The time has come to relegate my trusty Hermes to the nearest bin. This means - upgrade time.
Now, unlike some of you, I do not have the luxury of trying out both of these to make up my mind. So, I'd like to hear some thoughts on those of you who has had to give up their Touch Pro keyboards for the more clumsy Touch HD on-screen text input.
Getting the Touch HD is a no brainer in every way, except one. I can't imagine giving up my sliding keyboard. Yes, I'm currently leaning towards getting the Touch Pro.
Thoughts? rants & raves? and shuttefu%^&up about iphones please.
As an owner of both I say get the HD. I loved my Raphael so dont get me wrong. I do a decent amount of typing and the HD keyboard seems very responsive. If you are doing a ton of typing there is really no substitute for a hard keyboard but the HD isnt far off. Out of the box the HD runs much better than the raphael did but there are plenty of custom ROMs out there that solve this for the raphael so not really an issue. One plus abotu the raphael is that there are tons of customizations but youc an expet that from the HD cookers out there in the coming weeks.
Again, i say get the HD. Its hard ot beat the screen on it and typing is actually pretty easy. I like the power button and volume buttons more on the HD as well. you dont accidently press them the way you will on the raphael. The other buttons on the HD are really nice as well because they do not actually press like the raphael does. It gives a little vibrate when you press them which is a suprisingly great feature. Oh yeah, don forget about the 5mp camera. It takes wonderful pics as long as you are in decent light.
Lastly, everyone that has seen my HD is blown away. When they saw my raphael they mostly said "thats nice, a little too think for me but nice"

WOW the most usefull review of all
thx again, and when my back account allow it , I might buy HD
I've still have my Touch Pro. I opted to buy the Touch HD for one big reason...Screen size bigger than the iPhone on a WM device! I'm tired of dealing with the limited space of a 2.8" screen. I've always been a fan of hardware keyboards, but the Touch HD has a nice virtual keyboard and with a program like gyrator 2 or gsen you can rotate your HD into landscape and stretch out the virtual keyboard for more room.
Also the GPS performance is better on the Touch HD.....the Touch Pro and Diamonds performance is crappy..its lags way too much and takes longer to get a fix. Now the AT&T Fuze may have this solved, but unless you have AT&T and live in the US its not really an option.
I think for any one who has been lusting over the idea of having an iPhone, but would never give up Windows Mobile can now rest at ease.
Just my two cents.
I have also used both, and I can say , on any given day , I would take HD.
HD screen is the best thing and the keyboard is also very good on it.Once , the custom roms comes from the likes of senior people like Dutty , Panosha and others, I am sure the HD will fly like a rocket.
Go for HD. I sold my rapheal already.

Now that you have the HD could you compare the GPS performance with Touch Pro?
Give us numbers.... How many seconds to get a fix and the GPS "lag".

