when you boot holding camera you see the SPL, if you see skateboarding androids then you're good, if not then go find the HardSPL in the dev forum

quick help mytouch 32b

i have a mytouch, 32b magic, with the "perfect spl".
i have downgraded and installed amon ra's 1.3.? recovery, i believe all i need to do is install the enganeering(however you spell it) spl but i can't download from rapidshare as i'm a free user and it keeps saying try later. i don't have money to become a premium user, is there anyone out there with the spl that doesn't mind sending it to me via email?? valefour611.at.aol.com
this would be greatly appreciated.
one last thing, i don't know how to check if i have root access... the steps i've mentioned are all i've done, is there something i'm missing other than installing the ENG spl before i attempt to flash a rom???
i came from a G1 that i downgraded and rooted with the whole typing "telnetd" and what not... it was reflashed over and over without any problems... installed the danger spl and redone everything when cyanogen released the "bare bones" roms so please don't talk smack about searching and all that junk because i am posting this as my last resort. been working on the mytouch for hours and got the downgrade and recovery from searching but now i'm just stuck without the proper spl.
any help is greatly appreciated, thanx.
sounds good man... lol
anywho, i don't really know what i did but powering on with the "back" button held down gave me these readings:
HBOOT - 1.33.2005
CPLD - 10
RADIO - 2.22.19.26I
does that mean i'm good to go and will be able to flash roms now??
i was looking for roms and the sapphire forums are hella clutered... what's a good rom to flash??? i like the cyanogen roms but don't know which one to try or where to find them as it seems he doesn't post how to flash his roms to 32b users on here(???). any rom will do, just need a name of one that isn't laggy.
thanx again.
yeah, thanx for all the help guys.
i got everything working flashed the latest cyanogen rom. ^_^

Some help for a newbie. CM mod help

So yesterday i decided to root my HTC magic 1.2 (my touch 3.55mm jack)
Root went well (had a small problem finding the correct sappimg but i found it,
Got Ra's recovery working as well and flashed an allmost stock fender rom/w root.
worked with no problems.
wanted to try 2.1 (eclair i think) So i flashed a str0kes rom. went easy looked cool but was too buggy for me (no usb teather! or wireless teather! or BT)
so then i wanted to try CM and i've had alot of trouble trying to understand the steps for flashing this rom, i was able to get it running (touch screen and all) but it was very slow
what i had try to do was just flash the cm mod update. (hell it worked)
then i came accross this
[Rom][32a][3.22] CyanogenMod 5.0.7-Stable Eclair 2.1 (05/28/2010) Mod Revision-2
Witch sounded awesome
I had no idea how to downgrade(i think i got close?!)
Or what i really had to do, i was able to get to the andriod screen but it hung right there. i tryed flashing the downgraded spl and rom but it refused to boot passed HTC magic screen. tryed flashing a diffrent radio and spl and it bricked (update fail ) so i have a new one on the way and my buddys to pratice on.
Can anyone help me/ explain to me how to install the oc'd rom?
Thanks in advance and sorry for you're time
If you would read, you'd notice that the newest release from Cyanogen himself says it will work with myTouch 1.2. You need the kernel for 32A, the ROM, and the Google add on. Flash them in that order and your good to go. I've been running it on a myTouch 1.2 that I rooted using instructions from unlockr and here and it works perfect.
I can't post a link, but the thread in under Dream development as Lean Mean Pastry Machine.
BTW, I would not recommend running 5.0.7 OC. 528 was FAST... Super D fast.
WEll i fugred out what lead to the bricking of my phone. apparently the downgrade guide i followed was for the older 32A models.... Dang...
So after rooting with a gold card i should flash the 32A kernel via ra's recovery then flash the cm mod?
(how do i install the google apps?)
I may try this out soon on my other my touch (brrowed my dads lol..till monday when my new one gets to me!)
The unlockrs guide was helpful, i pretty much memorized the rooting process
-creategold card
- transfer sappimg
update via hboot.
Flash radio and spl for touch screen.
Then flash amon ra's recoery rom correct?
After that i should boot into recovery flash the kernel then cm mod? should i reboot back to recovery after wards?
So can anyone hook me up with a little instruction?

