Flash light notification bug when on vibrate - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 General

Has anyone else noticed this?
If you put the phone on vibrate mode, then recieve a text message, occasionally the orange light will not stop flashing, even after reading the message. I've got the "flash light for No Limit" option selected, as I want the light to flash until it's read.
To switch the flashing off, I have to go into Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications then click OK without changing anything.
Annoying bug!

Yes, I've noticed this also. I have mine set to 5 minute flash but some things don't seem to realise they have been read and continue flashing.
Do you have the same ROM as me? - see my sig.

Yeh, the strange thing is that this works ok for me when on normal mode (i.e. not vibrate).
How do you check ROM version?

Not sure if it is. I think there is talk of a 1.13 radio but can't find any firmwares at the Qtek site.
I wonder if you would mind checking something for me on yours please...
With the machine in flight mode, could you attempt to turn on bluetooth by clicking on the bottom left of the today page and then ticking the top checkbox that appears on the next page. Does your LED start flashing blue or do you get a message telling you turn on the radio first.
I cannot find a way to turn on bluetooth at the same time that the radio (phone) is turned off (note with pocket PC on). I think it is a problem with this firmware but it could be a problem with just mine.
Thanks

It has the same problem on mine: flight mode needs to be off for BT.

Thank you Timewarp. Unless someone knows of an alternative way to turn the phone off without using flight mode it seems to me that this firmware is a bit faulty.
For most people I don't expect it will be a major problem but for me, who intends to use mapping software whilst out hiking it could prove a real battery drain.
Qtec told me that it was a faulty phone and to return it - it does look like they were wrong, its not a faulty phone but a bug or strange feature in the firmware.
Thanks again!

OK, thanks to kta I have now managed to get bluetooth on and GSM off!
I did try it a few days ago and it didn't work - maybe I had an older version of the software.
So it looks like the standard software can't do it but some 3rd party software (Phone Alarm v1.27) can!

How about this idea as a work around?
Turn on flight mode, then turn it off again. When it asks for your PIN, click Cancel. Then turn on BT. You get BT on then, without your phone connecting.
I'm not sure whether this will save the battery drain though.

so thats what that option was for. i thought it was supposed to flash the screen.
On mine if i get a message or a missed call the orange light comes on solid(not flashing) and i have it set to no limit as well
i'm on rom 1.12 and radio 1.13

Yep, I thought of that too, but if you read what it says on the screen, something like "you can only make emergency calls" that suggests that it still needs a link to phone transmitters. So, although the green led doesn't flash I would say that it is still communicating with transmitters and thus using up battery power. I'll test this in my car, if I hearclicks over my car speaker then that will prove that the phone is actually still communicating with transmitters.
If I don't hear any clicks from the speaker then the phone probably isn't on.
I'll test it on my way home tonight and let you know.
Cheers

Yeh, I'm not sure whether it'll be communicating with transmitters all the time, or would only do this when you tried to make an emergency call.
If you think about it, emergency calls would use any available network, whether you're a subscriber or not, rather than the company that you have a contract with. When you have your phone connected to the network (flight mode off, PIN entered), I would guess that it would only keep your service provider's systems up-to-date with your location and not every mobile service provider in range :?: I say this because in some areas you can get reception from some networks and not others.
Anyway, it'll be interesting to see what you find.

Edit: Post deleted as I realised my reasoning in the post was flawed.

Email Notification

I now have the push email up and running but I can't seem to get my device to wakeup when I have new mail. I have to keep turning it on to see if I got new mail or not. This can be very annoying. Is there any way around this?
I have looked in notifications and under "new email message" I have it selected to display on screen and vibrate. What else do I need to change?
Hi DanITman,
I've got the same problem here.
With my HP6340 this works perfectly so when I bought the wizard I expected the same, but not.
Seems to me that active sync can’t wake up the wizard even if you change the registry to wake up WLAN after standby.
So if there is someone else who could help as that would be much appreciated.

