cos that would be pretty awesome and fun too...
I read sometime ago that it would be hard to port it from the Touch HD, because it's for WVGA. But maybe it would be a good idea to request it with a bounty? Imo such focus is a great thing.

i just bought my girlfriend a new cell phone and her camera takes some awsome pics and it has a flash
i know that the t mobile mda has a flash but its always on so it sucks and the pictures come out pix elated n blurry so i was wondering if their is a way to fix that? mayb a 3rd party camera program id really appreciate the help!
CoolCamera is an app that can increase quality a little bit.
And there are some registry tweaks but I never saw any difference when applying them.
Actually the MDA's camera is that bad. That's one of the reasons for which I'm getting the HTC Touch Cruise now.
This questoin is for the folks who already have the Touch HD in hand. I have seen a bunch of YouTube VDOs and read a zillion reviews. But I am still not clear on how the camera works on this device.
I currently have a HTC polaris using a Cooked ROM. The camera sucked bigtime wih the stock ROM. But I have to confess, even with the Cooked ROM, its really not that great, especially in the night time with the home lighting... Unless my hands are really steady, the picture gets blurry and there is atleast a sec delay between when I click the picture and from when it is captured. I guess its the auto focus.
Having said that, how is the camera on Touch HD. I know it has a 5MP autofocus... but I want to know the reality of it in a practial sceaniro. I have a 10 month old kid and I love to capture some moments by pulling out this device and click some pics and mail them to my friends and family. Since he is never steady at one place, I could never capture a good pic with Polaris.
My wife has a iPhone 2G and it captures really good instant pictures even in the home lighting at night.

Im currently running a touch Hd (blackstone) Now i want to update it to the HD2 leo
the info i need is did Htc update the camara in this phone.. as the current Hd (blackstone lense) quality is just dreadful and also lags in video mode.. !!
The camera isn't great. I reckon it's actually a little worse than on my Touch Pro. The flash is brighter and more useful in low light situations.....

I had a hd and the camera in the hd2 is 100 times better.there's a flash for starters, the camera is a lot quicker and much less lag in camcorder mode. I never used the camera in my hd because it was dreadful but have really enjoyed using it in the hd2
p.s. I have the Telstra version...not sure if that makes a difference anymore
Can't comment on the HD camera, as i have never used one.
I had the Tytn II before and the camera on the HD2 is a thousand times better.
I actually think it takes pretty damn good pictures for a phone.
It's the first phone that i am actually really using the camera.
Though I can't compare to the HD1, I have to agree that the camera on the HD2 is certainly usable from the playing around I've had it - more so in fact. The touch auto focus works well, flash is bright, it's very very fast (Jesus, taking pics on my Hermes whilst running other stuff...) and produces decent looking results.
Check the camera tweaking thread here at xda, where someone's found how to up the resolution further via some registry tweaks. There are lots of example pics in there for you to compare to what you'd get on your previous devices.
Tested WM7 on HD 2. It works very good and fast, but it is a pity that one of the basic functions , the camera does not work.
The camera does not focus at all, so all pictures are unsharp.
