I haven't updated my phone for quite a while, the last update I did was a camera update ages ago.
A few weeks ago I tried to do a firmware update and it failed, so I let it be, but now I really want to update it because it's bugging me.
I just updated Kies.
The current firmware version is: PDA:KE7 / PHONE:KE4 / CSC:KD1 (XEU)
It wants to update me to: :KF3 / :KE7 / KD1 (XEU)
I have no idea what that means, by the way.
I hit next, and yes, and choose not to backup, and tick that box, and then it loses the connection and tells me again 'OH HAI! You can update your phone!' and I'm stuck in a loop.
I'm on Windows 7 on a laptop, I'm in Australia, I bought my phone pretty early on, from the UK. Have not done (and see no reason to do) any rooting or other stuff like that.
Please help?
Make sure the Drivers are correctly installed and you don't have a MTP Error when you connect.
Regards.
How do I know if they're correctly installed or not?
How do know if I have an MTP error? Nothing has come to me saying 'I'm an MTP error!' do I have to go looking for it?
Just Uninstall them from CP and Reinstall them. MTP device error pops up when you connect your device, if you don't have one I guess you are OK with that part.
Regards.
Kies suck! Install stock 2.3.4 jvr ot doesn't requires root amd all that stuff!

Kies seems to have major problem with laptops .

Make sure your phone is fully charged - I mean 100%.
I've had Kies flake out on me like that (with no error message or anything) because the phone's battery was only at like 97%.
Very annoying
Hey.
I got a notification to update my device this morning so I connected it to WiFi and let it download.
It was very slow for some reason and at about half of the download I had to go, I left the WiFi range and it stopped the download with a message something like that "cant connect to the server please try again", so i tried again and it said that I have the latest update already installed.
Then i tried with KIES, it found a firmware update but failed to actually start the update after the download.
so now i have 4.2.2 and OTA says that the latest update already installed.
I have tried to clear cache, delete all in google service framwork, revert updates for all google stuff, nothing so far
Last thing i want now is to flash it, can I do something to fix this?
The device is Galaxy S4 GT-I9500, stock rom not rooted
Thanks for your time
Same here my friend, I hope someone can give any advice on this.
I recently asked whether my S4 would automatically receive the 4G capability update when it becomes available in my area in the UK...
I was told that because my phone is rooted, it would need to be done via kies and no OTA update would be available...
I went onto kies on my laptop and updated it to the latest version. Here's where the problems start, when connected to my phone kies states that I need to update it again and then upgrade the firmware on my phone... So I try again, only this time it says that the latest version of kies IS not installed?!
Secondly I clicked on the Tools menu and then clicked "Firmware upgrade and initialisation" ... To which kies replied with "GT-I9505" Does not support initialisation"??
Thanks for reading and please tell me what do to.

For android 4.3 u need install Kies 3
Uninstall KIES completely. Reboot PC. Download last KIEs from Samsung's website. Install. Reboot PC. Start KIEs. connect phone.
Hi,
I'm currently trying to update several Huawei Nova by using the HiSuite.
Update via Mobile Internet or WiFi is currently not an option or a last resort.
My problem is that the phone actually tells me that there would be an update available (CAN-L11C432B330), current version is B140 (don't nail me on that being the actual version..)
So, update is available, it's big, we need some way to update the phone using LAN.
I thought it would be easy, download HiSuite, check for update, download, install, profit.
Just HiSuite doesn't find the update and actually tells me I'm on the latest version.
Is HiSuite just taking a bit longer to distribute that update, doesn't it work that way at all or am I doing something wrong?
I think the phone is a T-mobile Germany branded one, might that be the culprit?
I have a Lumia 640 that I de-branded from ATT to T-Mobile in 2016 using instructions on this site and it has mainly worked fine. There are two problems:
1. Even though backup settings and apps is set to on, I intermittently get prompted to backup up because "there has been no backup in a while". When I click to backup, the process goes to 96% and I get " We cannot connect to OneDrive. Update your phone and try again". When I go into OneDrive, it is empty -- no backups.
2. The phone has the latest Win8.1 version. Upgrade Advisor says "Upgrade unavailable for your phone. We are working with your carrier to make it available.
Does the fact that it is re-branded phone cause this? Any fix suggestions?
Thanks.
I thought that the upgrade to windows 10 was independent from the carriers. However you can try reinstall windows phone 8.1 (using the recovery tool) and then use the update advisor once again...
