Is there a way to get SIP working on my XV6700 (verizon)? I just upgraded to a Samsung Omnia and was hoping to use my Apache at home as my sip phone... I've seen how to get it going with the GSM phones but I can't seem to get it going on my CDMA phone. I upgraded it to WM6.5 but I still don't have the "internet calling" tab.. Any help would be much appreciated!

I am a cingular customer and was curious if there is a software based push to talk that i can install on my 8125 that is compatible with their PTT service? I have read that agile messenger does PTT however i have used it in the past and it doesnt seem to work that well...
wait till the 8525 comes out, word is it may have PTT but I have yet to see any specs on it...just an unconfirmed rendering of it.
I'm interested in Cingular PTT for the mda/8125/kjam as well. I'm hoping once the 8525 comes out someone will be able to pull the PTT cab from it and us 8125 users will be able to use it.

Not likely; the carrier will likely have to implement services on their network to support it as well. The Nextel solution is based on an entirely different RF radio design; PTT on either a CDMA or GSM network also has to be provisioned -- it's not just software on the two phones, or the call will be dropped.
Agile Messenger (free) has a Push-To-Talk feature, you have to dig a little to find it, but it's in there.

I may be wrong but I have come to believe Cingular's PTT is software based after spending many months attempting to get PTT on a Treo 650. I've seen PTT on the officially supported handsets and it looks no different than the application that can be installed on Treos for the Orange network in Europe. I don't see why someone with that application and PTT on their account wouldn't be able to use it without a problem. Having that said, I never got to trying it so I'm not 100% sure but I do know it works differently than Nextel's and even Verizon's so it may not be hardware based at all.
well the nextel's use IDEN on their phones... the cingular PTT works over GSM.. and from what i have been able to tell from digging around that it uses regular data packets over gsm protocol like internet instead of normal phone call transmission... But then again i guess its all data transmission... sorry.. im not awake yet..
cingular ptt
for every ones info and hopefully helps in working toward ptt on the 8125
cingular's ptt service runs off the kodiak system and right now the companies that have it are LG samsung and sony ericsson with nokia working on the project currently
Has anybody gotten blackberry connect to work on a Herald?
I just tried it on mine and ended up hardreseting cause it would never boot completely after it.
Help
Are you saying that you cant get the gprs settings for the black berry plan?
I am running the employee blackberry plan on my wing and it works great.
If you are using the black berry internet plan you need to have your gprs connecting to wap.voicestream.com
where did you get the cab for your wing
Cab
I got the cab here:
http://thinkabdul.com/2007/05/30/do...obile-5060-smartphones-and-pocket-pc-devices/
The issue is I install it and it totally hangs my herald up to the poing that not even a reset works. I guess I'll try and see now with WM6, because I did that before upgrading.
Anybody know why it doesn't work?
Thanks
Is this only working on the factory rom or a cooked rom? Im going to test this tonight anyway but i like my Touch layout but wouldnt mind testing this. According the website it changes out the Windows icons and home page to match the needs of RIM.
I will post once i test.
After many hours of testing it doesnt work on the Herald at this time. The software is only good for the Dash. I have to finish my testing from work because it seems to only accept a BES server. I got the service onto the Dash. I will post later how it works but to be honest this process what not worth the trouble.
Maybe someone can work on a cab file to make this compatable with the Herald. Also Xavier, custs of T-Mobile cant use the BB service with the Wing. Employees are able to use it because you are not truely on the BES on windows you are using webmail to bypass the firewall. This software once it works on all Windows mobile phones will generate a PIN which is required for blackberry users to use its service.
Hope this info helps.
Hard reset your device, install the blackberry software, but install the software in the phone memory, and then synchronize etc. basicaly u need to have a clean device to have it working, i encountered the same problem i followed this procedure and it works on HTC P4350. a.k.a. Herald.
is it possible to get BlackBerry Messenger on a winmo device? if u have blackberry connect does that mean you also get blackberry messenger? or is blackberry connect only for emailing? (which new winmo devices from carriers seem to do just fine with push email). thx
Blackberry Connect not working on my Wizard
I'm trying to get Blackberry Connect running on my Wizard. I have a couple of issues that I haven't seen addressed anywhere in the forums.
First, my info:
Device = HTC Wizard G4, Cingular 8125.
OS = WM 6.1 TNT.19199 v2.
Carrier = AT&T w/ a PDA Enterprise data plan, which allows BBConnect
My company runs Blackberry Enterprise Server.
I was able to get Blackberry Connect 4.0 from here: http://www.sems.org/entry.asp?ENTRY_ID=225
Does anyone have a more recent version?
Do you know if I still need to use a hex editor to spoof my OS version? I haven't tried that yet.
Does anyone currently have BBConnect running successfully on an AT&T data plan using your 8125's IMEI number?
I installed BBConnect 4, it rebooted, I tried activating the BB, but it just said "Not Connected". Occasionally if I go to Utility and click "Register" the status screen will say "Service: Network Available" then "Data Tunnel Available" then back to "Not Connected".
Can I please hear from anyone running BBConnect on a Wizard? What is your configuration? What is your version of BBConnect? Where did you get it? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

