Just send in my Nike, for the 3rd time - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

Just wanted to let you know I just had to return my Nike for the 3rd time now. Currently my Nike isn't my primary phone however it is very annoying this thing won't seem to keep working.
Couple of weeks ago, the battery died on me. The phone was on an official HTC charger .. no problems whatsoever. However when I checked back on the phone couple of hours later, I found out the phone was dead. Completely dead. It turned itself off and wouldn't turn on. I tried installing a new working battery.. no luck.
I went to the T-M shop and turned it in. Week later I got a letter from the repair center stating the battery was dead. As the phone is about 14 months old, the battery isn't covered by warranty but the device itself is. Repair center said the phone worked fine with a new battery and adviced me to get a new one.
I had the phone returned to me and got myself a new battery. Seem to work at first however I got more problems when charging. The charge LED would start blinking orange and the phone never charged over 15%. One hour later ... phone + battery dead again. (Thanks alot .. new battery down the drain :\)
So again ... back to the T-M shop. Sent it in without the battery. Phone was found to be defective (all the sudden :O, ****ers) and the replaced the logic board on it. I had it returned to me again and bought yet another battery for the device.
At first all seemed fine however charging went really fast. When fully charged, I noticed the device would discharge really fast. Even when turned off! About 5% / hour. The next day I also noticed the radio (phone part) was broken as well. Getting signal on T-M network took over 5 minutes. Making calls is impossible as they get disconnected before connection can even be made (15 secs). Recieving calls is nearly impossible. It takes about 20 secs to connect making it ring barely one time before voicemail hits.
So today .. for the third damn time .. I had to return my Dual to T-M. How are your Duals doing guys?

Wizard situation: worse then a coma and maybe better than dead... But doesn't turn on

