You can't do anything yet, Android isn't running properly on our devices yet.
no rom for htc touch hd. I advise you not to try
NOOB!!!
ok, i tried installing the adroid versions on the HTC Touch HD, and it didnt work. Now my touch starts, and then switches off.
i suppose i now have to install something from scratch via a pc.
any ideas ?
you could try to do a soft-reset
or try the zip version but both version is the same.
Finally, FRX07.1 on my HTC Touch HD
Finally, got the FRX07.1 working on my HTC Touch HD.
I had tried installing from a folder on the microsd (shared with other WM apps) but that did not go well and the installation stalled on several occasions.
My first attempt using a dedicated microSD (class 2) AND keeping the files on the root worked, so this approach is highly recommended.
Update on Day 1 of installation
Android was not stable. Hanged a number of times. It might be due to the known problems of too-frequent read/writes to the microSD (mine is an 8GB). Will do a re-install using a 1 or 2GB microSD.
Update on Day 2 (2200hr GMT 23 Dec)
I decided to resize my 8GB to 2GB with Minitool. Looks more stable now than before resize.
Battery life seems to be fairly normal.
Time drift is about 10 mins per 12 hours.
Update on Day 2 (1035hr GMT 26 Dec)
FR07.1 seems to be stable the last couple of days and I am quite happy with it.
Resized my microSD back to 8GB with Minitool. Took 3 reboot attempts (first 2 stopped at animation screen).
Installed Launcher Pro (free) as default launcher as I also use this on my Android ICS Tablet.
Update on Day 4 (0811hr GMT 28 Dec)
Stable so far.
Battery life is about 12-14 hours with light use (few phone call/sms) rest of time on standby
Migrated over from my Class2 8GB microsd to a Class4 32GB microsd
Class4 microsd seems to be more stable.
So far 100% successful reboots out of at least 5 times. Did the reboots because of trying to get rid of the strange keyboard on top of screen:

The Fagyi's NAND is a good alternative. Its under development yet, but it looks so pretty, estable, and high speed. The battery life is one of its issues. In my Blackstone 10 hours with the las version.
Bye

It is more stable and faster than FRX07.1, did not notice clock drift and the battery life seems much longer. Managed >24 hrs without seeing the charger. Here's fagyi's list of what's working and what's not.

Hey guys,
I had been using an older version of itje's touch it rom from last September or October. I liked it alot, but my old wing broke, so I lost everything. They sent me a new one, and I'm looking to update it with the best that's out there. My problem is it seems this place has grown a bit in popularity...holy crap there's alot of choices out there! So what are the best of the best to put on my phone? I can't live with this stock rom another day!
I would go with itje's newest, but I had major issues with receiving MMS messages on the old one. Not sure if it was his fault or not, but I saw someone mention the same problem with his newest rom. Or am I mistaken? I really liked his rom as a whole and would definitely recommend it though. Perhaps he has a new one that will fit what I'm looking for?
I saw a thread with that "ultimate launcher" which looks pretty cool. Also saw this "g-smart touch" today screen which looks really cool. I'm looking for something with some cool features, I think it was getting a little monotonous the way I had it before.
Aside from the Rom/Today screen, are there any new useful programs that are out there? I see the youtube video thing, seems cool though I don't watch videos very often. Anything out there that is a "must have"?
Anyone have some suggestions?
i used Ttran's open touch v4.. i like it.. i only had my wing for a week so its the only rom ive used.. but i like it cuz he put alot of programs in it...
Try the newest version Touch-It 7.1 Public Beta; it is based on the newest WM6.1 version and has been built with the experience gained since last year. Although it has been built for the Herald, you can use it on your Wing. There might be some small conversion glitches, but there are several fixes for those glitches.
If you decide to use this ROM check in with Duprade; who has been using Touch-It on his Wing if I remember correctly. His comments are quit usefull normally.
stay away from the sd open touch micro 4.1, the thing is fast and stable and I love how it runs, but battery life is horrible.
I forgot to charge my phone the night before so I Started off at 50%. I turned my phone! few hours later I turned it on, only to see my battery dropped down to 35%. I turned it of again! a little bit later I turned it on and i was down to 25%. I popped the battery out, and left it out, later I put it back in and turned it on and i was at 23% (that I can understand)
I just kept my phone on for the next 2 hours and it dropped down to 18%.
I think it drains more while the device is off than when it was on.

