I am looking for Windows Mobile 6.1 original ROM (with no or minimum tweaks) for Wing. can anybody send me the link. Thank you.
there is no 6.1 "original rom" for the wing.
you have to use a custom rom
I think this might be what you're looking for:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Herald_Upgrades
The "T-MO 4.26.531.4" is the one which ships with current Wings.
Hope that helps
thats not 6.1, though
most customs are better than stock anyway.
tmobile just wants us to buy the MDA Vario IV, because there is NO reason for not giving us the update.
i'd buy it IF THEY OFFERED IT IN THE US!
they will, eventually. if not, they are stupid, i would but it too!
... do you, the devs of xda developers think it is feisable to run a WM 6.5 ROM at optimum performance on a Touch HD? Okay so we dont have the dedicated Windows Key, but surely we have the spec to run things such as the honeycomb
why ? Where told HTC to not suppport HTC Touch HD any further ?
hans
Did they? how silly of them.
dontworry key mapping is trivial
So, any links to back up that HTC won't release a updated rom?
link #1 - MS statement
"no devices in the market today will receive official 6.5 updates"
link #2 - HTC statement
"customers of the Touch Pro2 and Touch Diamond2 will get 6.5 upgrades for free"
So forget about official upgrade for out Blackstone..
So that means no WM6.5 with right updates for us huh?
No. To be honest, why should they? It's a major upgrade, and would cost HTC money to implement.
Bug fixes we are entitled to, not a new OS.
sorry to say
this has always been the same with WM.....
GET USED TO IT
Well I can't say that I'm particulary bothered about missing out on a free official upgrade to 6.5. From what I've seen so far Microsoft have just done what we've all be doing for some time now, that is making the OS more 'finger friendly'. I'm quite content with my HD now after installing some apps and tweaks to achieve this. Most from the pages of this wonderful forum.
And as for the honeycomb style today page.....they can keep it. Ugly!
To be honest why bother with 6.5 !!! Like all recent upgrades from MS it is just eye candy and nothing more...... Nothing radical or new just a knock off of the eye phone... The HTC Touch screen is more novel than MS....... Be nice if they innovated.....
Im not so bothered on the today section its the better finger menus i think will be good.
I think WM 6.5 looks great and IS A MUST for the Touch HD.
I also think it is absolutely customer ... off giving not wm 6.5 as a update - its ok to take money for it.
As you XDAlers always complain about apple - look at them - they improve the OS every 3 month and give new features and bug fiexes.
We with our nice HTC gadgets don-t get updates or new features.
I have my htc touch hd and love it, but the software is a hell of sloe any you can write as much as you want - WinMo 6.1 ist fuc... slow.
Take the G1 and see what the hardware is capable

They have to. OS X Mobile does not have proper Bluetooth support, multitasking support, MMS support, copy&paste support, etc., so most advanced user are really angry.
Windows Mobile, on the other hand, is mature OS. There is not much reason to upgrade from Win Mobile 6.1 to 6.5.
I've already talked with the manager of the distributor (father of a friend) here in my country before I bought the phone. They really said that they will not give updates to get the 6.5. but if xda-devs can make a rom out of it, it still wont be official. Hopefully MS solves the auto answer call when taking out the phone, i hate using s2u2 cuz there are sometimes delay and wastes a couple of rings (caller side)
Come on guys. 6.5 ? Honeycomb interface and that is about it, right ? Who cares since most of advanced users use 3rd-party UI anyway. It has FingerMenu version too and IE 6, but they are already here on HD
And since Diamond2/Pro2 will have 6.5 - HD will have it too. May be not officially, but ...
Listen ... I had HTC Wizard with WM5, which had never been officially upgraded. Did not stop me from have it with WM6.1 Pretty sure even Wizard will have 6.5, why not HD ? Dont worry about it.
is the ui all that 6.5 will bring? no additional backend features/settings?
Till yesterday i wanted WM6.5 in HD badly... actually, i still want it.
But now what i really really really want is the new TF3D
Jesus. Are only novice users writing here You want WinMo 6.5 Head over to the ROM section of THIS forum and you will get at least 2 WinMo 6.5 ROM's TODAY They are with early BETA versions of the OS, so you can see things others will MAYBE see in 7-8 months. That's the really cool thing about HTC devices. You always get the good stuff first
On the other hand...HTC actually offers WinMo ugrades for premium phones. Many WinMo 5 phones (including my old Artemis) got an official WinMo 6 upgrade and my Polaris recieved WinMo 6.1 as did the Kaiser, HTC Touch etc.
So stop complaining. The VERY first WimMo 6.5 ALPHA leaked for the...Blue Angel. For those not knowing this great device: The Blue Angel is shipped originaly with WinMo 2003 (not even SE) and is 5 years old.
Here see a Video people demonstrating WM 6.5