Hi there,
First I apologize about my poor English, I am Brazilian and should speak portuguese, but this is the best forum ever... so I'll try my English
My story:
Four days ago my 1,5 years old 9100 running the WM6 NTS was working perfectly, the best device I ever had. But, at night, I removed the battery to get the SIM card and then I put the battery back but did not turn on the phone. I used the SIM card in another phone during the night. I was afraid to lost it.
In the morning, I removed the battery again, put back the SIM card and then the battery. When I tried to turn it on, nothing happened, just like as if it was without any power. I was surprised, because I had fully charged the battery in the night before and before I first remove the battery, it was about 80% of power. So, I decided to try to recharge again, but there was no lights on. I left it charging for about 10 minutes and got nothing.
So, as I was leaving home, I put the 9100 in my pocket, after a few minutes I tried to turn it on again and it worked. The battery meter was showing about 80%.
Ok then… It worked well on Monday. But when I woke up yesterday morning (Tuesday), the phone seemed to have self-restarted during the night. So, I typed my password and it started working well again. I checked the battery meter and it was showing about 40% of charge. After a few minutes the phone seems to be totally dead. I tried to charge it again and after 2 hours I got nothing, it was still dead, did not turn on and there were no lights on.
Later on that day, I got a multi-meter and checked the battery tension. With the positive on my left I could check that measuring the power with the wires on the 1st “slot” and on the 3rd on, I get 3.47V. Measuring the 1st with the 4th I get 3.63V and measuring the 1st with the 5th or 6th I get 3.75V. Check what I mean at http://webtennis.rg3.com.br/qtek_9100/battery.gif.
I tried to remove the battery, then put it back and then turn it on again… It started, but in a few seconds, when was showing the OS, SPL, etc… it went off. I tried that again; it started, loaded the OS and went off. Once again I tried this, but with the power cable on, so it started but in seconds was off again.
So I thought “that might be a bug, maybe if I run the update utility it will work”. I started the phone in the bootloader mode, but before I connect the USB cable and start the RUU the 9100 went off. A few more times tring to remove the battery and starting it again, it went off and never came back again!!
I plugged the power cable on the wall and on the phone and there were no lights on, but I could feel the battery a bit warmer, just like it used to get. I left on the wall all night long and today in the morning still nothing. I removed the battery for about 30 minutes and got nothing, neither the screen with the OS, SPL, IPL…
Now I am despaired, don’t know what to do, no clues. I am in Brazil and don’t know where I can take to be repaired and have no plans to get back to Canada or Europe for the next 3 months.
Can you help me with this problem? I love my phone and want it working again.
Thanks for all your help.
Battery problem...?
It seems as thought you may be having a problem with your battery, not your phone. Try buying a battery off eBay, they are pretty cheap, and that should tell you what the problem actually is.
Or if you know anyone that has a wizard, try your battery in their device. If the problem is still appearing, then you will know that you just need a new battery.
Battery or charger ?
I agree with zakhir_n, it sounds like a battery issue not the phone. My friends MDA battery died after 2 months of use, so you can never be sure. We swapped batteries and revealed it was his battery not taking a charge.
Next check that you are using the original charger. I went away on business and grabbed the nearest charger for my 8125. Needless to say I grabbed a Motorola charger and it refused to charge the dead battery. Make sure you have the original charger, as it MUST say 1000ma or 1Amp output on the plug. The Motorola one I used was only 500ma or .5Amp and it was unable to recharge a dead 8125 (MDA) battery.
New status: WORKING
Hi there,
Thanks for all the posts.
Well, I checked my charger and it is a 1A 5V and my battery gets 100% of charge.
This is what I did:
Fully charged the battery, removed it for about 1 day an then I turned it on. Surprise!!! It was working and worked for 20 minutes and went off again e seemed to be dead.
Once more I the same thing but this time I flashed it with an official ROM. Fully charged the battery and removed for about 1 day. When I tried to turn it on, it worked as it was new.
So I flashed it with the WM6 Core 2.0n. It worked perfectly. When the battery got 80% of power, it restarted itself for several tines.
Now I bought a new battery and it is working very well, no problems till now. Guess you were right… I really had to change the battery.
Thanks for all the help and sorry about my English!!!
Regards,
Arthur
Nooooooooooooooooooooo
Hi there… Got the worst birthday present ever!!! Today I woke up and my QTek 9100 wasn’t working.
I got a new battery, when I put it on my phone it was 54% of charge. I used it till it gets 13%, then I fully charged it with my computer’s USB cable. Used the phone for 1 day and the battery was again around 80% of charge (just like the other time). I put it on “flight mode” went to sleep. When I woke up……. it was not working anymore, I put back the old battery and got nothing.
Now it is with the new battery being charged with my wall charger (1A 5V), but there is no lights on.
I already tried to run the WM5, tried a new WM6, checked the charger, replaced the battery and none of this seems to solve my problem… Do you know what more I could try? Do you know where I can send it to fix in Brazil?
I don’t know what to do… I already sent e-mails to QTek and to HTC and after 1 week got no answer…
Thanks for all the help!!!

Help with HD2-phone not working

Hi I need some help bad.
I have an HD2 (Stock ROM WWE 1.66, non branded). I've had the phone for about 6 months and when it works it is a dream. A few weeks ago I installed a custom ROM (Dutty's v3.4) for the first time, but decided to go back to the stock ROM due to reconsiderations about the warranty. Yesterday afternoon my phone suddenly stopped working. It had been freezing and running slow a few days before (I did a factory reset after that). The battery had drained really fast in the few hrs before (from 100% to 10%) it stopped working, although I had barely used it. Now the phone is completely unresponsive, and will not power on (I put in a fresh battery but it still wont turn on). Putting it on the charger causes the phone to randomly turn on to the title screen (HTC-Quietly brilliant), but then it turns off and then back on again (this repeats continuously for as long as the phone is on the charger).
I can send the phone back to the retailer (Expansys) as it is within the warranty period, but prefer not to do so because I experienced a similar issue a few months ago, and sent them the phone back. They repaired it, but it took over 2 months because there were various delays and they lost the paperwork (they office is in HK and the UK, I live in Australia) and would rather not have to go thru that again. Note that the last time such a problem occurred, I had not installed any custom ROM (was using WWE 1.66).
Help is appreciated. Don't hesitate to leave a post or PM me if any further info reqd
similar problem here
It might be your charger is FUBAR, so your 'fresh' batteries are not really properly charged. Worse, a bad charger can actually fry the control chip inthe battery pack - leading to very inexplicable behavior by the phone.
If you don't want to be without he phone for along while, try getting an OEM charger on ebay (~$10) and a new battery and see if it works.
Good luck!
hi madsci
thanks for the advice, unfortunately i ended up giving the phone back to the retailer, and am still awaiting its return.
With regards to the charger, I normally charged my phone on my laptop and using an OEM charger that came with the phone, so I doubt they would be the cause of the problem, unless it actually fried the control chip like you said. Either way, I'm hoping the retailer provides me with a replacement rather than a repair

