Hi all. I have a bit of problem with PIMBackup.
Recently, I was using Stock ROM for my HD. I have PIMBackup install and backup everything before I moved on to Dutty's v3.4 ROM.
After successfully flashing my ROM, I restore back everything and at first, seems all normal since the restoration success. Just now, I find out that my Inbox didn't soft out properly. Say I'm person A and got another person B.
It will sort out all my sent message in one time, and the person B one time. How should I do now?
try to restore the sms only
not all
it should work

ok, i upgraded my xda2 as per the guide on here, i'm now running windows mobile second edition version 4.21.1088 (build 14132).
Rom version 2.02.t1WWE
Rom date 05/17/04
Radio version 1.18.00
Protocol Version 1337.38
ExtROM version 1.60.50
Everything *seems* fine apart from i cant send text messages!
I always get this error
"the phone is not ready.Wait 15 seconds and try again"#
tried soft resets, no joy
anybody?
Did you try a full hard reset? Can you make calls from the phone ok? Have you restored a previous backup to the phone?
Yeah, i've done a full hard reset after I completed the upgrade.
Have uploaded a backup ok, have my contacts restored, can make calls fine, receive texts, i can send mms's, just not SMS!
ok, i still have this problem if anyone can help.
I cant do another hard reset because it wont let me perform a backup now!
when using xbackup, It gets to 78% then stops, claiming "File sharing violation occured, \windows\activesync\gcounterfile.mmf"
I tell you, if this is the future of phones, it's not going to be a successful one for the manafacturers!
Hi
Have you tried it before restoring the backup as, in my experience, this is usually due to a corrupt backup
I dont want to do that as i'll lose a lot of data.
have you red this

HTH :?:
ok, i've managed to perform a full back-up, and then hard reset.
still to no avail.....
Had a similar problem myself after upgrading (wasn't able to recieve texts) and the problem was my backup program (Sprite Backup) was known to corrupt the SMS Inbox/Outbox. So I reckon your backup (or rather your restore) is the problem ....
Make sure the version of sprite you are using is the most recent.
On their version history you can see reference to the SMS inbox being a problem with a certain version of sprite.
I had this problem and it was cured by using the latest version
ok, i've just done a hard-reset. No restoring of my contacts etc.
It still doesnt work!
I'm guessing this is a ROM issue now?
I've got a stock XV6800 on Verizon that's suddenly developed a problem with text messaging. Basically it won't let me read or send text messages. I can see existing messages in the Inbox. But when I click on one of them and open it there's nothing shown. The To, Sent, Callback and body of the message is empty. Likewise when I hit reply (or try to compose a new message) the fields cannot be edited. What gives?
I've not loaded anything new on the phone for quite a while, nor have I tweaked any settings. I've made it a habit to load everything on a 2GB SD card anyway, but it fails to work even without the card being inserted. I've, of course, tried this after rebooting the phone (both by pressing the reset switch along with removing the battery, neither affected it).
I'd like to upgrade the ROM in it but would prefer to get this fixed before making matters possibly worse.
You either need to hard reset the phone, or update the rom.
A rom update wipes the phone and installs a brand new radio / OS. since what you have there is likely a software issue.. this will fix it.
I find DCD 3.2.5 way more stable than the stock rom.
If you update, PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS or you will be back here with major problems or a bricked phone.
If you follow the instructions.. it's hard to screw it up.
If you are unsure... Read the instructions, then make a list of what you PLAN to do and the order and method you'll use and either post it or PM me.. You should get an answer or feedback as to whether it's going to be the best way.
Hi guys, ive been using htc touch hd since a year now and never faced this issue. Suddenly from last week im unable to send text message or reply. ive search all over and tried every trick mentioned here but no avail. im using the shipped rom no modifications. everything was working just fiine. the weird thing is that my message are sent if i make a call to any one...all those msgs sitting in outbox are sent then. my SMSC is correct. Please help me.
P.S. Ive also tried using other cell phones like nokia, diamond 2 etc and text messages seem to work fine with them...
Please anyone help me...
hello!
sorry mate i dont think there's much you can do, other than a hard reset. sounds annoying i know, but many us who flash new roms are used to doing it every week!
One thing you could do before this is just to download the latest network settings.
On WM6.5 (should be similar on 6.1) go to:
Start >> Settings >> Connection Setup
Chose your operator and download the settings, then soft reset.
Otherwise, looks like a HR
(to perform a hard reset, power off your device. then hold down both vol up and vol down, and press the power button. brings up a screen of instructions that tells you to press vol up to reset).
I would strongly recommend you look at a custom ROM - you can get so much extra functionality over stock, even if you stick to a 6.1 (fastest) ROM
I had this problem a while ago, i just cleared all of my texts inbox/sent/drafts/deleted then hard reset and its been fine since. FeX
Thanks guys for ur support...ive already done hard resets twice but the prb still there...im afraid to use a cooked rom bcoz it sounds too complicated for me and then ive heard it gets bricked if i do sumthing wrong...
just one question can i hard reset my cell back to shipped rom if i dont like a cooked rom...?? i guess this wud be my last option now to switch to cooked roms but there are so many i cant decide which one will be better for me.
Thanks
Bump...........
its not difficult to flash a custom ROM - you just have to be read the instructions carefully, and take your time.
the instructions are in the wiki here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone
you can flash back to the stock ROM whenever you want to.
you could always see if there is an official update for your ROM first, and just try installing the latest stock if your device does not already have it.
Hi,
i got a brand new HTC HD2 last week and after 1 week of use, i'm a little bit disappointed. Several time i had crashes under facebook, or with photocamera.
therefore i would like to flash it as i did several times for my HTC TytN II.
however, before to flash it i would like to backup up : data, but also ROM and SPL in case of problem.
where can i find software for that and a step by step documentation ?
thx.
Well it depends what you want to back up if you want to back up everything I recommend spb backup http://spb.com/products/backup/
For things like contacts messages etc. I would use pimbackup http://www.dotfred.net/
for teh rom itself, you cant. (Well you can but you create a stock custom rom, not a real signed rom, plus it doesnt back up radio or spl) and besides, its a hundred and fifty eight million times easier to download your stock rom for use when you want to return to factory settings.
Hi,
i'm posting here cause i've less then 10 messages in the forum, is this the right place?
A couple of days ago i flashed the FroYo AOSP for Tattoo v0.333 by fyodor, and everything works fine except the sms sending.
Did a full wipe/factory reset, wiped cache and formatted system partition before flashing (0.33, then just updated to 0.333).
I've never been able to send an sms since the first day, it keeps saying "Sending..." but never sends it (receving is ok).
I tried to update the SMSC with the *#*#INFO#*#* thing, and googled a lot without success (apparently the problem happened to lots of people with froyo, google forums).
Handcent works fine, but i really don't want another app to send sms, i would prefer using the stock one.
Anyone also had this problem? Any idea about how to solve or debug the issue?
Also, just curiosity, does flashing another Froyo ROM require full wipe? I tried ginger, it's amazing but in my opinion "too heavy" for tattoo.
Thank you all in advance.
up.
any idea? anyone?
thank you.
