Are the two commonly posted ROMS i.e. ThaiHugo and i00 GSM specific and if so, what ROM should a CDMA Sprint user flash with after liberating Snapvue ? Any help would be appreciated.
CDMA ROM needed
I need any flashable CDMA Shift rom. I am stuck on the bootloader screen and a hard reset does not get Snapvue back on. I also have no idea if I can use Hard SPL or any of the GSM roms posted here. Any attempts leads to an error. I am able to flash a CDMA rom but I still end up in the bootloader screen.
Any help would be appreciated from any CDMA Rom users or the Shift project (if they have ripped or cooked) a CDMA rom.

I currently have a xv6900 and I have the "newest" verizon radio. I put newest in quotes because I have Radio 3.37.78 . I've seen other radios that are higher but they are on different Carriers. Can/should I upgrade and would it have any adverse effects?
Can you? Yes. Should you? not necessarily... just because the number is higher, doesn't mean it is newer. I would stick to what you've got for a radio unless a newer radio comes out that actually fixes or changes something.
If you're thinking about flashing custom roms, then upgrade. If not, then stay with what you got.
help with my internet didnt know where to post
so i have htc xv6900 from verizon. i have it flashed for cricket and the internet was fine but i love messing with phones lol so i ended up flashing my rom to the wm 6.5(sprint htc touch pro) and had to get a program to get the unlock code to get into my ##778# and the info is right but my data connection is not going through #777 which it was at first so is there a program or app that i can run to connect or sprints code or jus something to get internet back to my phone thank you sorry if i post it in the wrong place
I have a Verizon XV6900 also, same radio as yours and i am using custom roms just fine, didn't need to upgrade radio, but also i am not screwing with GPS setting either.
OK, so here's the deal. I am currently testing the Sprint network as my AT&T experience has bottomed out. I have the TP2 and am desperately trying to fall in love, but under the pretty clothing, it's still a WinMo device. I would love to put a new ROM on there, but with my still considering returning it, I can't permanently change the ROM which FINALLY brings me to my question: is there a stock ROM that I can use to put it back to factory specs if I change the ROM and decide to return it?
ThankS!
isn't sprint CDMA?
If it is then you can't flash roms on it period, as there is currently no hard spl for cdma tp2's.

So you can't flash different ROMS on CDMA phones? I've been on GSM forever, so I know nothing about CDMA.
In Alaska we have ACS Wireless and Alaska Digitel for CDMA service. Both will have the HTC Hero by the end of the month. Are the custom ROMs on this site pre-programmed to only work with Sprint or will they work on any CDMA Hero (provided you know the programming details of your network)?
You can use a ROM from a different network. I am using a sprint rom on my phone and its not on a sprint network. There could be side effects though so you may want to research before hand. If you can gain root on your phone prior to putting a different rom on your phone and install the RA recovery ron, you can run a nandroid backup and then if it didn't work, you could restore your original rom. Just don't flash a GSM rom to a CDMA phone or vice versa.
Hello all,
I am attempting to install the stock T-Mo US ROM onto a T-Mo UK G1. I have been using it for about a year with the dev phone ROM and it works fine on the T-Mo US 3G. Now I've switched to a different phone and I want to sell the G1, but I want to install the stock T-Mo ROM so it will have access to OTA, full market, and carrier customizations.
When I try to flash the RC29 DREAMIMG.nbh it gives me an error, probably because the phone has a different hardware ID (DREA110 for UK vs. DREA100 for US). I have tried installing it from the dev phone bootloader, I have gone back to the stock bootloader, tried using a goldcard, I'm hitting a dead end now.
Any suggestions? It seems there must be some way to bypass the hardware ID check since the dev phone ROM and customized ROMs will work.
Thanks in advance!
P.S. It will load the UK RC7 ROM, so I'm fairly certain it is just the hardware ID that is the limitation.
I finally got it working. If anyone else is trying to do this, use HardSPL and it will work fine.

<I tried to post the links to these Telus ROMs but since I am brand new to this forum, the system will not allow me to post external links. Email me and I will send you the links.>
Here's a link to a Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM developed by Tinkerbell over at PPCKitchens.org. Scroll down to the bottom and you'll see the Telus version. Only one minor issue as far as I can see - when you choose getting started, the print size is huge (you have to scroll back and forth and up and down to read it (Tink (the developer) is looking into this). She also put together a 6.5.x ROM for Telus which you can find at this link.
These ROMs are for Bootloader v2.02 on Telus (you need to make sure that this is your version before you flash) - to find out your Bootloader version, press and hold the Power button + the Record button + Reset (use your stylus to press Reset at the bottom of your phone) until the screen goes grey - down at the bottom of the screen, you'll see the bootloader version.
