So do you mean that they are okay to buy from or not??? Everything that I have been able to find says that they are a legitimate business, but I really need to be sure on this one as I do not know anyone in Indonesia that can check it out for me!!
This is not my first rodeo, and I have been scammed (once) before...... I can not afford to be scammed again!

I personally would never order anything from here just by the way it looks/managed. osCommerce (free) isn't too hard of a shopping cart script to install. Also, when I order online I make sure there's a secured connection and I believe this site doesn't.
If you're looking for a safe bet, I would purchase an htc shift on ebay. Current cheapest price brand new with free shipping is $745.94.
I purchased one in March. Seller is legit.
Just ordered mine today. Got it from smggsm.com for 679.94 + S/H. I asked a pretty good amount of questions before I purchased and seems legit. I will let you know in two days when its delivered (or not). Site accepts paypal only so any disputes will be handled the paypal way.
Well as no suprise the unit is brand new and great. Only issue is that it is in Chinese which I cannot read. Anyone have any ideas on me navigating through it to try and get english on it? I would love to load up the english recovery partition ad such but can't see myself getting through the Chinese to get it done.

Are the keys in chinese symbols as well?
No the keyboard is English UK verision wwith the £ symbol. After a lot of footwork I was able to use the Vista MUI Hacker to change the language and just flashed a custom ROM for snapvue. Still I believe the recovery partition is still in chinese. Is there any way to check?
On a side note all the manuals are spanish except the warranty card. Seems like a wierd mix.

I'm not sure if anyone has tried to contact HTC regarding some sort wholesale deal. I know on there web site they welcome traders.
I have used group buys in forums before and got some great deals. (I was the Buyer not the organiser) so im note sure of the best approach to get things going.
Maybe this has been even done on this forum before
has anyone got any contacts with HTC??
Any ideas welcome!!!!!!
HTC will only listen to you when your order exeeds 10K pcs or more!
Can't we try to get anyone in the forum to buy a new one?
Than we can reacht the 10k...
count me
count me in if you bid with HTC
very good idea idea
I am for it and will take one as well.
How to effect the different units to the differnt telco operators in different countries.
Htc may have some agreement with their existing distributors and this may forstall any direct deals. However having said this it should not be a dampener as nothing is impossible. good luck to us
Good ... very Good idea.
I´m in!!
I'm in for 1 Universal. I'd be more than happy to get OS updates directly from HTC...
Htc Universal
I am also in the list for buying HTC Universal.

It's not practical. HTC won't send out 10,000 machines to different people. They won't send them alll to one person without payment in advance. So unless that person can afford to buy that many, 10,000 people will have to pay him/her first.
Would you want to have to send 10,000 items in the post to people all over the world? I certainly wouldn't.
What could be done tho is to contact the distributors Qtek or I-mate
Excellent idea. I'll be in for one.
MMB manages to buy them in relatively small quantitys from the carriers such as i'mate etc so it should be possible.I'll have on!
Ok guys, here I am, and I am going to help you all!
I want to be part of it... a huge part of it.
I badly need 9.974 pieces for my relatives and myself (yes, huge family).
There remain 26 pieces out and it's really hard to believe we can't find 26 more guys to do the deal, c'mon... Anybody can afford to pay 874 EUR to buy this jewel, am I wrong ?
Unfortunately my account is running pretty low right now: there remain only 8.715.004,28 EUR on it.
Considering I'm going to pay 8.717.276 EUR for my order (plus shipping), if I do not manage to get a discounted price, I am afraid we will need 2-3 more volunteers to join us.
Please let me know whether you are joining me or not.
I live in the USA and my carrier is Sprint. Do you think there is any way to get it activated on the Sprint network? The Universal works with EVDO, right?
If it's at all possible, throw me on the list for 2 of them. One for me, one for my wife.
hi people. hey SLVRBLLT are you telling us you are going to buy 9,974.0 units at 874 euro each??? just asking
This thread is amusing
If it were practically possible to execute such a deal, I would be in for it.
I think before we start assuming this like the number of units that need to be bought and prices etc. someone needs to take charge adn get in touch with HTC to see if such a thing is even possible.
I dont have any contacts so I can't do it. Anyone else?
humayunl is right....bit of organisation please before money starts flying to every corner of the globe....and nothing comes back
I'll throw down..
Hell....I just bought an SPV M2000, but I'll throw down for this. Count me in....

