New Icon Please tell me what it is

On my XDA 11 to the left of the signal strenght icon i oftern see a icon that looks like the handset symbile when the phone is making a call it has a circle above it with a cross in it.
you cant click on it, (ell you can but nothing happens) its only there for a fe seconds every now and then.
the book with the xda 11 shows this icon on a few pictures at the beging of the book, but under the icon descriptions the icon is not listed.
anyone got any ideas

Mine sort of worked then it stops, but the little magic icon seems to pop up when it feels like it, the phone dose not have to ring, unless someone is trying to ring but the phone dose not actially ring.
think i also need to uninstall it

why would ANYone want to uninstall it?
did i forget to mention its a PICTURE caller id??
it will only work well if/when u assign pictures to each caller!
otherwise, u'll just get the same incomming call box.

i have the same problem, i have added a few pictures and it sort of works once or twice, and thats it..........

Well, in my case it didn't installed Arabic support, all you have to do is just disagree with EULA agreement and it will skip all installation of Arabic support.

i will download and try it, i will let you know how it goes

Yes i can confirm that it works fine on my I-mate, the only problem is that you will have arabic insalled with it if you don't already have it. but the Called ID Works fine

Hmm I'll have to wait until O2 come up with a fix then, as I can't understand a word of arabic.
Then again it does work perfectly on my machine excepting that it swamps the nofity queue.

BlueTooth Icon not there after softreset!

Hi have have a problem with my Bluetooth ICON not being in the task bar (bottom right), I have norrowed it down to be a today plug in called PocketBreeze (One of the best pices of software I have found for the Pocket PC, take a look: http://www.sbsh.net/products/pocketbreeze/)
It does work 100% on a few friends XDA II's but not on mine.. I have done a hard reset and all. A few people are having this problem, I have spoken to the developer and he is trying to find a way to fix this problem... Does any one know what it might be or how to fix it?
This is what I have found:
Basically if the device is booted up with PocketBreeze loaded I do not get a Bluetooth Icon on the bottom right of my screen, If PocketBreeze is disable when loading the OS I do get the Bluetooth Icon loaded. (once the OS has loaded up I can then load PocketBreeze with no problems works 100% with Bluetooth Icon)

No one has any ideas as to why the Bluetooth Icon would disapeer? could it be some sort of loading order problem or somthing like that? is there a way to try and change this? E.g. if PocketBreeze is loaded before Bluetooth in the registory could I rename PocketBreeze to say ZPocketBreeze so it might load last or somthing like that????

i have b4 , my solution just import the my old REG FILE, may be another expert can point out where is value .

Hi Guys thanks for the reply, I have some friends that have not had this problem and some that have. I have been unable to work out what trigers it to happen as yet...

I don't use pocket breeze but I have the same problem with PI Today from Deje. When this Today plugin is installed, I loose my Bluetooth icon on the Today screen. I had some support mails from the developer but he couldn't solve it.
Somebody suggested that there were too many in the Todayscreen but removing items there (even in the registry) didn't do the trick.
Teguru from tekguru.co.uk came with a handy sollution:
PocketZenPhone which is freeware. It is a plugin for the Today Screen with phone profiles. You can make a profile with bluetooth on. It works great! You can find the PocketZenPhone here on this forum (it has a thread of 102 pages!)

Thanks for the sujestion about the extra today plugin that could fix the problem but I might wait and see if any one else has any ideas as every today plugin I add makes my Pocket Breeze smaller and smaller :-(... Never enough room... LOL

XDA Neo HomeZone app - can someone upload?

Did home zone application ever worked for you? I had my neo with german rom and home zone application never displayed home icon or any visual indication that I was in home zone, when in fact I was in the home zone area. And yes application was loaded.
It worked on my magician (xda mini), but not on prophet (neo).
As far as actual application cab. I've seen it somewhere on this forum an attachment with german ext rom folder. Try that.

here you go. For me it works with the XDAneo. The icon only shows when I klick on the "Phone-Connection" Button. Not the best solution in my opinion, but it works.

Installed the app, works, says that HZ is running, but also "No coordinates received". And no little house anywhere

I've got the same problem.. I think there is something else you have to install from xda neo ext rom.. I've tried installing everything though, it didn't fix the problem. This issue accure after the rom upgrade to WWE from German. But to be honest, the HZ didn't work for me even before upgrade. I didn't have a problem with coordinates though. It just wouldn't display the home zone icon..

Yeah man, doesn't work for me either. What do you think, if I just wrote to O2 customer support and explained that I didn't install their crappy extended ROM, would they be so kind as to give me step by step instructions on how to get my home zone icon?