Has anyone found an actual solution to completely get rid of the wake delay issue? What I mean by wake delay is when you try to wake your phone from sleep and the key pad lights come on but the screen stays black for a few seconds sometimes longer.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
What type and class card are you using? Seems to be related to card. I have 3 cards. 16gb class 2 Sandisk = no wake delay on any build. 8gb Lexar class 6 and other 4gb class 6 = 3-5 second wake delay on all builds except darkstone's Super_Ram build.
I'm using the stock 16gb class 2 SD card that came with phone. I've alreAdy formatted the card and I'm using ozdroid Windows Rom but I still get the wake delays...So with your 16gb class 2 card you get
Zero delays ? Maybe I should buy a different card.

Try reformatting with 32kb clusters.
This is a known software issue and is present in every single Android build on here. The devs all know about it and it's something that needs to be fixed.
Actually, I take that back. I'm using Ginger HD2 at the minute and it's a LOT better.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Well its random. It will work fine for a while then I start having long delays. It's good to know that its a known issue and the devs are working on it because its the only real issue that's keeping android from being stable. It sucks when you want to show someone something on your phone and it won't even wake up.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Seriously, if you can be bothered to set up a new build, try Ginger HD2. I can go into standby with the power button and then wake it again seconds later, and it works 99% of the time.

Probably is because GB is so much more resource efficient, so the sleep/wake process is faster. I cant wait til theres more complete/stable GB builds released after awhile. But for now, UltimateDroid does the trick for me as a daily driver.
One thing to prevent black screen on wake is to hold the power button instead of just pressing it. For some reason, this cuts way down on the black wakeups. Between that and using the newest kernel by MDJ, I almost never have black wakeups anymore.
Oh, and it seems to me that the lower class sd cards actually help run Android better. Don't ask me why, but class 2's seem to yield better battery life and even perform better, or at least as good as a 4 or 6

Ginger HD2 isn't a Gingerbread build. It's a 2.2.1 build with a Gingerbread look and feel to it (and the lovely new keyboard too!)
Did you try what I suggested? Also, do a chkdsk for errors on your card. I'm using stock 16gb Sandisk card and have no wake delay with any build and latest hastarin kernel. My phone wakes immediately even multiple back to back locking/unlocking.

Hmm... not sure why you're experiencing this issue, but I have one more suggestion for you. D/L Advanced Configuration Tool for WinMo. Once installed, open it up and go down to section for Power Management and enable all of the power management options, save and reboot.

I will try this in the next few days. I'm wondering if the wake delays are directly related to the inconsistent ear censors that control the wake and sleep of the phone when in a phone call. Sometimes I will take my ears off the phone to look at the screen and the screen won't light up for a good while. Happens when I end calls too sometimes, screen won't light up. I feel these 2 issues are closely related.

I'm using hastarins 8.6 and the delay is still there. It is a tad better but not gone. I've tried various builds and they all have this very minor delay. It is not that long but can be at times. Sometimes I think people have different interpretations of instant. The best comparison is to try a Desire or Desire HD. Press the power button on those phones and it comes on INSTANT.

I'm using v8.5.3. I've noticed it mostly delays when I quickly sleep wake , sleep wake or like I mentioned before while on a phone call, trying to look at the screen. I feel that the solution to this issue can be found by adjusting the sensors, but Im no expert. Does any one use set CPU? I heard that can help.

