I have to send away my phone for repair (USB port is dying) and i was hoping to restore everything to stock just to make sure there are no problems when they take a look at it.
I'm running 'Duttys Leo Multi-Lang V1.1' ROM but i installed this way back in January and to be honest i can't even remember how i went about doing it in the first place.
If anybody could tell me where to start i'd be really grateful.

download official stock ROM from your carrier site, or HTC site, and install it by clicking on .exe file
Will that remove the HSPL too ?

If you flash it via sd card. Right click on the exe stock rom file downloaded and select Extract here. Then copy to .nbh file to the root of your sd card. Ensure it is named leoimg.nbh and then flash from the card.
you can use HSPL to change it to 1.42.0000 SPL. there is an option there

Only if using HSPL2. As he installed the rom in January, HSPL2 was not yet out, so I'm assuming he used HSPL1
The SPL is indeed 1.42.0000, im just downloading a ROM now and i'll report back in a second
I had HSPL on my phone and used HSPL2 to remove it - works fine
Ok so i copied the .nbh to the SD Card, renamed it and restarted the phone while holding down the volume button but it just took me to the Bootloader screen.
Do i have to do anything specific to get it to install ?

Did you format the sd-card in FAT32?
It should ask you to press power button or something to flash if everything is right

When the phone boots into bootloader it should identify the leoimg file on the sd card and allow you the option to flash by pressing the power button. Did you copy the file to the root of the storage card, ie not to any sud-folder? If so then it could be that you may need to try another sd card as not all cards work with this. The 2gb cards are said to be best.
You can also try to just run the .exe normally from the pc to flash the rom and then use hspl2 to change your spl back as suggested by EddyOS.
Yeah, I didn't think it wouldn't work - just put my stock 1.66 ROM back on and then changed the SPL back using HSPL2 - job a goodun!!
Anyone wanna buy an HD2?
Thanks for the advice guys, i'm off to work now but i'll have a look at it when i get home.

Not true , only the .nbh file
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the LEO Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
4. Copy the LEOIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Reset the device while pressing the volume down button to enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.

a) Put a stock rom onto your sd card and name it "leoimg.nbh"
b) Put phone in bootloader (hold down volume button, then press power button and wait for instructions)
Or just flash a stock rom via active sync. There is many many guides on forum to do this.
Its very easy. Format your sd card using a digital camera, download a stockrom meant for your device meaning the stockrom with the native language of the phone. Unpack the stockrom and change the .nbh data into leoimg.nbh.
Format you sd card in your computer into fat32 and copy the leoimg.nbh data into it. Put the sd card into your phone and go into bootloader, then follow the instructions on your phone's screen. That should do the job.
Im sending my phone back to htc so I flashed back a standard rom. I thought this would remove hspl but it didnt now Im ****ting my pants. How do i get it off?
Did you flash stock rom via sd card? That is the only way that flashing a stock rom removes hspl. Otherwise the much simpler method is to rerun HSPL2 and select your original spl (ending in 0000) - assuming you can remember which spl you were on.

Find nbh file of the rom you want, copy to root of sd card and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh, boot into bootloader and follow instructions. If it doesn't pick up the image, try reformatting sd card (preferably a small one ie 2gb) to FAT32 and retry.
Ive renamed the the file but bootloader does nothing, i only have a 16gb sd. I also put the whole rom on the card and selected it using file explorer and now the windows colour dots are just going around in a circle.
Did you copy just the .nbh file from the rom to your sd card and rename that and not the entire exe file? You also won't be able to flash via file explorer.
Seriously though if you can't flash via sd card (bigger sd cards don't alsways work - although my 16gb card does) just do the second and much easier option I gave you above, ie flash the rom via exe as you have done and then run HSPL2 and select your stock spl.
I cant do that cos now windows 7 wont install the bloody drivers lol. Im FUBAR'd
Be careful in your rom selection. This should ALWAYS be stressed when telling people how to do this. It's not simply a case of getting the one you want. You should always try to get the original rom your phone came with, or at a minimum one that the htc site recommends when you enter your country and phone serial. Flashing a bad rom via sd is pretty much the only way to brick your phone. This should not be forgotten or taken for granted.
That said, download the correct rom, rename to leoimg.nbh, stick it on the root of your sd card. Power off phone, insert sd card, hold volume down, press power.
(yeah I know clyde just typed the instructions, I just like them explained this way).