Thank you, all of us will be awaiting for it.
Best regards.
In the last 3 months, I have owned a Diamond, Raphael and an HD. The Diamond came first and was lovely to use but the screen was too small to type effectively. So I bought a Raphael - which i used for work but it was just too thick - it ruins the cut of a suit!
Then along came the HD. The screen is just beautiful. Crucially, it is also large enough to type effectively. Don't get me wrong, it is not as effective as typing on a keyboard (such as on the Raphael) but unless you're doing a lot of typing, that doesn't matter. I still do a reasonable amount of email and the screen keyboard on the HD is large enough to cope.
The HD also runs more responsively than the Diamond or Raph. It doesn't suffer the Raph's GPS lag (I never had lag on the Diamond). And did I mention that screen???!!!
Disappointments with the HD? Not many yet. The camera is unquestionably way too slow and nowhere near as good as, eg, the N95 (which my wife has). The lack of D-Pad takes a bit of getting used to but all it really means is getting used to a different way of working as we're all so used to the DPad. I haven't yet found any software where it causes a major problem.
My final answer? Both my Raph and my Diamond are on ebay right now.
dito
yeah, my tilt and fuze have both sold on Ebay, I like my Touch HD. I am looking forward to using a different onscreen keyboard than the one provided in the stock ROM. I don't like that they wasted space by putting directional buttons on the right hand side. There is one available on a particular ROM downloaded from this site, but i suspect there will be more WVGA keyboards. I used to have a 6600 which had like a 3" screen or something, a wee bit larger than the tilt and that was a really nice phone actually, it just lacked the new juicier hardware. The Touch HD really brings out the sexy in HTC. No overweight short, fat, ugly phone, its tall and sleek and slim and sexy, lol! Just another thought: The Touch Pro can be had for about $500 without a contract and even FREE with a contract if you pull the right strings! However, the Touch HD is nearly $800 and there is no ifs ands or buts about it. You gotta pay for the best and its not really supported by AT&T or the retailers that sell it here in the US and is only barely supported by HTC in US. And, the insurance companies dont know much about it. All this makes for a riskier investment especially considering that some peoples HD vibrate breaks and they have to send it back . (moment of silence please). Yeah its a little scary for me right now. I think I might have it under control! If I were you and I had wee bit of money, I would go for the HD, its what the really cool people have, lol
Just a few thoughts,
Levi
I had a very cherished Tytn II (kaiser) before the recent HD.
I was really excited about the huge screen and higher resolution but the lack of a hard keyboard really put me off. Another huge aspect that put me off was the fract that straight out of the box you cant rotate to landscape mode. I've had my tytn ii in landscape mode permenantly for ever a year now and thats how I like it. The optical layout is very similar to wide screen TVs and monitors. Any how, I found a way to keep it in landscapde mode (look for my thread called landscape view +solved+.
I tried typing in full qwerty and compact qwerty mode in portrait screen but it just wasnt the same (or even close) to a large keyboard. So I resorted to trying to type in landscapde mode using full qwerty and it was just as good as the tytn ii keyboard. Snailslug's wonderful app called touch response made it even better. His app added little vibration feedback (haptic I believe is the term) to touching the screen. So using the virtual keyboard is much more predictable if you can imagine.

I have tested both and I can say, being a Universal Super keyboard user, that HD is almost perfect but the lack of physical keyboard stop me to buy it, a Physical Kb will never be beaten for any fantastic on screen virtual Kb.
So if I had to decide for any of those being the only options I would choose Touch Pro because the Kb, even with that fantastic super screen of the HD.
Or dreaming a little bit I would wait for the upcoming HD touch Pro....
Iphone? Never in my life!!
I've had both on hand: Touch PRO and HD. And now i am really satisfied with HD compared to what I've been with Raphael. I've been considered so much before change from Raph to HD. I'd been with Raph for a month and swapped with many ROMs and radios (only Raphael radio) before making a decision to switch to HD... Beyond all of Raphael's pros is its crappy BATTERY LIFE
It only lasts for a day with full charge on my usage (compared to the same usage with HD). The GPS is so bad, could not fix as fast as my Polaris.
I have to say I'm really disappointed with Raph as I thought it could be another king replaced for the Kaiser...
Go to HD then you will have no regret and waste !
as a TyTN owner.. i thought of getting a raphael.. but looking at them.. they dont have many differences.. ok the vga screen.. the looks etc.. overall though its the exact same device pumped up..
besides.. im a more of a techie gadget guy.. the raphael doesnt come close to the HD from my point of view.. the raphael is a more bussiness man type of device rather the HD is the more
show off device.. get the HD you wont regret it!
cheers!
I too have upgraded from a Kaiser to the Touch HD.
Bit of a no-brainer for me as I found I hardly ever used the slide-out keyboard on the Kaiser. The basic WM keyboard has always been a fast method of entering text for me, particularly with the help of predicitve text and gesture recognition.
Spb Keyboard is meeting my needs for basic text entry on the HD. If I need to do a serious amount of text entry the stylus comes out and I use the standard WM keyboard again. With practise I think this is a pretty fast and accurate way of entering text.
Just in case it hasn't sunk in (!), the screen on the HD is FANTASTIC! Web browsing is excellent. The extra screen space and resolution is also fantastic in Pocket Informant agenda view. And mobile shell is great on the bigger screen.
As someone's said above, lack of D-pad is an issue to start with but only because you have to re-learn how to use your favourite programmes. After a while it's fine.
Setting up haptic feedback is a good thing.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what WinMo developers will do next year to tweak their software for the HD. It's good at the moment but could be more finger-friendly in places. Eg I know the next version of Pocket Informant will be more finger-friendly. Hopefully other developers will head in this direction too.

