Hello i''m interested in one between MAGIC and DREAM,but i'm more interested in Dream for its price in primis and also for the qwerty..
I can buy it without great sacrifice but i read around and discovered that because of its poor rom memory it is not going to have future upgrade by android like next "donut" and "eclair"
What do you suggest?Should i make a sacrifice and spend all my budget for a Magic with 512 rom and 282 ram (magic tim) or doesn't worth the difference?
Do you think Magic will have a good donut-clair expirience while Dream is going to die alone with its 1.5 version of android??
I already see it a little tired with swappnes and overclock to run Hero..what do you think?What should i buy?

Its not like Hero isnt sluggish on its own..
I just got the G1 around 2 weeks ago and I love it. It has pretty much everything (and then some) and costs so little in comparison with the more "updated" models.. I dont see anyone stopping development for G1 anytime soon either..
If you need a phone right now, I'd get the g1. If you can wait, I'd skip on the Magic and wait a month or 2, there are quite a few Android phones coming in before Christmas, it might be interesting to check them out.
you need to think long-term and get the htc Magic, much better investment. if you are interested in a keyboard, then consider one of the future android devices that are coming out. there are several with keybaords like motorola or samsung.
the g1 is limited now on space and memory and should be at an end soon. although i am sure development will still continue, you will be limited with what you can actually do.
I'd go with the Samsung Galaxy because 10 GB of storage sound great. The Dream is a dying phone. You can still get donut or eclair possibly if your phone is rooted because of dev's efforts, but it's also frustratingly underpowered.
If I could have any android phone I'd get a Magic, just because the G1 is a brick, and I never use the keyboard so it would be nice to have something a little slimmer.
The 32A Magics with 288mb RAM seem to be imposible to find outside of canada, and I'm sure of you could get hold of one it would be very expensive. Extra space on the ROM doesn't interest me, as we can store pretty much anything we need on our sdcards.

No, its probably not the right section. Q&A would be more appropriate.
In any case, pretty much all commercially mass produced Android phones are using MSM720X processors. There is not much difference between Dream and Magic, save the keyboard and in some cases more ram. If you want a better device you will have to wait.
As for whether the Dream will get future development and updates, that's really all up to the Dream development community. I think the current userbase of MSM720X Android devices is broad enough that there should be atleast a few developers sticking around. All the talk of future versions of Android not being provided as carrier updates is way overblown. I mean heck, of the people who do care about that matter, how many actually still run carrier builds anyway?
Bottom line: if you can afford a Dream or Magic, it's still a good time to buy in.
If Motorola doesn't scrw up, the Sholes would probably be the best choice. Slide out QWERTY and an OMAP 3430 Processor = Yey

I wouldn't go for the TATTOO, it lacks a capacitive display.

Wait for the new phones, the storage limitations can be patched with reformatting and external flash, but the raw CPU power difference will be vital for future updates.
This should not be in this section. Thats why God invented the general section

I love my G1 and wouldn't trade it for anything currently available (because of the keyboard) but I think the Nand and RAM limitations are genuine concerns going forward. If I HAD to purchase a new phone right now, I'd still get the G1, but otherwise I'd wait a few months and check out the other qwerty options available.

The lack of capacitive isn't necessarily a bad thing (in fact stylus input for entering Chinese characters is a big reason why resistive touchscreens are still prevalent, especially in Asia). However, the downgrade to QVGA is a real bummer. Not just that it's a cost cutting issue, but that HVGA is (rightfully or otherwise) assumed resolution for the currently available applications.
Bottom line is for HTC enthusiasts, the rightful successor to the Dream has not been announced or previewed yet.

That's pretty much my philosophy - I wouldn't buy any phone right now as a "future proof" purchase. Every phone out has its limitations: the Dream's being memory and the Magic being the lack of hard keys. As a purchase TODAY, I'd probably get the G1 again, but either is gonna offer a nice experience. If I could wait a few months, I would definitely do that - there's several nice Android options in the pipeline.