This link should have everything you need. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614 You just need to flash HSPL >>Android compatible Windows ROM (so you do not have sound issues and others issues) then flash an Android build. You also may need to update your radio depending on which one you have. But that link will tell you everything you need to know.
I think this is what you were asking lol?

Q Trouble with energy rom for HTC HD2

I have downloaded the energy rom for the HD2 ive don everything i was meant 2 like the radio and the hspl but im stuck on the boot logo screen and it doesnt change at all and i cant get it workin i only installed this rom cos i was gonna put froyo on it 2 run android but now i cant can some1 plz help me and yes i am a noob can some1 tell me how 2 restore it back 2 the original OS so it works again cos i need my phone and can it be step by step
I was going to type out how to do it, but I don't remember each step that vividly... In the regular hd2 section you can get help in the rom development forum for how to revert back to the stock rom. The top stickies should have all the info you need, plus downloads to the stock roms.
I have similar problem with Sencity Energy rom, and radio 2.15.50.14. Got stuck forever at android boot screen (green HTC logo) forever. I've tried several android builds but neither got past boot screen.
Anyone have solution to this problem?

sure, pull the battery cover, press the soft reset button, or pull the battery.... reinstall battery, it'll boot up into WM... done.
might i recomend formating your sdcard before trying again.
and yes , firs boot into android will take probably 20 min, it has to build a new filesystem on the sdcard, initialise, and a whole bunch of technical stuff thats obviously way over your head.
Hi ,I use energy rom too and i use this android rom and works perfectly try it out.
my radio version 2.07.50.27_2
I use the drop mode version.

If you could post a link 2 it plz it would help me a lot thanks
I'm new to all this as I only loaded HSPL 2.08 on my phone for the 1st time on Sunday evening. I then loaded the new 2.14.50.* radio. Then I loaded NRG's 21916 Original Cookie ROM. Everything worked fine. And then yesterday I downloaded FroyoStone_Sense and followed instructions and now I'm playing Fruit Ninja
The steps I followed are
those for the energy ROM thread in this forum
then
search for "How to Install Android 2.2 Froyo on HTC HD2 easily" on google.

Go to the energy ROM thread, you'll find answers without having to ask.

Go to "settings, sound" and turn off audible touch tones in the "feedback" section. If that doesn't work, next time you're in a call turn on speakerphone and then turn it off again. That should stop your problem till next reboot. The first suggestion normally resolves the problem though.
Good luck

Just wanted to thankyou all for helping me last week. and to the guy who took the piss, ask for help and I got none. so thankyou to u all, yes thankyou for the £20 charge I got from HTC for for sending my phone back to get it repaired under warranty, then not getting it repaired at all and still having to pay, because they say there was custom ROM on it even though i put a stock ROM on. so thankyou all again tossers
Stock rom over USB doesn't remove Hspl. That's the only way you could have a stock rom and them still be able to tell.
If you are convinced the spl was correct, then they played you just to see how you reacted.
no, thank you for searching and reading the plethora of threads on how to remove HSPL and flash a stock ROM on your phone. Don't blame us because you decided not to read, all you would have had to do is take a picture of your bootloader and ask if that looks like stock, someone would have set you straight.
If you go around blaming others for your mistakes then you can never really take responsibility for your own actions and your life will be a cold, grim, sordid affair.
ruminate on it.

Yes if you did not flash it via SD card then you needed to manually change HSPL back to SPL via the DFT HSPL Utility. Sorry you were miss informed my friend.
Edit: Are you 100% sure you flashed the correct stock ROM for your HD2? Also like Orangekid said you can only truly blame yourself as there is a crap load of threads covering this exact subject. Remember information is key, and Knowledge is power.
i removed HSPL 2.08 and put on SPL 2.08. i put on a stock WWE rom but they said that the phoen was branded to Virgin, but I know that the phone accepted any sim card
I used HSPL 3 to remove hspl and put spl on

In that case you chose the wrong spl in Hspl.exe
Mines been back to service twice, both times flashed USB then Hspl.exe to remove Hspl, but you gotta match spl ver to the rom you load.

