is there any one here?
you have to have an external sat receiver. AT&T sells one or you can get one from any place that sales gps'. All you want is the receiver that can connect via blue-tooth.

I have a XDA2i that works fine and as it should. I also have a Nokia 6630 3g phone on Orange, with the new phones comes one of there "try befor you buy" things where i get 1GB of 3g data per month for three months for free.
What i am after is to know if its possible to use the XDA2i to view the web and the 6630 as a bluetooth 3g modem, Just like years ago when you would have a old Ipaq with no phone built in and usae your mobile for the dial up or GPRS access.
Thanks
John
My XDA2i has bluetooth version 1.0.3900 but the bluetooth profile i am after is "connect to a mobile phone" or something like that so i can do a DUN connection and use the Nokia 6630 as a modem.
Have they removed this option from the PDAs with phones built in thinking that it would not be used.
Please has anyone any ideas
Thanks
John
Hi, i am looking at buying an o2 XDA MINI S and using it with my pay as you go simcard, it is a relativly new simcard (6months old) And i am just wondering if all of the features wil still work with it ?
THanks for any replys,
Cosstick
EDIT: I Also want to use the xda mini s with memorymap or tomtom/garmin gps, is this possible with a Payasyougo simcard ?
It has all the features that a contract XDA Mini S would have, but you need different settings for GPRS/MMS
and GPS will work aslong as you get a reciever for it.
What are these ? could you provide a link to one that would be suitable ?
And what do they do ?
thanks
i have
http://www.techfocus.co.uk/pages/pr...clid=CODPus_7zI4CFQESEgodv0pvAA&cookie_test=1
that one and it works fine..
it is what gets the signals from the satelittes and transmits it to your gps software on the pda.
i use it with TomTom and works good
So if i have understood correctly, this connects to the xda via bluetooth, and allows the phone to recieve the gps signals ?
thats not a bad price either,
does it sync with the software alright ? or is there alot of setting up to do ?
youve understood correctly
well i understand that if you want to use other bluetooth devices like headsets etc then you have to configure the onboard GPS redirection thing.
however i just use the gps, so it was easy..
took about 5 minutes first try to get a signal.. 1 minute now...(if that)

Im not 100% sure on this but I think the Traffic plus option is only available in Europe. I wanted to use this option also but I read on the manual / booklet that it is not available in the US. Im using Tom Tom Navigator 6. I dont know if it makes much of a difference.

Enough with the double posting please; post your question in one forum and check back. Don't go around the forum posting it in every subforum you can find.
I have bought a HTC new White Diamond.
i want to use the GPS and GPRS but without spending lots of money.../
i m in mumbai i have Vodafone!!,,
can sm 1 recommend me ne free software!~!!!
Hi,
The best free software for GPS is Google Maps for Windows Mobile. But to use it you will have to use the internet connection on your phone which costs...
No, it's not true
the best one is IGO8.3.x.x version...
You don't have to pay nothing for using this software, cause you use satelite for navigation, not internet
if you need this soft, pm me
greetz
IGo
IGo is not free and we don't recommend warez here lol
By the way, if I read correctly, you are in Mumbai so the first step you should take is to check the coverage of your country by the "usual" software and their clones like Igo (miomap), Tom Tom and Garmin and others ....
No need to spent time to install a software on your pda if there is no or poor coverage of your country.
Search for mapmyindia (shareware) on this forum and on ppcwarez. You will get the answer.
For GPRS, call Vodafone Customer Care.
