wm 6.1 support titanium??? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Is there any way to make titanium works in wm 6.1???

Wrong place to post a question you didnt read?
WM6.1 + Titanium... I dont think so...
Mods... do your dids...

Technically, yes & no. As of right now, there is no 6.1 rom version successfully running Chome without bugs. There are packages that would need to be cooked & drivers that need to be replaced for it to work.
However, I have to say that YES, it can be done. It takes a bit of work & really the rom is considered more of a Hybrid than strictly a stock 6.1 rom. I have had it working on 6.1 hybrid cores, albeit with several issues, but nothing that couldn't be fixed by someone smarter than I with more time on their hands.

I tried installing a mod version of 6.5lock cab file in a 6.1 ROM and it wont install! But I am sure it can be done with some tweaks!

WM 6.5 ROM vanilla

I want to flash my Elfin with any WM 6.5 ROM. But the problem is, there are a *lot* of them in the wild, and I'm confused.
In http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=541886, you can see a bar at the bottom which is absent in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426540. Also, in the first one, the start menu is shifted to the bottom.
I'm looking for a simple WM 6.5 ROM with the *least* modifications done to it.
Any recommendations?
Also, is WM6.5 good to use *without* M2D?
First, windows mobile 6.5 is now a very 'loose' build, which means Microsoft just works on the builds and release them as and when they like it and along the way, they work on new BETA features. Or features which do not work well.
Some of the builds have start buttons at the bottom because Microsoft changed some of the features of it (Again, its Microsoft issue).
Do be reminded that Windows Mobile Official 6.5 is not out yet.
Hmmm, thanks for the reply. I have another question.
When I hard reset my phone, M2D, and other M2D components like Audio Manager, HTC Album, Phone Canvas etc. is retained.
When I dump my rom following this guide http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_HowtoDumpRom, will all that stuff be there in the backup? I.e., if I want to flash this backup, will the M2D etc be flashed with it?
If not, is there a way to backup the whole thing? I'm not talking about the apps I install. I'm talking about M2D etc. which are in my ROM since I bought it. Since they are retained even after a hard reset, I guess there must be a way to back them up along with the ROM.

Also, can someone direct me to a guide for HSPL? I found one on this website but it's confusing.
Okay guys, I need some replies fast .
Question:
If I dump my ROM using this method (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_HowtoDumpRom), then *will* the M2D, Audio Manager etc be backed up with it? I think they should, because they were 'cooked' into the ROM, i.e. if I hard reset, they are retained.
...No one?
Well, rom dumping is quite hard.
What? This (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_HowtoDumpRom) process was pretty simple. But do you know the answer to my question?

when the cab version of the TF2.5 will be available?
What??
Come on guys... the title of this thread states theme [THE]... this is not a theme at all, it's a request [REQ]
PS. While I'm here, I'll add my bit... I WANT IT ALL!!
I will add my voice to this request. While I appreciate the work that the various cooks on this site do (I'm currently using Yozgatg's Gen.Y D2 R4) I would like to have a stock ROM (either 2.03.401.3 or 2.03.405.3) with TF3D 2.1.
I am aware that Yozgatg also has an installation procedure to install TF3D 2.1, but the only problem I've found with it (at least when I do it) is that it takes a phenomenal amount of device RAM! You need to have 20Mb free just to install it, and when I have tried I have been left with about 6Mb free at the end of the procedure. I don't know if this is down to remnants of the original TF3D still being left on the device or what. Compare this to Yozgatg's Gen.Y D2 R4 cooked ROM which, after installing the other odds and sods that I use, still leaves me with about 42Mb free.
Great though the cooked ROMS are, the authors add or take away various components (which is their right, as they are cooking the ROMS to their own needs and then sharing them with the rest of us) e.g. I have flashed a 6.5 ROM before where all the games were missing.
I would really like a stock ROM with an updated TF3D.

I am trying A.Z.T.O.R. ROM final WM6.1 with GEN Y manila 2.1 R1.5..i can tell that i have never seen my Diamond sooo fast and stable (until now) i used mtty to flash i added BWtaskbar that makes also the X button bigger in some apps that helps a lot.The true thing is that i miss WM6.5.1. (Bsb rom i used),but the functionality of the tf3d 2.1 R1.5 is much better for everyday use than Titanium. That's my opinion!
What you're all asking for will never happen.
TF3D 2.5 will never be ported to VGA by HTC so you'll never see a stock ROM with it.
You might be able to install it via cab once XOR have finished porting it but chances are you'll at least need WM6.5 or build 21000 and above. I'd put my money on it that you guys running ROM version 2.03 are not running a build number high enough.
Do some searching before posting too. All these questions have been answered in the TF3D 2.5 VGA thread.
Manila 2.5 will never be availabe as a cab because , there are files which will not fit into 256mb rom (Diamond) , because manila 2.5 would not replace 2.1 , the files are entirely different so additional files need to be added.
I'm using - SUN Y 6.1 - Manila 2.5 Beta 3 by Kisja. Works almost PREFECT. fast and Stable.
Will be more stable with newer release.

which is the best x7500 rom???

hi guys i want to know which is the best x7500 rom (the faster, the one that its not stucking all the time...) and if is possible a link with this rom and instractions for that jop thanks...
Currently, in my opinion, is 28002.5.3.0 of AVENGERPENGUIN.
Rapid and stable WM6.5.
This is SPL 3.5
I do not know where you can download now.
If you are interested I can try upload it to FTP.