According to the service manual (http://mikechannon.net/PDF%20Manuals/HTC_Blackstone_Service_Manual.pdf) the US ATT 850 and 1900 HSDPA/UMTS bands are supported.
The original specs showed no support for these bands -- but now????
Are you getting 3G speeds in the US???
Ok guys just trying to get opinions out there. Currently using the Touch HD. Came from a Nokia device so I love the speed of symbian compared to Windows. It seems like the time has come for me to figure out if I want to keep the Touch HD or not.
Pro:
I love the big screen.
It looks sleek.
Easy to flashfirmware and tweaking performance is fun.
Con:
Incoming calls is a little laggy. Sometimes calls come in as unknown.
Phone feels a slower than ones I've used before.
No TV-Out.
*Having a keyboard would be a plus. But without it is not a Con*
I'm actually debating getting rid of the Touch HD for either the Xperia X1i/X1a so I would gain a keyboard and overall use would stay the same.
Or I thought about getting the Nokia 5800 tube, so that I gain the TV-Out feature to display gps on my indash and have the feel of symbian again.
Or ultimate would be to get the new n97 which has a large screen and keyboard.
What do you guys think? I think the biggest thing bothering me is the phone feelings a bit laggy compared to my previous nokia phones.
try keyboard in landscape mode man it works very well.
incomoingcall work well to me too.
after using it i dont wanna come back with symbyan anymore
Sorry but you knew it had no keyboard when you got it so if it is a "con" and not a "pro", why did you get it in the first place?
well then I guess I should list it as a neutral thing. I would like a full keyboard, but I'm satisfied with the compact querty at the moment. So good call tboy.
I dunno, going to the X1 isn't going to do much for you other than the physical keyboard. It sounds like love Symbian so maybe just wait for the N97.
I have both Nokia n95 an htc HD, HD is much better! 1 thing above all: HD is fully customizable, and you can improve it with new official roms or with a lot of cooked roms.......
Hello
I have the HD and the Nokia Tube.
The Nokia Tube is crap.
Slow as hell, and the worst GUI i have ever seen.
Flash a few cooked roms first... see if that makes your HD the device you always wanted...
do you recomend any?
I also own a n95 and the hd, and the nokia is no match for the hd in any aspect. Once you get used to the hd big screen and lots of features, you wonder how you could waste your money in the nokia set.
The hd is fairly fast for me, the gps works much better than the n95's. It fully customizable, the battery lasts longer, the rds radio of the hd is much better that the visual radio of the n95 (in Spain the rds system is spread all around the country while the visual radio is scarcely used), there's a lot of sotware available for the hd... in summary, i would't change it.
But each user asks for different features so...that's just my opinion.