I have no problem getting mail while in sleep mode. I just want it to notify me when I do receive mail by waking up and vibrating. Or stay in sleep mode and just vibrate. I would be happy with that. I just think that the push email is useless unless I get notified when an email comes in so I can respond promtly. I'm glad to see others are having the same problem and hopefully a fix will come out soon.
So if I understand you correctly your device can receive e-mail when it's in standby?
Do you use GPRS or WLAN for push e-mail?
I think you might have checked notification under sounds in the settings screen?

I use GPRS/EDGE for all of my email. ActiveSync works fine in sleep mode. However, when mail does arrive I don't know it until I turn my device back on manually, making the whole push email thing useless because i still have to check to see if I have received new mail or not. Under notifications I have it set to vibrate and show on screen when new email arrives (which it does) but only if its not in sleep mode or once I turn the device on manually it will begin to vibrate to tell me new mail has arrived.
Sorry can't help you with this one mate.
But you’re right, why no notification when your device is in standby.
Seems to me that there is no difference i notification between receiving an SMS or E-mail when you use push e-mail.
Maybe a bug in the test rom?
We will se when there is an official one.
Same issue here. Was never an issue using the old psuedo-push sms system with the old ROM.
Anybody know what the effect of never going into full standby mode would be on the battery? In other words, the screen backlight off but never in standby?

I have never been able to get this to work even when I had ActiveSync set to sync every 5 minutes with the old ROM. It wasn't a problem if you used the old SMS push system because the sms would wake the device up. I was hopeing it was my fault and I was missing a setting but it seems its happening to everyone. Its a pain in the ass.
I did some testing and found out that I can get it to play a sound in standby mode when I have a new email but it won't vibrate. Since my device is only syncing when told too by the server I am going to see if I can get it to vibrate at the end of an activesync and that could possible work.
Setting ActiveSync to vibrate after its finished doesn't work either. Even when the device is on
I was hoping that the "Wake Up to Full Power Mode" tweak in Tweaks2k2 might solve this one, but alas no go. Bummer.

Thanks for trying that. I think MS needs to get this figured out if they want these devices to be BlackBerry killers. Push email is useless if I don't know that I have email the minute it comes in.
this may not help, but it's worth a try......
i put my Wizard (with the new Rom) into a car cradle which is always powered..........therefore the unit is always on.........if the current program on screen is Inbox, then new email coming in does not sound the notification sound.......
if Inbox is running in the background or not at all, then i get the notification sound.......
so........ i tried at home both methods and even when switched off, Inbox needs to be running in the background and not the current program for the sound to notify in an off/standby state
but........ i do get sound notification in standby as long as it is running in the background (ie, when you switch it on, Today screen or Phone or any other app is the 1st thing that greets you)
i regularly get the sound going off through the evening whilst in standby mode....
I know it doesn't solve you problem, but Goodlink got it right.
I will get sound and vib while the unit is in stand-by.
you would thing MS would be able to do the same...
I assume its a glitch that will be fixed soon. Does anyone know where in the registry notifications are kept? I would like to do some searching to see what I can find.
Same problem...
I have the very same problem. Had it before the AKU2 ROM and still have it now. I have taken to using MortSaver and never putting the device in standby...battery doesn't seem affected. Still, rather have this working like it's supposed to out of the box...hope someone can find a solution!

Thanks. I am going to try this -- do you know if the program, which I assume is running in the background all the time, has any impact on device performance?
I have the Cingular 8125 and I love it, but I also have the same problem. I have Goodlink installed and if my device is sleeping it will not vibrate when emails come in. It will make the sound but no vibration. I am currently using Mortsaver for now to keep the device running with the screen off, so that I can feel the vibration and know that I have received an email.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Can anyone verify if this has been fixed in the new Kjam ROM. I don't want to upgrade until this gets fixed. The qtek test ROM is working really well.

I still can't believe that MS has screwed this seemingly fundamental feature up.
In any event, the workaround I am trying at the moment involves the new version of AEPButtons plus. Using this program, I set a double click PIE button action to turn the screen off. In settings, I have unchecked the "Turn Device off after" button so the device never goes to sleep. When I holster or put down my K-jam, I double click the PIE button to turn off the screen and save battery life/prevent accidental key presses. Since the device never truly goes to sleep, the email notifications still come and I get the vibrate telling me an email has arrived. At night or when I don't want notifications, I press the power button. It's not a perfect solution, but it seems to work OK and I don't seem to be missing as many emails coming in.

