Hi there,
I´m new here (who cares ), but i used the search thing and look by my selfe.
Now here the Question:
Is there a programm or a setting with whom i can download my Emails in a frequent way?
I don´t care if they are just sent or something like this. The only thing matters is, that i get them every hour updated.
I found an option to set my wifi on in standby but this killes my batterie after 12 hours !!
BTW. i found an option to set the send/receive time, but this dosen´t work in standby.
Please if there is a way let me know. It can´t be that hard to set something up which download them in standy and than switch is it off.
Background info:
Evolution Rom
I don't understand... messaging settings works as long as phone is not turned off...
??
Can't you just use GPRS instead of Wifi? That doesn't kill your battery in standy.

The Problem ist, that the phone or better the Wifi, will be off when it is in Sleep-Mode. I can switch it on to keep the conection all night long but it kills my batterie in 12 Hours and it isn´t worth it. Thats the reason why i came around the idea to switch it on in sleep mode by a programm to download the mails.
Till now i can´t use GPRS (i can but it cost a lot for prepaid-sim) otherwise i would prefer this way.
Oh, sorry... I did not understand that you don't have data plan with your SIM...
So you want something to activate your WiFi every hour, download mails and then turn off WiFi?
Maybe via MortScript... but not heard about software that can do that...
Hope I understood right this time...

Yep, this sounds good.
MortScript? Do need to have knowledge in programming for it, because i never did anything like this.
Guess you do need some programming skills. I don't use it.
But search forum, there are a lot of examples, and in its thread there is probably someone who can tell you "OK, it's possible" or "No way man, sorry"
Thank you!
Is there someone who might have read the threat can tell me wether this is possible?
Thank you!

Has anyone else noticed this?
If you put the phone on vibrate mode, then recieve a text message, occasionally the orange light will not stop flashing, even after reading the message. I've got the "flash light for No Limit" option selected, as I want the light to flash until it's read.
To switch the flashing off, I have to go into Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications then click OK without changing anything.
Annoying bug!
Yes, I've noticed this also. I have mine set to 5 minute flash but some things don't seem to realise they have been read and continue flashing.
Do you have the same ROM as me? - see my sig.

Yeh, the strange thing is that this works ok for me when on normal mode (i.e. not vibrate).
How do you check ROM version?

Not sure if it is. I think there is talk of a 1.13 radio but can't find any firmwares at the Qtek site.
I wonder if you would mind checking something for me on yours please...
With the machine in flight mode, could you attempt to turn on bluetooth by clicking on the bottom left of the today page and then ticking the top checkbox that appears on the next page. Does your LED start flashing blue or do you get a message telling you turn on the radio first.
I cannot find a way to turn on bluetooth at the same time that the radio (phone) is turned off (note with pocket PC on). I think it is a problem with this firmware but it could be a problem with just mine.
Thanks
It has the same problem on mine: flight mode needs to be off for BT.

Thank you Timewarp. Unless someone knows of an alternative way to turn the phone off without using flight mode it seems to me that this firmware is a bit faulty.
For most people I don't expect it will be a major problem but for me, who intends to use mapping software whilst out hiking it could prove a real battery drain.
Qtec told me that it was a faulty phone and to return it - it does look like they were wrong, its not a faulty phone but a bug or strange feature in the firmware.
Thanks again!
OK, thanks to kta I have now managed to get bluetooth on and GSM off!
I did try it a few days ago and it didn't work - maybe I had an older version of the software.
So it looks like the standard software can't do it but some 3rd party software (Phone Alarm v1.27) can!
How about this idea as a work around?
Turn on flight mode, then turn it off again. When it asks for your PIN, click Cancel. Then turn on BT. You get BT on then, without your phone connecting.
I'm not sure whether this will save the battery drain though.
so thats what that option was for. i thought it was supposed to flash the screen.
On mine if i get a message or a missed call the orange light comes on solid(not flashing) and i have it set to no limit as well
i'm on rom 1.12 and radio 1.13