words from a developer. he suggested the magic. u should take his words since he does makes roms and see's what our dreams/g1s can and cannot do.
SO.. as the title says... is the Hero worth buying now?
Also, I`ve read here about some problems with the touch screen that suddenly appear... is that a general issue or just some isolated incidents?
The phone is over a year old now, the CPU is a generation older than the other Android devices with the 1GHz Snapdragon processor. I'm sure the phone manufacturers are preparing the next generation devices for later in the year - making those phones obsolete.
If you're after a cheap device then you should be able to get a Hero second hand for a decent price. If you're willing to root and try new ROMs then there is still a decent community for the Hero - otherwise you'll be stuck on Android 2.1 if you stick with the official updates. The Hero is highly unlikely to get any more updates from HTC.
If your budget allows for a newer phone, then you'd be better off getting a more powerful Android device.
Thanks, I too think that it`s a little old, but it has a fairly good price, almost the same as Wildfire here, where I live, but that qvga screen on the Wildfire is a let down for me.
Alex~ is bang on, it is cheap,and the community on here is great, so if your gona be using custom roms then go for it. But I wouldn't like to say how many devs will still bother with us after Xmas.
If you can put up ur budget, do that.

Tru, there are better phones available if buying new, but it's more than competent if second hand.
I'll be about till May 2011 with my hero anyway, as my contract expires then. And even then, the hero is popular enough to merit continued support i reckin.
Hi I just bought one off eBay about a month old for £150 took a bit time to root and get used to Android, but worth it and its ok for price with lots of features. Although I think I now should have gone for HTC Legend?

Not to mention that there is no other Android phone with as cool appearance as that of a black Hero (the european version, not the US Sprint's ugly cousin). I held the Desire in my hands and played with it a bit, but although it was blazingly fast, it didn't strike me as something I'd want.
What I will want next year is a Hero-shaped phone with modern hardware.

I agree completely, imo the only other phone that looks as good or better than the Hero is the Legend. A Hero-shaped super phone would be amazing

they've released the htc wildfire which is very much just a repackaged hero... i have no idea why they did it. it lacks all the style and class of the hero and only has an fm radio to make up for it.
Well if you root your Hero and overclock it, it pretty much becomes a Legend. Without the better screen and slimer profile. I want the Desire but got the HTC Hero this year because it just looked awesome (unfortunately Canadian carriers screw you over with 3 year contracts instead of two ) but I do love my Hero as it is my first smart phone and I love the 'chin'.
It is a matter of preference so the choice in the end is yours, but we do have Feeyo .

I get that a bit. Although the only smartphone that really has any recognition here in NZ is the iPhone. I imported my phone as we don't even have a decent range of Android phones (at reasonable prices). I mean... we JUST got the Nexus One which Google just stopped selling? lol.
But I only recently got my hero (a month ago now?) and i'm happy with my purchase. I mean... there's other purchases that could be had. I almost got a Milestone but the keyboard really put me off (played with my mates', it was a terrible keyboard.. the buttons are so stiff it isn't funny). I mean... I noticed a price drop of the Milestone shortly after I purchased my Hero but.. Eh, I can't complain. Bigger screen/higher res would've been nice though. Specs aren't really much more to write home about though.
Hero was reasonably priced, looks good, performs well enough. My only real annoyances about it are: No official Froyo, smaller screen/lower-resolution than others, can't run some newer games which i probably wouldn't play much anyway.
I'll probably upgrade next year when I have lots of money

Not that I am one to dance on graves or imply than someone is 'gettingonabit'....but the inevitable truth is that our little Hero's have been overtaken by newer, faster and more powerful models with smaller chins.
So with upgrades, including mine, looming I'm asking... What handset will be next? Why that handset? Or will you be waiting for something even shiniererer to come out?
I for one am being drawn to the Desire Z although I'm not that keen ok it's looks. My ideal would be an Android version of HTC 7 Pro.
Ever since I was literally mugged of my T-mobile Vario, I've really missed a physical keyboard. I'm also hoping for something with a decent battery life, so the Desire HD has fallen like Naomi Campbell in high heels and is out it the running straight away.

