Simply turn the phone on. Most settings with install automatically.
Read the wiki pages and hopefully these will guide you further
You will need to sync your phone to your pc using activesync and your usb cable which comes with the phone.
Most applications/software will come in either .exe or.cab format. All .exe files are installed from youir pc while phone is sync'd. Just follow the on screen instructions once you open the file.
.cab files are installed directly from your phone. Once your phone is sync'd to your computer via usb cable transfer .cab file to your phone using file explorer then open file on your phone using phone file explorer

--are you sure that the base rom hasn't .net 3.5 already installed?
.net compact framework 3.5 is not standard installed on a TD2 aka Topaz.
Download it from MSDN Microsoft here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/default.aspx

You should have a Active Sync (Windows XP) connection with your device.
For Windows Vista and Windows 7 you must connect through Windows Mobile Device Center.
Active Sync 4.5 and Windows Mobile Device Center are free for download from Microsoft: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/activesync-download.mspx
It looks like the framework is being installed on your PC but it will be installed on your phone.
You must have .net compact framework 3.5 from my link above.

having the same problem. I connected Topaz to PC via active sync and waited to install net framework. Tried to open advanced config and said I needed net framework 3.5 at least. I think I know the problem, I JUST THINK :d

I`m confused too: my polaris says - .NET 3.5 is already at the ROM but I´ve got a punch of apps which cannot be installed on behalf of lecking "actual .NET-version"????
sucks a lot - could somebody give me a hand instead of HR?

and run it on your PC. The idea is that it'll then copy CF3.5 to your device the next time you connect via activesync. If it doesn't do that for some reason then goto C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\SDK\CompactFramework\v3.5\WindowsCE on your PC and copy the file NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab onto your D2. Then using the D2, find that file in File Explorer and click on it, to install it manually.

That link is for the desktop .NET 3.5, not the Compact Framework, which kinda explains why people were having no success with it!
I have isntalled on my PC compact version and same problem ...

If you don't use Activesync, you may want to get just the cab file instead. Just google for NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab, then instal like any other app, to the main memory.
Also, whilst you're about it, google netcfcfg.cab. This app lets you set windows CF policy, so that all apps which need CF2.0 to run will automatically use your newly installed CF3.5, which is apparently better and more stable.
The file sizes should be 2644KB and 34KB respectively.

I was never able to get the cab file to work. Every time I ran it on the phone, I got an error saying that the aplication was not installed. When I installed the full msi on my laptop with the TD2 attached it successfuly installed on the phone.
works great. copy NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab, install, soft reset and go for it

For all of you trying to instal WP7 and getting stuck at the dreaded chevron unlocker "Uh-OH" that will not let you pass, look no further. There are a lots of ifs and buts but no definite answer to it. Below method worked 100%.
I tried it multiple times. I in no way encourage you to use WP7 and unlocking procedures but heres simply what you do if you want to do
Instal Zune
Connect WP7-HD2
Click on the sync relationship below the picture of your LEO70
key in any name...i used HD7
Once connected, create a zune id...You can use your windows live id though
Goto settings ---date and time and uncheck automatic date VERY IMPORTANT
sync your phone...Check if port 443 is free that means no SKYPE or anything. Instal registry key in windows
Put chevron installer on root of C
Stop any antivirus & anti spyware IMPORTANT
Run chevron with administrative controls
Make sure before running chevron that Wp7 is Screen on and not keypad locked. Make sure the white screen on zune is there clearly showing your phone model and name that you made.
I do NOT have the developers kit or tools installed.
I am on windows 7 64 bit
So this kills all speculations.
Hope you guys can get it to work.
I needed to disable my web proxy (Privoxy, in my case) for ChevronWP7 to work.
Note that you may need to reboot for proxy changes to be picked up by the Zune *service* (not the app).

DID you disable the auto time settings?
did you add the registry key?
Mind restarting the phone and the PC?

Do you see your phone in the Zune window or is it a shadow?
Uninstal zune....restart....instal zune...restart.
plug phone into a dufferent USB

I'm on XP to and i can't make chevron running. what do you mean about registry key? I have to add it on my computer?

There doesn't seem to be a cure-all for this issue.
I was able to get mine successfully unlocked yesterday almost by chance.
I had to keep going into Command Prompt (administrator mode), keying in c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc, and then executing "notepad hosts" and deleting the host file that the phone kept creating everytime I ran Chevron.
I also had my phone in airplane mode.
Today, I decided to blow up the phone with Task29 and reflash WP7 to see if it helped my battery performance. Much to my chagrin, I was unable to duplicate whatever worked for me yesterday.
I'm back on Android until this is fixed with a known, proven solution for multiple users.

I accidentally relocked the device but It wont unlock againn???? What kind of justification is that. Now I cant go back to unlcoked mode now.!!! Please help. Tried all of the above.

how did you install the windows phone drivers because when I plug my phone on my computer ( windows Vista 32bit) it just say it just say installing that's it. Also i can't see the phone in Zune no matter what USB port i use or computer. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing I did would get it working with WinXP, I finally gave up and installed Win7 on a spare drive and it worked on the second or third go.

then go in settings>applications>development and enable usb debugging
connect phone,open droid explorer and click refresh,then computer will see the phone

droid explorer is not made by htc..but is the only one which works right now for htc hd mini

which version of Windows you use? I have windows 7 64 bit, and DroidExplorer.0.8.8.2.x64 ... no problems have been experiencing.

wait for new Android version and HTC Sync will work
Respected ALL, i am using HTC Hd2 . i installed Real Soccer 2012 from Play Store. it installed & Downloaded fine then i ran it and it was working perfect , no lags no errors . i just played it. then when i quit the game and after some time i again clicked on rs2012 icon & wanted to play , it just did nothing and after 5 second loading came back to the screen . and not able to start it again.
can you please tell me how to fix this problem.

one more question , i have installed win 7 to my htc hd2 . but it is not activating through the popular method of ChevronWP7. this is what i did,
but i think this method is old now and very very complicated , isn't there some other way to crack wp7?
1. Install WP7 sdk (Not confirmed, Skip and see if it works);
2. Install zune;
3. Make partneship with zune and phone;
4. Attach the cert to your email and send the email to your email itself (On PC);
5. Login to your email account (On Phone), Open the email, Select attachment and install the cert;
6. Connect your phone to pc and make sure zune is running in background;
7. Run the unlocker (ChevronWP7.exe) and click unlock button(Make sure your phone date is set correctly);
6. Install toms .xap installer;
7. Deploy Connection Setup.xap, Touch Xplorer.xap and XBMODDeployer.xap (Install it on the phone);
8. Copy the .provxml from the ringtons folder to the windows folder (on the phone using touch explorer app);
9. Run connection setup to install the .provxal;
10. Setup up your live ID and enter the activation code (on the phone).
there are new WP7 (WP7.8) that are already working fine, you just need to get the activation code either via email or talking to someone from MS support which i did & got my activation code.
