Hi,
I don't know what happened but since today when I am moving an appointment in Outlook, on my PC ( let say for example from Today to tomorrow), it is shown in my HD calendar as an all day appointment, beginning today and ending tomorrow.
I haven't changed any settings in Outlook ,
Any idea how to resolve this issue?
Thanks
Daniel
PS: Problem is with Outlook not with the Pocket Pc device
How does it show up in Outlook on the PC? Is it showing at the correct times? There is a bar in Outlook 2007 at the top of each day, any appointment in here is an all day appointment.

I have found the problem: it seems that my Outlook.pst file was corrupted because it doesn't happen with an older file

This is a strange thing...
Here is my scenario:
I use ActiveSync to sync over my contacts, calendar and mail (from Outlook 2003). On each contact you have a field called "Birthday" where I enter the persons birthday. When doing this, a reminder is automatically created in the calendar.
The strange thing is that all birthdays are one day wrong on the contact in the PDA after a sync. The calendar reminder is correct.
I have found some old articles that this might be an ActiveSync bug, but no solution are presented. There must be some fix for this!?!?!
Has anyone else got the same problem? Please, help me!!!

Similar Problem
I think I have a similar problem to yours with birthdays...
All birthdays appears over 2 days both on my PC and on PPC...
I have 2 hypothesis for the problem:
-it's Active Synch and PPC's fault
-it's the PC calendar fault. I have been moving up and down between UK and Italy in the last 2 years, and there is a 1 hour difference between the 2. Now, Birthdays are recorded as "all day events" so when my time zone changes what was going between 0 to 12 goes between 1 to 1 or something like that, so I annoyingly get the birthday over 2 days...
Any solution or quick fix anyone???
THANKS!!!
I have the same problem as the original poster.
Device: Cingular 8525
OS: Windows Mobile 5.0
I noticed that a contact's birthday date is wrong on my TYTN. It's actually one day early than it is in Outlook 2003. Then, I changed the birthday date on my TYTN. This does not pass through to Outlook. I get 2-3 same appointments of this birthday in my Outlook Calendar.
What's wrong here?Is it SPB Diary that's duplicating the appointments?
I have a same problem with the dates shifting to 1 day earlier. This applies to all appointments. I use AgendaOne calendar.
Strange...

I found the fix!
I have a T-Wing, WM6 and I was having the same problem, the reminders for bdays showing up one day earlier..and noticed that the issue was only for dates were the DST applied . I'm not that concerned about outlook showing duplicate bday reminders , but I do care about showing them on the wrong date..... long story short.. here is the fix:
1. Goto http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=E343A233-B9C8-4652-9DD8-AE0F1AF62568&displaylang=en and download the Microsoft Office Outlook Tool: Time Zone Data Update Tool for Microsoft Office Outlook
2. Follow instructions and install.
3. After instalation completed, goto start -> all programs -> Microsoft office outlook tools -> Time Zone Data Update Tool -> Time Zone Daylight Savings Update Mode
4. It will update your appointments/ reminders (including bday reminders) and show them on the right date!
Hi everybody!
I've noticed that the birthday information set in Contacts is not displayed in the Today screen of the TF3D.
Does anybody knows about a solution for this?
Note: an obviously solution is create a calendar event for every birthday but I'd rather use information in contacts
For some reason my birthday information works, and i had no events set!
I'll look into it and report back as to why it works.

That's because you've synched your device with Outlook. Doing so automatically creates reminders in your Calendar.
I sync with Exchange Server and it doesn't create automatic reminders. So, I'm screwed, like the thread starter... I wish there were a way to create reminders for contacts birthdays without having to sync with Outlook.

Mmmm... I sync with Outlook 2003 and I have no reminders... But I used to have Outlook 97 and I remember that in some contact information (probably those created in Outlook 97) I've seen shortcuts to calendar events (probably I have reminders just in those ones)
May be Outlook 2003 doesn't create reminders automatically any more... Or may be there's an option to activate in order to create them.
Anyway that could be a solution for me... Let's investigate!
I'll check too.
I belive that once I set the birthday in contacts (outlook 2007) it works fine. I'll let you know
I belive mine works, but I'm not sure I'll investigate too
I have a similar problem.
I sync with outlook 2003 at work (but dont check the contact option) because this outlook has "n" work contacts that i dont want in my personal mobile.
At home if i sync the contacts (could not check the calendar because its synced with other computer - work) i dont get the allday events from the birthdays.

I think I've got it!
Ok... The fact is that REMINDERS WORK! As simply as it is...
So... Why did'nt I get the reminders in the Today screen? Easy... I did got the reminders but I DIDN'T SEE THEM.
The problem is the Today screen. The clock is sooooo BIG that covers almost all the usable surface of the screen, so the Diamond only shows you one event at a time.
If you want to see the rest of them you have to scroll down. But, what if you don't know that there are more events in the list? You won't be notified!!!
I think I would be enough if the Today screen would show then number of events that happens today. So the user would be notified and our reminders would do the job.
Any ideas?
mine doesn't work as well. using bepe's 0.99dx rom. i don't use outlook at all. pimbackup does the backup job for me
stupid slow connection...
i tried different things out, and it seems to be working fine for me. when i add birthday to a contact in outlook on my pc, it shows up in the calendar as an all-day-event, and syncs to the diamond. same thing if i enter birthday on the diamond and sync it back - it appears in my outlook...
however, those events are only created for the future, so if you created now a birthday for somebody, who was born on, say, August 1., it would first appear starting from 2009.
the only problem that i have is that for some contacts there are multiple birthday "events" in the calender, but this might be somehow caused by me cross-syncing my contacts first with neo/elf, then with touch, and now with diamond...
Hi, i'm having a weird issues with birthdays reminders.
I have Outlook 2007, i set there all birthdays and sync with the HD. I've checked and the reminder is set in Outlook, the birthdays appear on HD on contact details, i just don't get a reminder(i don't mind 23:45 hour).
I've ended the partnership and created a new one, still the same.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
LE: I get the reminders on my desktop from Outlook
I have got the same problem! Someone got an idea?
Funny that on the HD, notifications for all day appointments are created as "calendar.exe /allday".
On most other devices, the " /allday" command line is absent...
Maybe this is the issue?
By the way, SKTools previously reposted such notifications as bad. Then I contacted SK, and he added this type of notifications as a valid type.
hey mates,
the outlook calendar syncs just from the pc to the device not the other way around....
what can i do? i need the dates from the phone on the pc....
I figured this out today
When you make a new appointment you'll notice tthere's a calendar selection at the top. Select Outlook and make an appointment.
After this it remembers as the default, and Outlook will receive the phone's calendar items
yes man youre right... i found this out today , too .. thx
This worked like a charm! Thanks a lot!
