- create in the registry
1. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC and add new key NaviSW
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\NaviSW and add new string value
Value name: MiddleLayerDLL
Value data: NaviSWMiddle_TomTom.dll
- after that take a Soft Reset
All done but when tapping navigate to my pda hangs & I've to soft reset
are theese settings corrects?
Value name: MiddleLayerDLLValue data: NaviSWMiddle_TomTom.dll
thanks

I can confirm that this works - at least it did for me with TT7!
TomTom should already be running in the background for this to work. This is very annoying as who wants TomTom running in the background.

Hi,
Is this true?
As a check I've just performed a soft reset to ensure that nothing is running and then selected the M2D Footprints tab followed by Menu -> Navigate To.
TT7 then fired up (indicated by the TT7 splash screen) before going off to look for a valid satellite signal.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think that TT7 wasn't running in the background until the menu selection launched it.

huh, well, i guess i had something wrong with my setup then.
my tomtom wont's start,
when i select with footprint an image and then Menu -> Navigate To seems that somthing wants to start ( windows loading logo appears ) but after a few seconds all is out of work , i've to reset the phone

what version are you using of tomtom
Hi
I use TomTom versione 7.915 (9196) from IOLITE.
Previous versione work ok (7.910).
Thanks
Daniele
Has anyone managed to get TomTom 7.915 working correctly with any version of Footprints on a Polaris ?
EDIT: OK so it seems TomTom 7.915 just will not work correctly with Footprints. Turns out Tomtom 7.910 DOES WORK perfectly, the only thing you are losing out on is 'navigate > to > photo' in Tomtom 7.915 (but who needs it because that was footprints is for)
I have attached, what should be, the HTC version from Diamond (slightly modified to work with other devices).
EDIT 2: Ok so I cant seem to upload the file. I have saved it to my 4shared here

Hi !
I installed the GPS-enabled ROM - and via RegistryEditor the GPS Icon in the Control Panel.
But when I install TomTom it doesn`t display the build-in GPS Receiver.
So I installed the TomTom Update for PocketPCs - then - the built-in GPS receiver is there - but TomTom is updated in a way that I have to
activate the maps again -
Is there a way to use the GPS-receiver for TomTom - but without updating TomTom - respectively activate the maps again ??
thx

If you activated your maps with the "old" version of tomtom, it should be no problem to activate them again with the "new" version, should it?
But you can use the GPS with the "old" version, you just have to select "other NMEA" and it will work...
tomtom hangs - with NMEA GPS
Hi !
I tried to...
I selected "other NMEA GPS" - 115000 bauds - COM9...
then I have to agree to the terms...after pressing "I AGREEE" it hangs and closes the application.
does anyone have an idea ??
thx

you type postcodes in the CITY box mate
i've got full 7 digit postcodes in uk, BUT not for 2008.4 map only 2008.1
Igo8 will do 7 digit postcode
to get the 7 digit postcode search working in IGO8 do the following
1: download the postcode enabled map from here --> http://rapidshare.com/files/166750423/UnitedKingdom7PPC.rar.
2: after putting it in the map folder in your igo8.content/maps folder start the app
3: when running click find and in the box UNDER United kingdom, the one where you normally put the city put your post code, but (and this is important) you MUST put a space in it, eg DL17 2HR . if you try and put DL172HR you will only get as far as DL172 then it will jump to the 5 digit address.
I have this running on a Touch HD with full postcode search and it works a treat with 3D landscapes, looks very nice.
Have fun