You could try SPB Full Keyboard
Symbian UI sux the biggest time ever!!!!
There is no Symbian or Nokia I have ever tried that is nice or fast, the N96 is a piece of s..t! I stompted on the damn thing into pieces, seriously, kept freezing and the menu's are a nightmare, menu's within menus within more menus.... The "cons" you mentioned are nothing compared to any Symbian.
"TV Out" its a gimic function of Samsung and Nokia, the quality of TV Out function is way way below VHS quality making it a whole waste of time IMHO, anyway just my 2 cents in a useless topic.
Perhaps Symbian seems more suited to your needs
I went shopping for a new HTC device yesterday.
I looked at the Diamond, Touch Pro, Xperia X1, G1 and the Touch HD.
I found the Diamond's screen size to adequate, but the lack of storage card baffles me.
The Touch Pro was just to heavy but the keyboard was very useable + storage card.
The Xperia's keyboard felt better, but the weight killed it for me. The screen is also far too small to handle WVGA.
The G1's 16million colurs makes the same difference with the screen as an iPod. HTC really should move to 16M colours asap. The interface was great, but you can tell it is in its infancy. I will be watching Android keenly over the next year.
Then we have the HD :
The screen size makes a huge difference - 3.8" WVGA is the perfect size for this res (2.8" is borderline too small).
The device is the exact same size as the iPhone (I think the box matches Apple's packaging as well...) This fits nicely in the hand and feels very light.
The screen size also helps with finger inputs, even on the standard keyboard!
The device is fast. I found no lag running through the programs, even while leaving 10 open. The 512Mb RAM certainly helps there.
A hardware keyboard for me is a con. When I moved to one (XDA Mini S), I found it strange to get used, but percivered, when I moved back to an onscreen keyboard, I certainly did not miss the physical kb.
After playing with all 5 devices, I have payed up for the HD.
It'll be delivered on Tuesday.

davideuck, believe me!
Thanks for input guys,
I do like the ability to flash new roms as I am trying to keep up with Laurentius26 and the L26 roms. It seems the V7 seems to be pretty responsive. As far as the tube VS touch HD Speed comparison, thanks for the info.
On the TV-Out feature, I would only use it to display GPS on my indash so I can easily get around by getting a decent car mount I guess. I've been keeping up with that thead and haven't found one I liked yet.
Bringing up the point that symbian isn't as customizable friendly I guess it would advantage me to stay with the touch so that I can always flash different roms and see which I like better. And between the Xperia and the Touch HD, thats going to be a hard button keyboard VS big screen.
Now to go read up on some more interesting apps/games to install. Thanks again guys! Keep the input coming if you like! I appreciate it.
My first post here at xda, so forgive me while i get used to it ;-)
the touch hd is quite impressive as allrounder. i'm more than a little jealous of the screen compared to my own omnia.
but omnia is till my personal choise of today; huge internal memore (i currently use 16 gig + 16 gig sdhc) although it's 3.5mm jack is indirect, if does come as adapter in the sales box. it is a bit fatter than the hd though but not too much- 12.5mm. and it has the tv out u mentioned. anyway it is to my taste right now.
if u have the patience for future model i found some interresting ones here:
http://www.gsmarena.com/the_8_megapixel_samsung_i8910_records_hd_video_ready_to_roll-news-776.php
it seems the next generation of omnia. though rumor has it that it'll be running symbian instaid of wm... and by now i have gotten stuck on wm and its flexibillity. i'm not sure that i can go back. still if u look at its specks they doo make my mouth water- heh he.
http://www.gsmarena.com/toshiba_unleashes_the_tg01__the_ubersmartphone_to_rule_them_all-news-768.php
this one is a pure wm platform wich seems to leave even hd trailiang in the dust. but remember that with a screen as big as 4.1 inches u may need to resow your pockets in all shirts and pants. still size matters when using gui's and you hd is already a good example there.
none of them packs a built-in thumpboard though. for that u may need to to go n97, touch pro, xperia, HTC dream or G1. i've no experience with android yet. but as for wm's i hear experia is annoyingly slow, and if u already have trouble with the speed of the HD u may need to stay far away from this one. all of them packs better screenresolutions than omnia, but the benefits of higher resolution without bigger screen on these devices is argueable. on 3.2 inches i don't miss the extra pixels on windows mobile.
a good thing might be if others told about their experiences with various models. my dad for one would never trade in his HD for my omnia. but if i had to buy a new one today i'd still choose it over the others out there.
needs and tastes differ.
a little off toppic- sorry.
does anyone know if if it possible to mod s60-5th the same way as SPB and PointUI does it for wm? my only experience with it is n93 wich i kept as my primary for one and a half years. never thought of costumizing it though. and i've fallen in love with it on wm.
Cheeze,
I have the same problem.
X1 will have the same problem in terms of the lag.
keyboards are good, but you dont need them as much, you need to get use to the touch screen... give it more time...
If you want something just as good as the HD with no Lag, go iphone, but then you drop alot of good things with the HD.
i did at first contemplate selling off the HD and going in for the iphone, but i have used the iphone, and liked it for the whole 2 months i had it before i went to a smaller phone... and then to the HD...
the iphone was basic to what i needed it for, the hd works perfectly...
let me tell you, after 3 months, you will be fine with the hd, but the lag will increase... especially in calls... and if you are like me.. with an ever increaseing phone book addess list.. it doesnt help... due to work, my phone book is now at 500+, and that was after cutting it down due to the financial crises...
in all likelyhood i will go back to the iphone depending on what the next update is in July.. then in august will truely decide....
I to went from the HD to the iphone. I do miss the big screen and badass resolution but after a few weeks and jail breaking i dont even think about the hd or windows mobile for that matter.
Im currently looking to move from my Nokia E90 to The HD. I have never used a HD before so i cannot comment on it, but the Symbian email system is awful which is one of the reasons that im looking to move away from Symbian.
I have looked at the 5800 but it will be a "downgrade" from my E90. Also the N97 does look good but it only has 3 rows with the numbers intergrated into the top "qwerty" row.
That totally puts me off it
I'm a bit anoyed with the slowness of Touch HD so am considering moving to Hero or iPhone.
iPhone seems to be very quick, but I don't really like Apple's lock-it-down concept, so if UI speed on Hero is comparable to iPhone, I'd rather go that way.
Any input on this?
Hero all the way, more options as such.. however there are some bugs with flash otherwise go for it... i wud still stay with the HD, bigger screen/better reso, everytin else is the same as the hero, cept the digital compass - if u have gps, its rather useless.
hope i helped.
I would prob view the options in person rather then
judging from youtube clips and the likes