I may still have copy of this if you need it re-uploading.
Back to the original question, it largely depends on what you want from a rom, what version of windows you want 6.1 or 6.5, do you want a full rom/lite rom, stable but older build or latest but potentially more unstable.
There are many offerings available that should suit your needs, please be aware of what SPL version you have, as mine and I think lennies only work on SPL 3.5
sorry but i am newbei so where can i see what spl i have. i want to use wm6.5 and now i have one rom created by michyprima i think this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409528 so what i need is a rom with good grafics, touchfrendyer stable and with much options(apps)....
I've tried a few, and I personally prefer michyprima's work, especially his clean editions.
The best one I've found is the Athena Project beta 6.5.
Pros-
Really quick
Most apps I've tried work
Cons-
Loads of apps cooked in
I've personally found most of the others I've tried to be slower.
As a complete noob, I've found this thread very appropriate.
I've just scored an X7500 (with strangely dropod branded) - (SPL 3.5).
It is running WM6.1, and I'm keen to upgrade it to 6.5.
I've been using this thread, and
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397518 <-- that thread to find a 6.5 version.
However, there seems to be a lot of choice, and I haven't been able to find any of the versions quoted in this thread. Although there is a 6.5 clean version by MiChy.
I'm looking for a stable, good, WinMo 6.5. I'm quite happy to have lots of apps, presumably I can uninstall ones I don't like.
The only app I really 'need' is the transcriber, and I'm sure I can install that after the fact.
So... If I don't get much response, I guess i will try out one of the MiChy versions, and see how I go.
Hmmm...
I tried downloading both the MiChy 6.5 ROMs - ie. clean, and 'normal'.
However, my antivirus software doesn't like the downloads...
15/04/2010 6:13:04 p.m. HTTP filter file rs402tl.rapidshare.com/files/220926710/1064829/Athena_SPL3.5_R1_CE_B21500_MiChY.rar probably a variant of Win32/TrojanDropper.Agent trojan connection terminated - quarantined
I'm now trying a very slow download of the 6.5 ROM by avengerpenguin
WM6.5 Build 23060 [v1.02RV][v1.02] 07/10/2009 X7500 ROM (SPL 3.5)
Will see how we go...
Hmmm... I finally downloaded the avengerpenguin ROM, extracted the rar file, and got the same antivirus warning...
I'm guessing the signature for the ROM / uploader / whatever is similar to the virus... I think I'll turn off the AV software, cross my fingers and hope for the best.

Don't worry about anti virus warning; it is just a false alarm. Go download whichever ROM you want. So far the 4/3/10 ROM is to me the best 6.5 ROM.

This is interesting, I have finally got "myCHI 6.1" which is ok but sometimes freezes up, and with thumbs-up feedback of 6.5 ROM, I want to give it a go, so then where can this ROM be safely downloaded with broken links?
Thanks
I am surprised because i have used michy's wm6.1 R0 clean for almost 2 years and i hardly experience any "freeze up."

[Q] TEST ANDROID over other Windows Mobile ROM

I want to know if it is worth a try? What do you think? I sounds like a good idea

I dont know what Roms you have available for your device but it may be worth adding a section with what Roms (stock or custom) work with Android and what ones arent working correctly. While Android is emulated, there are still some WinMo drivers that affect the operation of your Android port and certain Roms may not work.
It may be worth trying to flash a different Rom and then try Android again.

