A few weeks ago i updated to cupcake. in the instructions it said i had to update my radio and i ran into a few problems with that, but i was still able to run cupcake. i downloaded JF Updater and today it said i had 2 updates and im not sure which ones i need. it says:
Please select the update to download:
Cupcake radio, only install once.
JF 1.51
i can only select 1 at a time, so which should i install?
Well if you have never updated the radio then thats a start. Then update to the newer version of JF.
Do the radio first. It will stop appearing on the list after your JF firmware is updated.

I updated my radio to the cupcake version through the JF updater and now whenever someone calls me it immediately drops its connection to the network. I don't think I can receive text messages as well.
you must have done something wrong, try re flashing the radio again.
Which rom are you running?
I have tried to flash it again and it still doesn't work. I am running Jf 1.51.
download it directly from htc http://www.htc.com/www/support/android/adp.html, make sure u get the one under android 1.5
Just did that and it still does not work.
Please post in the proper forum.
This has nothing to do with development.
Moved to General and warned.
I had the same problems when i updated the radio from the JFUpdater... later, i updated my fone manually by downloading the archive from jf's blog.. now it works without trouble!
I was wondering if any Fresh 1.1 users have been having problems updating to the new PRL. I've tried several times throughout the day but it fails with a message to try again and to contact Sprint CS if it doesn't get resolved.
running Fresh 1.1 and just finished updating the PRL without any problems
+1. Just updated it with no problems.

Thanks for the response. I guess the problem is specific to my phone - don't think I've made any modifications outside out rooting, istalling amonra and fresh 1.0>1.1 though.
My prl update went without a hitch, fresh 1.1
Updated 4 hero np here.
Worked for me.
On AOSP 1.6, so not an option to update. Used my Fresh 1.1 Nandroid and updated from that, then reloaded my AOSP 1.6 backup and viola! 60659 on AOSP 1.6
I'm on fresh 1.1 getting an error 1062.
what is a PRL and how do you update it on Fresh 1.1?
Just updated mine no problem on Fresh 1.1
@durhamite: PRL stands for Preferred Roaming List (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preferred_Roaming_List)
You update it by going to Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Update PRL
Basically it's a list of towers and how to connect to them when not on a Sprint tower. (Basically.)
I had to call sprint and have them refresh my PRL and profile from thier side to get it to work. Might want to give them a call.
I just got an error running Fresh 1.1. "PRL could not be updated. Please try again later. If the problem persists, you may need to contact Customer SErvice. Error code:1012."
Just got off chat with C.S. at Sprint and this update is only to correct Manual Roaming Issues. Apparently they do not like forced roaming LOLOL.
Interesting... I wonder if there is a correlation between the PRL update failing for me, and my phone force roaming once. Do you think there is anything possible with that? Oh, and I do want this update... so how can I update it? I saw that I should call Sprint... but what should I say/ask them?
Mine updated without a problem. If it is not working for you just tell them that you know of the update and need to know how to perform it since your phone wont do it.
updated with no probems here
Quick question, what number should I call to get the update from Sprint?

Speed dial 2
i tried to update PRL and it said said "PRL was updated but will not install??" wtf is that?? lol..
UPDATE.. after 4 times trying it, updated and was applied.
Ok so I've searched up and down and can find nothing so far. Here's amy Phone specs
Phone: Rooted G1
SPL: Danger SPL
Radio: 6250S.20.17U_2.22.19.26I
ROM: CyanomenMod 4.2.14.1
Ok now whenever i flash any rom on my phone whether it is super D, htcclay or cyanogen I get no service and just an x next to where my signal bars are. When I go into settings it under the baseband version it just shows unknown. The only way I can get things back is if I restore from nandroid backup of version 4.2.14.1 i had. Even if I try flashing version 4.2.14.1 fresh it does the same thing, no signal/service. Whenever flashing roms I always wipe multiple times before and that does not work. I try flashing the radio beforehand then flashing the rom that also does not work. I've followed numerous instructions to the letter in the development section for flashing roms but none seem to work. The roms ALL install perfectly but I just get NO SIGNAL after the install. Can anyone assist and tell me why this is please.
Also if I try to flash the new G1 radio 2_22_23_02 it doesn't flash at all. It will install when in the recovery mode and when I hit home+back to reboot it shows the htc logo for a quick second then disappears. When it restarts in recovery mode and I boot the phone up again it still has my original radio. Any assistance is appreciated. I've searched and can find nothing on my particular issue.
I'm having the same problem, except I got there a different way. I was rooted on JF 1.51 and decided to unroot. I flashed the original G1 bootloader and then loaded DREAIMG.img. I waited for the OTA update, and when it did, that's when I had the problem. I've tried manually updating to RC30, RC33, which work just fine, but as soon as I install anything higher than that, the problem starts. I do not know if the unknown baseband version symptom existed with any of these other attempts. Also, a force-close message for com.android.phone repeats endlessly. I tried to check the APN, but when I try to click on Settings -> Wireless -> Mobile networks, it won't open.
Phone: G1
Firmware: 1.6
Baseband version: UNKNOWN
Kernel version: 2.6.29-00479-g3c7df37; [email protected]#19
Build number: DMD64
One last thing: As I was trying things earlier, I started getting a "No SIM card" error so I went to T-Mobile today and got a new one. I don't know if these two things are related or not, but thought I would mention it.
have you try do update Radio??
Do you mean in addition to the OTA update? No. I loaded the DREAIMG file, and then updated with
1. signed-RC30-from-RC29-fat.1582cace.zip
2. signed-PLAT-RC33-from-RC30.zip
When the OTA comes, that's when the problem happens, but I have not tried to update anything after the OTA installs.
I thought that the issue might result from updating too much at one time (e.g., RC29 or RC33 all the way to Donut), but when I then try to update to Cupcake with signed-kila-ota-148830.de6a94ca.zip, then the phone gets stuck in an endless loop on the Android screen. No matter what I do, I can't upgrade above RC33.
I just had the same thing happen although my methods were different.
Basically there is no baseband which means (I think) there isn't
going to be any network activity.
My problem is much worse I'm afraid.
I swapped the Phone.apk from my system/app location,
grabbed another Phone.apk (assuming it was the dialer) because
I liked the theme...so I swapped, rebooted and bam, FC's every second
and then zero network activity.
So I had to use wifi, downloaded rom manager again, and root explorer
and had to reflash the base band...It is flashing right now, and I'm just waiting.
Clockword recovery was borked so I used Sprecovery.