Hi,
I've installed and using the IGO R8.3 with my Touch diamond device. Use this sys.txt file Should work.
I have onCourse, and it's working but voice doesn't seem to work at all.
Want to try iGo. However, don't know where to get the required cabs/files, etc. Any help?
I recently added the Navipanel to the start menu and found that it launches Telenav instead of Garmin. I found some threads using search regarding editing the navipanel but nothing worked for Garmin. That being said these are the settings that i used to get it to launch through NaviPanel.
I have Garmin installed on the SD card and went into my device using file explorer. I then copied the Garmin folder to the Program files folder.
following that i did the following in total commander:
open HKCU>Software>TeleNav
I clicked on AppPath and edited the contents to:
\Program Files\Garmin\Garmin Mobile XT.exe
I then did a soft reset.
This is what happens when using NaviPanel tabs now
Go Home: Asks to enter home address(i did so in Garmin but it still stays the same)
Enter Home Address: opens Garmin
Recent: opens Garmin
Footprints: Opens footprints app (i have no footprints set up, will test)
Navigation: opens Garmin app, i have to double press sometimes
Besides that I only experienced a delay when checking to see if the Telenav app still opens in the Programs section.
*****I am a noob and usually just follow the instructions on this site to mod my windows phones. That being said i got lucky playing with the registry settings and take no responsibility if the above is followed*****
can you tell me how you added the navipanel to the start screen?
Sorry for not being any assistance on your problem.
i used file explorer my device windows folder scroll down to navipanel should be a 249k file hold down until uget an option to copy then scroll up to the start menu folder go in there then select the programs folder then menu, edit, paste once u go back to the start menu it should be there pm me if u need assistance cuz i typed this on my hd2
Bump
Just wanted to see if anyone has tried this and gotten further than me.
Thanks for the tip, works great.
I didn't move Garmin to program files, I just left it on the SD card. I guess the only issue there is to fix is the home button, but no big deal since it launches Garmin anyways. BTW, footprints works fine.
Cool, did the same with mine. Only thing is it doesn't exactly do the FUNCTION that the buttons are suppose to do. I guess anyone that knows a little more about programming might be able to get it. There has to be a more direct path to SEARCH instead of just opening the gps programs main exe.

One more, easier, workarround if you want to open Garmin XT from NaviPanel.
I had CoPilot (on HD2). Install Garmin (I did it on Storage Card).
Then:
1. Find Garmin XT.exe in Program files (on device)
2. Copy it to any TEMP folder on your device.
3. Rename it to copilot.exe
4. Copy it to device\program files\copilot and replace original one (make a copy of original, just in case)
Thats all
All mentioned circumstances will be the same:
"This is what happens when using NaviPanel tabs now
Go Home: Opens Garmin
Recent: opens Garmin
Footprints: Opens footprints app
Navigation: opens Garmin app"
Greetings
Arunas
Thanks for the tip, not ideal but better than nothing
navipanel lniking to garmin
Hi Cozhyn,
I tried ur method and its works perfect except 2 glitches.
when you open foot prints or phone they open fine but when u click the back button after opening it the navipanel freezes and gets kind of screwed.I have to soft rest it to get it to normal.
It absolutely runs garmin.
Please let me know if you have any solution for this problem.
thanks
Suri

Navipanel ?

Juan
The problem I have is that I do have Navipanel installed but no Copilot.
I installed Garmin on SD but don't know how to link it to Navipanel.

You don't have to use Total Commander (PHM or other regeditors should work), but if you want to use TC you need to navigate to the root directory (hit the "\" in the top right), then look in the "\\plugins" folder, then in "registry"...from there you'll see "HKCU" (shorthand for "HKEY_CURRENT_USER")
Thanks, I have no copoilt, will try to add garmin
Thanx for the clarification.
I can now use TC to To get into HKCU Thank you But i still cant find Tele Nav under software
I do have it installed ANY HELP?

