Hello,
i got a small problem with some custom roms which use:
"Large Titlebar" or "Notification Enhance" together with that htc's fingerfriendy "Volume Control", i don't know how it's reproduced but it heappened to me with wwe and ger custom roms (i'm currently on a ger rom). When i press the volume keys the inbox opens instead of the volume control, also the taskbar does not respond to any touch (when one of the upper mentioned apps are running). After a softreset everything is fine again. I think that a service crashed or something?
Someone have a clue what heappened? Or if this was asked already plz post a link i didn't find anything.
Thanks

Sorry if this isn't posted in the correct forum, but I've done a lot of searching & not found anything yet. My Hermes (Black Satin ROM) will, without me doing anything, change the volume setting to "vibrate" from "on." It's annoying, obviously, because I'll then miss calls because I don't hear it "ringing" in the other room.
Is this a "power saving" setting? Has anyone else experienced this? Can I stop it from happening somehow?
Are you using the "HTC Home" today plugin?? I seem to remember that some/one of the earlier versions would swap the phone from ring to vibrate "without you doing anything".......it was later discovered that the change was as a result of you going into the calendar and adding/removing appointments.
There is a post in the Hermes and Trinity forums that links to V2.0 of the HTC Home plugin and I think the vibrate issue has been fixed...
Search the Hermes Mobile 6 forum for the post.
HTH,
Mark.
Perhaps, it's a problem with an automatic profile ? (spb phone suite,...)
I have noticed that when i put a long time on the comm manager button, the tytn switch on the vibrate profile ?
Thanks Mark. Yes, I'm using the HTC Home plugin. I'm not sure as to the version: it's whichever version JJ included in Black Satin. I'll look for the v2 links today.
guix: automatic profile?

This is "normal" behaviour - presumably you've installed (or a ROM has installed for you) the "CommManager Vibrate Toggle Fix" which does just that.....when you press and hold button 5 (CommManager button), the phone switches in and out of vibrate.

I think v1.5 made it into Satin - the V2.0 version was developed by Schaps - IIRC - and posted by Schen HERE if you want some serious reading material!!!
HTH,
Mark.
OK, I've depressed & held the comm mgr button for over five seconds, & the phone didn't switch over to vibrate, so that's not my issue.
Thanks for the linkage, Mark. I'll download the cabs & start reading those nine pages
OK, it looks like since I uninstalled version 1.5x of HTC Home, & installed version 2.0x, I haven't had the problem. Thanks for the help
Does anyone have a solution for The hardware rocker on devices such as the Wizard for Opal Volume Control ? Im so close to banging my head against the wall. Any advice/help would be appreciated
bump
Would also like to be able to assign volume control to a hardware key. Any takers on how this is done?
----------bump----------
Anyone? at all? please? *starts to cry*
Anyway, this would be great! It is the only thing missing from my kaiser using the Opal roms. Especially in audio manager where the only way to change the volume is by tapping the volume icon in the start bar. The scroll wheel does nothing at all!
So I would love to see someone take a try at this!
C'mon some help please 608 views not one reply. Is this something that can not be done? Is there not a way to make a shortcut to the volume control so you can launch it similar to S2U2-VC or Setvolume? Please any type of reply would be helpfull.
bump again
I was hoping for an answer to this too but in my quest to find this answer. I came up with a much simpler solution (for me anyway).
I love A_C's S2U2 application and several versions back, he implemented a volume control screen which looks JUST like HTC's except that both volume bars are on one page. (Myself, I think HTC ripped the idea from A_C but made it with 2 tabs so it looked different enough.) What I ended up doing was using that volume control module instead of HTC's since the S2U2 one CAN be bound to a hardware key since it's a shortcut that sits in your start menu.
all very true, i remember trying it right before the HTC version came out, and i found them quite similiar. The only thing is, I do not use s2u2 anymore and it would be nice to have it built into the stock opal manager as that is what comes up when you change volume in the audio manager and the system icon...
There is a way to create a shortcut that will call an IN MEMORY address, I just have no luck getting the correct address for the Volume Control
I use smartskey and the volume up/down key on my Wizard works in Opal Volume Control

Hi,
Boto has given a smartskey.ini file which enables opal volume control to work with volume slider.
I did not tested because wizard's volume slider is damaged. Can you test it. I have Attached the file below
Thanks
Hello,
I have installed a WM 6.5 Rom on my Xperia and now I want to install the HTC Long press end key feature that displays a quicklist.
I've already installed the .cab and configured it but when i press the end key the phone locks and doesn't display the quick list as expected.
Do i need to change something in the registry to make this happen?
Please let me know...
Thanks.
I second this request.
It very practical and important for me to be able to swith between vibrate and sound, the x1 doesn't have this option by default and even after installing the cab it does not work.
The only time that it worked fine was with smaberg's ROM.
Does anyone knows how to fix this?
Hi brothers..
I'm Andy, new chef @ the iPAQ 6828 division. I would like to have advices for some problems I've found on 23XXX builds.
1. WM6.5.x OK button problem
Some menus in the were dead ends. I've found few on these:
If I enter those menus, I can't tap the X button to exit or assign the menu from the screen.
I can easily fix this by assigning a hardware button (on 6828) as the OK button but, tapping with no response still a problem. Is there any fix for these.
I found the same problem with HTC Kaiser AhmedFikry ROM WM6.5.5 Build 23577. But Kaiser has an OK button on it...
2. Camera
On the new builds I can't run my camera. It says "Failed to initiate Camera", and than the camera closes itself. I suspect there's some files in the SYS that I shall edited before I add the camera drivers and OEM on the ROM. Is there any files or modules which shall be edited inside the SYS Packages?
3. SPB Keyboards
I can install SPB Keyboards, but I can't use it due to some errors in the option. Device got stuck everytime I enter the Keyboard option in the control panel. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I would be very grateful for any advices...
Hi
I installed/uninstalled "HTC X-Button.CAB", and after that the volume hardware keys on the left side of the HD2 only do scrolling up and down... I want that those keys act as volume up and down manager, like always did.
Anyone knows how to solve this? It's very annoying -.-u
I tried software like AEBPlus and similar, but didn't work.
I hope that this can be solved doing some changes in the registry.
Was the volume key the only problem after removal?
Was there some problem that caused you to remove it in the first place?
What version HD2, Rom, radio?
What happens when you long press the volume keys?
Give me a link to the cab you used. There seems to be several versions of that app.
Sorry I made a mistake, the problem was after try "Touch X longpress sendkey taskmanager showcase.cab" and no HTC X-Button
I removed it because it didn't work in my phone, but no other problem.
ROM 1.48.412.2 (71294) ESN
RADIO 2.05.51.05_2
When I long press the volume keys, the current selection goes down or up in the same way as if you press it several times.
This is the exact cab I used
Code:
Three w and then --> megaupload.com/?d=PR3PVJA9
Thanks for your attention
OK there are some people working on some things

I already had try that utility but it didn't work neither.
I think I'm gonna install/update the original ROM (or maybe try a cooked one).
Thanks for all!!
