Simple question.
I've read about the new features of the 3rd version of Touch Flo (on the upcoming HTC Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2) and they are quite interesting.
I just wondered whether by any chance this new version could be installed on the HTC HD (once it's out of course)
Thx
there are already tons of custom roms with this new tf3d
Oh! I wasn't aware of that... have an example so I can test it?

Think the list is endless. Go to ROM's development forum and seach. I'm currently using Duttys 2.5 Xtreme, though Laurentius & Davideuck are just as commonly used

well... i always do my home work before posting, that is why i did ask question...i could not find any cab, and believe me i spent hours looking throughout our gigantic forum...
if u know location where such cab is hiding from my eyes please share it with us.
There is no "cab" install and there never will be.
This isn't just an application you install on your phone - it's a complete system overhaul, with new TF3D, with all new and / or updated system applications: phone, calendar, contacts, call history, calculator, browser etc.
Let me illustrate however the difference between the stock ROM and the custom cooked ROM's available here on XDA. It's like going from Skoda to latest Ferrari.
That means you'll get a lot of great looking stuff, many cool applications already included, everything will be as new as possible, you'll be running at MUCH faster speed, but you also have to accept that you'll "burn more gas" - battery life may take a small impact.
Is it worth it? Well, it's like you bought a new device, so - yes.

If you flash a ROM that already includes the new manila it will probably be alot smoother because the ROM will be optimized and tweaked for it! If you install it over the old Manila it probably won't give you the best experience... Also, the newer ROMs not only include the new Manila, but also things like finger-friendly menus!
really is that true???

I'm pretty new to all this as well and had a lot of difficulty figuring it out! What I think happens is this: The ROM is a bit like the BIOS so you can't modify it within WM6.1. Also, the original ROMs are protected so you can't replace them with an unofficial version (they are signed).
To get around this, you can use something like Hard SPL (which overwrites the existing ROM) or USPL (which works around it).
I finally went with USPL2.5 and Dutty's extreme ROM v2.6.
Incidentally, I'm not really noticing much of a speed improvement... Especially with the music player which now takes a second to load up... Am I meant to?
hey everyone! i got a question lol..
i decided to go with the tmobile 6.5 and was wondering is there way to have the the animated weather on the home screen? like in the newer sense
Hello
Yes,it is possible,of course.
I do not know about Tmobile ROMs though, but about HTC custom ROMs I do know.
You just need to install custom, official HTC WM6.5 ROM,and you will have everything on it...animated weather especially looks great.
You know the procedure of flashing? If you do not,go to ROM section, this is not a thread for it.
yes i know how to flash..
been coming here since my touch pro1 but i recently flashed to the tmobile rom just too check out the new upadate to 6.5..so i need the official htc rom instead?
You need to run a rom that specifically has the Sense 2.1 (notice SENSE and not just regular 2.1) or a rom that runs manilla 2.5. Either of those has the weather background you are talking about.
The problem is that T-Mobile changes the default wallpaper to something other than the animated weather wallpaper. I am looking for a way to enable the animated weather wallpaper on the TMOUS ROM and will post back if i find anything.

You can try this way. Pick a T-Mobile wallpaper you want. Use HDWall to make a cab from that wallpaper. Install the cab file and soft reset.
From what I can tell, T-Mobile replaced the animated weather wallpaper with some T-Mobile.png for the default wallpaper. Can anyone upload the animated weather wallpaper from the EU ROM or similar?
HTC Sense
Well guys,
I am reading all these posts, and I just wanted to give you all a small advice...
I realize that most of you guys live in the USA or Canada, and I can understand why do you want TMobile ROM that much.
However,I highly recommend official, stock HTC WM 6.5 ROM,because it has all the stuff we need.
Our friend asked for weather animated screen. So,if you really want that, install the ROM I mentioned and enjoy. No hacks,no registry editing,no nothing. Just flash and enjoy.
Besides,it has a lot of functions you will like a lot. ( And you will get a real,Windows Mobile 6.5 look..........
Best regards from Serbia.
well the official ROM is nice because then we don't have to load cabs for the keyboard and MMS fixes. As well as cabs for the my account, VVM, and myfaves if you happen to use it. I did run the EU ROM for a couple months until I found something better and it was great. But I do not need the animated weather wallpaper bad enough to prefer to install all the extra cabs i would need to make my phone work for me.
If you could go into your phone and attach the animated wallpaper then we could load it onto our phones as the default wallpaper and it would make life much happier
Animated Weather aka HTC Sense
@Zylograth
Well,I am really willing to help you guys, but maybe you know the following:
Animated Weather is highly complicated program, which is not consisted of animated wallpapers only. It changes according to weather...if it is rainy, small drops are all over the phones screen,if it is snowy, snowflakes are all around...if it is sunny, sunlight is all over the place..it is the most beautiful today screen I have ever seen.
However,I will try to figure something out. So far,I know it takes about 25 MB of RAM...can you imagine how big that .CAB file would be,when it takes about 25 MB of RAM? I need to find a way to extract it from my ROM and make it usable,(if it is possible at the first place, but I doubt)
Yeah, I am not too worried about it, though it would be nice to have. If I decide that I cannot live without it I will go back to the EU ROM, but for the time being I am happy with the TMOUS ROM lol

Thanks to El Daddy, weather animations are as simple as using HD walls and the hack below (old HD walls cabs made in winmo 6.1 work, too)
Awesome!

