The version of opera you're using doesn't support HW keyboard. Take a look at this thread for alternative versions to install: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=511857

Hello all blackstone owners,
I'm currently a Kaiser owner. I'm thinking about going to the Blackstone. But I was wondering if the lack of a D-Pad would not be a problem for me.
For exemple, if I open a file explorer, to browser the files (up and down) I use the D-Pad. So I'm not obliged to use the stylus.
How does it work with the blackstone when you have to browser files, are you obliged to use the stylus ?
Note : the files explorer is just an exemple (I know Resco Explorer can help in browsing with the fingers), I 'm wondering the same question when you need to browser your notes for exemples, or anything else ...
Thanks !
With the Touch HD you can scroll in the file explorer with your finger as well!
Do you mean that you can browser the files using your fingers in the integrated microsoft file explorer ?
Can you also do that with all other applications like "notes" for exemple ?
Thanks
You can't scroll in notes with your finger (it just draws a line where you would like to scroll), but in every other application it works fine.
cursor keys
I solved this with "AE Button Plus" mapped keys.
You see in spanish at this address: http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?p=160176
Had a Qtek S100 and a HTC Tytn before my HD and was a big button user
Getting used to all touch on the HD took about 2 hours
So it's fine by me !
Thanks to all of you for your answers, I guess I'll need to try it by myself... But it will take months before I can touch one in a shop...
Hi just got the touch hd and i have the unplesent surprise to se that the only keyboard i can use is ABC....all the others dont work(not even t9) also i dont have Google maps instaled(is there any way to download it manualy on pc and transfering it to phone) and the msn dosent wana connect and youtube videos 90% ofthem dont load and give conection error
my phone ROM version is 1.14.401.3(22273)wwe
wat should i do?are these good enough resons to send it back and request a proper version?
Thank you
First, it would be helpful if we knew your network and ROM. You can try to reconfigure your network settings using the AT&T's settings for the HTC Fuze on www.wireless.att.com in support (assuming you are on AT&T). My default config had passwords for MediaNet that were not needed. It messed up MMS, and slowed Internet connections.
Second, Google maps can be downloaded from www.google.com/gmm. I had to use IE to download because Opera 9.5 did not allow Google to recognize the device. Also, Live Search is a good alternative.
Third, there is only one Keyboard really available and it is the HTC software keyboard. T9 is a toggle on the software keyboard between ABC and T9. Simply tap it once.
thanks man for the anwser.....its my first winndows mobile so im little confused
one more question.......i cant seem to be able to put my mp3's as ringtone....wen i go setings and sound in touchflow and i click ringtone the only ringotones that apear are the default ones.....how can i set up mp3's as ringotnes....
thank you
I have a very annoying issue with Opera Mobile build 15954, i have just installed the program, but now there's a glitch on the hardward keyboard.
i.e. i can type in the entry boxes with onscreen keyboard, but not with the hardware keyboard..
any tweaks that im suppose to do in the config?
thx!
have the same problem.. any one to help
same goes to me,
it always back to web screen whenever i type something in the entry box with hardware keyboard.
is there any solution?
thank you before
You'll have to download the Opera version that came with the Xperia, you can find it here
Or download the new 9.7 beta opera
cheers
tq sverweij for ur info, it work.
I just installed this, and i must say its much nicer than the default that comes with the TP2. But theirs a few things.
1. I cannot find the program to launch it again after i close it. When i look under the drop down of programs running, all thats listed is "Java FX", which when clicked, does take me back to the browser. Is their not its own icon? Or is their a way to link the new one to the "internet" tab in Touch flo?
2. Is their any way to keep it from poping up its own software keyboard?
[edit] Ok.. someone posted this solution::: Disable Inline Editing in Settings\Advanced...
3. When i type in the address bar, it sometimes, double types letters. Very annoying.
never mind
beta 5 unfortunately has problems with switches from landscape to portrait and vice versa.
when i pull out the keyboard in oder to type something of course the screen rotates. In about 50% of all cases the browser UI does not follow the rotation, but the screen just turns white.
opera 4 has no problems with screen rotations.
Java
Posted this question in another thread too but seems more appropriate here:
I came from the Mogul to the TP2 so I'm not so sure how to install and run Opera Mini 5. I'd like to try it, but do you still need a Java applet launcher to run it? Or can you just run it on the TP2 if you put the .jad and/or .jar files somewhere? Thanks.