I'm starting to look around a bit right now too! My upgrade isn't due until about July, but figure unless some nice new phones come out in the next few months (which is highly likely, and they will probably have a price to boot), most of what I'll be looking at on contract is out now!
Desire HD - I like the power but not too keen on the size.
Desire Z - I like the size but it has an 800MHz CPU which is probably ample for my needs.
Galaxy S - I really like HTC Sense, infact it pains me I use a custom ROM on my Hero because Sense is just too slow for me.
I'm even considering a W7 phone - maybe, but I really love the customisability, and geekyness of the Android phones !
my next handset doesnt quite exist yet. I'll retire the hero when I see, dual core, notification light and either a slide out keyboard or a screen above 4.1 inches .. Im hoping htc will bring it.. think I will avoid moto almost regardless as I enjoy custom roms which have kept my hero fresh, to be honest Im upgrading because I cant type easily on the smallish screen/ with lack of physical keyboard.. love the phone otherwise
I decided to take the plunge to WP7 and bought a HTC HD 7 on O2 pay as you go ..as I had never used a Winmob phone before
I love the Big screen and gaming is good although pricey
The phone has problems with the sound and camera but otherwise is a lovely phone
Also being WP7 the apps are slowly trickling in so have to be patient.
My Hero is due for upgrade around 2 months time
so the options I am thinking about are
LG Optimus 2x - Dual core
Motorola Atrix - Dual Core
Nexus S - all for the love of google and front facing camera
Samsung galaxy S - front facing camera
Desire HD - or if Htc comes with any new phones
Nokia N9 - If its worth it
Nokia N8 - Was a nokia fan all along untill Htc came up
Iphone 4 - ZZZzzzzzzzz
I hope HTC seriously comes out with New phones or even Nokia love them hardwares

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc has also, today, just taken my interest too! Due for around March/April release, looks nice, has Android 2.3 and a descent camera by the looks of things!

Heh, heh. I know you probably made an honest mistake but damn... I would love a cell phone battery with 1800 Amps! It would last FOREVER.
At work I do testing of electrical utility grade equipment. Our 2000 Amp transformers are so heavy I can barely move them.

which galaxy? I've read that galaxy S has lots of aftermarket roms available but galaxy captivate has issues running anything over 2.1 (like, it can even burn itself out!?)
Atrix is coming to Orange... I'm going to struggle avoiding it.

Hi. Hero is my first android device. I am using it for more than a year and I have started to think about replacing it with something new. First of all I want to say that hero is a brilliant device and I am very happy that I have bought it in september '09. Secondly, I expect from my next cell to have a bigger screen with a bigger resolution, better CPU, more memory and ... a camera flash light.
The DHD is a very nice looking device but it is too big and the battery is weak.
Galaxy S is too shiny and plastic, but the gaming performance and speed is WOW! However it is a Samsung and I have bad memories with them.
So a perfect replacement for my Hero would be the Desire, but .... Motorola and LG are making a big performance leap forward with their dual-core devices. So buying now a Desire wouldn't be smart, cause in a year's time it will probably be like my current hero (quite good, but with many limitations).
So I am looking forward to MWC where there will be announced a replacement for the Desire and I think that will be my next android device.

Something I am looking for in my next phone is ANT+ compatibility. Sony Ericsson is the only one announced so far, but I am not keen about them. A samsung or a HTC would be nice. I'm on my 4th HTC at this stage.
Well following MWC nothing really grabbed me.
There are three phones around that I would consider but:
Desire Z: is just a bit crude design wise for me; two tone grey, patches of metal etc. Plus the spec will quickly get dated.
Pro 7: Nice tough looking phone but Windows OS. I would actually consider it but just can't see it having the flexibility and apps of android.
Nokia E7: LOVE the form of this handset. If the little green android was running it I would get it in a heartbeat. But sadly it's Symbian, although a new version, I'm really not sure I'd be happy.
So generally feeling at bit miffed- right handset with wrong OS or wrong handset with right OS.
Might have to consider giving up the keyboard

One thing for sure is this time I'm not tying myself up in a 24 months contract...
In a lot of cases it can work cheaper taking a monthly rolling contract (costs vary between £10-£20 instead of your general £35) and then buying the phone separately. With this option I would however have to downgrade my ambitions...
I could always go for a Droid X HD10 lol...

This is a question thats on my mind at the minute as well.
The main problem for me is that Ive become so used to the 4.3" screen that I really dont think I could handle using a phone with a screen of less than 4".
Im currently torn between the DHD, Nexus S, Incredible S, Desire S or the Sensation.
Im seriously thinking about waiting until June for the sensation, my concern is the battery though. HTC seem to be pretty lax when it comes to getting optimal battery life from a phone, the sensation with its dual core and new sense (which will probably be even more of a memory hog than the old sense) is going to tear the arse out of any battery.
Theres also the issue of how long its going to take to acheive root / s-off.... (Im very impatient and will not be able to put up with sense for that long, I really dont like the android version for some reason.)
DHD, obviously very similar to the HD2 with a good amount of development going on. However, poor battery life and the age of the device put me off a little. When I upgrade I'm going to have that phone for 18 months so I feel like I should probably go for a evice thats as new as possible.
Nexus, the only thing really putting me off is the fact that its made of nasty looking shiny plastic and doesnt feel as solid as the HD2. Also not a huge selection of custom ROMS for it from what I can see, compared to some devices.
So errr yeah... lol