Me too. why not just have the XDA-Developers Admins involved as well? after all, there's probably one living in each country. What we should do is find the developer in our country/state and find out if we could have a sort of hub setup. if everyone pays their admin, then the admin pays the buyer, all the buyer has to do is ship X amount of units to each admin in each country, then the ppl who paid the admin can come with their paypal reciepts and pick up the units from him one by one or something
Granted, it'd be a massive operation, but if it means everyone has a universal, then i'm all for tryin it.
Well i have started off a little interest. doesn't look like its going to be easy.
Im sure someone must post on this forum who works for HTC maybe they might come out of the woodwork if they know money is involved
Maybe a few words from the moderators would be nice
Hi everyone, I am very close to deciding on buying an X1. I stopped by a mobile phone "mall" in shanghai today and heard a few rumors about the wifi being disabled. One seller said you could turn it back on by re-flashing the rom, while another said it's impossible to do so since the chip is removed.
I know that some Chinese market phones have had chips removed for use in mainland China, but from what I gathered, the X1s here are all sui huo (gray market imported) and flashed. Is it really possible that there's a Chinese market X1 with wifi chips removed?
I'd like to hear from someone who bought a phone here and successfully turned the wifi back on (or if it was never turned off in the first place).
The prices I got today were very enticing. I'm ready to go back tomorrow but I need an answer for this issue first. I've already downloaded the roms and hardspl, etc.
Thanks for the help!
If the deal is too good to be true, it is probably a fake X1

Around 500-550 usd. It's not too good to be true, but it is pretty good. But I do have concerns about where these phones originate from. I am not sure if an extra 300 dollars (from sonystyle in the states) is worth forking over.
Or maybe I'll just go on Tao Bao (ebay-like site) and get an x1i from singapore.

The Wifi is part of the Qualcomm chipset so impossible to remove from the phone... the fact that they don't know this would put me off from using them...

I think the last time i was there they didn't have the x1 anywhere on display. I hope they don't, because if they "officially" sell the phone here then there might really be a chinese market x1 with gimped hardware. I think there's an actual sonyericsson store in metrocity too. But no x1 when i visited a little over a month ago.
I think for an extra 50usd, it might be worth having the extra peace of mind getting it from this guy:

First, you won't get an official X1 here in china, because a news was coming out that X1 is not going to be on market in china mainland.
Second, nobody is gonna remove the chip, why do they have to? Take time and effort to reduce the value? I don't think so!
Third, and this could be the basis, you can distinguish X1 with the fake one, can't you?
Of course, don't expect you get X1 with a much lower price, but you don't have to pay more to buy mind peaces, bring someone who speaks chinese, talk to the seller, you will get a good X1, nice and cheap!
The silver also has cover-scratched problem ,the same as the black....

What about the activation button? Does anyone know if there is some kind of activation that binds the phone to the google account from where it is bought (or is this button only for the t-mobile phone)?
Is there anything else to consider before buying it (except the high price) from ebay and using it in Europe?

Thanx for your answer.
I checked ebay and it would cost about 250$ over the real price. Really too much.
no, it only binds it to your google checkout account, not your gmail account.
so you will be able to activate it where you are
It may suck but different markets get different phones at different times. I don't know how many times I have seen a really cool phone only to discover that it will never hit the shores here in the US. This time it worked out that we got the phone.
I guess it comes down to you win some you loose some.

Yes maybe you are right...but not considering a whole market like europe...like italy, where people go on purcheasing technology also in a bad economic period, would be an error!
Let me get one first. Then I can get into shipping out of country. I own an IT business and I have create multiple google accounts under that and perhaps get 5 for each account I make up. I'm also in Italy at the moment and I have mine on the way only I don't know if my method would work for you. I'm stationed in Sicily for the time being and I used a site called shipitapo.com. Not sure if this site would work for you but I'm willing to bet there is something similar. As for the purchasing part I just went to google checkout and setup my account so all the information was already in the system, including shipping address and credit card. Then I had my brother who is in the states log into my google account and purchase it for me. He just had to click a couple of links and because everything was already setup. Now its on the way. hopefully you can find something similar. Might be able to use a US proxy to be able to log into you google account and purchase it.
@SpiersA
good idea! I should need a brother, and in usa! About shipitapo.com, it's because Google won't ship it abroad?
Well, according to the iPhone wiki there are 6.4 million iPhones (of 33 million total) in the US alone. Considering Google is an American company, and the App Marketplace had first purchasing support in the US as well, it makes sense to distribute a handset with this much probably popularity in the areas that are easier to support first. Not to mention they partnered with T-Mobile US (an existing partner) for subsidized handset sales and will likely get a huge bump in volume just from that alone.
I have to agree with the earlier comment about how often I've seen really nice phones only to have them never show up in the US (or after they've already become quite out of date). It's nice having top-tier phones start in the US first and then move out from here. A truly global launch with so many new moving parts at once (new hardware, new version of the OS that might not be fully localized yet, thousands of market apps that still don't work with the DROID, etc) would be a total nightmare and make no sense at all.
And yesss...I found how to place an order from all over the world. Just placed mine from Italy. It has been easy...I will reveal it ad soon as I get shipping confirmation!