Its not so well performing, as I hoped, maybe it'll get better.
I know that i'm not alone in wanting to run windows mobile 6.5 on their treo pro, so i'm asking for one of the ROM designers to please develop a 6.5 rom that can be run on the treo pro. Honestly I think I understand why its not that popular, even though it's a beautiful phone, most people don't have one because of the hefty price tag for the unlocked version but unlocked or CDMA we still would like to run 6.5, Please Help!!!!
as already discussed in other threads of this TP section, you need hard SPL to be able to flash custom roms. Since there's no hard spl noone will cook the rom. It seems development of hard spl has stooped because the community is not large/intrested enough. Only chance is that Palm will release update themselves.
On the price of the Pro
I got the Trio Pro at Bestbuy unlocked for AT&T for 249.99 w/ 2 year contract and waived activation fee.... By far the best that I could find... I needed a phone w/ touchscreen, Windows Mobile 6.1 and some other minimum requirements that only gave me options of the ishy HTC Fuze, and the Samsung Epix, but I went w/ the Pro... I like it so far, I guess. Windows is windows as far as I'm concerned... No problems thus far other than just the limitations of windows
Then WM 6.5 final multilanguage version is realeased but S/E is doing an upgrade what will we do then??
Do You Guys think Microsoft will sell WM 6.5 ?
WM is OEM only so Ms will not sell WM 6.5 seperatly. It is completely up to the phone manufacturer if they will provide and upgrade, for free or for a price, to WM 6.5
As far as I know SE has not yet taken final decision in this question.
if they release x2 with 6.5 on it then giving upgrades to x1 devices could damage
their x2 sales
could also be that they will charge for 6.5 on x1 hp/compaq used to do stuff like that

Ov er du dansk Rudegar??
That forces X1 owner who wants a version of WM 6.5 into pirazy?
ja
&
well not really piracy
a cooked custom made rom from
another device is not really piracy
any more then any of the custom roms
in this site
nobody is being cheated of money
if sonyE don't offer wm6.5 and ms who don't
sell wm's to people
but when people do use custom roms
one can't expect support from official sonyE channels
and custom roms can have issues
A friend is selling an HD2 (t-Mobile) that I’m thinking on buying. A present I have an Tilt-2 (AT&T) running WM6.5. I would like to root the HD2 for AT&T and install WM6.5, and eventually Android. Below are my questions.
I have a back-up of WM6.5 OS from HTC's Tilt 2 support page. Can I load this on the HD2 after rooting?
One concerns I have is I was told the HD2 will never achieve 3g on AT&T. No mater what I do. Is this true?
Why would you want to have the Tilt's Winmo 6.5 on the HD2? The HD2 has it's own Winmo 6.5.
Better yet, install a custom HD2 rom with winmo 6.5.3 for an even better winmo experience.

What you are wanting to do is actually unlock the phone, not root(two different things). Unlocking will allow you to use a different provider's SIM card. If your friend is still with T-Mobile and his/her account is in good standing and has been for at least 90 days, he can contact T-Mobile and request the unlock code.
As far as WM6.5, as Cenobite said, it's already running WM6.5, unless your friend has flashed Android or WP7 to it. You can use the ROM that comes on it if it is running WM6.5, or you can browse the WM6.5 development section to find a custom ROM that you want to use.
Now as for what you have heard about it not being able to use AT&T's 3G, that is true. T-Mobile US' version of the HD2 does not have the frequency bands that AT&T uses for their 3G. There's no way around that as it is part of the hardware. You will only be able to get EDGE using it with AT&T.
Because I think he loaded Android. For now I need to keep 6.5 for the Garmin XT. If he did I cannot find HD2's 6.5 OS, but I do have a back-up T2 6.5. Didn’t know there was a difference.

If he did flash Android to it, and you need the 6.5 ROM for the HD2, you can find the stock T-Mobile US ROMs on this site, as well as custom 6.5 ROMs. Have a look in the "HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5" section.
