hey guys

sounds like you have poor internet or just wait facebook servers might be busy
Quick question do you think it will be possible to install the yahoo messenger that this phone bring into the Nexus one? or will be totally uncompatible?
I think it is possible, because its android too...
The stock rom doesn't come with Yahoo Messenger. So it's not a Touchwiz app, which means it will run on most other android phones.
I find the dedicated clients to be tolerable but not that reliable. The gtalk apps seem to not update status properly and the yahoo app seems to drop connections without warning.
I am looking at apps like mundu and im plus. The yahoo and gtalk dedicated apps supposedly have push technology does anyone know if the above mentioned services use push technology?
Any other recommendations would be appreciated.
My favorite is 'ebuddy' (totally free). It's an all-encompassing IM app that supports nearly every protocol. Check it out.
If they ever release a client, Beejive (pronounced 'Bee Hive' for whatever reason) is probably my favorite thing in the entire world on the iPhone. Hopefully, Android's market share convinced them to port it over.
eBuddy, also. Does it all, even ICQ fire the old people.

Thanks for your recommendation. I think eBuddy messenger is best choice, who want to use MSN messenger on HTC Desire.
MSNTALK is the best! allows grp convos! Theres also trillian
Mercury MSN is THE BEST EVER!!, send images/sounds, changes your nick/status/image, offline chat... [and it's FREE!! (or donate)]
In background practically have no CPU consumption
Is Mercury MSN is available on the Android Market? Can you share the link. After concluding all the instant messaging application for my Android phone, i think eBuddy messenger is the best option for me. Because it is the best solution for multiple accounts e.g MSN, Yahoo, GTalk, Facebook, AIM and MySpace. You just need one messenger to log-in to all of the above accounts.
Read more & install eBuddy Messenger.
Did you search in the market?

ebuddy messenger... the only one with push that works (trillian doesnt work.. at least for me)

For my the best app msn is Epinephrine (before MSN TALK)
Trillian is the right choice.

You've gotta go to the battery saving mode for C2DM push to work
Trillian and Beejive both have some annoying little bugs, but they are by far the best of anything I have tried. Beejive is a little on the costly side, but I used it back before my first android phone when I was a bit of an iSheep and it was very solid. They seem to actively develop it, though I haven't seen an update for a while now, which is disappointing when you drop that sort of coin on a mobile app.
I tend to swap between the two based on whatever mood I am in on the day, but I hope beejive will one day be as smooth as it is over in iphoneland.
Hi,
I've been running the awesome americandroid gingerbread os in my hd2 for a couple.of weeks now and apart from.the known problems, this thing is sweet!
I have a general question that if can't figure out. How exactly does androids Facebook notifications work on gingerbread. I don't get any push notifications. I do get notified when i get a message but not when I receive status updates. I have doubled checked the settings and everything seems correct.
Anybody else having the same problem..... any obvious solution that I may have missed?
Regards,
Asmd.

Perhaps the Facebook app is not fully compatible with gingerbread? However, I prefer to use facebook mobile on the browser. Much better in my opinion because you get to see everything at once like newsfeed & any notifications.

There's a way to get Facebook notifications working on your droid from the Native FB app. Check this post out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20189736#post20189736
If you don't have access to a BB I've heard that it works with an iPhone as well. I didn't have either and went to Blackberry's website and downloaded an emulator for the Storm 2 and from my PC was able to achieve the same results. Works like a charm now and all my notifications are coming in faster than email or even when I have FB running on my laptop sometimes the notifications are even faster to the phone then when they pop up on the screen.
