I now have the push email up and running but I can't seem to get my device to wakeup when I have new mail. I have to keep turning it on to see if I got new mail or not. This can be very annoying. Is there any way around this?
I have looked in notifications and under "new email message" I have it selected to display on screen and vibrate. What else do I need to change?
Hi DanITman,
I've got the same problem here.
With my HP6340 this works perfectly so when I bought the wizard I expected the same, but not.
Seems to me that active sync can’t wake up the wizard even if you change the registry to wake up WLAN after standby.
So if there is someone else who could help as that would be much appreciated.

I have no problem getting mail while in sleep mode. I just want it to notify me when I do receive mail by waking up and vibrating. Or stay in sleep mode and just vibrate. I would be happy with that. I just think that the push email is useless unless I get notified when an email comes in so I can respond promtly. I'm glad to see others are having the same problem and hopefully a fix will come out soon.
So if I understand you correctly your device can receive e-mail when it's in standby?
Do you use GPRS or WLAN for push e-mail?
I think you might have checked notification under sounds in the settings screen?

I use GPRS/EDGE for all of my email. ActiveSync works fine in sleep mode. However, when mail does arrive I don't know it until I turn my device back on manually, making the whole push email thing useless because i still have to check to see if I have received new mail or not. Under notifications I have it set to vibrate and show on screen when new email arrives (which it does) but only if its not in sleep mode or once I turn the device on manually it will begin to vibrate to tell me new mail has arrived.
Sorry can't help you with this one mate.
But you’re right, why no notification when your device is in standby.
Seems to me that there is no difference i notification between receiving an SMS or E-mail when you use push e-mail.
Maybe a bug in the test rom?
We will se when there is an official one.
Same issue here. Was never an issue using the old psuedo-push sms system with the old ROM.
Anybody know what the effect of never going into full standby mode would be on the battery? In other words, the screen backlight off but never in standby?

I have never been able to get this to work even when I had ActiveSync set to sync every 5 minutes with the old ROM. It wasn't a problem if you used the old SMS push system because the sms would wake the device up. I was hopeing it was my fault and I was missing a setting but it seems its happening to everyone. Its a pain in the ass.
I did some testing and found out that I can get it to play a sound in standby mode when I have a new email but it won't vibrate. Since my device is only syncing when told too by the server I am going to see if I can get it to vibrate at the end of an activesync and that could possible work.
Setting ActiveSync to vibrate after its finished doesn't work either. Even when the device is on
I was hoping that the "Wake Up to Full Power Mode" tweak in Tweaks2k2 might solve this one, but alas no go. Bummer.

Thanks for trying that. I think MS needs to get this figured out if they want these devices to be BlackBerry killers. Push email is useless if I don't know that I have email the minute it comes in.
this may not help, but it's worth a try......
i put my Wizard (with the new Rom) into a car cradle which is always powered..........therefore the unit is always on.........if the current program on screen is Inbox, then new email coming in does not sound the notification sound.......
if Inbox is running in the background or not at all, then i get the notification sound.......
so........ i tried at home both methods and even when switched off, Inbox needs to be running in the background and not the current program for the sound to notify in an off/standby state
but........ i do get sound notification in standby as long as it is running in the background (ie, when you switch it on, Today screen or Phone or any other app is the 1st thing that greets you)
i regularly get the sound going off through the evening whilst in standby mode....
I know it doesn't solve you problem, but Goodlink got it right.
I will get sound and vib while the unit is in stand-by.
you would thing MS would be able to do the same...
I assume its a glitch that will be fixed soon. Does anyone know where in the registry notifications are kept? I would like to do some searching to see what I can find.
Same problem...
I have the very same problem. Had it before the AKU2 ROM and still have it now. I have taken to using MortSaver and never putting the device in standby...battery doesn't seem affected. Still, rather have this working like it's supposed to out of the box...hope someone can find a solution!

Thanks. I am going to try this -- do you know if the program, which I assume is running in the background all the time, has any impact on device performance?
I have the Cingular 8125 and I love it, but I also have the same problem. I have Goodlink installed and if my device is sleeping it will not vibrate when emails come in. It will make the sound but no vibration. I am currently using Mortsaver for now to keep the device running with the screen off, so that I can feel the vibration and know that I have received an email.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Can anyone verify if this has been fixed in the new Kjam ROM. I don't want to upgrade until this gets fixed. The qtek test ROM is working really well.