I think Android is great, it opens many doors specially for people on XDA, but the thing is. I always think android is missing the experience. It's not fun, and it's just an OS with apps. I will use Android till the end of my contract... And when the time comes I definitely get a WP7 device. Of course an 4.3"(+) screen. Once you get a fridge phone always a fridge phone Personally I'm waiting for Nokia to join the WP7 party, I know Nokia has the best and trustworthy hardware for their phones.
I just took Nexus S, actually looks not bad but screen is noticeably smaller. I did it because I wanted to resell my HD2 while still in warranty and Samsung are offering very good discounts on the SNS in France (it costs less than the Galaxy!). When Sensation comes out and price calms down I'll resell the SNS to get that marvel. Sadly, I'm hugely missing HTC Sense...
seriously even i am kinna confused i i say i want desirehd its been already ported to hd2 & so also nexus...i hope htc comes out dual core hd2...so we can start the fun all over again i know its not possible!
But ATM its just hd2 for me!

Sadly I totaly disagree with your Nokia statement - they have lost the plot in high end phones over the last couple of years.
The N8 is a software nightmare, as was the 5800 and that range of phones.
Their new mid range phone C7 - C5 have software issues.
This is not just my view I work it Mobile technical support. Nokia are no longer the top manufacturer - they do not rate the top 5 now. Use Google and read the comments from their CEO, he says about the same!

I think that Iphone 4 is superior for the touch screen and for the smoothness of system...Nevertheless I'm waiting for new devices of Htc like Sensation or evo 3d to make a choice...
Samsung Galaxy S 2 anyone?
I've been wondering this too. I just bought an HD2, but of course, the phone is a year old already, and smartphones are now getting 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and dual core processors.
Before long, the HD2 is going to be out of date.
Personally, the most attractive aspect of the HD2 to me is how incredibly hackable it is. If I were to upgrade, I would hope whatever phone I upgrade to would have several OSes available to use too (as opposed to just several derivatives of the same OS).

Hit the nail on the head there brother!
The HD7 is a minor temptation, but after playing with a Mozart I found that there is no connecting to a hidden network, or as a mass storage device. A shame as everything else is very nice in WP7.
So I am keeping my eye out for hot deals on HD2's
Edit: Forgot about the non-removeable/expandable storage in WP7 (I have 32Gb in my HD2)
probably getting sensation for daily driver but will be saving this HD2 because its superphone over anything, probably ever because of OS possibilities.
If there doesnt come any other better phones than sensation I will be getting it when it releases.

this or the htc sensation, im tempted to save the money and buy an s2 with the tegra 2 chip. It seems like tegra 2 will be widely supported and it'll have games optimised for it also it may lead to the phone being cracked faster.
For me there realy isnt any phone that beats HD2 (still). Im a WM6.1 ,WM6.5.x fanboy. the only hing that I miss at HD2 is harwware keyboard. but other then that it still is the perfect phone in my opinion. I never oliked phones that you get bored of quickly. HD2 has alot of development going on xda. you can have numerous OSes running on it. It never gets boring. I probably will not change my phone before there is realy something special (no, galaxy S 2 isnt special enough ).
At the moment I'm still torn between different OS's(ssssss). I've been warming to WinPho 7, but after reading over on Pocket Now about some of the things that might STILL be missing even after the Mango update later this year, I don't think I can wait. http://pocketnow.com/windows-phone/windows-phone-7-mango-the-missing-features No smart dialing, no flash support in the browser? What on earth are Microsoft doing?
Having said I can't wait for Microsoft to get their act together, if I could stick a super LCD in my HD2 and a better camera sensor, I would happily keep it for another year or two until quad core chips are out and are selling at reasonable money.
The Sensation will be such a rip-off SIM-free here in the UK this summer I couldn't bring myself to buy one; there'll be much better and more efficient hardware out by the end of '11, beginning '12 ; )