Good point m8, I assumed that as he had already flashed the rom via exe that he had the right one. (I know that's a dangerous assumption given the level of some of the users on this site as some shouldn't be authorised to use anything more technical than a tv remote - no offence elgrego4 ). Noted and I will include that important statement in future advice given
I've just seen from your signatrure elgrego4 that your rom is listed as LEO70 (ie WP7). Did you reformat your sd card after using WP7?

Turn the phone off..Then turn it on while holding volume down. This will take you to the bootloader menu( rainbow color). Plug the phone unto your PC then flash the original ROM that you downloaded from HTC site.No need to sync..Hope this will help.
Hey man if you want to remove HSPL you can just run the HSPL program from your pc with your phone connected in bootloader. It's the same procedure as installing HSPL, but now you must select SPL 2.08.000 instead of HSPL 2.08 while running the program.
I did it this way while I had to send my phone back and had no problems with it =)
You can check your SPL version in Bootloader.
yes it was fat 32, ive borrowed a 2gig so i will try that next
Its flashing with the 2gb card so fingers and everything else crossed
Keep us posted pls. I'm thinking also to bring back because of pixel error on the screen.

Was 3.03 your original spl? If so I guess you do know it's a mission to get back to flash hspl once you get your phone back. You will first have to downgrade your rom to get to a lower version spl and then run hspl.
I'm looking to put android on my HD2 but I got a simple question.
If I install a NAND Android on my phone and I don't like it or encounter some problems can I get windows back with a hard reset or does that option get lost when I put Android on?
I got the tip to "You simply put the stock rom you want on your SD card, rename it to leoimg.nbh and then go into bootloader by holding Volume down while powering on."
I have tried to find info about this, can anyone point me in the direction where there is a guide/tutorial on how to do this it it would be very appreciated.
Thanks for your help!
No, a hard reset won't do the trick, you will need to reflash a winmo rom to get it back, as installing a NAND rom (even magldr) removes winmo.
You can find info here
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
NOTE (PLEASE READ): If you flash a Stock Rom via microSD Card then it will overwrite your HardSPL with a stock SPL included in the nbh file. This does not apply to custom roms as they do not include an SPL. BE CAREFUL!!

All you need to do is..
a) Power off phone
b) Hold Volume down button
c) Press (do not hold) power button
d) Once Tri color boot screen is up, plug in USB cable.
e) Flash stock ROM from HTC site.
DONE!

Make sure you use HSPL 4 to revert your HSPL back to 3.03.0000 SPL before sending it back in. If yocflash the most recent T-Mobile update ROM the 3.14 ROM you need to reflash it via SD card as it has SPL 3.10.0000 and HSPL 4 does not have that SPL version in it. Bit flashing via SD card will give you this SPL version if you flash the ROM I am speaking of.
To flash via SD card right click on the ROM and select rename and rename it to a .zip file and hit enter. Then right click the file again and select view, find the RUU_signed.nbh file and copy it to the root of your SD card. Don't forget to go back and rename the original file .exe again so you can use it later if you need it again. After you have copied the RUU_signed.nbh to your SD card use your File Explorer to find the file and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh. Next turn your HD2 off and hold the volume down button down while you power your HD2 back on and as soon as you see bootloader and searching on the screen let the volume down button go and follow the on screen instructions.
This will have you 100% good to go for a warranty exchange or repair.
Hmm, So you want me to take the stock Ruu File that i downloaded from t-mobile and rename that to leo.img....the HSPL on there is currently it shows -2.08.HSPL
in the triloader screen? I am still confused on what to do exactly... i already reformatted the phone with the stock Ruu. And thats what the HSPL is that shows on the Tri Color boot screen of the phone.

