Hi,
I have 2 questions:
1) How to use (to share) the internet connection (3G) established by my blackstone on my Laptop, using bluetooth? On the blackstone, the screen for internet sharing only appears when I connect the mobile to the laptop with an USB cable. At that time it's possible to chose the type of connection USB or bluetooth. My question: is there a way to get this screen (internet sharing) on the mobile without pluggin the USB cable in order to use directly the bluetooth connection?
2) In the same way I would like to use (to share) the 3G internet connection setup by my blackstone on my HTC Kaiser (WM6.0) also using bluetooth.
Is it possible? Someone could explain the procedure?
The reason to do that, is to use Skype. If I try to use Skype on my blackstone, it's refused by the Telecom Operator. When I use Skype on my laptop sharing an 3G internet connection, it's allowed... I suppose it would be allowed too if I run Skype on my Kaiser sharing the 3G connection of my blackstone...
I know that is possible to do it with WiFi. Bluetooth would be better...
Many thanks for your answers.
Franck
In the programs listing you should have a program called "internet sharing" which allows you to select USB or Bluetooth. I haven't used the bluetooth setting but it has a settings option so should be able to do what you want.
Yeah i just select Bluetooth rather than USB connection and press connect.
Pair your laptop to your phone first then press connect, then on your laptop, click the taskbar icon and click quick connect > Network Access and then select your phone.
Thank you all for your helpful answers. I succeeded to connect my blackstone to my laptop using bluetooth and sharing the 3G internet connection.
However, I didn't succeed to share the 3 G internet connection setup by my blackstone on my HTC Kaiser (see my point 2 in my previous post). I succeeded to establish a Bluetooth connection between them, but I never succeeded to share the connection. (The Kaiser runs on WM6.0).
Any idea?
Many thanks for your help.

thanks for the answer. One thing i don't know is how i can set the phones internet explorer to use the bt connection and not the gprs.
i already have a activesync connection to the pc via bt, internet connection is shared.
in activesync, connection setting: this computer is connected to: maike it connected to the internet. that usually does the trick.
if you use a WM5 defice it's probably the only thing you can do to go online via BT, if you use a wm2003, it's whole different story. you can use PAN profile on the PDA and on the PC. I personally prefer the later one.
system->connections->connections->advanged
changed from myISP to mynetwork
then it use bluetooth for internet
and
" if you use a wm2003, it's whole different story. you can use PAN profile on the PDA and on the PC. I personally prefer the later one."
is only valid if you dont have vidcomm bluetooth stack
hi
thank you for the good inputs, that was what i have searched for.
It was a bit curios for me, because the OS Language of my phone is german, but now it is working!
Hello.
I have a question if anybody can help me.
I have a laptop connected to the internet. This laptop has built-in Bluetooth device. I also have a HTC touch dual phone.
I'd like to know, is there any possibility as the phone to use the laptop's internet connection via Bluetooth? (I mean, the phone to be connected to the computer via Bluetooth and using the computer's internet connection)
Thank you and any help is appreciated.
You could use a bluetooth activsync connection. (while connected via Activesync you should beable to access the internet.)
Could you please explain how to do it? I tried several times but did not work at all...
check this guide here - worked for me
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=3163
Thank you. I will try today an seeif it is working for metoo... would be wonderful while Niki doesn't have WiFi...
I have a bluetooth activsync connection..when I use internet via bluetooth on my Touch Dual it works well, but after 10 minutes internet explorer says the connection is shut down, and i can't load web pages anymore.
But the connection with active sync is still up
It only works again if disconnect and connect again. Is this a Internet timeout or some..? Does someone know what to do about it.
Excuse me for my english
My problem is I dont even have internet connection when the device is connected to the PC via USB :-( Is there an option in activesync that you need to check to be able to do this?
Ok guys....I wanna use the GPRS on my phone for my SOny Vaio LAptop...I have done the hard part.......I have done a successful connection.....The modem is connected.....As in Vista it shows at the bottom connected to a local network....Then I run the connect 2 the internet wizard....I dont know the dial up number for the HTC Touch which will connect me to the internet....I guess there is a dailup no which connects to the active profile.....Can anyone help me find the number.....??.plzz help me guys..
If you are using Windows Mobile 6.1 you can use Internet Connection Sharing through bluetooth connection. The phone will act as a bluetooth access point for your PC (also working through USB). It will use your phone regular data connection and will not need the special data settings. On the touch it is activated either in Comm Manager - internet sharing or WM 6.1 connection settings internet connection sharing.