Yep, I thought of that too, but if you read what it says on the screen, something like "you can only make emergency calls" that suggests that it still needs a link to phone transmitters. So, although the green led doesn't flash I would say that it is still communicating with transmitters and thus using up battery power. I'll test this in my car, if I hearclicks over my car speaker then that will prove that the phone is actually still communicating with transmitters.
If I don't hear any clicks from the speaker then the phone probably isn't on.
I'll test it on my way home tonight and let you know.
Cheers

Yeh, I'm not sure whether it'll be communicating with transmitters all the time, or would only do this when you tried to make an emergency call.
If you think about it, emergency calls would use any available network, whether you're a subscriber or not, rather than the company that you have a contract with. When you have your phone connected to the network (flight mode off, PIN entered), I would guess that it would only keep your service provider's systems up-to-date with your location and not every mobile service provider in range :?: I say this because in some areas you can get reception from some networks and not others.
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what you find.
Edit: Post deleted as I realised my reasoning in the post was flawed.
Hi guys,
I have this strange problem in two NAND builds that I have tried (MDJ Gingerbread and Hyperdroid). Every night at about 8 o'clock my internet connection would lost. I mean, no symbol whatsoever (G/E/3G/H). It only comes again before sunrise. Any idea why? Sometimes this happens at the afternoon, too. Using radio 12.15.50.14
Seems like you installed a program that allows you to enable "night mode", no Internet connection till a certain time.
I don't know all the programs that have this option, so I can't really help you. I thought Juicedefender has this option, as well as SuperPower.
Try checking the settings of the apps you've installed.
Hope this helps!

Go to Settings, Wireless & networks, Mobile networks, Access Point Names and make sure the correct APN is selected. You may want to check the settings against those on this site...

I have this same problem, its happened to me 2 nights in a row between 9pm and 12am. i deleted juice defender, sms popup and blink led apps and it came back, but then the next night it happened again! i rebooted the phone and it came back. Im running MDJ CM7 2.6, and ive tried radios 2.15.50.14 & 2.12.50.02. oh and this happens at work where i typically get excellent reception...
Right, it seems I have a new phone, same old issue. I started a thread before on this, got no reply.
When I connect to the internet through mobile data (4g/3g) a pop-up appears asking me if I want to do this. Obviously I do, otherwise I wouldn't have pressed the button which enables data connection. Pretty pointless right? Read on.
After, when I'm finished on the net and I want to cease data connection to save power/money, I click again to disable mobile data and yes, another pop-up appears! This time asking me if I am certain that I want to limit my data usage and save myself some battery life. Maybe, just maybe this one time I feel like burning my battery out or racking up a nice 4 figure phone bill.
So, I've gone through the forums, found that some people managed to rid themselves of this irritation on their xperia something somethings using an app called "Elixer" I think. They find and delete/disable a certain file on their phones and problem solved. Bam. No more needless questions when trying to do simple tasks.
Anyone know where this file is on the S4? Please? Answer this time?
Last time I spent a week or so killing the hell out of my phone with superfluous mods and roms until it wouldn't turn on anymore and I had to put it through the wash "accidentally" to claim insurance. Not planning to do that again. HELP!

Seriously? Nothing. Nobody can fix this here?
Hello everyone. Firstly i'm sorry for my english.
I have last Energy ROM from this thread on CLK. Earlier sometimes i could not start mobile internet. (Letters E or H not show in statusbar), but i fix this restart HD2. Now it's not help. Airplane not help too. Something blocks this. In fact, now i can't use mobile internet in any way. I'm not changing operator and SIM-card. And i don't want change this ROM. Can anyone help me?

Only mobile internet (I do not see the icon Edge or Hspda or 3G in statusbar)
Wi-fi, bluetooth, phone calls work fine.