this isnt going to do a single thing in android... not even in the slightest.
Hello everyone and greetings from Denmark
Ok, I´ve asked in the german pocketpc.ch forum, and noone could help me, so I´ll try here (maybe someone can help me out here)
My "needs" for Android NAND rom:
- no Sense!
- fast
- stable
- the new Camera (not the one with focus on the outside)(the one with all those fiddly settings ^.^)
- should last at least 8 houres at heavy use (48 houres in standby/minimal usesage
I´ve tried a lot of roms through the last days, but none of them fitted my needs.
The one which come closest was: MarkinuX HD Extra Clean V1.71
But that one startet lagging after af few days =(
And I dont want to update my rom every few days, I need a rom which can run without performance issues, lagging and "need for update" for at least half a year
I´m desperate, and I hope some of you can help me =)
Thx and good night
BeeJay
Ultimate droid? From my past experiences, it was one of the best if not, best non sense rom for me.
I have no idea what camera you are referring to, but it probably has the stock android camera.
If you are referring to a camera which takes pictures that fill up the screen, has features such as vignette, depth of field, posterize, vintage, etc, you may be referring to a sense camera app. The sense camera app cannot be ported to a non sense build.
Just to note, no android build for us can last 8 hours on heavy use, none.
I don't think you can get a rom with virtually no issues around here, but all of them are good enough for daily use.
MarkinuX HD Extra Clean V1.71 had an uptime of 75 houres at minimum use (about 2 houres of "not standby", all the time 3G, pushmail 30 minutes, some facebook checks a day, about 20 minutes of gaming)
That was really impressive!
Yes, I think I mean the Sense Cam =/ Too bad, but nothing essential
I dont want the "old" Andoid cam, where the focus is set on the outer side of the (my Droid hat that one, sucked like hell)
After an update it had focus in the mid
Would you mind to post a link to the rom u recommended?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=958953
There's a link to it. however don't be jumping onto it just yet. I haven't used non sense builds in a while so there might be a better non sense build. Just wait for people to reply if you can.
You could try a Cyanogen Mod ROM and maybe use a camera app like 'Camera360' to take pictures? Doubt you'll get that long out of the battery though.

There are 3 or 4 others. Just clean cache dalvik too and update any miui on another.
The standout features are,
1 Pulldown bar has a data toggle that actually works.
2 The best network usage monitor I have ever seen.
3 Its small, only 70 to 80 Meg update.
4 You can customize anything including fonts and all icons.
5 Its own built in music player downloads song lyrics which are played on screen as you listen.
6 Has its own legal market with apps we never see.
7 Has its own Dev site.
8 You can have as many screens as you want(12 for me) and no performance issues.
9 Text appear in a jump out box for quick reply.
There are many more standout features making miui the is of choice.
Good luck again.

Will a class 10 speed the phone up? at moment have a class 4
Thanks

From what I've read class 10 cards are not faster (in fact sometimes even slower) than class 4s. Class 10 cards would allow better writing of large files such as HD videos but for small back and forth read/writes its the class 4 that actually seems to work more efficiently.
There's some very detailed information on this somewhere on XDA but I can't give you the link right now. Do a search on MicroSd cards and see what comes back. Basically though I'd save your money if I were you because you probably wont see any marked improvement in speeds by shelling out for an expensive class 10!
Actually I've found it. Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150369

i don't have that problem or any other problem for that matter with la4 for about a month now. i am rooted with cf root kernel. perhaps some applications that you have installed caused this problem. since my galaxy s, i have experienced those after installing some application. you have to be observant after installing an application so you can identify which one causes a problem.
I hv no problem with LA4 at all..i hope my note can be good to me until i got the ics haha
Don't know if this is the right thread to post on, but my brand new unlocked Note is acting up at times.
It keeps on giving me a message that my SIM card had been removed n to reboot the phone, for no apparent reason. Works fine when I restart the phone for a little while. Initially I thought it was something too do with my Sim card so had that replaced, but it still happens pretty much on a daily basis and I can't seem to understand why. Any ideas / suggestions guys?
I had usb issues after upgrading to LA4 but i switched over to RocketRom v22 and the problem went away.
Basically when transferring files to my Note the USB would lose the connection or stop and restart ..

Since the 8th or 9th WP7 Rom I flashed, my HD2 freezing after 5-10 minutes during normal use (playing games, Navigon navigation etc.).
I've tried Stock WM6.5, Android NexusHD2 and WP7 with a SanDisk 8GB class 4 and a SanDisk Mobile Ultra class 6 but at every OS I got the same glitch: the device freezing.
I think its gone...
Any hint for me?
This is known problem...your processor is overheated and if it happens on every ROM you have been installed go to mobile service...

That's right, it seems like an overheating CPU: try to put it in a freezer for 15-20 minutes(in a sealable plastic bag) and see if things improve...
