HTC Windows Media Player Today Plugin

here guys...this is the Windows Media Player today screen plugin...

can we see screen shots thanks

tried this no screenshots avail yet but works well. click to open windows media then shows song title a.nd time lapsed of current song if you tap it again and drag down get a better view as it stretches and then can skip pause volume up etc and shows artist volume and is okay looks like its hacked from a htc audio manager plugin which i think most people would perfer does someone have this cab if im rigvht in my suspicions? cheers and njoy

HTC Audio manager is in the WM6 Rom. I also read somewhere that Jetcet Print is not on WM6. I definately have it on mine too.

yea dude...i got jetcet on mine too...initially nothing seems to have been erased or ommited from the original rom...and im sorry i dont have anyscreenshots available yet.

nice upload. htc home also has a music plugin but this is nice for the new one where if u add the 6th tab the music plugin looks horrible.

Hi Folks, you are going to have to bear with a non-programmer, my question is with regard to album art and scrolling on WM. there are loads of threads on xda trying to emmulate the 'Apple' style scrolling media selector.
As most players do the same thing, (ie play music and video) creaing the scroll would seem to be a seperate issue. is there a plugin that allows thumnails to be visible on WM and combine this with touch control to allow the existing player to select and play the track/album/video?
this would give the element of selecting via the pics without the need to create a completely new player?
cheers for looking and would hope one of you folks could run with this idea

I agree completely. I just don't want a new player - wmp is fine for me and works well with Voice Command. I like the way it does album art and I think it syncs well with the desktop.
What we need is just something to launch the album or track in media player. The Library option in wmp needs fingers that are much smaller than mine!
The iContact application was perfect - a good scroller to find what you want and then go to the normal app.
Ideally it should look a bit like audio manager or the iphone-style.
Any programmers want to take this on?

well i'm not a developper... me too I agree that windows media player is an excellent software as it also plays videos and mp4's which are also part of my music album... I've done a few things to make it seem like an iphone and more practical:
1. downloaded PlaylistMgr 0.6.2.1 (freeware), use it to create a playlist or edit it on my ppc. And i use the playlist as a shortcut on my today screen (i have spb4), this way it launches the play list directly and not have to select my music everytime. This includes all my music and videos
2. iphone skin for wmp from http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/skins/media/wmp/wmpppc/?order=9&alltime=yes
3. I didnt know how to increase the playlist font, because i agree its too small so i increased the system font. Now most fonts (not all) are bigger, which has some advantages and disadvantages in other software (I used tweaks for that)
4. Use ftouchflo which allows me to scroll in the playlist
if any ideas let me know

Yeah, I did the same, create playlists for my music, and use righttoleft launch with ftouchflo to open the folder that holds them.
Never liked working with libraries.

Can someone elaborate how to create a playlist? I use WMedia and organize my music and I created a play list on the desktop and copied it onto my storage card under the folder 'My playlists' but it doesn't appear on the phone when I update it. Is there a way to create a playlist on the stock wing?

i have just purchased a HTC p6300 (xda Argon) all in all a so-so device but has got a bit of software in it that works well as a media selector - HTC Audio manager, allows you to select albums by file and works well with touch flo. only problem is that i dont know how to find the route files to copy and extract.. has anyone else seen or tried this? and if so does anyone have the cab? would really like this for my Wizard as well as this seems to be one of the best/easiest media selectors i have seen

how to create a playlist...

just wondering guys, i have 100's of songs on my diamond and i need to place them on a playlist. what is the quickest way of doing?
it will take me ages to add one song at a time...just wondering whether there is a better way of doing it by using the default player in Diamond

If u use wmp on your PC u can import and sync complete playlists...
I think they can be selected in default diamond player too (under playlists^^)
At least I saw my mediaPlayer playlists in the diamond player.

oh ok...i dont use sync with wmp...generally speaking I use I tunes...I will give wmp a go

WMP ''Now Playing'' plugin

I am wondering of anyone on here knows of a plugin or app that shows what WMP is playing on the today screen. This would be handy as I often play music in the background but i would like what is playing and the remaining track time displayed. Also if that information was a link to reopen WMP that would be great! Any thoughts? I'm suprised WinMo doesn't do this anyway.

No that doesn't help. I barely use the Panel's the today screen is what I want to use. Any advice?