My old phone broke last week, and I had to run out and get a new one on short notice (didn't have time to fully research). I read some basic comparisons and went with the Samsung, primarily because I wanted a replaceable battery and more storage with the SD card option, it was faster, and it had some extra features.
Now I'm experiencing a bit of buyer's remorse. After more research, it seems there's several different versions of the GS4, and I'm starting to feel like I'm paying a premium price for a "second best" handset, as a more powerful processor is available in other countries. To me, if I'm buying Samsung's most expensive unit (the Note is sort of a tablet so I don't count it), then I want to get the best tech on the market. Come to find, the "best" version is Korea-only. The HTC One, as far as I know, is the best HTC offers, and is lower-price than the Samsung.
Other things are bothering me too: the SD card support is great, but the phone puts almost everything on internal storage; the GS4's camera may have a lot of mega-pixels, but overall I find it's quality to be worse; the build quality makes the phone feel fragile; it's just a tiny bit too big; all those advertised smart gestures only work in a few specific apps, and even then, don't always work right; etc. There's a lot of good things about it, to be sure (stellar battery life, even with all the TouchWiz wastefulness), but I'm starting to wonder if I would be happier with a One. Additionally, I want to be able to flash custom ROMs to my phone, and after reading some posts here and on other forums, it seems a locked bootloader may cause issues for me in the future even if I can root and flash either device now.
So, I'm considering returning it and getting a One. I'm in the US, on T-Mobile (GSM), but if I'm going to make this change and give up SD support (or "SD support," I should say), I want a 64 GB version out of the box, and an unlocked bootloader. In case you missed the title, that means the Developer Edition available direct from HTC.
My Concerns:
If I get the One from HTC, it won't have T-mobile software. This means no wifi calling (something I need). Could I just flash the T-mobile ROM to get it?
Does anyone have the Dev Edition running on T-mobile? Does it work with the network (HSPA, LTE, etc.)? It's missing the 1700 band like the Google and ATT editions, but I'm not sure if that matters.
Will the Developer edition have any difference in terms of custom ROM support, compared to the "nexus" version or a normal T-mobile version?
If I do stick with the GS4 (T-Mobile SGH-M919), or get the "standard" T-mobile HTC One, can I just root / flash that, unlock the bootloader, and basically have the google version? Or do I have to forever worry about issues because the phone can never truly be unlocked? Or a high risk of bricking from flashing / unlocking the bootloader? (I'm reasonably technical, but new to the process overall).

If you do your research the quad core beats out the big little in some areas and vice versa.
The Qualcomm one though much bigger dev support and with the Google edition S4 coming out custom aosp roms are just over the horizon.
I would hold onto that sgs4,specially if it has unlocked bootloaders.

Thanks for the reply. It's true the performance is close, but the "8 core" is the stronger version (longer battery life, better GPU, and a better DAC). But it's not night and day, and it's arguably the same / less than the hardware difference between the GS4 and HTC One anyway. More a principle thing I guess, just bothers me that I'm paying top dollar and not getting "the best." You say it has bigger dev support (I've also seen that stated elsewhere), but what about compared to the One?
My understanding is that the bootloader on my model is in fact locked (SGH-M919 / US T-Mobile version). Not sure if unlocking them is an easy matter (I know it's much more risky than just flashing a ROM; messing up the bootloader can really brick a phone, so I'm a little nervous about doing that). I suppose another option is to get the Google GS4 with an unlocked bootloader when that comes out in a few weeks...
The One has great dev support. Like really great. Maybe not as good as the S4, but definitely sufficient enough. It will be getting official paranoid android which I'm excited about. And yes the S4 is bootloader locked. Don't know if it's unlock able yet. Personally I'd say get the one. But that's because I bought the phone and if someone buys a phone, they will defend it as the best. I pretty much bought it for the same reasons others did. Beautiful design, Amazing speakers, high performance, and sense 5 is actually gorgeous. And I didn't want the S4 because of gimmicky features that make you look weird in public (people look at you weird when you swipe your hand over your phone) and are also slow to react, touch wiz is disgusting, and I'm also one of the people that can't stand plastic. I think if you were to flash a t mobile rom you'd get wifi calling working. You could ask someone in the dev section if they bother to answer you. I known for trickdroid in 5.6.0 and below you would pick your carrier and it would have a few adjustments made for whatever you picked (life wifi calling). But 6.0 is based off 4.2.2 and HTC made it so the ROM picks what it needs I think depending on your CID or what you picked as your carrier at setup. I think it's worth a shot to get it though.

i sold my galaxy s4 to get the One. i reccomend u get the tmobile one,i had the dev edition on tmobile and had issues with signal,it didnt work well.if u get
tmobile version u can flash international roms,
Get the htc one dude,the s4 lags soo much .

