I have G1 build number CRB43.
I have followed the instructions in this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442480
The SD card is formatted to FAT32.
I copied the dreamimg file on the SD card.
I got the phone to bootloader mode.
The phone says that there are no bootable files to be found...
What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I really want to try one of the custom ROMS...

Hi,
I am currently experiencing a problem rooting my T-Mobile G1.
I also have G1 build number CRB43.
I formatted the SD card to FAT32 on an XP machine.
I copied the DREAIMG.NBH file on the SD card.
I got the phone to bootloader mode.
The following happens:

Any ideas on what I am missing or need to do?
Thanks

Try renaming it "DREAIMG.nbh" exactly. I heard that it is very sensitive to the file name being exact. (Including case sensitive)
I think Timo Beil has blacklisted the NBH.
You have to create a goldcard.

Hi,
I really struggling with the goldcard process.
I think the image file(s) I'm getting from QMAT are not correct.
I've tried the process twice with two different SD cards.
The SD cards are not recoqised once I add the image to the SD car.
Can somone check the attached files. The text file is the serial numbers for the two cards, and the zip file contains the image files I received.
You'll notice in a hexeditor that the image files contain lots of zeros in the first few blocks where I expected there to be data
Could a few people upload a working goldcard.img files so I can check the hex against mine?
I made some further progress by only transfering some of the hex over (the later part) to the SD card- at least this allowed the bootloader to recoqnise the SD card and try to load the nbh file.
HELP!
Did you formated you card with FAT32?
I had the same issue with an unbranded card, but after I chaed it with a "normal" one evrything went well.

The one I was sent has a lot of 0s at the beginning and breaks the filesystem, but it didn't stop me from flashing the 1.61 update (via USB), and I'm pretty sure my device is vendor-locked. I'm not 100% sure it helped me either, but I'm not flashing again to test until something interesting comes out.
Once you've loaded the goldcard.img (which breaks the file system).
What exactly do you do to download the latest firmware.
When I activesync with the PC, and try and run the RUU_Leo....exe file it fails during install.
Can anyone explain how a goldcard actually works. What's on the goldcard that makes the phone take ROMS not meant for the device?

Get in the bootloader on the phone with it plugged in via USB and just run the RUU from the PC. Simples.
In what way does it fail?
When I get to the bootloader and try to run the RUU I eventually get an ERROR 262.
I'm still stuck
yeah is really enoying to do an update like that, wish they do normal one wwe and not this goldcard thingy, just wait mate for official update dont waste you time in this couse everyday there is a new updates on htc.com

You need to change the initial 2 characters of the SD Card ID to '00' before requesting the goldcard.img, as explained in the tutorial.

Please use the existing Gold Card Sticky thread for problems.

I have to send away my phone for repair (USB port is dying) and i was hoping to restore everything to stock just to make sure there are no problems when they take a look at it.
I'm running 'Duttys Leo Multi-Lang V1.1' ROM but i installed this way back in January and to be honest i can't even remember how i went about doing it in the first place.
If anybody could tell me where to start i'd be really grateful.

download official stock ROM from your carrier site, or HTC site, and install it by clicking on .exe file
Will that remove the HSPL too ?

If you flash it via sd card. Right click on the exe stock rom file downloaded and select Extract here. Then copy to .nbh file to the root of your sd card. Ensure it is named leoimg.nbh and then flash from the card.
you can use HSPL to change it to 1.42.0000 SPL. there is an option there

Only if using HSPL2. As he installed the rom in January, HSPL2 was not yet out, so I'm assuming he used HSPL1
The SPL is indeed 1.42.0000, im just downloading a ROM now and i'll report back in a second
I had HSPL on my phone and used HSPL2 to remove it - works fine
Ok so i copied the .nbh to the SD Card, renamed it and restarted the phone while holding down the volume button but it just took me to the Bootloader screen.
Do i have to do anything specific to get it to install ?

When the phone boots into bootloader it should identify the leoimg file on the sd card and allow you the option to flash by pressing the power button. Did you copy the file to the root of the storage card, ie not to any sud-folder? If so then it could be that you may need to try another sd card as not all cards work with this. The 2gb cards are said to be best.
You can also try to just run the .exe normally from the pc to flash the rom and then use hspl2 to change your spl back as suggested by EddyOS.
Yeah, I didn't think it wouldn't work - just put my stock 1.66 ROM back on and then changed the SPL back using HSPL2 - job a goodun!!
Anyone wanna buy an HD2?
Thanks for the advice guys, i'm off to work now but i'll have a look at it when i get home.

Not true , only the .nbh file
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the LEO Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
4. Copy the LEOIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Reset the device while pressing the volume down button to enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.

I followed all the steps to get my wife's HD2 to run Android, it ran fine but she changed her mine. I loaded 2.10.0 back to the phone and the phone was freezing like crazy. I did a hard reset on the phone, that stopped the freezing for a few days, but it stills freezes up again and it can only be resolved by doing a battery pull.
She was thinking about calling T-Mobile but I know flashing it has voided the warranty. Can someone please help me get this phone back on track.
had the same freezing issue before but only when im running 2.10. after i flashed 2.13 stock t-mo everything runs fine now. but i don't use android tho....
Flash the 2.13 rom using the sd-card method and ur done.
just curious, what is the difference between flashing through sd-card and through the pc?
If you have installed hspl, custom bootscreen, radio... this way it will be all stock.

You can only flash from SD by placing the extracted .NBH file from the ROM.exe in the ROOT of your storage card and renaming it to LEOIMG.nbh. Sd has to be formatted to FAT32
Then go into bootloader and fallow the steps on the device.

Hi all,
Recently got my Nook Simple Touch, upgrade to firmware version 1.2.1
I tried rooting following the described steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2040351
but after inserting the SD my device doesn't power on anymore
I tried anything, and even tried nook manager ver.0.4.0 tested under win (win32diskimager, DiskImage, Roadkil's Disk Image) and under linux ( dd ),
the image is copied without problems, I tried several different cards, but has no effect
If I put the card while the device is running, I can see the files but when I reboot I can not boot
After this failure I decided to try this:

but again the same problem, I reboot I can not boot

For example with WinImage
With your MicroSD card now clean, open up WinImage and select ‘Disk’ -> ‘Restore Virtual Disk Image on Physical Drive…’ and select the drive letter associated with the MicroSD card and hit ‘OK’. Now locate the the folder were you extracted .img file and select the file. If you do not see it, make sure file type is set to ‘All files’. Confirm and the .img file will be written to the card.
And I try the same with win32diskimager, DiskImage, Roadkil's Disk Image) and under linux ( dd )
I use Win32 Disk Imager and have never had any issues. You are selecting a .img file to write, correct?
Are you sure your SD card is ..
1) big enough for the image you are trying to write to it?
2) not corrupted in some way?
Perhaps attempt a full format of the card (uncheck "Quick Format") before attempting to write the image again.

It seems from the thread that you have tried several different images, is this correct? If not, perhaps the problem is that the .img file you have is corrupt. Perhaps attempt to re-download one or all of the image files.