iPhone 3gs can be jailbroken now...if you want to go down that route
I can't understand what everybody means with "the Touch HD interface is so slow"
How could it be much faster? Or is there such a big gap between Touch HD and iPhone in UI speed?
Maybe I can try an iPhone myself in the next days to look for big differences, but atm i can't imagine, that it would be so much faster.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if an App has to load a certain amount into the memory, there MUST be a small lag before the program opens.
And I think the Touch HD handles Apps and especially its TouchFLO interface very well and fast. So I have no need to even compare to iPhone or something similar because I'm happy
Well UI on Touch HD is slow(-er than iphone 3gs)! Did you not expirience the lag between your action and reaction, when you e.g. move between the tabs, or when you answer the call (veeery annoying), when your going through the contacts, etc?
Iphone seems to do all these things with no noticable dealy.
Also browsing on iPhone is much better (read: faster & better screen rendering and navigation) even though screen resolution is lower.
I guess I'll have to wait for Hero to get into the shops and test in person...
Whats your memory usage like while you are having slow responses from the touch? I don't use TouchFlo and my HD is very fast apart from some of the larger apps like tom tom they all open straight away.
Maybe its because I don't got a direct comparison myself.
But for me, there is no disturbing lag which would me force to buy the iPhone
Like I said, hopefully I can test it myself and compare.
I will give instant feedback after that.
I think iPhone is not exactly faster, but it's much more smooth, it needs slightest touch/multi-touch to response, whereas for HTC Touch HD we have to use more force.
You should try iPhone and you'll get what I mean .
I dont know about hero but iphone resolution is HVGA 480x320 which is lower than a VGA 480x640. if your used to HD screen resolution 480x800 then you will find HVGA pixelated. I would never buy a phone with screen resolution lower than VGA no matter how fast the UI. Remember iphone os is not the same as wm which loads a lot of things on startup due to its multi-tasking capability. try turning off touchflo that would make your HD a lot faster. Keep your HD which is superior to iphone 3Gs
I suggest you try the cooked ROMs if you haven't. They can be very fast and stable. Personally, I have used both iPhone and I have Touch HD with Dutty's WM 6.5 Muchos R4 Rom, I would never think of switching to an iPhone. My Touch HD is very responsive and Fast even with TF3D enabled.
I'm going to wait for another htc phone based on android sense but with a new procesor