Not all of that is true. I've been hanging out in the S4 forums. The Big.Little chip isn't that great. It doesn't have better battery life and some of the guys found out the Big.Little isn't even implemented right. It's not saving as much battery as it's suppose to or does it function like how its presentation presents it.
The GPU on the S600 actually performs better in certain areas than the Octa does.
The CPU is minimal
The DAC tested my GSMArena performed pretty well. It's not on par with Wolfson, but it did pretty well.
And if you have 4G LTE, then it's a no brainer.
Your bootloader isn't locked. YOu can actually unlock that phone with a few dialer codes too and it could be used internationally. And that version can already flash international roms.It sounds like you need to do a lot more research. About 75% or more own the S600 versions and development is going to boom and I mean BOOM! As in explode with this version. Compared to the one, I can't really say, but lets do the math real fast. The one sold about 5 million. The S4 has sold around double of that. And 75% of that is 7.5 mil that own the S600 versions. So development sounds like it will be great on both.
I'm going to put it this one. Benchmarks don't mean squat. If you have 4G LTE, the latency is a lot better and your apps that require a data connection will actually load quicker and be more faster due to loading data faster. Benchmarks don't keep that into account. Other than that, what is the octa going to do? Open a app a few milliseconds, and I mean a very few milliseconds faster but take longer to load the internet?
What matters is functionality. Functionality that has to do with the user experience and physical experience such as screen, sound, which one gives you a better data connection, etc. Don't make a decision on these minimal differences in benchmarks.
I was VERY torn between the two. I went to the AT&T store more then once to fiddle with the devices first hand. I went through review after review on youtube and online. There were two things that sold me on the One over the GS4. First was the speakers. They just plain ROCK! No question. And the second was the fact that every time I went into the store to use the GS4....it has HORRIBLE wake lag. I mean HORRIBLE. That too me was unacceptable on any device, let alone a flagship model...
So, I came home with the one. BUT, it wasnt without issue. The phone was perfect in every way....except for the camera. My camera was stuck (no stabilization). It would take horrible blurry photos no matter what I did. ALWAYS would blur one side of the picture. Messed with it for about a week, finally took it back into the store and swapped it out for another. Now, she takes great, clear pictures!
I couldnt ask for a better phone then the HTC one to be honest.........and that is coming from someone who was a HUGE Samsung fan, and didnt ever think they would buy another HTC due to Sense. Sense 5.0 is just plain awesome!
The HTC One does infact.....ROCK!

What' sup Baron, I knew you were around these forums. I got it last weekend and I like it a lot. But there are small things i miss on the galaxy line. I'm going to be getting a SGS4 at the end of this month sometime.
Things I like about the HTC One:
1. Not just the build quality, but it seems the software is very optimized. Keep it "simple stupid" really helped guaranteed a great user experience. I was afraid of all the S4 lag stories.
2. Costco has the phone for $129.99 with a accessories kit.
3. The stereo speakers facing you is great. It literally sounds like it's double the decibels now that the speakers actually face you. I have to admit I have been startled by my notifications at work.
4. It really takes advantage of the bass in my car. I listened to Daft Punk and it's much better than my Wolfson SGS3 i9300.
I haven't tried flashing yet though. I'm sure I will flash Android Revolution HD when I finally get bored.
Things that kind of bug me:
1. I haven't gotten the update yet, but not having a menu button is bugging me since a lot of old apps have that huge menu button at the bottom.
2. I miss simple features such as headphone notifications. I walk my dogs everyday and wish notifications would come through my headphones. Maybe a custom rom will bring this feature.
3. The SGS line had custom vibration notification.
4. The notification light is really tiny.
There's pretty much a lot of little features I miss on the SGS4 line. Like swiping in the dialer to call or message. Smart stay! Task manager option in the multitasking window, etc.
I feel like the HTC One and SGS4 are tie neck and neck. But at Costco, the HTC One is $70 cheaper and that's quite a bargain!

Good to see you here! I hear you. I tried the S4 for a week, it's a good phone but good lord does it stutter a lot. That is unacceptable to me, we have crazy specs and jelly bean. I can't wait for you to try the S4 and give your opinion. Mine? The One is the better flagship for this year.

Yeah I'll be rocking both of them for a little while. Hopefully HTC continues to improve Sense to have more features. I've been keeping up with Naruto too. It's been a up and down excitement and disappointment to me. It's been entertaining, but not good writing haha.
Tis' a device comparison thread which is not allowed (see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158159). As can be seen, there is some subjectivity with regard to which is better (and come on, you're not going to get a fair comparison if you post in the HTC One forum ).
