I used USPL for unlocking the cid of my P3350(LOVE)... As it mentioned in the USPL manual it works perfectly till step 12 (that is my phone screen becomes dark).
Here is the problem starts.. When the phone screen becomes dark, my device is automatically disconnected from my PC..Is this normal?
Since this is the 1st time flashing a mobile i was excited, but due to this problem I am very much frustrated.. Plz help me...
Yest it's normal. You will lose the Activesync connection.
Then you have to run the Run update utility that will show next, to uptade your SPL.

this problem happened wid me aswell...i just flashed a ROM couple of hrs back...1stly use XP for flashing ur ROM and yes it is normal tht ur USB connection will be lost, wait for a few secs (10-20) and when the ROM Update Utility starts go ahead wid the wizard and it will flash the ROM

Ya I tried both hard as well as soft reset but same screen is stuck again and agian.Can any one please help me in this regard as I am very new to PDA family.
Ok, first things first:
Since you are new to this, are you sure you preformed a hard reset?
It is done by holding power + camera + comm manager buttons (one on the right, two on the left) and pressing with stylus in the reset hole at the same time.
A message should appear asking you to press 'send' (green phone button) to confirm reset.
If this does not help, you may have a serious problem.
Please answer the following:
Is the device fully charged?
Phone will fail to boot if the battery is too low.
Did you install any software right before this happened?
This should have been resolved by hard reset, but just in case I am asking.
Did you change the ROM, attempted CID / SIM unlock?
This could require more serious measures than I can advise on.
I did exactly the same thing which you mentioned.But even then it is stuck at the same screen.
Ya u r right I unlocked my mobile using a software from eBay.The unlock was successfull and I tried to insert T-Mobile sim, it also captured the signal and I was able to make and recieve calls then after that I wantedly switched off the phone and then tried to start it, there got the problem.

I'm having the same problem with my G4 QTEK S200:
Attempted to upgrade to WM6 Rom using smart1_wm6_pp8mb.exe
After reboot the phone got stuck at the QTEK Screen
Tried Hard Reset (Camera+Power+Comm+Reset) followed the steps with the same results (bricked)
I also tried re-flashing the rom back to the factory one using RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QtekWWE_Ship and ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.exe in Windows Vista with WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center v. 6.0.6873) and the phone in boot loader mode (tri color screen) with working USB cable, with windows firewall disabled and symantec AV disabled as well, RUU keeps saying error 260 "the update utilitiy cannot connect to your pda phone..." .
Do you think I should try this process using XP instead? No matter what i try i keep getting the error 260
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Got it fixed!
it was definately a Vista issue. once i tried it in XP with ActiveSync it worked like a charm and i got my phone back up and running. also used spb backup and restored all my settings.

A rom reinstall on xp solved my problems on that one. retry a couple of times! It may not work the first time! hard reset as well...
Try an official wm5 rom just in case

6. Connect your device with your PC,and run the NVID(no vendor) WM5 rom.
7. The device will be resetted after RUU(rom update utility)finishes
8. Repeat the WM6 upgrade,from STEP 5..

To mention my phone is from orange-UK. I got the orange rom from our FTP site and did the flashing/update what ever you say.But still it is getting stuck at the same IPL/SPL screen. Iam very much worried that I will not get a proper solution for my problem.It will be very grate full if some one resolve my problem.
just seems strange...how did you fix it last time? did it just start working again? A random guess would be that the camera button got liquid spilled on it or is stuck in.
If the camera button is pressed in the phone will go to 3 colour screen every time it is turned on.
It won't do any harm if you try to press/move that button to see if u can "unstick" it, not likely I think but u never know...

I have an unblocked SPV M560 (HTC3300).
Few weeks ago I have installed the B&B rom with WM6 on it. Now I would like to install the adinfinitum rom (http://www.adinfinitum.fr/wm6_gps_m6...d_and_the_ugly) to solve the GPS problem we can have with the M650 but I cannot flash anymore.
Here are some explanations:
After starting "start_uspl.exe" I get the Linux screen then the RUU application starts on my PC. RUU is trying to connect to the device but after few seconds it displays the error "ERROR[260]: Update error".
After this I tried to restart the pda, wait for Activesync connection and try to restart RUU.
This time RUU can connect, I can see the grey screen on the PDA and it starts updating... but after 2% I get a black screen on the PDA and RUU displays the error "ERROR[270] Update error".
I'm now reading this forum since 2 days and saw that other people already had this problem but I did not find any working solution.
Does anyone of you have an idea of what can I do to solve this problem?s

Remove sim and mem card from phone use clear storage to clean phone memory then again try start_uspl.exe wait to 100% finsh do not disconect phone and run then romupdateutility i hope that this can help mine problem is resolved and i flash spv m650 many times.