Follow the instructions on the opera website:
"To try Opera Mini 5 beta, simply visit the address m.opera.com/next, using your phone’s default Web browser."
in case the OEM of your phone pre-installed a suboptimal java runtime environment (or even none) try this:

LOL, that link redirects us to this topic...
That said, I also have some minor problems with the new opera mini 5 beta. It look way more slick then the standard version of Opera, but there are a few things:
1. Just like Lyian stated, I as well hate the opera interface keyboard popping up and would really like to turn off this feature.
2. When I slide out my keyboard, the java applet notices this action and tells me to restart opera mini 5 :S (using JBlend, standard application deliverd on my tp2)
3. I would really like to have the possibility to make a shortcut to opera mini beta 5 in the start menu.
4. Everytime I restart the mini-browser, it asks me if it may connect to the network. I would really like to have the mini-browser never ask me this again.
Now I do remember that there were some solutions to my little problems mentioned above. With the old opera mini there were some tweaks that offered an solution to point 3 and 4, but I can't find them anywere. Does anybody know if they work as well for mini 5, and where I can find them? Does anybody have an solution to the other problems?
Thanks in advance,

use jbed instead of JBlend. JBlend can not handle screen rotation at all (no matter whether the java application can or not).

use jbed and make a link in the startmenu folder to the jbed executable with the parameter "-run s0_".

download the signed version of opera mobile
When I use the keyboard for typing an URL it results in a URL like xda-dddddevelopersssss.com or xdaaaaa-devvvvvelopers.commmm. I don't have any problems with the keyboard in other programs.

I just started playing with Mini 5, and it's freaking awesome with esmertec jbed. It's got the speed of Opera Mini, but it has some degree of flicking and it can copy/paste text! Mini 4.2 allowed you to copy and paste text when you switched to text entry mode, but you had to change the keyboard to the old full keyboard to utilize CTRL C and CTRL V. I can now highlight text on pages. Plus tabbed browsing! Remarkable.
I looked for a signed version of 5, but I couldn't find it (I was able to install the signed version for 4.2). Is there a trick I'm not aware of?
Mini 5 works for some of the forums I visit. I was unable to post in the Yuku forums with 4.2, and it would format oddly unless I was in mobile view. Screen transitions are a lot snappier.
I've never had any luck with screen orientation transitions with Opera Mini, so it's not a big deal for me. I'm used to using it exclusively in portrait mode anyway.
I think I've found myself a new browser. Anyone have any tips or tricks to share?
ETA: I'd love to get the flicking speed higher.
Does anyone know how to get the clock/time to show on the top border/frame? It's on Opera Mini 4.2 and it'd be cool to have it on this browser also. Thanks in advance !
HTC Ozone - Same as others, cannot use keys to accept the EULA. Cannot arrow down to "click" accept.
If this build is not "Smartphone compatible", someone needs to get on the marketing department and start sending some corrections. It's being posted *everywhere* that this is both Touch and Non-touch compatible.
Touchscreen & keypad (http://www.opera.com/mobile/) - It's even on your web page.
So, where's the beef?
you can install the fake cursor software and do what u want to do....BUT
i have tried the Opera 10 on my HD and guess what????NO flash support...still...i mean what the hell....SKYFIRE has that and works perfectly on all devices...Give that a try
What cursor software is this?
It's called FakeCursor. U will find it here:

Opera 10 beta 3 works now lawlessly on HTC Snap.
Only annoying thing is the keyboard which is useless.
Somebody managed to use the keyboard to scroll for example?