Why use NaviPanel at all, Go to the link below.
I posted Garmin Mobile XT Auto Rotate, Besides, Navipanel is useless. Pointless to have two programs open.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7389344
I know this is not the real key forum for Navis but I thought I give it a try as my prob could be related with the OS.
And I know this device is not in the compatibility list for TomTom Navigator 7 but usually the TT Navi7 works on Win 5 and Win 6 devices.
I have:
- an HP ipaq (model hw6915) with
- Windows Mobile WM 5 (searched this forum for a Win 6 ROM and it looks like some smart guys are currently working on that so I could not yet give it a try with Win 6)
According to the ipaq user manual, the device has this GPS receiver installed:
- GL20000 from Global Locate. In case a manual setting is required for a software, the ipaq manual mentions to set it to COM 7 and a BAUD rate of 57600.
Here is my problem:
I had installed Navigator 6 and it worked fine – but with outdated maps as the new maps require Navigator 7. So after some years of using the old Navigator 6 I installed now the TomTom Navigator 7.917.9186 plus the recent Europe 2GB maps.
The new Navigator 7software starts fine and accepts the new map, but it does not recognize the internal GPS antenna. I receive the message “no GPS devide”. Then I tried a bit and switched (in TomTom Navigator settings) from the “internal” to “other NMEA GPS receiver” and tried different Baud rates. With this setting the Navigator does receive GPS signal – once in a while (1 signal about every minute – just enough to locate the current position but not enough to really navigate).
So obviously the Navigator 7.x does not get correct GPS signals from the built-in antenna (while the older Navigator 6 always did).
Oh and I tried a free utility called GPS Proxy, which copies GPS signals from the inernal antenna to another (virtual) COM port, and I configured TT Navigator 7 to read out from that virtual COM port the GPS proxy is sending its data to. No success.
Any idea how to solve that problem?
Once again, I know this is not the right forum for Navigation software but I thought I give it a try....
sometimes ago on my hw6915 i used the 7.910 version without problems.
try to use this version.
regards,
Sold
Thanks Soldato. Tried the the 7.910 version again but same result - except that in addition to the problem the phone´s speaker gets de-activated. Somehow this speaker problem can be overcome by deleting/replacing a certain file in the Windows folder (I had tried the 7.910 version already half a year ago and I found out how to switch on the speaker but forgot what I did....)
Hmm. Also no loader or converter etc. seems to exist that would allow using the newer TT maps with the older (but working) Navigator 6 software.
Looks like I will keep my ipaq hw6915 in the box for a while till a GPS-supporting WM 6 version can be found.
i can try!!
can u send your tomtom soft, n charts, i have hw6915
i'll try them up for ya n give you a hint!!

Sure I will mail it, but its nothing fancy. You can find the corresponding TomTom Navigator software everywhere on the web.
Does TT 7 work on your hw 6915?

Ähm sorry if I might look stupid, but how can I delete a single dll file from the Windows folder? I tried in Active Sync and directly from the ipaq file explorer but can neither replace nor rename nor delete it. And was also not able to change the file parameters.
using file explorer tap on 'show all files' to see the dll or try "total commander" file manager (needed for wm2003se)
I upgarded my touch hd to 6.5 recently and now my GPS can not find the satalites.
Using Gmaps I set windows to auto - baud to 56000 and I have tried comms 0,1,4,6,8 without any joy.
Can HD with 6.5 work with GPS?
I search the forum for an answer but no luck either
Thanks
Ray
Well, iGO is working under 6.5.
And so does Google maps...
However, settings should be 57600 baud on COM 4 (at least thet's how they're set in my iGO)...
And you should use QuickGPS to get ephemerals...
No luck I'm affraid. Did all this and it will not find the satalites.
Thanks

Hi blueisland,
Working perfectly on my Touch HD.
What I would do.
Since I don't know what rom you've put on your phone is get
HTC GPS TOOL http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=360477
and
GPS test from chartcross http://www.chartcross.co.uk/products/WM00002_details.asp
Now what to do:
Very important : sorry for the caps, GO OUTSIDE so no obstructions above the receiver
Start HTC GPS TOOL : go to 'function' -> 'mode' -> 'clear memory'
After that on the top 'open port' and 'start test' now you should see data coming in that window.
Now if you click on 'menu' (bottom right) you can click 'Satellite'. Normally you should see some bars which are the sats that show up.
You can close the appl if you see that.
Start GPS Test : not necessary but this one automatically searches for the com port and baute rate and also show the reception.
Let us know what happens.
Btw: After that you get that working GPSmoddriver is a very nice add on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=571266
no more lag on iGO
