I read somewhere recently the battery life of an iPhone 3G (not the new one being release next few weeks) describes as follows:
The 3G got 6hrs on Wi-Fi, 7hrs on Video, 24hrs on Audio, 10hrs on 2G talk and 5hrs on 3G talk.
Anyone seen any similar stats for the G1?

Thank you for the immensely useful post.
I did try searching, but found nothing that had similar parameters to compare against.
Battery Rechargeable Lithium-ion battery
Capacity: 1150 mAh
Talk time:
*
Up to 350 minutes for WCDMA
*
Up to 406 minutes for GSM
Standby time:
*
Up to 402 hours for WCDMA
*
Up to 319 hours for GSM
(The above are subject to network and phone usage.)
This might not be exactly what you are looking for, but interesting none the less.

good day all
any idea if we can fit the 1400mah battery of Nexus One on our htc HD2 ? does both batteries have same physical size ?
can anyone confirm ?
I doubt it, but it's not just size thats the problem. You need to look at the specs for each one; see what voltage and ampage each one puts out. The Nexus One battery could very well fry the HD2's components, or fail to power them.
Hmmmm
I was thinking the same thing when is saw this

You still get alot more out of the HD2 (taken from gsmarena.com)
HD2
Standard battery, Li-Ion 1230 mAh
Stand-by Up to 490 h (2G) / Up to 390 h (3G)
Talk time Up to 6 h 20 min (2G) / Up to 5 h 40 min (3G)
GN1
Standard battery, Li-Ion 1400 mAh
Stand-by Up to 290 h (2G) / Up to 250 h (3G)
Talk time Up to 10 hours (2G) / Up to 7 hours (3G)
come to think of it talk time is crap on the HD2

I think someone was being VERY over optimistic when they wrote the specs for the HD2 battery
Standby 490 hours? over 20 days???...yeah right!!!
I went away recently, and as a test turned flight mode on (no signal at all), charged battery to 100% and left it...result..flat battery in 8 days...with nothing being used. so I can't see how 20 days standby would EVER be available

isnt there some kind of advertising law??

Very brave of you that you wanted to do this test and accept the fact that you would not be able to use your HD2 for 8 days
I can't live without mine for a single day !!

no, you see that the edge to remove the battery is on the wrong side.

I had never ever believed battery figures because they never tell the truth, thats why I want to know if the battery physically fits so that I test it by my self and see if its better than hd2 battery
The battery in from the nexus has a different aspect ratio to the hd2 battery. Not a chance of it fitting.

are you really sure about this ?
from the picture of Nexus one battery, it seems more like hd2 battery. thats why there is a chance that it will fits
Look at the tabs/indents on the bottom of the battery and compare it to the HD2. Different shape and different fitting. Forget this idea, the N1 battery is not gonna fit in an HD2.
as i too was once asking quesstions about battery dying on my phone, i just wanted the new people to know that the main problem might be the screen draining it! im sure all you new users spend hours exploring it as i have and wondered what in the hell was installed that is making my battery drain. before going crazy and installing apps to try to fix this please read here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=678205
then go here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=675136
and go to sleep for like 12 hours fully charged. the battery when you check it about 12 hours later should be better then 90%. if i start using the phone making the screen stay on the battery drains right away. but thats the price we pay for having such a clear looking display! also, from what i gathered from the specs of the battery and googles tech spec on the phone, the battery will also drain faster if you use the carriers network vs switching between wifi and carrier network. here is the battery specs from google...
- Talk time: Up to 10 hours on 2G, Up to 7 hours on 3G
- Standby time: Up to 290 hours on 2G, Up to 250 hours on 3G
- Internet use: Up to 5 hours on 3G, Up to 6.5 hours on Wi-Fi
well i decided to give my phone a break and left it on minimum usage for almost 4 days now, other than some calls here and there, a bout of angry birds and checking mail via gprs and wifi.
after 4 days battery level is at 51%, (using battery indicator pro) and this is quite impressive considering my minimum usage and now am wondering how long it will go. 8days? maybe?
this is on stock JPY...no root or lag fixes.
Interesting,
Battery Standard battery, Li-Ion 1500 mAh
Stand-by Up to 750 h (2G) / Up to 576 h (3G)
Talk time Up to 13 h 30 min (2G) / Up to 6 h 30 min (3G)
thats the offical line in the specs