I still can't believe that MS has screwed this seemingly fundamental feature up.
In any event, the workaround I am trying at the moment involves the new version of AEPButtons plus. Using this program, I set a double click PIE button action to turn the screen off. In settings, I have unchecked the "Turn Device off after" button so the device never goes to sleep. When I holster or put down my K-jam, I double click the PIE button to turn off the screen and save battery life/prevent accidental key presses. Since the device never truly goes to sleep, the email notifications still come and I get the vibrate telling me an email has arrived. At night or when I don't want notifications, I press the power button. It's not a perfect solution, but it seems to work OK and I don't seem to be missing as many emails coming in.
Hello everyone, i had have this happend to me twice and i dont know what it is. When im on a call my phone hangs up at a certain time between 5 -10 min during the call. And what it does is it hangs up and loses the signal and thake a min to find it. I dont know what could be doing this. Perhaps its the new ROM for HTC which i installed about 2 weeks about, but i cant figure it out. B/c most of my calls are short and are for confermation. Any tips with be great. Thanks!
well i think i kno what it is
I was on another forum and someone told me it was the Radio, i was on the cingular forums to see if they can do anything, they told me to do a hard reset, i did but i havent gotten in a long conversation so we'll see
I've been having the same issue for weeks now.
Someone mentioned if you have an application which is set to automatically connect to the internet (ex. Pocketweather. Newsbreak), then this can potentially be the cause. It has something to do with switching between voice and data.
There's a simple registry fix for this. Read about it last night, but don't have a link handy. It was in the Wizard forums here.
Please
Please look for it it would be greatly apritated
Registry change for dropped calls after 4 minutes
Add the key
HKLM\drivers\builtin\ril\GPRSStallWorkaround=dw:0
See http://www.netmotionwireless.com/support/technotes/2208.asp for an explanation...
I dont see it
I dont see "GPRSStallWorkaround"=dword:0" do i make it or what i read the link you gave me
Add the keyY
You need to add the key with a value of a double word (dw) of 0. Check out the link above...
Thanks for starting a thread like this. i usually experience this issue when I'm using Agile Messenger and a call comes in. If I don't close Agile while on the call it will just drop the call.
I might give this GPRSStallWorkaround a try if anyone gets any results from it.
Soo
I copy this entire thing word for word GPRSStallWorkaround"=dword:0 ? and put the type DWORD
Negative
you make a new key as descibed above and give it a value of a double word of 0.
OOOK
ok i got it now i see it.. and that will solve it i presume and i soft reset?
yep...reset it...
it will address the problem descibed in the link above...
It works!!
Thanks soo much i was on a call for 20 min straight and it didnt disconnect. thanks soo much again
I'm hoping someone can help me. I have tried darn near every IM client out there, and they seem to be the cause of this problem.
I like to keep my IM open. I started with Palringo, tried Agile, Fring, etc.
When I have them open, my phone goes into standby and I receive a call - I will generally MISS the call, because there can be a 6 - 10 second delay from hitting "Answer" to responding.
I thought it might have been something else causing the issue, but I've removed everything, started from scratch, and the SECOND I open an IM client, let my phone go into "standby" mode, the calls I receive are pretty much toast.
Mundu IM worked, but it completely lost its marbles when the connection dropped. It was almost as much of an issue as having the phone call not answer (it froze up other parts of the system)
I don't get it - I know other people are doing this successfully, but why not me?
If anyone'll know the answers, I know it'll be you guys. I'm using DCD 3.1.2 with a 3.35 radio.
Thanks in advance!
Nick
So - am I alone in this problem? I can't be - there MUST be someone in the same boat. Helps, please?
Hi Guys,
as I am a noob on this forum, i searched around, but couldn't find anything related to my problem.
I do have my brand new Treo Pro (aka Treo 850) and I am having some trouble. When there is an incoming call, I answer it, but after a few seconds - just from nowhere - the flightmode gets active and the phonecall is droped. Maybe even only the phone is switched off... I can not see any difference. While the call is incomming there is no bluetooth active, the batterystate is good, no wifi connection...
I am really sad and frustrated, I switched from an older treo 650 where this problem happens, too. I thought there it has been due to his age, but now – with the same looking problem on my new Treo Pro (850) I am going mad.
Some more Info:
The touchscreen is locked at this time. The callduration was about 10 seconds max.
Could this be some incopatibilty with some of the installed programms, like TCPMP for example?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Yours JamFX
Hi JamFX, I'm a heavy user of my Treo Pro for work and have lots of apps installed; I've never experienced this problem.
You could try uninstalling one app at a time and hope you find the problem that way.
Otherwise try a hard reset if all else fails?
Good luck.
I was having the same problem...
just found that was my mistake...the phone let the touch screen active during calls and it's too sensitive so, your ear hit the signal info icon, hit the comm manager and there activate the air plane mode...you need to answer the call and hit lock that appear on the screen options and there is, no air plane mode active again...
Hope this work for you!
Thanks so far...
Hi Everybody,
thanks for your hints so far. What I've done so far is:
- Uninstall TCPMP
- checked if "lock screen during calls" is active -> was activated...
So I think, that the last solution was quite a good hint, but not for my case. I thought of this, too, so i tried this ;-)
Until now, I didn't had problems, but until now I didn't have so many calls to check. Lets see. I will report them here. If there are any similar cases known please don't hesitate to post.
Thanks
Yours JamFx
Hi there,
I´m new here (who cares ), but i used the search thing and look by my selfe.
Now here the Question:
Is there a programm or a setting with whom i can download my Emails in a frequent way?
I don´t care if they are just sent or something like this. The only thing matters is, that i get them every hour updated.
I found an option to set my wifi on in standby but this killes my batterie after 12 hours !!
BTW. i found an option to set the send/receive time, but this dosen´t work in standby.
Please if there is a way let me know. It can´t be that hard to set something up which download them in standy and than switch is it off.
Background info:
Evolution Rom
I don't understand... messaging settings works as long as phone is not turned off...
??
Can't you just use GPRS instead of Wifi? That doesn't kill your battery in standy.

The Problem ist, that the phone or better the Wifi, will be off when it is in Sleep-Mode. I can switch it on to keep the conection all night long but it kills my batterie in 12 Hours and it isn´t worth it. Thats the reason why i came around the idea to switch it on in sleep mode by a programm to download the mails.
Till now i can´t use GPRS (i can but it cost a lot for prepaid-sim) otherwise i would prefer this way.
Oh, sorry... I did not understand that you don't have data plan with your SIM...
So you want something to activate your WiFi every hour, download mails and then turn off WiFi?
Maybe via MortScript... but not heard about software that can do that...
Hope I understood right this time...

Yep, this sounds good.
MortScript? Do need to have knowledge in programming for it, because i never did anything like this.
Guess you do need some programming skills. I don't use it.
But search forum, there are a lot of examples, and in its thread there is probably someone who can tell you "OK, it's possible" or "No way man, sorry"
Thank you!
Is there someone who might have read the threat can tell me wether this is possible?
Thank you!
