) and is useful for two reasons:
1- To avoid keyboard popup when we don't want input data (Web explorer, file displat, etc.).
2- To avoid keyboard popup when we are using an external keyboard that don't use its own SIP like iPAQ micro keyboard and some else.
It's simply a Keyboard that don't appear even when it's ordered to do it, by the application or the user. It take zero pixels on the screen and don't disturb.
There are two version: one for QVGA and one for VGA machines.
To install copy the file to a temporal folder on the PDA and execute it.

How to disable the cube for to install update 20 of manila 2d?
thank you see you
bye bye.
Easy...install Throttle Launcher.
I wanted to try M2D but didn't know how to disable the cube &
TL has only 2 CAB's & runs nice on the Dual.
Steve.
what do you mean by "disable" here?
to disable the up-down gesture to invoke the cube, you can change this registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings]
"EnableCube"=dword:00000000
after all, as the programs associated with the cube (i.e. APLauncher.exe, MediaHubMini.exe and QuickDial.exe) are loaded on system startup, disabling the gesture using the change above cannot remove these programs from memory. hence, i wrote a mortscript to kill these 3 .exe upon windows startup.

Hey guys,
I just got my HD and have really no clue how to get the gsen to work so i can write sms and emails in landscape. Also I would like a few other applications to be in landscape too.
Can anyone help me??? It would be greatly appreciated.
Can someone please help me? or give me website that gives instructions? I really need help for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gsen should by default enable landscape for almost any app (with some exceptions like tf3d and so on). after installed you should run gsen manually and then notice if the screen rotation is working. then if you like etc you can run gsen cfg and set it to autostart via left soft key.

Pre-installed?..... GSen doesn't come pre-installed.
Where did you get it from?
He's probably just talking about the original rotator that excludes most everything, aside from the media/internet based programs.
Works??
Hi again.
I installed the prog right now, started and open the settings. Screw the phone -< works fine. close settings, open programs, tur the phone again -> nothing happens. Like in nearly) every other program. Opening the settings again, nothing happens too.
So i turned the GSEN off an on again sometime, settings work but nothing else.
WHAT'S THE PROBLEM???
Thx for reply
Did you read the readme.txt file that came with gsen?
Works fine on my HD
Here is a part of the file:
1. Description
Auto-rotate screen on SOME devices with g-sensor.
Install GSen and run it.
If you run it again, program will ask you "Unload program?".
If you answer yes - program will be unloaded.
This also possible without question with parameter #unload.
You can use configuration shortcut for edit configuration file.
This file can include this command:
#window(text or class name) - add window description
#timeout(value) - default value 1000 ms
#onlyfor(0|1) - if 0 auto rotate work for all programm except defined by #window, otherwise ONLY for this program.
By default program not rotate screen if Manila or Teeter is foreground application, but you can edit this list.
#fdscreenoff(0|1|2) - if 1, program will switch off screen if you put device with screen on bottom, if 2 device will suspend.
#lockscreen(0|1) - if not present = 1, can prevent, if enabled, rotation with locked device
#poweroff180(0|1) - if not present = 0, determine interpretation of rotation to 180, 0 - rotate screen, 1 - power off.
GSen can indicate self state,
you can setup it with this commands:
#show(0|1) - if 1 GSen will show one pixel (by default) indicator on top bar.
#x(X),
#y(Y) coordinates of this indicator, default X=240,Y=1
#clr(R,G,B) - color, default white (255,255,255)
you also can setup width and height (#width(W), #height(H))
Commandline parameters:
#load - load app, if loaded already - exit without questions
#unload - unload app
#toggle - if loaded will unload, otherwise will load, usable with one shortcut
#about - show about window
if you start without parameters - program will ask "Unload?" if already exist one instance, or simple run if not exist.
NOTE: some programs, like Teeter game, cannot start in landscape mode, so switch to standard display orientation before.
Cheers
Yep
... I did.
First time I installed it I changed someting in the configfile as advised. But it doesn't work so in uninstalled and reinstalled it. Then started the prog.
SOMETIMES the picture turnes but not everytime.
I've got a HTC Touch Diamond :-o Shouldn't be the problem i guess...
Okay...
I just changed timeout to 5 and it works just fine on HTC touch HD
Guess it shoudn't be a problem on Diamond.
What is the Contacts program name?
In the GSen Configuration file, I want to be able to tell the program to leave the Contacts screen alone (to not rotate). The only problem I have is that I don't know the actual program name for Contacts, and where is it located?
Thanks,
Peter
Got it ...
I figured it out. When I entered the following command into the GSen configuration file:
#windows(Contacts)
It didn't work because I didn't first save it. Now that I've entered it again, and then saved the file, it works.
Peter
Is there any way to set it to rotate the Today screen? I'm using the default config and all programs rotate apart from Today.

i dont understand any of this talk.. if you go into the gsen edit screen, are those what will not rotate? eg, i would like to see the settings screen rotate, how do i add that? would it be something like #window(settings.exe)
I do not use TF3D and have the WM6.1 standard softkeys of Calendar and Contacts.
I have done a search of the forum and found nothing so hoping somebody can help.
What is the least memory exhaustive program that allows you to change your soft keys? You used to be able to do it as standard on WM5 but it seems they have scrapped that for the newer OS.
Is there even a way of doing it without installing a program?
you cant change the softkeys on titanium
I'm not on titanium, just standard WM6.1
if you're talking about RAM memory, any program would be good since it's a registry tweak.
you could use diamond tweak, or TFDetacher(just running the TFDetacher config is enough, no need to use the actual detacher tool)
Changing softkeys
you need to create the keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112 - for left softkey
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113 - for right.
in each of them to create a 2 key
default [string] - name softkey
open [string] - the file path in quotes
for example: right softkey - AltTab:
default AltTab
open "\program files\AltTab\AltTab.exe"
...and soft reset
Well, I think you better learn how to search properly ;-) Forget about all these comments. Just use Softkey Manager. It solves your question without any manual registry edits. And, as mentioned, it doesn't use RAM as the program doesn't need to run constantly. It just changes what the softkey does, so there is no RAM affection. See thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414405.