I am having this very issue. I have a new Wing, I am on Tmobile, I have a BES data plan for my sim. Lastly I have the BBC 4.0.0.97...Installed without issue to phone memory. But will never generate a pin. Even speaking to BES server over GPRS or 802.11 etc, it will not activate my corporate account. I took my card to Tmobile and tested on a true bb device.. Worked no issue.
So I would tend to agree with you regarding these folks not truely on BES service over celluar means. You might be catching internally via 802.11 but even that seems odd.
So, please if the "wing'ers" have this working share the info..
thanks all

Hi, I've tried searching about this and I'm really confused.. I hope someone can help me..
The video calling function is not working on my newly bought TyTn (I'm with Rogers right now), and I'm wondering if it will work if I upgraded it to WM6 (It's currently 5)?
Also, I can only find the upgrade for AT&T8525 on HTCs website, is TyTn the same as 8525? Or I can't apply this upgrade to TyTn? I'm afraid the phone will just stop working altogether after I upgrade it...
If anyone has any experience in this, please help me out.. Thanks alot in advance!
TyTn an 8525 are brother and sister. 8525 does not have the front camera. For a ROM upgrade, you're better off with one of the roms put together by the fine cooks here on XDA.
Video calling will not function unless you have a good 3G service.
Thanks for your reply!
Rogers provide a 3.5G service so as long as I upgrade the ROM, Video calling would work?
but do I need to get Rogers settings somehow transfered to the new ROM?
I want the answer too! can someone please help..
To be able to connect to 3g and the like you will need the operator settings.
Have a look through here and see what you can find.

I just flashed my 8125 to the T-mobile rom. Now my internet won't connect because all the settings are now for T-mobile. What do i have to change to get the internet to work with AT&T???
I am curious about the same thing. I just upgraded my T-mobile and now the internet won't work.
In addition - the alt keys (of shift on a regular keyboard) are not the same as WM5, but this is a minor thing that I can handle. Just got to remember where the question mark is. LoL.
But, how do I get the internet to work again?
Found it
Found the answer... helped me, maybe it will help you too.

look for "network wizard" I have a download of it in my rom thread.
Hey all,
(T-mobile UK btw)
I've been using a WM6 rom I got here ages ago for my Hermes. It's been a great performance boost in that it's cut down and slimline so seems to free up a little more program menu...
However there have been some persistent problems I haven't fixed yet....
I managed to set up Web 'n' Walk with some general settings I found on the internet...but I can't get MMS or voicemail to work.
For voicemail I dial 121, get the same 'the settings have been sent to your phone' and a text arrives saying 'Network Pers' but it never works, not on deleting or rebooting - think it only works on 'normal' phones. Anyway I can then usually ultimately get through to voicemail. Although it stops all the links to voicemail from the handset working.
MMS is the really anoying thing however.
I've noticed one additional problem...which is that now incoming calls terminate my internet connection to web'n' walk and I don't think that was the case before.
Lastly if anyone is using t-mobile UK can I ask them to recommend a good radio rom as the one I'm using seems to have some (occasional) conenction issues and a cracky line - especially if the other person's phone isn't too hot either but I do also occasionally get it on landlines.

Radio ROM - 1.50.00 was ripped from the official T-M UK WM6 upgrade (so I'm lead to believe). Anyway, it's a great Radio for T-Mobile.
MMS - you need to set the MMS up separately from Internet, then send an MMS to yourself (and check it was received) before others can send an MMS to you.
Voicemail - just hold down the 1 key on the virtual keypad, should work.
Terminating calls - If you're using GPRS, an incoming call will terminate the data connection. Only 3G can operate data and voice simultaneously (and sometimes the data call still drops)
If all else fails, use the official WM6.0 ROM from the T-Mobile upgrade website (http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/sa_vario.html), this will include the 1.50.00 Radio ROM and is guaranteed to work as soon as you've called your voicemail and sent an MMS to yourself. I've used CRC's 13.0 WM6.1 ROM with no issues, however.