I currently use:
ROM-Version (Vodafone)Switzerland German: 1.41.166.1, (10904) Radio:0.63.05.41
the next one I will try is:
[ROM][25.06.2011][WWE-ITA-FRA-ELL-GER-RUS-SPA-NLD-DAN] ver 3.10 nsourm -build 29022
ver.5 - RUU_Signed_????no_sense_clean.nbh is without sense and cookies home tab and without extra apps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801481
The nsourm rom is highly recommended and very stable (version 3.1) I also run this base WM6.5 ROM too (without sense and without cookies home tab). It seems to be quite compatible with the Android port as it mostly follows stock rom philosophy.
The other optional cab that has been installed is the stock icons.cab located here as without it, my SPB shell doesn't show all the icons properly. I have no problems with the Android Loader 1.0 dual boot application (set to autoboot after 10 seconds). I'd first flash the stock ROM then this one if wanting to change from another custom ROM.
you tried over nsourm 3.1 and Android works well, but have you tried over your stock ROM? and have you noticed any difference? such as. that something works better, or that something is not working at all?
I have not tried Android with my stock ROM and don't want to go back to stock ROM either as I still need to use WM6.5 from time to time - because there is no Garmin for Android! Stock ROM used to crash often whereas with nsourm 3.1 it is definitely much more stable given it incorporates more recent builds. I would assume that given nsourm is close to stock ROM philosophy (but with much more recent builds) that there would not be much difference to anything that ran in Android. Maybe someone has already tested for the differences.. and can let us know the results!
Hi, 15Ma1l,
I tried four different of HTC Official ROMs for my htc mini, and I can say: There isn't any Difference and all of them were same when booting android. and I knew this idea for months.
but I didn't tried nsourm ROM, because of arabic persian unicode support?
thank you for answers !
iPlasm could you please write a list with these ROMs you already tried?

If there is better than these ROM images, I will Thank you for you... but IT Must support Unicode arabic and persian

[Q] ROM (builds and kitchen)

Hi all.
I'm creating a Windows Mobile Rom.
1)---I want to create a rom modifying my smartphone's rom and NOT creating a rom from a clean one (it will be almost impossibile).
2)---Which kitchen can i use?
3)---Where can I download the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5 Builds? (Da-G's download don't work anymore on Mediafire)
Thanks
Try OS Builder as this is the most advanced and all in one solution. But be aware that if you start from an already cooked ROM you may face many kinds of problems because many cooks have applied methods to prevent dumping their ROMs.
Good luck!

But, to pass from Winmo 6.0 to Winmo 6.1 or 6.5, do I need 6.1 or 6.5 builds (xip, sys)?
Where can I download these build?

Oh well - you are much on your own with this old stuff now. Usually you cannot do much to the XIP (Kernel) parts as they are largely HW dependent. SYS is part of the ROM anyway and so part of regular cooking. Lookup the forums for your device and download what you can get. If it is an exotic device your chances are ~zero to get anything useful. If you have no experience in cooking it is a very long way to succeed (talking in weeks and months of learning!) - and there no others fighting the same problems any more. Look up the introduction link from my signature to get an idea of how things are connected.
What is your starting point (HW, ROM) and where do want to go?
TOBBIE, in practice I want to use Os Kitchen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=628948) because it's very simple to use.(I can alredy use it).
I downloaded but when I open it, I have the first screen (that showed in the thread). Is written: "....please, select an official rom update file..." It refers to an update Windows Mobile Build for cook the Rom.
So I searched Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5 Builds. I found 2 very good Builds from Da_G :
-6.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547314
-6.5 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544445
But ALL Links don't work and I ABSOLUTELY need this Build, without it, I can't cook...
Sorry, I have no experience with OS Kitchen. I have only used OS Builder finally and a very old device specific batch-kitchen before this.
Thanks, Can i give you "THANKS"?
But with wich build did you used to cook?

Well first you need to split smartphone (no touchscreen) from touchscreen devices.
I have cooked only for smartphone -> see my signature kitchen and stuff is all there.
Then find a stock ROM for the right type (smartphone or touchscreen) with largely similar properties (screen resolution, maybe also CPU/Chipset).
Can't you tell which device you want to cook for?
I want to cook for my Toshiba Portege G910 with WinMob 6 Professional.
It's touchscreen, it has Qwerty Keyboard, it has Wvga Resolution 800x480. There is not even a rom for this device.
But I want to cook in Italian language, (I'm italian )
This will be tough I guess. Mind that a new ROM will not change the kernel, so any of the new memory schemes introduced with W6.1 and WM6.5 will not apply even if you put a new OS on top of it. So basically you will not gain speed with a new ROM. Adding a language is a tricky thing but is possible, see my signature, even without cooking an all new ROM. So is there no Italian on the device at all?
Oh, I'm sad for this: no extra speed
When I bought, my phone had italian language.
The Toshiba Portege G900 is very very similar to my G910. Also the G900 has WinMob 6.0 Pro.
An Italian guy made a Winmo 6.1 rom for the G900 (in italian language), and now the G900 is very very fast. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4h23pR6JbI
I want to this with my G910, IT'S possible. Salvyc83 do this
(But now he can't help me)
Search for speed tweaks on WM6 if you are happy with the device otherwise. The effort to cook a well running 6.1 is enormous and it is not guaranteed if you get it faster on the UI then.
There are various registry settings to play with which can make the UI faster responding (cache for icons or fonts).
Good luck!
I need too to learn cooking roms. I will follow this thread.