Serach Google for Spb ToPlay. It's no longer officially available from SPB but you can find it outsourced. It can block your phone however when you first use it, but for me it worked after a softreset. Also includes controls for WMP.

this is in windows 6.5!
if you flash roms,then try itje's 6.5 rom, the new today screen (titanium) has a music section where you can browse through music, click once to play, click again to pause, and swipe left of right to browse songs, it automatically opens wmp in the background and the right soft button opens it.
imo titanium for 6.5 is a big step forward!

i realy disappointed of the Mediascape on the X10 its realy slow and not responding to finger touch good enught + the photo viewer is pretty slow!
is there any other APPS i can download to use as viewer and they good and fast enguth??

Search the Market, there's a lot of free apps there that you can choose from.

funny these threads. listed as one of the main selling points of this device was mediascape. you must have read that but bought it anyway! did you not try the phone 1st? this is a prime example of why we all should! not having a go so dont start flaming! expressing my opinion. there is no app within the app store that will deliver anything near what mediascape does right now so for this phone its the best you gonna get! in time when custom roms are being made then we may see the likes of what htc have to offer. we are also currently lacking in apps that do offer more but hopefully corecodec will develop an app for android! until then and until custom roms are available i would just stick with mediascape. no matter how much you hate it, the alternatives are even worse!

Anyone figure out how to create playlists in mediascape yet?
The only thing I have found that comes close is starring tracks as favourites, but that only generates one list.
Am I missing something or is it not possible? Cheers.

Yeah... I don't think that's possible. Which kind of sucks but something I can live with. I mostly just use Spotify anyway.
And I also want to know about any good picture gallery. I had one but it wasn't really good at all.

Ah, fair enough. At least it's not me going daft. I was searching Google and the results were implying that you could generate lists but they must have meant that it could be done via media go software.
As far as media players go i would consider that to be a basic feature that is required (especially if you have a large library).
As for the gallery I can't say I'm too impressed with that either. However I did like the one previewed on the mini. Hopefully that will be included in future updates, if there are to be any.
Just typing this on the phone itself using the HTC keyboard. The only thing missing are the directional arrow keys, tapping the screen in the correct place is hit and miss for me.

You can generate Playlists with the Astro Filemanager, which you should have installed anyway...

PiQture is pretty good photo viewer.

I found se's other music player in the phone but cant shortcut to it to use it easily.
Im using the file manager by nalic (green and blue pie chart icon). Navigate to system/media/audio/ringtones (ogg) and play one, a different player called music opens to play it, now leave the file playing and pull down the notification tray and touch the play icon then press the left menu key then library button and you are in.
Now this player will be listed in the recently used app list (hold middle button) unless it gets moved off the list by opening more than 6 more apps without opening it again to bring it to the front of the list.
I like this one better than mediascape as its less cluttered and straightforward and you can create playlists which are drag and drop editable and show up in mediascape.
It would be nice to get to it easier though.
There is also a video player and picture viewer but they are very simple with few options.

One of my main reasons for wanting the X10 is mediascape. Since I've only seen videos, and you guys actually have the X10... I'm looking forward to hearing why Mediascape is a poor media player and gallery. It certainly looks more robust and feature filled than any of the current media players I've seen.

it is possible but via media go I think, I spent ages trying to work out how to get a playlist set up but I think you have to literally set up a play list on your pc, then transfer that playlist on to the phone (?) only reason I say this is because there is a playlist option in the library in media go. Unfortunately I'd already moved my music across before noticing this so didn't want to double it up or remove it and start again.
I found an app called mortplayer which is free and works a charm for music

Or get a file manager from the market and follow my instructions above, any playlists created will be automatically integrated into mediascape.
Its easy once you suss it. !

Anyone know how to disable the mediascape from caching thumbnail for music file ? I think this would vastly improve the speed, as mediascape would only have to read the tagging info and not the image/albumart.
I tried to set the folder as read only, but it doesn't work, the phone still write to it

Hi all - I've sussed this out (alternate Music player and playlists)... download an app called "AnyCut" from the market... in here you can add all sorts of different things.. one of which is under the "activity" option.. called "Music" this is the stock android music app (mentioned by baggyb above).. this way you'll have a link to the music app on your home page which you can then use to create your playlists...

All these work arounds to create playlist are fine but the main PIA is when I want to add tracks to Current Play list while listening to music. Can't be done. I hope SE will soon release a upgrade to address some of these basic issues.
Also, when you try to add contact as Shortcut on Home Screen it brings up list of all contacts and there is no search or 'letter' list on side to select the names. You can to scroll all the way down to select names. I guess SE QA and design team tested the phone only with one track of music and one contact in address book.