Well, do you know which SPL comes with the Virgin branded phone? You can't just downgrade to ANY spl, it has to match with what the carrier was using at the time.
anyways i think I am going to get rid of the phone when i get it back and just get a phone with android. the phone battery life is just crap, thinking of gettin the samsung galaxy apollo if I can find somewhere to get in unlocked
the thing is i thought that the spl could be upgraded anyway with newer ROMs that came out
Spl 2.x are stock for tmous phones only. Also, the phone being network unlocked means nothing, mines unlocked but a wwe rom would be unauthorized because the phone is branded, so only o2 roms will be valid.
For others reading this when you get told "flash stock rom", the safest way is use only the rom the HTC website lets you grab using your serial.
If you plan to remove Hspl using Hspl.exe, match versions, rom 1.4 spl 1.42.0000 rom 1.6 1.7 spl 1.66.0000 rom 3.14 spl 3.03.0000
There are NO regular hd2s with spl 2.x

Yes this is true this is why I thionk it is best for people to go back to stock by just flashing via SD card as not only does it revert everything, but not everyone knows what SPL version the need for their HD2. Also you have to remember if you have to revert back to SPL 3.10.0000 you have to use the SD card method has SPL 3.10.0000 is not included in HSPL 4.

Live and let learn. I don't think 2days worth of usage on 1 charge is crap, but hey, i know it's tough reading hundreds of threads dating back 2yrs ago. Hope you'll enjoy your samsung apollo.

I get the same out of both winmo and android. Then again, both my custom roms on winmo and android are very bareboned. They're stripped of apps that I dont use, even google apps.

I personally still think it is better to revert back to stock via SD card as far as for warranty proposes. Cause not only does it revert everything at one time. But most people have no clue as to what the right SPL version they need is. Also HSPL does not have SPL 3.10.0000 in it so flashing via SD card is the only way to get it nack as of right now.
Edit: Sorry for the double post but as so many people were posting in this thread I thought my first post did not get through asa I did not see it at first LOL Sorry again.

That's fine but if you root the phone and flash a recovery, bootloader, splash screen, custom ROM, and/or kernel you better read up on how to return it to stock if you send it in to Samsung on warranty
also fyi I get a full day of action on my CM7 build running off SD and same with my WP7 running off NAND, your poor battery may have come from you radio, your kernel, your sd card (if you were running an SD build), your ROM, your cpu scaling settings, and/or your general usage, so I wouldn't blanket "poor battery usage" on the phone itself.

I have absolutely no sympathy for you.
This is a perfect example of somebody who doesn't do enough research and expects all the correct answers to be given to him.
If you had used common sense and done a bit of research you could have EASILY reverted to proper stock for you warranty to pass, there is no excuse as there is plenty of info available to you here.
You couldn't be bothered so its your own fault nobody elses.
Cry to mom, she may get you a Nokia 3310, which would be a much more suitable phone.

My battery life is excellent. 2-4mA on standby.
Its a common misconception that battery life is bad in general which it simply is not. I grant you that there is a few custom roms with bugs that cause high battery useage but they are in the minority.
Aslong as you do a clean install (task29 etc) and flash a good rom you are fine.
Again, you just haven't done enough research.
PS. If you think going to a native Android device will give you alot more battery life you are mistaken, even native Android uses as much battery as the HD2 does.
"Just wanted to thankyou all for helping me last week. and to the guy who took the piss, ask for help and I got none."
The second reply in your "help me" post was correct
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12540476&postcount=3
" just flash your Stock ROM via SD card and you will be good to go for warranty."
and he even included a link to the tutorial on how to do it. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=681317)
But you decided otherwise.
Sad, but no ones fault but yours.
there are posts missing from that thread. also after the guy was taking the piss I didnt bother coming back to look at other posts as I thought thats all i was going to get (people taking the piss)