Go and check the APN, make sure it is set up AND selected. If all is fine, turn on airplane mode, reboot device, turn off airplane mode then try connecting. Tell me what happens.

I do this before, but i do it right now again. Nothing has changed. Data not connected. One strange thing. After reboot airplane mode turns off automatically, i tried this twice. I do not know, may be is important.

This might sound silly, but are you sure your data-package hasn't expired? I mean, try the sim card in another device, or call customer service. (If you're not sure).

That is weird.. Try reflashing your current Kernel, and make sure you select "PPP" connection if possible.

Yes, you understood correctly. But with that, I don't know what else might be the cause.
Let's go from the beginning: You said your data used to work fine, but one day it stopped. What happened in that day? Did you change something? Did you remove/change the sim? Did you install a certain app? Did you mess with a setting?
I wouldn't say your options have finished just yet.

Firstly i use mobile data very rarely (May be one times in a week) because most of the time i'm on work or home with Wi-Fi. But sometimes i really need it.
Data works fine, but not always. Sometimes this thing happened before, i mean data not started, and i fix this restart HD2 (it's sucks, but i could live with that). Then of course some apps was updated. I'm install few games (I tried uninstall them). And one day data not started again. I restarted HD2, but it's not help. Well, after many tries, i came here.
I'm not changing operator and SIM-card (and i'm not touch sim may be half year).
I suppose, i must install my ROM clean. Configure all settings & programms. It takes a lot of time, so I'll do it on the weekend. (I have a small five-month child , so it's a little difficult). May be it's help.
I hope there is a way to do without this, may be look some things in special programs, or adb shell or something like that, and find out what happens, what is stopping him.
That's it.

Okay, I am sorry but I really don't know what the problem here is. Everything seems to me just fine. All I can recommend is going to MAGLDR because its data connections are stable (That is if cLK is actually the problem).
Other than that, I have nothing. Sorry.
I hope you get it fixed.
Well, If anyone is interested... I think i found "sticking point".
I backup my rom in cwm, and then started to experiment. (omg, i go to work sleepy). After uninstall all updates of "SuperSU" (and reset its settings) mobile data finally launched!!!
WTF was that? Don't know.
So pretty much what the title says, i just updated to 8.0 today on my european version, does anyone of you know how to turn this off? When i turn it on it says data charges may apply and when i want to turn it off it just asks me to confirm, its not at all practical.
It's the same on LG V30 Oreo. I don't think it can be disabled unfortunately.
H870 here, I don't have thse question when I turn it on. You sure don't have a limit set or roaming?

well, my H870 is giving the same anoying message everytime i want to turn off network data. I'm from Portugal...

that's crappy thinking. what would happen if everyone thought the same with every setting? what if you had to confirm everytime you want to enter an app? anyway, being used with a much more intuitive action then switching to a new one, which is not intuitive at all, sucks.

Why the hell are you turning mobile data off? It's a smart phone. It's supposed to be online 24/7, which is why it has....mobile data!
If you don't want mobile data on your phone, buy a $10 Nokia.

Because having it always on drains the battery faster, smartass. I turn it on only when I need something. Some of us don't need/want to be online 24/7. And with this stand-by drain I got after Oreo every bit of battery counts. The phone lasts like 70% of what it used to on Nougat. (And yes, I did a factory reset.)

Are you sure that phones have mobile data to be 24/7 online, mate? xD
It is indeed a smartphone and not a 24/7-should-be-online-machine. When I want to sleep, take a nap, or just not be bothered by emails, facebook etc, I turn wifi and mobile data off. I'm not putting my phone on silent 'cause I want people to be able to call me if there's something going on. Also, I just turn it off then I'm at home and got wifi instead. Aaaaaand also I'd like to have at least a decent UX on this damn phone if the support is crappy af anyway.
Is just a click, nothing more. And if you need to turn on and turn off data 100 times a day (just you and some of your friens..) just click that button 100 times. I'm on android from donut, and I never turned off data.