Totally agree. I use HD and Iphone and thanks to Dutty's WM6.5 R4 I like HD much more!
"I think iPhone is not exactly faster, but it's much more smooth, it needs slightest touch/multi-touch to response, whereas for HTC Touch HD we have to use more force."
sounds more like a capative vs. restience touch screen hardware difference
some of the andriod devices like capative touch screens too
I've had me HD for about a month now.
Sure it's slow with some things. (not much though)
But, I'm sure the iphone has it's issues also?
The touch can be adjusted to suit, many things can be adjusted. And there are many apps to load and custom HD to your liking.
I did find, having about 9 apps runnig, started to show a little more 'slowness' than norm, but compared with my old S730, it flies along
I spent ages deciding between the HD and new iphone.
I'm plenty happy to get the HD, not wishing I got the iphone.
I haven't seen Hero yet in person but would suggest to wait for the new processors they'll be ready in a month or two and your HD is going to "survive" till then.Personally i won't change it for awhile I like tweaking it and it now has a "soul" it's like a pet compared to the iphone which is like a "tool" .
i would wait until senseUI comes out and able to be put on your HD and see what you think
The smoothness of the iPhone is because of the coding. If you want to see the same degree of smooth scrolling then install PhoneEx for your WinMo and you will see what i mean.
Everything you do is similar to the iPhone smoothness.
WinMo is easily capable but it needs competent programmers, like the creators of PhoneEx to make it decent.

Hey guys,
I currently own a Sony Ericsson Xperia, and am possibly looking for a new phone. I love the look of a proper HTC phone, with Manilla ofc, because I love it, and they are good quality phones. I can't decide between a Diamond 2 (Topaz) or a Touch HD (Blackstone) and would like to know what you guys love so much about the Diamond 2.
Be it custom ROMs here, features etc. I would love to know what you like best =)
Thanks ^^
The only difference is that blackstone has a little large display but the resolutions are same.
And the blackstone has no zoombar. But its no problem.
If i were you i'd choose Blackstone.
Both worth to your money.
I love Topaz because it really feels more like a phone compared to the Diamond. I also like to watch alot of movies and series on my phone so a big screen was seomthing I needed (movies looks amazing on the screen btw).
The phone is really fluid and smooth and I haven't installed a Custom ROM because the Stock is really good (under 50% RAM usage all the time except when I watch movies of course).
If you like to listen to music and watch movies, pick the HD (it got 3.5mm jack, tho you can buy a adapter to the Topaz for $5 or something).
And now for a difference of opinion...
I find the blackstone to large for a day to day phone, and prefer the diamond 2....

I agree. I had the choice of either but chose the Touch Diamond 2 because the HD is too big for my pockets.
Man.
The TD2 can do VGA (640x480) videos, the HD can't. Though don't expect the quality to be as good as a proper camera doing VGA videos.
i'd keep your cash and stay away from htc all together...this phone is nothing but problems and faults.....just look at the board and see how many people are complaining about things with it.
I should've got an Iphone...even though i used to be very anti apple everything.......at least they work
I love my TD2 - I think it has a perfect size. It's snappy. I use it with SPB Mobile Shell and it works great. The only bad thing with the TD2 is battery life -I get under one day with heavy use..
If not TD2 I would definately not go for Blackstone -but wait for HTC Leo...........

Same here with the battery life, but if I let it in standby over the night (6-10 hours) I don't lose more than 10% on that time which I think is damn good.
I made a test yesterday and watched as many movies I could on the phone and I could watch a totalt of 3h 20min before it died (100% to 0%).

