Motherboard or Volume slider problem??? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

I have the past months problem with the external speakers.
No sound at all, only when I twist or press the part of the motherboard where the Volume slider is located, I might have a sound for a while, but nothing permanent.
I have already applied the phone jack hack but no success for me.
It seems like the Volume slider or a connection from the motherboard is chipped.
Any ideas? Has anyone came up with this type of problem?

HTC3600 has stopped to make any sounds..

Hello,
i have a problem with my device: it has stopped to make sounds (as the click on selections, the music from a mp3, the ring of a call) i can hear the voice of the speaker in a phone call. But i can listen to everything if i put the headset on. It seems like the device is switched in "headset mode" turning off the main speaker. When i plug and unplug the headset i can hear (sometimes) the sound to come back, just to shut off the second later.
I've tried soft and hard reset and i've even installed the news rom: once installed it seems to work properly.. but this morning is "mute" again..
anyone would help this poor guy?
thanks in advance!
Execus me for this question, but I have to exclude the obvious. Did you try raising the volume utilizing the speaker icon on the top bar?
The volume is at the max and all the sounds are enabled.

Are you using any siftware which might conflict with the OS?
Test the volume with no software installed and BOTH sliders at the maximum (UP)position, also bear in mind that the installed windows media player has a volume slider of its own.
Sadly not: the problem is still there even after an hardware reset, without any other software installed. And if i plug the headset i can hear everything, so the volume is up.
It seems like the device is finding the headset even if they are not plugged, thus turning the main speaker off.
...maybe a broken loudspeaker...
I'm afraid to say this , but before to have my trinity I experienced a similar problem with my old JAMin , were the loudspeaker suddenly stopped working and only with a new one ( loudspeaker) I recovered the correct " voice" of the device.
in this case it seems to be the same , but to be sure you should be able to mesure the impedance of it ; normally should be around 30 ohms ...
when mine was broken , it was completely "open" ....
but to do this you have to open the device !!!!
I'm sorry , any other idea...

From what you say i think we can safely rule out the loudspeaker being damaged(you wouldn't have been able to hear anything ,not even for a second), it's more than likely that your problem has to do with the miniusb audiojack which might be shorting out,the only thing you can do before taking the device to a service center is insert a miniusb cable in the jack and carefully move it sideways and up and down, this might resolve the issue.

And... sucking the jack... although this might gives a too strong picture of how much you love your trinity
Thanks a lot,
moving the jack seems to solve the issue sometimes..
I was wondering: are there any settings on the registry to avoid the use of the headset: maybe if i can set the device to never use the headset the problem with the switch could be bypassed...
lost sound
well my trinity just did the same thing.
Was working fine one minute, then suddenly no sound. Plug in the headset and it works fine, but without the headset I can connect to a call but i can not hear the other person and strangely they cannot hear me. Seems like my phone is stuck in headset mode somehow.
Haven't done a hardrest yet, but i guess thats next . . .

No Sound Out of Speaker Unless...

I dropped my 8525 this morning. It didn't seem like it hit anything very hard.
Now I get no sound at all out of the speaker - including the phone ring tone - if the stylus is pushed all the way in. I can pull the stylus out about 1/8" and get the sound back, but then it won't fit in the case.
Do any of you have any ideas on how to fix this?
*UPDATE*: Edited because I've now found that it's not just the speakerphone.
I have a similar problem but i don't think i dropped the phone. (well, I've dropped the phone, a bunch of times actually, but not recently.) It just seems like the problem showed up out of nowhere. I tried soft and hard reset, updated the radio and SPL and ROM but nothing has worked so far.
I'm not sure if this may just be a hardware problem because i get no sound at all (no ring tone, alarm, touch pad sounds, sync sounds... etc. ) But when i plug in the headset i can hear everything just fine.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Simple - known and posted about problem. Your rear speaker connection is loose. It just needs pushed back on. (and by the way it's near the stylus end taht's why fiddling with the stylus makes it come on)
Here is a link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2001027&postcount=5 You'll see a pic of the rear speaker and it's white block and red/black wires.
In short the rear casing needs to be removed and connector pushed back on.
You may or may not find the stylus rubber block is loose. If so PM me and I'll tell you how to fix it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299104 just to show the stlus rubber can come loose.

Low In Call volume issue hardware fix.

The screw faintly circled in red holds the speakerphone and camera assembly in place. I noticed that the volume when using the phone normally, not on speaker or with a headset, started to decrease about a month ago and tried every software tweak and fix to no avail. Yesterday I noticed a rattle in the phone. I took it apart and that screw had come loose. It seems that it holds the earpiece speaker in place and pushes it towards the front of the phone ensuring good volume. I tightened the screw and my volume increased immediately. It is a small phillips head. Hope this helps anyone else having the volume issue.

[Q] new mic and volume buttons?

hi guys, i have a mt3g which runs fine, apart form the mic has gone muffled (sounds like im talking through a cloth) and the physical volume control buttons are pretty much broken.
i heard the mic problem was a rom problem, so i flashed a million different roms but no luck
the volume buttons arent such a problem right now as yet have been replaced by an app, but the mic is what really needs repairing/replacing.
ive been looking all over the net for replacement parts but i have had no luck.
anyone recommend anywhere, where i can get these particular parts?
thanks!

Sound issue - loose connection?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody else has had this issue.
My sound sometimes goes really quiet, often when I remove the cable after charging. This leads me to having to reinsert the cable and wiggle it about a bit to get the volume to jump back up... Then carefully unplug.
Sometimes I can fix by pressing about on the lower grill of the phone with my thumb, until it bumps up the sound again.
I thought it was just the speaker, but I was listening to music with earphones earlier and I swear it randomly and suddenly just dropped as well?!
That I cannot live with as my inner audiophile will get angry ?
Is this a common hardware issue? Any suggestions on possible fixes?
Just now I thought a video had no sound as I was watching.
I then pushed in the middle of the bottom of my phone and sounds appeared (quite low volume)
Kept pressing until the volume bumped up considerably.
This is a problem that makes me want to buy a new phone.
Nobody else had this?? If there's any easy fix I would rather do that than purchase a new phone ?