Hey so I have been searching for the best place to buy a HD2 T9193 so I can use it on AT&T US 3G network. Everywhere I look, there seems to a consensus of anywhere from $800-1000. Then I find this guy, who's hotmail email address is cherryda78, who is selling them for $299 plus shipping. After emailing him he says would be $30. Here are some of the ads he has up online.
**So apparently I cannot post links because I am a new user. I copied the links to a .txt and attached it to this post. How I do I go about getting verified btw?**
I emailed him and he responded the next day with this. Below is our email thread:
Mr. Cherry Da,
I am interested in purchasing the HTC HD2 phone you have listed here and here (these were links). I have been dreaming of this phone for about 4 months now, and to get it would be just amazing. I know you can unlock the radio and run it on US 3G with AT&T. I do have some questions though. You have the phone listed for $299 USD. Is that correct? It seems much lower than most other sites right now, so I am pleasantly surprised but cautiously skeptical. Could you please provide some more information for me? How come you are offering it at such a great price?
Thank you so much!

Seems very shady to me, but for $300, I almost want to take the gamble. My question is if anyone has bought a HD2 from this guy, or would buy. Also, what has everyone paid for your phone? And where did you get it?
Thanks!
Telstra doesn't even sell it that cheap... so fishy...
it is either fake or stolen.
Hahaha Western Union or Bank Transfer - so you have absolutely NO recourse when (not if) this transaction goes south.
"Commenwealth" of Australia? Really?
If you want to throw out $330, send it to me instead!
The same guy is selling the Supersonic for €236! Does HTC have a massive leak in their supplychain that they are totally unaware of?
Please don't send this guy your money. The price is huge red flag and the Western Union or bank transfer only is an even larger red flag. If you send this guy your money you'll never see it again and you'll never receive the phone. This is a scam.
Hmm, poor broken english + only accepts western union or bank wire transfer + rediculous low price = SCAM to me. If it sounds to good to be true.....
don't, just ..... don't
Of course it is a scam.
scam.... Run, run very far.
chinese copy, gotta be, put the phrase
HTC TOUCH HD2 T9193 LEO 3G Unlocked USD$299
into google and there are dozens of hits, dollars, euros, and in one the company info is a pda manufacturer in china.
HD2 9193 is the best phone
Telstra charges AU$829.00 outright or AU$80/month for 24 months (but the call rate of Telstra is extremely high).
so $329 is fake or scam
Don't even think about it.
I work for Telstra, and there is no way that anyone can sell a Telstra Branded HD2 for that price. As mentioned earlier, if you buy it outright from a Telstra Shop it costs over A$800. You may be able to find a slightly used one for around A$700 on eBay.
As someone else pointed out,
Commenwealth of Australia, that should of been your first giveaway.
I tell ya, I know you want the phone...We all do but, be careful.
Any one that will not take a credit card for a high dollar purchase
is someone you need to avoid.
Ebay is the best or Amazon. At least you can track your
order by purchase.
Buy it and give us some feedback
buy it,I pay you $350.
Don't do it! My brother did the same thing on a weight machine set that was for $400 n normally it goes for $1200 n he send a money order n never got the weight machine n he couldn't do anything about it. Its a scam!! Don't do it!!
Scam
This definitely sounds like a scam, it will either not arrive and you can say goodbye to your cash, or it will be a cheap imitation. I know someone who bought a iPhone (idiot!) through ebay and it turned out to be some other type of handset with an 'iPhone looking' case. Didn't even look like an iPhone next to a real one.... avoid!

My Dad came to visit me and asked me to upgrade his old Galaxy S. I didn't check the phone out thoroughly and it has an old bootloader. So when I flashed Cryogen I got the crazy screen problem. I thought, no problem, I'll just flash the gingerbread bootloader. Well I can't get into download mode. The phone is an AT&T Galaxy S and they seem to have disabled all the button combos. I've tried everything, so I need a jig.
The postal system/mail here sucks, as you know, so I want to buy it without having to use them (or EMS which sucks worse), which means locally. I can get it DHL shipped to me from the US next month, but I would really like to get this going ASAP. I checked Sulit but one seller that claims to sell it is a total no show and the other has no stock and is really not interested in being a vendor at all. Ebay.ph is the same, there is one seller who might be in the Philippines but they are not replying. No listings at Tipid.
So anyone know where I could use a Jig in Metro Manila? If anyone has one and is willing to sell or rent it to me, PM me. I'll pay more than market price. However, unless you have a store or a permanent way to get a hold of you after the sale, I will wish to use Paypal, Google wallet or something like that.
Also, I've been looking for the resistors to make a Jig, but I cannot find them. If anyone knows who sells them in Manila, please let me know?
Thanks!

Salamat! That seller is the one who doesn't seem very interested in selling anymore. He has no stock and originally said this week but this week he said he is too busy and won't be making more.
Thanks for that thread, you are in Cebu? Is there anyway I could pay you to borrow yours? I could pay rental fee and Air21 or something like that to get it to me and then send it back to you in 1 day (probably turn around will be 2-3 days to Cebu via air21). You are active enough here that I can trust you and can do a bank deposit if you don't have paypal. If its anywhere within the realm of possibility, send me a PM and I will work out the details with you. I'll be heading for bed now but I will check back tomorrow.
Thanks!
mmm.. pm me sir.

However, that one on the istorya forum is new to me . I'll text them and see if they are still selling. If I strike out I'll send you a PM po. Again, thanks for your help!