Phone freezing

Hi,
I have a big problem with my Tytn (sorry if this is already been posted). Quite often the phone freezes, making it impossible to turn on again. The only thing that works is a soft-reset. What is worse, is that when the phone is in this state, although the green light is regularly flashing, it is unable to get phone calls even if the caller gets the normal ringing signal. No trace is left of the call, neither in calls list! This is a really serious issue: please, let me know if you have an idea of how to solve the problem.
Thanks!
I am having the same issue. I haven't been able to isolate it. I was havign to0 restart 1-2 times a day. Same systems press the power button nothing. Lights blinking everything looks ok. but nothing on the screen. and i miss calls. really pain in the ass. I loaded mobile secretary and it hasn;t locked in a day or two which is odd.
I also sometimes have to rpess the power button two times for it to wake
me too
It's happening to me too. I will lose service and the phone doesn't go out and poll automatically when service should be good. It may show 1, 2, 3 bars then when I try to make a call it hangs, and then get an x and a Y!, then searches for service. I have the GSM only hack installed and the activesync workaround and it still does this. It is not useable as a phone.
do a search in this forum.

With all due respect, there is no solution where the link leads to.
I am having the GSM problem also. Just from time to time I am noticing an exclamation mark near the 'antennae' icon in the top bar. When I tap it, I read 'Service unavailable' in the balloon. From that point I may either soft-reset, or switch GSM flight mode on and off, which brings the PIN code keyboard and the phone works again.
I really don't think it is related to power saving, as it happened a few times in the car with TyTN on external power.

Sorry to do a "me too" posting, but I experience the exact same symptoms. There is no obvious pattern to when this happens, but it is a major problem, as there is no way (other than trying to switch it on) to distinguish whether the phone is working or not at any given moment.
I am running the latest (South African) ROM on my Vario II.

Given this thread now appears to have two distinct issues running together I better be clear that I am referring to the lock-up/freezing issue not the dropped GSM signal issue!!
To be honest there are quite a few possible causes for the freezing issue(s). I would suggest searches and the wiki on such things as (and you may or may not have tried some already):
1. Use of a Task Manager to properly shut running programmes otherwise they contiue to run in the background
2. Proper shutting down of Active Sync in addition to any task manager you may have, as it can re-start itself automatically (particularly overnight. Look for the "Fake Server Trick")
3. Always shut down Wifi when not in use (vital particularly overnight but also good practice to avoid lock ups)
4 For overnight and possibly other quiet times you can consider having your device automatically perform a soft reset to clear any running programmes that may block alarms/receipt of mail etc. Look for such things as xbar or SK schema

Yes indeed, although I think that both: a Phone App problem, and a GSM signal problem, are indeed the same, maybe only differently percepted and described by users affected.
I need ActiveSync to be running in order for DirectPush to work. If it conflicts with the phone, it makes the device unusable concerning push email functionality.

I agree they may be cause and effect for some folks. Although I don't believe we can say that all the freezing and lock-ups are due to dropped GSM signal and freezing when failing to re-establish it. The items I list either taken together or individually have been found by others to work in some cases.
I appreciate that if you require Active Sync running then this is not a solution for you. I think the issue of crashing on loss of signal requires more analysis and I'm not aware of much discussion of it - though I could be wrong!!
Mike
I was fiddling with the phone yesterday and today, and I have a hypothesis that my problem is related to PIN entry screen that won't pop up but is silently awaiting a PIN underneath.
I was trying to ucheck the "Require PIN when phone is used" box in Settings but with no luck, my PIN is then refused with "Unknown SIM Error" message. Maybe it wants a PUK but I don't have it on hand to try.
My plan now is to:
- uninstall all Phone-related applications (PhonePlus, Dark_Blue Buttons, EZDial),
- request PUK from my office and try to uncheck the box,
- try prepaid SIM card which has no PIN
To observe symptoms I need two-three days, so I will rather not be posting until solid data is collected.
ps Mike, it is a pleasure to be on a board with people like you.