Yes you need to revert the HSPL back to SPL. HSPL is a custom SPL and you do not want this on your HD2xif youcare sending it in for warranty replacement or warranty repair. The twocways of reverting it is to flash the official ROM via SD card or use the HSPL 4 utility to revert it cause you can flash SPL as well as HSPL with it. But I recommend you use the SD card flash as the SPL with the current T-Mobile upgrade ROM is 3.10.0000 and HSPL 4 does not have this SPL.cGocto the below link if you are still confused about flashing via SD card, it will explain all.

the exe file is just an archieve that with in that is the .nbh file.along with the radio and the update software.. you just need to extract it using winrar or prob changing the extension from .exe to .zip... once extracted the file.with the .nbh extention is the rom.. the bootloader will only recognize .nbh... so just change the .nbh file name to leoimg and move it to the root of the sdcard and once in bootloader mode it will detect the file and flash it and remove the hspl
Ok, So i put the leoimg.nbh in the sd card booted to the Tri loader and its just stuck on that screen... its not currently connected to the computer... it says serial on the white part of the screen... How do we get it going... or start the process?

? make sure the .nbh file you renamed was the rom (largest one) and that you didnt just rename it to leoimg.nbh.nbh because thats a common mistake and try naming it LEOIMG capital letter... but thw bootloader should load up the file without any input from you
Also make sure it is on the root of your SD card.
How do we get it on the root... i just copied and pasted it to the micro sd card... and its all in caps! Also it doesnt just start up

Yhe root of your SD card means it iscjust on the SD card and not in a file. So when you view your SD card you should be able to see it with out having to open a file.
oK, So, i renamed that RUu file which i made a mistake in putting it in .zip and re extracting it because i had found another Leoimg.nbh file that i tried using so, I reformatted the sd card to fat32 and but the one i found of the Ruu file.... and renamed it the "LEOIMG.nbh" and re did it... And now it picked it up its installing Radio V2 Rcust bootloader splash 1 os config data...so we shall see what happens...!
Ok, it said Update Success... Does that mean i am done after that or do i have to do anything else?!
I tried to install a new rom via my SD card and it refused to boot, it simply stayed at the HTC logo. So now, I have no working OS on my phone. I tryed to go back to stock Winmo 6.5, following all instructions, but my bootloader won't load the .nbh file, it simply stays idle at the Tri color screen. I've tried switching SD cards, installing other ROMS via SD to no avail. Also tried the HSPL 4 method to get back to stock, but I have no working windows OS on the phone, so I cannot synch with WMDC. I've tried everything.
I would like to keep working with android on my phone, but if i have to start from scratch then that would be fine also. Can anyone help me? I have no other phone ATM.
Specs:
MAGDLR 1.13, CWM 3.0.0.5, SPL 2.08 HSPL, Radio 2.15.50
Can anyone please help!?????????????? I really need to get my phone up and running :[
No need for wmdc sync.
Phone into bootloader, connect USB, flash rom.
Thats what I'm saying, the bootloader should automatically detect the Ship rom when turned on to the tri color screen, but it doesnt, nothing happened. I downloaded the ROM straight from T-Moblie
I didn't say flash from SD.
What I said was you don't need a booted rom to use USB flashing,,, no need for wmdc.
Phone into bootloader, connect USB, count to 5, on the PC run the flash. Hspl.exe also can be run like this.
As to why the leoimg.nbh doesn't start, its usually one of two reasons..
1 the SD card should be 4gb or smaller, and
2 people sometimes don't extract ruu_signed.nbh, they just rename the rom.exe.

When you say "run the flash" do you mean run the RUU_signed exe file? Also, I followed the instructions to get back to stock to a T, even swapped out my 16gb card for a 2gb with the same image and tried it. Should i just give up on flashing it via SD?

just to confirm you should be unzipping the .exe file, extracting the ruu_signed.nbh file, renaming that file to leoimg.nbh and using that on the sd card?
You don't rename the whole .exe