Not a chance! : ) At least not with O2 in Germany. Sorry for bursting your bubble, man. I’ve called them before, several times intact. I’ve spoken to a few different tech reps regarding this issue on few different occasions. Their only solution is a hard reset! They only go by the basic manual they have for this, where’s the only solution for fixing anything is hard reset. These guys there have no idea how to reset PPC without manual!
On one occasion I’ve asked them about “English WM” ( WWE Rom), since my previous phone (Magician) was in German, (that is when I was plain uneducated about flashing this phones and etc.) and guess what their answer was?! They’ve said that flashing the phone or putting any localizer third party software was going to kill the device without chance of restoration! I mean c’mon, how smart is that? So much for the tech support!
But any way, you try that, may be you’ll have more luck! May be they just wanted to prevent me from half flashing my phone or incurring any other errors to the point of no recovery on my own. But I have half flashed my prophet few times, had RUU stopping with all kinds of errors half way trough the process, leaving the phone with no rom Installed, and still, managed to restore the rom. It only cost me my fingers that I bit of in the process and tons of beer for the recovery : ) any way, good luck! Let me know if you find the solution.
By the way, you can ask them to enable voice indication of home zone. You’ll here Voice indicator “Home” when dialing from home zone. It’s kind of inconvenient, but it’s the only solution for me right now.

Unfortunately, aleksandr is absolutely right. The German O2 XDA support is not just poor - they disinform you! Come on, I know much more stuff about those devices yet than those guys, and I've had a PPC for only a couple of months. The "home" voice is the only solution for me too so far.

Awww, come on! I was kidding, that's why I put a smiley behind my post and used a somewhat sarcastic choice of words!
So for Home Zone voice confirmation I just call the hotline and ask them to enable it? That would work for me I guess. A simple icon would be better though... Sometimes I wish I was smart and could just write my own little programs!

Hey guys. The other day I had nothing better to do then taking apart Neo’s german extended rom content and tried the home zone application on my prophet (wwe, dopod 818 pro rom) I’ve installed Home Zone cab posted by Sauron1978de and then RilGSM patch from the O2 (can be found in german O2 extended rom content. And funny thing it worked! I tried it a hundred times before and it never worked up until now. Just make sure you install rilgsm patch last. It does the soft reset at the end. I have home icon now in my connections notification bubble. Let the pda run for a few minutes until it receives new sms with coordinates and you should be all set. Make sure you have home zone short cut in your start up folder.

No idea. never had this. may be by unchecking "Receive channel list" in Phone settings - More- Broadcast Channels- Settingds.
But by doing this, you also will no longer recieve new coordinates for HZ.
But again, this is MAY BE, as I don't really know what I'm talking about here I don't have this problem to play with.

i too have HZDisplayDataSMP popping up as the active app after waking up. most annoying, though pressing OK or red phone button gets rid of it. still, as i said, annoying. would like to know if there's some way to disable it being displayed, without turning off the "Broadcast Channels"-enabled option, as the HZ app seems to receive and use these broadcasts to enable the HZ display. well, that's my experience, anyways...
so, in short, anyone know how to hide an app from being displayed? or maybe forcing it to always run in the background?

SIM Toolkit doesn't exit

Please help.
My SIM Toolkit works ok but whenever I want to exit, it wont, it just keep on displaying, covering my Today screen and I can't get rid of it unless I do a softreset. And since it stays, when I try using it, it doesn't respond anymore. i think it's technically dead but it just wasn't able to clean-up the user interface as it exits. Although i can still work on my other programs, the thought of it hindering my Today screen is just irritating. I hope you could help me on this guys. It started when I upgraded to SE

i tried hardresetting my xda, without the extrom. just plain PPC SE. and guess what? the SIM toolkit worked just fine. when i restore my backup, it's back to its freezing issue. my problem now is to find the 3rd party program that is causing it to hang-up. i hope it works by gradually removing my programs one by one. tsk tsk tsk, that's not gonna be easy

bought Snap recently and enjoying it a lot, however there are some questions I was unable to find answers for. Could you guys please advise:
Why there's no ClearType (font antialiasing) turned on by default as on my HTC Vox (s710) - how can I turn it on?
REALLY annoying - unread emails and SMS are not displayed in bold! Is there a way to turn this on via registry/smth?
Major for me - I need Russian and Spanish input languages - how can I install them? I've installed some of found .cabs but they are likely for different phones as they mess up special buttons layout;
When I receive SMS, my screen does not lighten unlike on my Vox, is there a way to change it?
I was unable to get my GPS to work. Is there a way to test it not using Google maps to understand 100% if it's just faulty GPS module?
I can't get ActiveSync USB to PC mode to work under Windows 7 - it works only after I change it to DataTransfer mode. Is it a common issue?
I would be really grateful if the group can help with at least some of the questions. Thanks in advance!

First of all, I am no expert, but I can indicate you that :
- My unread messages are displayed in bold, so you got to have an option to set.
- In the profile settings, you can set the type of alarm you want for each type of message ; screen light could be one of them
- you have plenty of programs that use a GPS ; look up any WinMo GPS app on this forum, it doesn't have to be designed for the Snap (any QVGA version will do). Try this thread :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=522915&page=3
I guess you could you a free app, for instance Bing Maps, to test you GPS receiver.
Sync under 7 : if it does work at the en of the day, what's your problem ?

Hi there, i've found a few programs that are free for GPS. I tinker with them, when I question if mine is working and one is jst a must have program. They are; QuickGPS, WMMiniGPS, HTC GPS Tool, GPS Test, and GPS Nut. Like I said they're all free programs and QuickGPS, is probably on you ROM.