I am reporting from the test field that my problem persists, despite uninstalling all phone-related extenders.
I have noticed that freezing is paired with disabling Bluetooth. So after switching the phone off (flight mode on) and back on (flight mode off), I also have to turn on Bluetooth.
EDIT: I was grounded for last few days at home and freezing problem was not occuring. I am now thinking that it may be related to switching band between GPRS and UMTS. My next step will be disabling UMTS for good. It saves a whole lotta battery, by the way. I am for the third day mostly on standby, with a few calls made, and I am still on 70%! (no 3G in the area)
I have contacted my vendor and asked about replacement policy, they are "checking this with the importer". It's a beauty of living in not-so-western country. Poland is the name.

I'm having exactly the same problem, very annoying because the staus LEDs keep blinking as normal. I too think the problem is UMST-GPRS switching related, as I also have problems when phoning while I drive with my car from a UMTS enabled into a GPRS only zone. The voice call is interupted and I get a loud noise, sounding like a scrambled voice, on both sides of the connection. At home my UMTS signal is very weak, so I think it happens when I move around the house to a place where the TyTN switches to GPRS.
I've put my TyTN to "GSM network" only now to see if this helps, but I use UMTS frequently so this is no long term solution for me.

[Q] Turning off "cell" radio NOT wireless 3G radio...

Hello everyone..
here is my problem....
I no longer have cellular service from sprint, lets say sprint disconnected it...
ok so i have my evo and a bunch of things i can still do with it.
but! why is it that i cant turn off just the "cellular" radio without it going into plane mode? keep in mind im not talking about "go into wireless mode and uncheck mobile" that only turns off 3g and leaves the phone COMPLETELY ON.
i mean, i dont have the service why do i still have to put it in airplane mode (and on evo's you cant use bluetooth while on that mode)
is there an apk that i can delete so the "phone" feature is gone and no longer shows my the strength bars without the need for airplane mode? its annoying to have to turn on my "PMP" and have to see the airplane on there.
you can use titanium backup to uninstall the phone, then keep mobile networks unchecked and your good to go
edit I think it may still search for signal

Nope, there's no real way to do it. You bought a phone, not an iPod. Live with Airplane mode or get service.

I was looking for something like this too. In an area with very little signal, having the radio on is just annoying because it never gets signal, so it drains battery forever, even more because it is constantly scanning. This is perfect for that.
Now if someone could make a widget for this switch...
How does the battery drain? If sprint disconnected your phone it won't keep searching for a network. I have my old phone that laid for over 5 days without charge when I hot my evo... that was both the moment and intercept

It will still actually be connected to the network, you just wont be able to make calls or get texts. This is required for all cell phones, so you can still call 911, or call the carrier to re-activate the phone if you ever want to.

Some annoying issue with US LeEco Pro 3.

I bought this Le Pro3 the first day it came out on the flash sale. I really like this phone but there are some things that are pretty annoying. I fixed a lot of it but some issues are still there.
I have the stock ROM with 5.8.021s
Bluetooth.
Since I had the phone I left the bluetooth on all the time. I never had any issue with the battery draining or anything like that. But with the lasted update 5.8.021s, it seems like the blutooth turns itself off when I am not using it(when I leave my car) and turns itself on again automatically when I go in my car. I understand why they do this, it is to save battery. This would be fine if it worked. The issue that I am having is even though it is turned on by itself, it does not automatically connect to my car. This is an issue with all 3 of my car. I did NOT have this issue before. Is there a way to turn off this feature.
Gmail
I have many emails account but the only email app I use is the official google Gmail app. Randomly the "Auto-sync" will be turned off and I would need to turn it back on again. This is really annoying, when it is off, no email is pushed to me. After I turn it on, it would work for a while and again randomly the auto sync will be turned off. When I say random, it could be within a couple of hour, a day, or a few days. I can't figure out any patterns or what would trigger it. I don't use any auto clean up or anything.
Dropped call
I rarely make any phone call but I noticed that when I do make calls at home I need to turn OFF my wifi on my phone. If I don't I will loose the call within a minute. I am talking about just regular phone call, not though a special app or anything. I don't know if the phone uses wifi calling or anything like that. Even if it does, I don't understand why I would loose the call because I am usually next to the router.
If anyone has any answer or help please let me know.
I dont have any of these issues. Try restoring it from factory settings(if possible for you)
I have none of these issues, and I travel for work and actually -do- use wifi calling off and on here and there. Go to your wifi calling and make sure the wifi calling is turned off. Then do a network reset. Then make sure you do NOT have battery assistant turned on. Then go into the battery settings and make sure you do not have any auto power down or off settings turned of for any clock times.