Phone.apk is the dialer, I swap mine out all the time. However, you have to make sure that it's compatible with your rom (i.e. similar framework, same build as yours, so if you have donut, only donut phone.apk will work)
Are you sure that you grabbed it from an actual rom and not from MM theme which has only drawables?

Hey man.
Yup, I'm sure, however when I did the search I didn't think it would
link me to a different forum since I'm running a Moto Droid 1
with BB v0.4 The dialer for that ROM is in contacts.
Anyway my phone technically died.
Was resurrected and now I'm running Liquid's Tangerine Frozen Yogurt 1.4
(which is the fastest/snappiest and most responsive ROM I've ever tried!)
It's also the 2nd ROM I've tried but still.
I had a system update when I started my A500 this morning. I was sure it was the 3.1 update. The update was done correctly and the tab was shut down. When I powered it up I checked the Android version and I didn’t see anything changed, it is still version 3.0.1. The Kernel version is 2.6.36.3 and the build number is 1.139.05_com_GEN1.
Anyone else had the update and if so, what did it updated?

Hi All,
I am the owner of a stock OnePlus 6T, which was recently running the latest version of Android 10 (v10.3.x) and also not rooted.
I was experiencing a jittery graphics issue with one of my favourite games, which was Mad Skills BMX 2. I contacted Turborilla Support in which they isolated the issue to the fact that Mad Skills BMX 2, had an issue with running on Android 10 and they suggested that I roll back to Android 9, which I did.
The rollback to Android 9 did not fix the jittery issue I was experiencing so I attempted to upgrade back to the latest "Official" version of Android 10 but no matter, how I try installing the Android update ZIP file whether it be version 10 or 9, I get to 99% of the installation then the process ends with an error that states "System Update Installation Failed"
I rolled back to Android 9 using the below installation file and I later found that this is beta version of OxygenOS ie OxygenOS Version.... OP6T_O2_Beta_17
Fulldowngrade_wipe_18801_181024_2027_user_MP2_release.zip
I have tried so many different fixes, ranging from OTA updates to downloading various ZIP installs and applying them using the "Local Upgrade" feature but no matter which method I try and keep on experiencing the "System Update Installation Failed" error.
I obviously installed a roll back ROM that has some how stuffed up my phone preventing, now preventing me to upgrade back up to Android 10.
Please help...
Thanks guys
why failed ?

TLDR
Use Oxygen Updater App to download the update then follow the Local Upgrade Method
Oxygen Updater: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater&hl=en
What happened in my case:
I unlocked Bootloader. regretted
Relocked it:
Using MSM Tool Restore Method https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/how-to-update-return-to-stock-oneplus-6-t3870795
I removed the rev_OverSeas~*** file from MSM Tool~.rar EXPORT don't know if that makes a difference or not.
***"rev_OverSeas_190403_2100_release_disable_OTA-BLOCK_Signed_fp1904032100_cve2019-03-01_ufs_9.0.13"
ended up rolling back to 9.
Installed Oxygen Updater: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater&hl=en
It downloaded: OnePlus6TOxygen_34_OTA_024_all_1909112343_9fd6e0057b8747dc.zip
installed using the Local upgrade Method
rebooted
It was still on 9
used Oxygen Updater to check for updates again.
found: OnePlus6TOxygen_34_OTA_024_all_2005052113_26a111bd1040285.zip
Installed the updated.
DONE.

Hey there,
I think the fastboot method https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-6t-t3862516 is still the cleanest method to get things back up and running, saved my device quite some times now.
Have a good one
Hi everyone, I discovered something that might be already known to everyone else out there but me... but probably is not known to many.
There is something everyone should know when updating.... DO NOT rename the update file, or else Oxygen OS will refuse to install it.
In my case, I was using the full OnePlus6TOxygen_34.J.55_OTA_055_all_2107132253_b2cbbb97b4eee.zip file as a local upgrade file from within the "system Updates", which is about 2 gigs in size, to upgrade to OxygenOS 10.3.12. I added the words "OxygenOS 10.3.12" to the end of the file but before the ".zip" extension.... and it would not work and I got the "System Update Installation Failed" message. I thought the file was corrupt. I re-downloaded. I checked file sizes in Windows Properties. I cleared caches. I chanted. I prayed... I thought maybe I need to change religions. Then, when just out of curiosity, I changed the file name back to its original... bingo! I did the filename change from within Android. I wonder how many other people learned this the hard way? This should be in the top 100 things that all android tinker-ers should know. "What You Should Know" for Android/OnePlus. Like an FAQ but the reverse... because an faq assumes you know what to ask, whereas a WYSK tells you what you will eventually find out the hard way . So there is my little contribution, and I hope someone else who was in a similar position finds this and it makes their day All the best You All! - Chad May