If you go with default background on Sense 2.1 you should get animated weather. This cab gives you animated weather for any background.
All credits to the original programmer.
Ok, excuse me if i'm wrong, but I was under the impression that TouchFLO3D and Sense 2.1 were the same thing. I do not have any weather on my home tab. I am running the stock WM6.5 ROM on an AT&T Branded Tilt 2.

I'm no expert, but I'm almost sure Sense 2.1 and TouchFLO3D are different, since icon packs are specified either for TouchFLO or for Sense.

I believe the last "TF3D" was in winmo 6.1, and starting with 6.5 it became the sense interface...and to further confuse things, the last version of TF3D and the first version of sense (on winmo anyway) are both referred to as "2.1" So, in other words, there exists both a TF3D 2.1 and a Sense 2.1, but they're not exactly the same thing.
Ahh, well then, I have TouchFLO3D v2.1. It actually says "TouchFLO3D" when the plugin is loading. I didn't think there was a difference. My mistake. So I guess my question should be, "Is there a weather clock, like that in Sense 2.5, that will run on TouchFLO3D v2.1?"

I hate to be the one to say this but no. you will need to flash an updated rom that has Sense in it. The stock att rom doesnt have the needed files for it to work

Nope, my new Tilt 2 had TF3D and Winmo 6.5. To my knowledge sense is an adaptation from other devices that the sense interface has been skimmed from and cooked into a custom rom. I don't believe there is any way to get the Home screen weather on a stock Tilt 2 rom with TF3D. Upgrade to a custom rom, it is worth it, even though you will find yourself forever tinkering with your phone from the day you flash your first one.
Is there something like the old HTC Home Customizer that will work for the Touch Pro2? I've spent the last hour wading through this forum trying to find a way to replace the awful, 1970's flippy clock with a simple digital clock.
Is there a solution ?

If Sense == Manila, then the programs mentioned are of no help. I have Manila 2.1, and already screwed up the phone once trying to use a 2.5 program.
I hope someone doesn't chime in "Well just flash a new ROM." Unless someone can show me a compelling reason, (and a detailed list of the changes it would introduce), I'm not interested in doing that.

Manila Sense 2.1 / 2.5 *Updated March 11, 2010*
looks fairly simple:
-Steps for Sense 2.5 2012 Installation (INSTALL ALL TO DEVICE MEMORY):
1. Install .net 3.5
2. Install SDKCerts
3. Disable Auto Phone Shutoff:
-If on battery power: Settings\System\Power\Advanced and uncheck Turn off device if not used for
-If on external power: Settings\System\Power\Advanced and uncheck Turn off device if not used for
4. Disable TF3D 2.0 (Go to Start/Settings/Today/Items and uncheck HTC Sense or TF3D)
5. Soft Reset
6. InstallSense 2.5 2012 CFC / Sense 2.5 2012 CFC Mirror (CFC Compressed and includes all fixes. Once settled in, it runs very well! It also includes some new tabs and many tweaks/goodies! Plus, the multimedia key is now mapped to rotate the screen)
7. Soft Reset
8. Once everything is loaded and stable:
Enable Auto Phone Shutoff:
-If on battery power: Settings\System\Power\Advanced and check Turn off device if not used for
-If on external power: Settings\System\Power\Advanced and check Turn off device if not used for

My issue with flashing ROMS isn't difficulty, it's having a definitive reason to do so, and finding a clear description of the changes in the ROM.
Thanks for the tip on installing manila 2.5. Didn't know that could be done. But looking at a comparison of 2.1 and 2.5, I don't see an advantage, and see a couple of disadvantages.

There is an EVO ROM that has a customizer built in by the cook. I used that ROM for a little while, but really like the customizer, you could change the flip clock, analog clock, clock background, font and other things. This was a really nice feature. I have searched for an add-on or standalone app that I could install that would do this as well. Customizing is the main thing we are ALL trying to do here.
Anybody had any luck with this?!
Hi guys! sorry if this has already been posted, but i really cant find the answer anywhere, and im a heavy reader of the forum.
Is there any way to install HTC Sense by myself on a "no sense" android version?
i know most u guys hate sense, but i find it quite usefull, as it brings a good calendar widget (full screen syncronised with google calendar), the people widget (that syncronises with facebook app automatically) and friendstream (which i like a lot to keep me posted with news, people and tweets updates).
The reason why i dont just install an android version with htc sense already on, is cos i have noticed that all versions with sense, have the camera limited to 3mpx, but the ones running froyo 2.2 can be set at 5 mpx.
sorry if the question has an obvious answer that i couldnt figure out myself.
I'm looking find a solution for this too. I've tried to use some .apk files under /system/app from Desire ported rom but it doesn't work under Nexus One based roms
MattC version includes two cameras 2&5MP
HD2 Energy Cookies ROM, 2.10.50, MattC sense
Sense requires different framework.res and a few other things. It has to be a sense rom to start.(I understand its a major ordeal to add to nonsense rom). So in short it can't be just installed. Hope this helps.
