Windows Live Mobile - Push mail?

I never tried Windows Live Mobile before and saw it came with the latest Black Pro 2.0 so I been experimenting around with it since I have an hotmail account.
Windows Live isn't that all bad and it even syncs contacts with your hotmail contacts so I was wondering if it does push mail becasue I haven't seen any setting for it or a setting to check mail every x minutes etc on it.
I have search on internet to find docs or instruction but all I found was "Join the beta trial" etc on it.
I am also trying to figure out how to get MSN Weather on my mobile too since beta site said it avaiable as well too.

Did you really check your settings?
Under Menu >> Options >> Sync Schedule
It clearly should say: "As they arrive."

It was set to manual but I also found it at http://blogs.msdn.com/mayurk/archiv...dows-live-hotmail-and-windows-mobile-6-0.aspx
so I change it to as item arrive.

It not saving the setting as item arrive when I go back to check the setting after ticking it "Done" is that normal?

Windows live hotmail problem

Recently bought a Touch HD and managed to sync my hotmail and the messenger on it. The very next day, it came up with the error message when I clicked Send/Receive "Windows Live was unable to establish an Internet COnnection. Pls check your internet settings and make sure that u have access to data services under your billing plan."
I managed to use Fring as an alternative for messaging, but is there a solution to the email problem?

did you check your internet settings? did you softreset your phone? if you did both, delete the account and then try again

What are the settings I should be looking out for? My internet explorer works fine on gprs. How do i delete the account? It seems im unable to do so.

when opening the account picker go over the account you want to delete and click the menu buttons in the bottom right and select delete. if this option is not there if suggest you erase all data using the clean memory link in the settings menu of your phone. then you can input your account again and start from scratch

I uninstalled a chinese font patch. I was just trying my luck..coz i found out that others were having the same problem with the CE software supplied with the phone. Even though the font patch i was using wasnt CE, it still prevented windows live from working. I guess I got to do without the Chinese software

MSN and HD2 - Contacts

When I first got my HD2 and logged into MSN, and then went in to People > All People I could see all my MSN contacts
Is there a way to stop that from happening...I just want the contacts of people I sms and Call.
Also in MSN itself it imported all my deleted contacts from years ago, people I no longer want to speak too or have in my friends list, is there a way to clear these out on mass? I was hoping I could just delete the entire group they belonged too, but it seems I have to do them one at a time I have a lot of them

I too have this issue and want to get rid of them all! Still searching the forum for anwsers...did you find any?

menu > change appearance > menu > account options > 2. switch account
this will delete the current profile, next time you set it up remember to untick the box which clearly says sync contacts
do not just delete the contacts from all people as they will dissapear out of msn too!

I see! That is a bit silly. The setting shouldnt be final!

[Q] newb help

hey guys i just an htc hd2 and the person i bought it from already had android froyo on the phone and it works perfect. the problem is it is still setup with his google account so i cant access the market on the phone. is there a way to delete his account and insert mine or do i need to remove the hacked android software and start over from windows mobile and load new android software. this is the first time i have dealt with any kind of hacking on a phone so any help that you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

What you have to do is either load a fresh Android ROM on there (pretty easy to find) or just register another name on top of his by going to Setting > Accounts & Sync and add a new google account. Try that out and see if it works

Hi there! I have same android froyo as you, Just open Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync. You should find his account there under [Manage accounts]
Click on it, then choose [Remove account].
after that go ahead and setup your own account.
ps: You dont have to uninstall Android nor start from windows mobile! maybe the market is not supported in your home country (like mine) or maybe its just the account, so good luck!

[Q] Choosing contact name in mango

Hi guys,
This might be a very simple thing but somehow I am missing it. I have linked 3 accounts for a contact(linkedin, facebook and windows live). But my focus is selecting the name from windows live as default. Anyway to change it to something from another account say facebook? All I can see in the pencil icon is to manually edit the name. Is this the only solution, to manually edit the names to that in facebook or linkedin?

You cannot edit facebook and linkedin profile. They are read only.

Unfortunately, there isn't a straightforward way to do this correctly and solve your issue. All this is due to people syncing their contacts to Windows Live and using WP7. MS has suggested we shouldn't sync contacts on WP7 using Windows Live. I personally had issues while doing so and I switched to Gmail/Outlook and never had an issue since.
Settings/application/people
in "filter my contact list" deselect Wildows Live
this is known to create issues.
Alternatively at the bottom, tap "Windows Live" and check if you can un/check "sync contacts". If you can't you have to do it on a PC (browser).

Ok will try to migrate my contacts from windows live to google.. Hope that will solve the issue.. thanks guys..

Goto people>Select settings>Filter My contacts.. Here you can select any account.
You link contacts too by going into a specific contact and click on the middle option(looks like a chain). By doing this you can reduce the number of contacts being displayed!! Hope this helps

No argue here. However, syncing contacts to Windows Live is not something recommended for WP7. I've had several issues myself and also others had reported problems syncing (contacts reverted to the online list etc). A quick search for contact sync issue reveals several threads on MS Answers: here, here, here, here etc...