Where do I find the wifi call feature?
Battery assist has always been off and I don't use any auto power down.

Strange, I don't have that option. What version do you have? Do you have to enable it somewhere first?

what's your phone carrier? Does it support wifi calling?
Did you happen to flash any Chinese roms to lose wifi calling feature? If you are on a unmodified software, you better contact LeEco support....

I'm on official US stock version ending in .21s
No, I didn't have to enable the setting to appear. It's simply there and toggled on or off. Perhaps it only shows up if your SIM card is from a carrier that supports it? I've used two different sim cards in my phone (AT&T AND TMOBILE), both of which support wifi calling, and the option for wifi calling was there both times.

Bought the phone on the first day of the flash sale. I have the latest stock rom and have ATT.
I just got this phone and use it on AT&T. I don't have the WiFi calling option. I did use it on my Note 5.
My biggest problem is Android Auto. It didn't work at first so I read on here that resetting it reinstalling the Android Auto app fixes it. I cleared data and cache and it worked the next two times I plugged it in to my car and hasn't since. I tried clearing data and cache again but still no luck.
As discussed you can NOT toggle wifi calling on and off with an AT&T based SIM. This has led to ongoing tech support discussions with LeEco concerning calling issues with my LeEco Pro3, US version.
Specifically, when WIFI is ENABLED (not WIFI CALLING as this isn't functional), outbound call ringing is hit or miss. There's a period of silence and either the call is suddenly answered or disconnects and gives up. If wifi is DISABLED outbound call ringing ALWAYS happens. Compare that to my AT&T branded Note 4 whereby any outbound call rings regardless if wifi is active.
Further, I have had issues with INBOUND calls where my Pro3 does not ring. It's hit or miss and happens regardless of location. First knowledge of a phone call missed is voicemail. Some have dismissed this as the vagaries of cell phones but in my case it seems to happen more frequently than the 'occasional' missed call.
I'm starting to wonder if the outbound and inbound issues are related, and whether there's some inherent software problems related to ringing when wifi is present and functional. Obviously disabling wifi looks to be a workaround, albeit a poor one since I'm on a limited data plan whereby it's easy to forget to turn wifi back on.
No outbound ringing is simply an annoyance I can live with but the failure of inbound ringing is simply unacceptable. I'll probably sell this phone and have gone back to a Note 4.
Twrp backup
Hi Can anyone please perform a stock twrp backup for their handsets. I am in a soft brick and it would be greatly appreciated.

Suddenly no sms or data

AS the title suggests, I receive no data or sms, and in system settings, it says out of service. Is this a sim card issue or a phone issue? has anyone else had this issue and if so does anyone know a fix? Thank you.

My apologies. I am on us99610o rooted with magisk, and last night my phone randomly stopped receiving messages and the internet turned off. this morning i did a fresh install of the 10o firmware and after a restart the data is back on, however i can only send texts and not receive them. I am not sure if this is a related problem but last night my charging port also messed up, and to charge the phone it requires the charger to be in a certain position. Also i randomly go a notification that said "connected to external power supply" however nothing was connected in the charging port. i reset the apn setting as well to no avail. if you need any other information please let me know.

Only thing I can suggest is back up, do a full wipe. Install your rom, boot, go through set up check calls and messaging and double check the apn settings. If you're still having problems check with your carrier could be a problem on their end.