I finally managed to do the update. The only difference is that when RUU has started after getting the black screen I clicked on the cancel button.
After this I let the terminal with this black screen for few minutes (about 5 minutes) and starts again the RUU application.
And this time is works... don't ask my why, maybe it takes some time to the terminal to be ready to accept connections. At least now SPL 1.1 is installed and I can upgrade. My GPS is now working

I have an O2 XDA Orbit I wanted to upgrade a new ROM to it but I cant get through the 1st step of CID Unlocking the PDA...im running Vista on the laptop tried unlocking numerous times even on XP but i cant seem to unlock...OK now i tried the USPL once more wht happens is tht it goes through the DOS process and when tht is over WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center) looses connection wid da phone but immediately the USB icon pops up in da task bar...now the device is still blank (i mean da screen) and the ROM Update Utility dialog box pops up now 2 questions:
1. shud i wait for the screen to go tri color and den go ahead wid the ROM Update process and If yes then how long shud i supposedly wait (coze i waited for 10mins but nothin happened)?
2. Should I go ahead wid the ROM Update Utility process and the tri-color screen will eventually appear as a result of it? Hello. This is my first time when I'm upgrading my Blackstone ROM and I get some problems so I cannot upgrade it
I think the problem is with active sync, but just I think like that maybe I'm wrong. First of all my active sync cannot connect the phone if the box is ticked for "Enable Faster Data Sync" I tried to reinstall active sync, version still not working. When the box is not ticked the active sync connect the phone but when I go into Rom upgrade setup and try to upgrade the ROM the phone restarts ant freezes in 0% of upgrade, then I get a windows with Connection Error. I take the battery out ant turn on my phone normally again.
Do you know how to solve this error? Or can you tell me other ways which I can upgrade my ROM? I know that its possible to upgrade via memory card but I don't know how. Thank you!
dnlaod any ROM, extract the file then u'll see a file named "ruu_signed.nbh"
change its name to "BLACIMG.nbh" then put it into ur storage card.
Go to bootloader mode then press power button n wait.. after ROM upgrade jus Hard reset it..

have u updated ur SPL... or r u using USPL..
IF u have then just boot into the boot loader and connect to USB and flash..
ignore the RUU saying that u need to be connected in active sync...

This is all explained in the wiki. Before you do anything, best advice I can give you is to read up on SPL, USPL first!!!
Also, if you follow cRaCKwHoRe's guide (see my signature) you cannot go wrong.

I'm still having a problem I have have read a wiki and I follow Dummies guide steps but I'm still having a same problem ( Stuck at 0% )
HSPL1 - Downloads
* (HSPL1a) HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.zip
* (HSPL1b) A 1.56+ based rom- Dutty's XT 3.7 linked here
* (HSPL1c) BlackstoneRUUWrapper.zip
* (HSPL1d) Extract each item to its own folder
HSPL2 - Flash new SPL (1.56.OliNex)
* (HSPL2a) Place your phone into its bootloader.
* (HSPL2b) Run HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.exe from the download in step (HSPL1a) and follow it as normal.
I follow these steps but at the last one my phones just freezes at 0% of update, so I can update to 1.56.OliNex SPL
Is me here doing something wrong or is it something wrong with my phone?

Im trying to have my HTC LEO run an Andriod ROM. I meet all required spec. I got the necessary files on my PC ready to roll. Here 's the problem The WMDC will load phone and information and show that it's connection is on. I go to run MAGLDR1.11 and it works but when it gets ready to start updating the progress stays at 0%,the WMDC disconnects and the MAgrdl 1.11 ask me do a recovery.
( plz note that the tri color screen does come up but that's when my phone is disconnected.the HTC progress bar stays at zero, until i take battery out.
Please can someone help with this cause, I have tried everything...I mean everything..

It's normal to lose ActiveSync / WMDC connection when you flash and it is not needed. Read the Noob guide for Flashing NAND roms (link in my signature). You are getting stuck at 0% because you don't have HSPL 2.08.hspl loaded. You've tried everything except reading the instructions
OK can you give some steps in order to set this up dont see link that your talking. Man you would be my hero if that was it.