Hehe, I didn't do reallife tests, but assume without usage you can make over 20 days I used to have my phone on standby for about 30h, data, wifi off, 2G only, and lost 4%, that extrapolates to about 30days on standby?
Swyped from another GALAXY
I had my ideos for nearly a year now (since they came out pretty much.. and XDA u8800 forum was brand spanking new.. anyways today I was comparing it with some more high end devices etc.. and I noticed this on GSM Arena it says
Battery Standard battery, Li-Po 1500 mAh
Stand-by Up to 380 h (2G) / Up to 440 h (3G)
Talk time Up to 8 h 20 min (2G) / Up to 6 h 40 min (3G)
Aside from the fact that those figures.. ARE A JOKE.. what is more funny and more of a joke is.. that it says in 2G the battery will last 380 hours and in 3G it will last for 440 hours.. That is 60 more hours.. but in Android settings, as far as I know.. it says 2G SAVES BATTERY! (and to my understanding.. it makes sense)
Just a funny fact I noticed.. thought I would share.
lol i noticed that, and shared it on facebook as soon as i got my X5 )
it was funny and shocking )
Lol...but why not? You know... it's Huawei
But huawei is great dude!
Yes, especially their aftersale support. Now I mean still beta version upgrade to 2.3 on IDEOS X5 Comic.
Yeah.. they instead concentrate on new products only.. no aftersales.. but hey, if you hang around xda and install custom roms etc.. you can have a pretty great device.. for cheap.
It's also like that on a lot of HTC smartphones. 3G standby is good, but then you need ideal signal and not enable data.
Otherwise it's better to use 2G.
So it's possible...
Are those data official?
I've heard about those data are tested in lab environment, not in daily usage environment.
My longest daily usage time is 4 days and 4.5 hours (100 hours), in those days
- turn Power Saving Mode on
- use 2G only
- phone calls for about 1 hour
- turn WiFi on for a while to surf web, play tiny games
Not sure if they are official or not.. but on the official website there are no such figures:

@lovetide: What ROM is that?
I only use official ROM, rooted, and remove some applications.
The screenshot was taken at 2012-01-30, ROM version should be B522.
Recently I have purchased the device.
Despite the fact it has 2300 mAh Battery.
On Normal usage the Battery Lasts quite long. (check SS.
No heating issue.
Excellent camera
Smooth UI (Nougat 7.0)
Sound output is a bit low.
Solid design gives a premium feel
Finally Brand name Sony is enough to tell rest of the story.:good:

:highfive: the battery very impressive. i also have one
36 hours and my battery went from 80% to 20% .
I am impressed with the battery.
High battery consumption on 2G voice calls......is it okay?
High battery consumption on 2G voice calls......
The battery consumption on voice calls is higher than on Screen usage. It's around 4.2 mAh/Min. I think it's unusual because I have checked in my friend's mobile and it was 35 mAh for 20 Mins calling.
My network mode is 'GSM Only'.
Can someone post their battery usage for voice calls.
Please so that I can verify it with mine... Thanks
Loving the battery life on this phone, Much better than the battery I got form my old Z5.
I usually get around 6hrs SOT each day. (on my Z5 it would be around 3.5 hrs SOT)

Battery consumptions on 2G Voice calls is very much dependent on your signal strength. If it is bad then it can easy consume more than the screen. The reported talk time for XA1 is about 11 h 30 min which would give 3.3 mA/min but that might be under better signal conditions than your call.
(I don't have any XA1 myself so I cannot do any testing of the battery.)

Thanks for your opinion. Yes I understand that but signal strength in my area varies somewhere in between - 65 dbm to - 82 dbm. I think it's fair enough.
But I'm facing that much of battery drain on Nought 7.0, previously I had Xperia Z3 and on same locations the bettery drain on Marshmallow 6.0.1 was far less then this. I have tested Xa1 with single sim and results were same.
That's why I was asking someone to share his battery stats to compare with mine to verify if there is something wrong with my unit....