[Q] Battery keeps going dead

All of a sudden, my P3400's battery started going to zero and my phone restarts. I thought it to be a battery issue and purchased a new battery.
Now with the new battery the same issue is happening. It also restarts in middle of a call. The only difference is that with my old battery the call can no longer then 3 mins and with new battery I can make call till 6-7 mins.
Any one has a solution for this ?
I have tried using different ROMs but no success. It looks like i have buy a new phone itself
same problem ... and i have to pull the charger cable alittle bit from being fully injected into my phone to get my phone charged
i think its time to buy a New one...!

[Q] Blade constantly rebooting

Hi, I have a brand new Blade. I did not make any changes to stock rom, phone is not rooted. It is just as I've unpacked from box. But on saturday my phone freezed when using sygic navigation a then it did not want to start. Just constant reboots. Even with sim and sd card outside. After a while, when I let phone without battery, it booted correctly and it was working good. Yesterday evening I charged it, but charging stopped on 70%, red LED was not shining. It was about 10 pm. I took phone to bed with me and today morning (after 7 hours) battery was only 10%. During my travel to job phone run out of battery. In my office I connected phone to charger and power it on and it start rebooting constantly. So I powerd it off, waiting to be fully charged. I seems to me like a very strange behavior. Could the phone be faulty?
It does sound odd. How long did you let it charge to begin with? Just let it charge like 12 hours to verify if the battery/hardware is faulty. If so I'd get it replaced.
RMA
I've already taken to reseller. Phone had problems with signal. It losts signal and was unable to get connected back to the network. Fully charged battery was at 30% after four hours of idle (after hard reset, without any software, only joined to gmail). It is a pitty, it is good phone. Reseller is out of stock, so I have to wait until new supply.
I see. It's an excellent phone. I'd just wait for new supply and get it replaced if I were you.
Hopefully your next one works.

An other (un)usual problem with dead s7 edge

Hi all,
So I'll start with backstory.
Is an 2 y/o S7 sm-g935f of my friends mother (which looks as new, not even 1 scratch), with initial problem that phone froze.
So first remedy was to reset it (vol - + pwr btn) but phone was unresponsive (which is weird), so she left it for a day to drain the battery afterwards plug into charger and working fine. At least for few days, then problem come back, and in matter of days started to freeze every time after 3 minutes of boot.
So I got it to me, and updated to latest fw from March/April 2019 (ending emc1 or smthing wise-like). 1st Flash successful, but froze on erasing/applying updates 25%, but reset it and it went trough, got AccuBattery app which was saying 84% battery life left, which isn't greatest but not bad. So after that I deleted all accounts on phone (used mine GA for playsotre) and flashed it again to have a clean start, after flash I watched it trough the process and it went flawlessly till "hello screen" at this point I turned off phone normally so she can set it up on her own. And from then (1 week later) phone won't turn no or charge at all, now I took back glass off (is not my first time doing it) and got 4.1V on battery which is a bit low to power it up, but it won't charge (before was charging normally), tried to unplug the battery to see if its in loop, but is just dead... Next step of mine will be to take battery out and charge it before replacing it (don't like wasting my/others money). If anybody got similar experience, I would like to hear from you.

Never had an issue with battery and my phone is 3 years old
So I took battery out, used my battery charger board to fully charge it, but it seem the battery doesn't work properly, so got ordered cheap knock off battery from ebay just for tests and waiting...

Sorted out, it was the PMIC (u7000) that failed. After researching a bit seems to be very common issue on this device. (Like iPhone signature failures). Sorted out by swapping motherboard (£35, is more money effective for friend/customer than £10 for ic + labour of 1-2 hours of micro-soldering).