Ditto on the battery life. I find Manila a bit too finger friendly. I've got the Topaz Essential ROM and SPB Mobile shell 3 running on it and its real smooth. There are a few quirks here and there as with any other phone but HTC makes one of the best Windows Mobile phones on the market, great for business or pleasure.
I prefer Diamond 2 cuz the screen fits girls very much. Compared with it, HD is a little bit larger than that. I have to take the phone everyday and the HD is just too large for that.

Hey guys,
I currently own a Sony Ericsson Xperia, and am possibly looking for a new phone.
Thanks ^^

I wouldn't listen to this. The Topaz is the best phone I've had yet... well worth your money!
I considered getting a blackstone, but I also found the screen too large. I would consider the Topaz to be an upgrade on the Blackstone. It has slightly more functionality, it looks better and since it's newer it seems to be better supported. (e.g. It will be getting the windows Mobile upgrade and a new Manila soon - Not sure if the blackstone will be getting these Of course you could always have these with a cooked ROM)
I just got mine for 2 weeks and so far I got no complaint.
When I try out Blackstone and Topaz I feel the touchscreen work slightly faster (this might due to firmware) and blackstone with silicone case cannot fit my pocket.
Also smaller screen with the same resolution just give you a crispy video playback and to my surprise the built-in media player actually work better than core player. (at least for h.264+aac encode).
PS. Go to hell with iphone I you love sending messages forgot about iphone. It would make your life harder. I usually a pro apple (owning power mac g3-5 + mac pro) but iphone is just a fad...
TD2 vs. HD

I prefer TD2 instead of HD, but that's just me...
Good luck to take the right decision for you!
Can any of you D2 owners compare the external speaker to lets say a BB 8900? I know it can't match TP2's speakers but how much worse is it?
The external speaker is located aft under the camera lens and lighting. Sound can be tuned to maximum loud and clear sound bearable. But there are many complaints as they coulcn't hear any audio (no ring, no alerts, no music) coming through the external speaker on BB 8900.
Does anyone know if the "rumored" 3G AT&T version of the D2 that's "supposed" to be released in October has 3.5 mm headphone jack? The leaked pictures do not show the top or lower edges of the phone. Some of the recent releases of the TP2 in the US and the new My Touch 2 have a 3.5mm jacks. I refuse to carry a dongle and the sound quality of Bluetooth headphones are not match for my UE IEMs. This is one feature that makes the iPhone very convenient.
YES!!
I owned a NOVA (ELF) for 2 years, which was not a bad device at all, but the new Diamond 2 is much better. The in-hand feeling is wonderful. I did not have problems until now and I am also happy with the battery duration.

I love everything about my HD! Sad init!
Why not hold out for the new HTC Leo though?
madin,
Yes, very much so. Once you've seen a TouchHD, it makes you wonder why you even paid all that money for a screensize that is on Xperia. Lawl.
And yes, programs like FingerKeyboard and RescoKeyboard PRO makes it almost natural even without a physical keyboard. However, just understand that with great screen size, comes great responsibility.
If you're one to treat your phones with callousness, stick to your SEX1. High pressure can render your TouchHD inflicted with a Newton Ring (in my opinion, the large lcd panel makes it weaker than a smaller lcd panel).
Cheers.
the best thing I love about the hd is the large screen and the interface... gotta love xda developers for making roms that take the best of all the htc interfaces and put them into the phone. currently using the TOPIX unleashed 3.0 FINAL rom and I cannot say how perfect this phone is now.
I think you should wait. Soon there will be new phones from HTC (Leo), which looks really great
Yeah i love my hd but it may be worth holding out for leo...
I'd also wait for Leo. Looks like a slicker HD.
Yeah, I was reading some stuff about the Leo this morning. Looks amazing. Think I will have to hold out for that. Still nice to see what you guys had to say about the HD, as I'm assuming the Leo will be a better HD perhaps?
Think thread has ran its purpose. Thread closed