I've tried most of the solutions/methods on this forum/net, but it just doesn't work!
I'm able to pair the device, start the PAN service and 'Intetnet Sharing' gets connected as well, PC gets an IP address, but I get no response when I ping or open a webpage.
On the phone end, I've tried with WM5, WM6, WM6.1 and even with WMWi iRouter. On the PC end, tried with 3 different XP/2003/Vista machines. I'm using BlueSoleil 6.2, but had no success with older or later versions either.
Internet Sharing over USB worked fine till my USB connector broke so BlueTooth/WiFi is my only option.
Can soneone help me out please?
if you want to teeth your gprs connection so your pc get internet that way
PAN is not the way to go
search for bluetooth AND modem
in the forums there are many guides how
it's setup
PAN is if you want your pda to get internet from your pc
Thanks for the reply. I tried Bluetooth DUN but it's too slow (115kbps) and keeps getting disconnected every 5 mins...
If Bluetooth PAN is for sharing PC net only, why then does it show up under 'Internet Sharing', and also shows the Cellular net option, as if it can connect the both, like it does for USB? If PAN isn't meant for sharing cell net, it shouldn't show the option, right?
I mean, it's not *impossible* right? We have a TCP/IP network established with all IPs properly assigned; only one device has net access; how hard or improbable can it be to share the net? There has to be a way! :|
Infact, even the inbuilt Help on Internet Sharing describes that cell net can be shared w/ the PC over bluetooth using 'Internet Sharing' and says nothing about connecting as a modem and the whole *99# thing. I was of the opinion that 'Internet Sharing' made that method obsolete...
- Disconnect everything
- Open internet sharing, select Bluetooth PAN, connect. IS should tell you "waiting for bluetooth connection".
- On the PC, connect to the PAN service on the phone. This must work, I've used it countless times.
If traffic doesn't go through, you probably have a proxy set on your device (happens with some network operators) that you need to disable for it to work.
^ That's exactly how I've been trying .. maybe it's because of BlueSoleil?
Which bluetooth stack are you using? I've been searching the local stores for a non-bluesoleil adapter but no luck so far
I'm using the Widcomm stack that came with my BT keyboard/mouse set. I think you can download it for free anyway...

I can connect but no internet traffic on my laptop .I am using vodafone live gprs on xda orbit .Thanks
I've tried this across various roms, and i've contributed to topics on the same before, but i haven't found a resolution connecting to an internet connection shared over Bluetooth on the HD.
the issue lies with the HD, as i'm able to connect with my laptop to the WMWifirouter set up phone, and i've noticed on the HD that when trying to set up the BT connection via connection, there are no services available, and ultimately the BT connection isn't setup.
Any help that can be offered in this respect would be appreciated.
Hi DRTigerlilly,
I used wmwifirouter, what version are you using? I can confirm that 1.30 works correctly via bluetooth (the phone assigns an IP address to computer and then connects to internet).
I had problems with previous versions, test with 1.30 and tell us if it works for you.
EDIT: I test with official and dutty's rom without problems.
tried 1.30, more of the same. The problem lies in the fact that i'm trying to connect the HD to another WM Phone running WMwifirouter(an 8525- HTC Hermes).
The 8525 shares the connection fine, the issue is getting the HD to connect to the 8525 to share the internet connection via BT.
When i setup the BT connection btw the HD & the 8525, the 8525 shows a Dialup Networking service, the HD remains blank. When i go under connections to create a new connection, and select bluetooth, the HD again searches for the BT connection, finds the 8525, but is unable to find any services & at this juncture the 8525 is unable to be stored as a BT connection.
When i tried it earlier i was on the Hong Kong WWE 1.57 rom, but i've flashed back to Dutty's v3.
ok so if youre using the internet connection sharing app that comes with the hd you first add the devices to each others trusted lists, go to the internet connection sharing app on your hd, select bluetooth as connection type, then tap connect. then on your computer if its windows xp you should be able to go into your network connections tab and youll see a bluetooth network adapter from there you can connect as bluetooth PAN. depending on what type of bluetooth adapter your computer had it migh be accessible from the settings when you click on the bluetooth icon in your task bar. so remember to connect to the phone as PAN not DUN
i think i must not be explaining myself very clearly. I want to surf the internet on the HD, via a 3g connection on the 8525.
