how to disable the cube - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

How to disable the cube for to install update 20 of manila 2d?
thank you see you
bye bye.

Easy...install Throttle Launcher.
I wanted to try M2D but didn't know how to disable the cube &
TL has only 2 CAB's & runs nice on the Dual.
Steve.

what do you mean by "disable" here?
to disable the up-down gesture to invoke the cube, you can change this registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings]
"EnableCube"=dword:00000000
after all, as the programs associated with the cube (i.e. APLauncher.exe, MediaHubMini.exe and QuickDial.exe) are loaded on system startup, disabling the gesture using the change above cannot remove these programs from memory. hence, i wrote a mortscript to kill these 3 .exe upon windows startup.

I haven't tried it myself, i run the older version of M2D (doesn't require that you disable the cube). Runs fine for me.

? Use TouchFlo to Launch another Program ?

Is it possible to do this?
I have Mobile Shell 2.1 installed and have disabled TouchFlo. It would be nice to be able the launch the SPB task manager with the "up" gesture of touchflo.
Or... vise versa. Switch the gestures so that "Up" Launches Mobile shell and the "top to Bottom" launches the task manager.
Anyone?
wince registry
Check out the Biotouch folder in the WinCE registry. There are some keys that define which apps to launch (to work the cube). Try changing one or all of them to the .exe for SPB. I'll try right now, but I don't have SPB, so I'll make mine launch something generic.
it works
Just change
HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\Biotouch\App1 = "QuickDial \Windows\QuickDial.exe"
Click to collapse
to
HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\Biotouch\App1 = "QuickDial \Windows\cprog.exe"
Click to collapse
and the phone launches the dialer when you do the upward swipe.
The animation still plays for the cube, so that'll need some tweaking. We need a dedicated biotouch hackery application.
=)
that didn't seem to work for me. it always seems to launch the tflo quick dial.
i tried both, a shortcut "Task Manager.lnk" and a program file "cprog.exe" as replacements... followed by resets.
no go.

how to disable touchflo cube?

does anyone know how to disable the cube?coz its taking up resources and i wont be using it now since manila2D came out.thanx in advance
You can disable it in registry, but it doesn't save your resources, because other apps (tmail, manilla2d etc) still requires Biotouch.exe
(HKLM/Software/OEM/TFLOSettings/Enablecube:0)

Can't find out how to disable the cube (elf).Help please

I followed this instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368269);
but it doesn't work.
I've changed the registry key to 0.
When i use resco explorer to overwrite files , a pop up message says:
the file is in the ROm and can't be overwritten
The instruction linked is for the polaris.
How can i find a way to disable the cube on my elf ? I don't use it and i wanna gain some more free memory.
Thank anyone in advance.
Sorry for my english, i'm italian...
Below works on my Touch Enhanced and stops the cube totally:-
STOP CUBE - To stop the Cube completely use a registry editor and go into:-
HKLM/Software/OEM/TFLOSettings
set the value of the "EnableCube" key to 0.
I used "regedit" which is a simple free app to do it and have had no problems.

I've done it.
Switching the registry key to 0 really stops the cube.
But during the boot windows still loads all the services needed to the cube to work, and these services drain free memory.
I would like to disable the loading of these services during the boot, this way i would gain free memory space.
How could i disable it ?
Thanks

Force reloading of Manila Program Launcher

Hi there,
is there any way to force Manila to update the links shown in the programs tab / new startmenu?
I'd like to change them by registry, but then I need to restart Manila, what is not very smart.
So, does anybody know of a commandlinearg for manila.exe to do this?
Like manila.exe --updateprogramspage <--this does not work...
Thanks in advance.
BTW: If somebody feels this isn't the right place for such a post, feel free to move it. I already tried Q&A but no response.
first option:
go to the "setting tab" on the home screen click "customise tabs" and rearange any tab order. click done and manila will restart its self.
Second option:
Goto all settings in the personal tab click today icon then in items tab (bottom), uncheck tf3d then click ok. go back into the today settings and check tf3d again, click ok and it will restart its self.
hope this worls out for you. Ive tried this tweek and it works greate. unlimited number of icons in the manila programs launcher only shame is after the first 30, you have to edit the rest using registry entries.
Thank you for the tip,
I'm using TFDetacher, so I'm able to restart Manila very easy.
But thats the problem, I don't want to restart it.
I want to manipulate the Start menu Items in runtime.

Programs Tab from TouchFlo 2.1

Hi there!
Ive seen the new shortcuts on the homescreen on every video again and again. The number of programs you can add there is extensible but limited. So is there an "All Programs" button like on previous TouchFlo versions on the programs tab or at least a possibility to see all programs installed? Maybe im blind or have forgotten about it but i think i havent seen something like this on any video.
Thanks!
Phil
Sadly, it doesn't exist. I have been asking around if anyone can port the old Manila 2.1 start menu and program tab over yet, but no one has responded to say yes it can be done
Damnit...so theres no scrollable list with all programs installed on the device in Sense anymore? Really no way?
Isn't WM 6.5 start menu about the same ?
Yes and I believe that's exactly the reason why the programs tab is gone.
Yeah, could be the reason for it. But a bad exchange if you ask me...but there are other programs out there that could be useful to me like TouchLaunch.

The "All Programs" button in TouchFlo just went to an icon view of the "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" folder - This is exactly what tapping the "Start" button in WM-6.5 now does.
a great alternative for this is a program called launchpad which gives you a program launcher from the taskbas star shortcut but also give you the normal windos shotcut fron the hard key below. try it you wont be dissapointed
from 4pda.ru forum
1. disable manila
2. delete key HKLM>Software>HTC>Manila>Configuration, if exists
3. install the cab
4. delete ManilaFull.xml from /Windows
5. SR
6. enable manila
thanks to jamrecords
sorry for my english
